y/n is the advice columnist for u-tokyos weekly newspaper. her best friend yui has just been dumped (again), and she claims its cause of her looks. y/n argues that its actually because of how she behaves in romantic relationships. desperate to push away from her repetitive writing and to prove her point, y/n pitches her article idea to her editor. “how to lose a guy in 10 days.” the plan? start dating a random guy, and convince him to dump her in just 10 days. the guy? toru oikawa, star setter of u-tokyo's volleyball team, who has, unknowingly to y/n, just made the confident bet to his entire team that he can make any woman fall in love with him in just 10 days, and he's willing to prove it.

hello! welcome to the saturday morning strega blog!

every saturday i post a strega comic strip (or a small drawing, if i can't think of anything for a comic), however i won't only post on saturday! i will answer any asks pretty much any day that i'm on here, whether it's about strega or me!

i am one papergirl though, and some saturdays i won't be able to post, either from being busy or being exhausted. if this happens a notice will be posted usually by friday.

i do try to keep this blog mostly safe for work, but sometimes there will be suggestive/nsfw jokes and themes, and they will be tagged with the "fragile: handle with care" tag, if you wish to mute that tag. all three of the strega members in my au are all over 18, and i am also 18!

I wanna know what hobbies the folks in the royalty au have. Fun facts. What do these bitches do without internet.

Well most of them do the same things they do normally, just with different context.

With the Western Kingdom being all the about the arts, entertainment, and expression, Cole's hobbies include dancing, listening to music, painting, and drawing—he'd normally be pretty chill and just vibing, if his father wasn't so gung-ho about getting him hitched. And being depressed about that on top of having limited time anymore anyway has deterred Cole from doing things for himself (which is something Jesse seeks to rectify). Also enjoys sleeping, but like, that's not a hobby, Cole.

Always constantly busy with his job(s), Jay doesn't have a lot of free time either, but he's still able to pursue a lot of his craftier hobbies, like poetry writing, cooking, and he doesn't invent so much as "improve" upon things that may or may not need to be fixed. Let's just say he's a guy ahead of his time...and is something of an adrenaline junkie when allowed to be.

Instead of being a journalist/papergirl/extreme cyclist, Antonia likes horseback riding! She also does still like to write stories, which helps occupied some dead time while guarding the boring garden gate, but they're less based on facts/rumors and more on just general goings-on around the castle.......so, Jesse and the Spring Festival are a fantastic source of inspiration for her. Also tries to learn to paint after getting closer with Cole (and inadvertently gives Jay the idea for a mystical object called a 'camera').

Can't remember if I've mentioned this in-story yet (all I know is that Cole doesn't know yet lol), but Jesse's actually a citizen of the Central Kingdom—the real (or, initial) reason he went West was in the hopes of making it big as a magic entertainer. So whenever he's not tending to the gardens or swooning over Cole, he's practicing his magic tricks (another reason why Antonia takes to him—he's really good at beating out boredom). He also likes to sing, but, he's gotta be in a really good mood for that. Also, not technically a dedicated hobby, but he does enjoy baking, even if he doesn't like to admit it (he just needs to right motivation...like a very hungry prince).

In the Southern Kingdom, they're all about agriculture and trade, so while I wouldn't call it a "hobby", Kai and Nya are both extremely skilled in farming, negotiations, and economics (Nya moreso with the farming and Kai moreso with the business). But for fun, Nya likes to spend time on the beaches watching (read: talking to) sea life or collecting shells, while Kai likes to travel if/when he can, as he likes to experience more than just his kingdom. Both of them also have a knack for crafting weapons—Kai by forging and Nya...more as crazy DIY projects, also maybe a bit ahead of her time. Nya also likes horseback riding and Kai likes jogging.

In the Northern Kingdom, they have a strong foundation in battle maneuvers and tactical strategy, so a younger Zane found himself doing a lot of studying while being trained with several weapons. He now has a fondness for archery and darts (but with throwing stars), and can easily pass the time with a nice informative book. He also enjoys bird watching like Aurora, and venturing through the forest until he gets lost, but otherwise is actually quite lonely.

...until Samurai X shows up. They're originally from Central as well, but their father and Zane's parents are acquaintances, so one thing led to another with them becoming Zane's retainer. They enjoy playing things like chess and other board games with Zane, and sparring with him, but for the duration of most the story they don't really have a lot of personal stake in much of anything.

The Eastern Kingdom is the home of most of the world's history (along with Central), so being well-read is already par for the course. What isn't common is the dabbling of magic, which is where Harumi's passions lie, especially after discovering Jesse has magic of a similar source. She reads up on ancient artifacts, studies spells, keeps a pet spider, and teaches herself to throw knives, but otherwise, she's a dreadfully bored person, and that's why she has little hesitation in butting herself into other people's problems. That's entertainment.

Lloyd, despite his well-behaved behavior to avoid trouble, has a nasty habit of pulling pranks around the otherwise structured Central Kingdom and eventually the Spring Festival (activities which are very much enabled by his retainers, and ofc praised by his father). He does this because he's good at it and hates to let a well-honed skill go to waste, and it's also something of a cry for attention. He also becomes interested in the cultures of the other Kingdoms, including but not limited to the art/stories of the west, the weapon aspects of the north and south, and the history of the east, like his mother. He also enjoys paragliding (which is something that Jay got him hooked on).

You may think visiting the Archipelago is like arriving on some tropical vacation, but the only one being entertained is its current ruler. He puts on tournaments just for sport of it, and will banish anyone for doing anything he doesn't agree with...so, Skylor doesn't have a lot of room to do very much, but on the flipside, it also means she's down for anything/everything when given a chance, as just about everything is new to her (which is what draws her to Kai and the other royals to begin with). Though one thing she is a bit guilty about enjoying is her younger self partaking in those tournaments herself—primarily due to the rush from the fact that she's never lost (and especially not to Chad).

ok ok so im thinking more about the future kajemac au that @/nodudeshutup came up with. and. i just rly wanna think about how everyone is feeling in it?? because i feel like future kj would get internally REALLY stressed out when 3 kids, one of which identical to her wife, show up at her doorstep, she'd just do a better job of hiding it and keeping a semi-cool demeanor than erin did. on the outside shes like, ok guys, come sit down and explain wtf is happening. but in her brain shes like 'oh my god i can't deal with this, i can't do this without mac, i need her to come home, but if we reveal to small mac that we're married it'll fuck up the future and she'll freak out, i need to call her, but what if this time travel thing has affected her too, what if she's hurt rn????'

she doesnt rly know how she's supposed to interact with them without ripping the space-time continuum apart or something, but they get along fine, even if mac doesn't trust her, so she's being relatively quiet and brooding and making snarky comments, with a few homophobic remarks thrown in for good measure (because of course kj's incapable of not talking about her unnamed wife). kj's like, wow, you were even meaner than i remember, and mac's like 'what's that supposed to mean?' and it's not like she can explain any more, but getting thrown back so hard makes her emotional and 'oh my god kj, you are 42, you can't cry in front of these teenagers, they'll make fun of you.'

and when mac finally comes home with 1988 kj, shes still confused as hell (but relieved) but now future mac's the one panicking because oh my god theres four of them.

she leaves small kj with the other girls to reunite with them (and make eye contact for 1 (one) second with mac, who looks like her insides are on fire and wow, isn't that an interesting piece of carpet that i'm not going to tear my eyes away from for as long as humanly possible now) and goes to the kitchen with *her* kj to ask what the hell is going on, and how did they get here, and are you okay??!? but kj does a good job of calming her down and explaining what little she knows, and they hug for a minute before they're prepared to go back and deal with whatever the fuck is going on in the living room.

and maybe mac sees through the ajar door, and sees what will inevitably be her and kj, being each others' first priority in the face of possibly-the-world-they-know-ending?-or-at-least-getting-fucked-up because theyve grown up to be safe havens for one another. they grew up and they're still best friends, in love or not. maybe she looks back to her kj, negotiating a plan with erin and tiff, and thinks, it may as well be like this. i can't hate kj for a future neither of us can control, because i want us to survive this whole stupid time travel thing, even if this is what happens 30 years after.

she may as well stick with her until this is all over. after that we'll just see what happens - because she can't really process the idea of liking girls at all right now, so she's just going to have to shelve this whole thing until she has the capacity to even try to deal with it, or until she gets a moment alone with kj, to talk about, you know, this.

so, feeling unusually unbrave for mackenzie coyle, she wanders to join the rest of the group and stands awkwardly next to kj, as some sort of peace dove to say, hey, i won't be weird about this if you won't. and maybe she doesn't notice, but kj's biting back a relieved smile. she had been holding her breath for a minute, as soon as she noticed mac walking over, expecting her to want nothing to do with the girl that's probably the catalyst for her lesbian awakening. except it was less of a gentle, fully-rested awakening, and more of a violent, sudden awakening with cold water involved or something. does that make sense?

mac has no idea, but kj's not quite as confused as she is. believe you me, she's still incredibly confused, but after she touched that monster thing, it... sort of lines up with finding out she's going to marry mac? she'd never admit it, and she's ashamed that this is what she's worried about, but the biggest thing on her mind right now is 'wow. i really hope that vision comes true, then.'

Oh hello! I’m sorry I didn’t see this in my inbox until now. I’m a tiny bit out of the loop on Pnat fics, honestly, but I DO have some that I really love and am partial too. 

Trainhoppers by SomnolentPoppy is a Runaway type AU where Isabel ran away from home at 11 and Johnny ran away from home when he was 12. By fate, they end up meeting and slowly healing the wounds that the world has left on them. It’s still in progress, but I’m really excited for the next update! It’s going to evolve into a Isabel/Johnny fic later down the road, but it reads really naturally and it doesn’t choke the story.

Chaos & Dischaos by Etnoe is my FAVORITE take on the Mayview Middle School and School Council conspiracy. It is also, hands down, my favorite Cody Jones characterization of all time. It’s also just a silly and fun fic that doesn’t take itself super seriously. I have just two words for you: Buddy System. Also starring Dimitri as the detective to Cody’s well-intentioned super villain.

Parental Guidance is Not Advised by soomin is a 3-part, sweet fic starring Dad Puckett and the Activity Club. All of these children need parental figures in their lives and gosh darn it if Dad is not up for the job. Includes cute adopted-family type moments and a pretty solid Dad Puckett characterization. 

Now, the next few, I’m gonna be honest: I am biased towards pretty much everything Glowstickia writes. Our friendship is based on how much we loved each other’s Pnat fics. Go read all her things. That said I do have some highlights.

Counterbalance is a short, spooky choose-your-own-adventure type story starring Max, Isabel, and something hiding in the woods. One wrong turn WILL result in your death or worse, but finding the right path is pretty rewarding. Glowstickia is always freaking awesome at writing atmospheric pieces and gosh if Counterbalance doesn’t give me goosebumps.

Madame Midnight: Afterlife Matchmaker is a dumb, but really cute story set in mine and Glowstickia’s CLUE AU. No, you don’t need to have any context to read it. It has a tag on her AO3 page if you want to read the rest of the stories in the universe for context, but Madame Midnight is the highlight of all of them and I’m biased towards it. Starring Lisa? Picking on Max? Dimitri thinking he’s hot stuff? Dumb code names? This fic has it all.

The final of my Glowstickia Special Mentions is Max Would Make a Useless Compass. It’s a short little story about Max having no sense of direction whatsoever and getting lost in Mayview. Isabel and Ed, as always, are off to rescue and ridicule him. It’s a cute, silly friendship fic that I hold very near to my heart.

Papergirl by monstrblood is not so much a fanFIC as it is a an incredibly well illustrated fancomic. Monstrblood’s expressions are A+ and her scenery is gorgeous. I’m in awe every time I read it just because of how much work was put into it. In a universe where spectrals don’t exist, the Journalism Club has a paper route. But that doesn’t mean Suzy isn’t curious about the mysterious, cute girl in the haunted mansion down the street... 

These are just my favorites off AO3. I know there are a bunch on tumblr I haven’t gotten to, so if you’re curious and wanna look, Eightfold’s Library is a very well maintained archive of almost every Paranatural Fanfic.

Heute wurden weitere Details zur Hausdurchsuchung bei Identitären-Chef Martin Sellner bekannt. Nachdem die Polizei vor Sellners Wiener Wohnung aus Rücksicht 12 Minuten vor der Tür gewartet hatte, hinterlegte sie einfach einen gelben Zettel in seinem Postkasten und fuhr wieder nach Hause.

Die Kritik an der Aktion versteht die Polizei nicht, wie der Pressesprecher gegenüber der Tagespresse erklärt: „Bei uns werden Rücksicht und Höflichkeit groß geschrieben. Nur weil jemand denkt und spricht wie ein Nazi und zufällig von einem Nazi-Terroristen bezahlt wird, ist er noch lange kein Staatsfeind oder gar ein Tierschützer, sondern ein ganz normaler, anständiger Rechtsextremer so wie du und ich.“

Sellner dankbar

Martin Sellner dankt der Polizei für die Geduld. Wieso er die Tür nicht gleich geöffnet hat? „Ich hab noch schnell ein Handy und Herbert Kickl im Blumentopf vergraben und sonst nur völlig unverdächtige Sachen gemacht, die nichts mit einem Nazi-Terroristen zu tun haben. Es war ein völlig unverdächtiger Morgen“, sagt Sellner.

Baldiges Wiedersehen

Ein Wiedersehen zwischen Polizei und Sellner soll es schon bald geben, sagt der Pressesprecher: „Wir haben beim Warten vor Herrn Sellners Tür ein Paket von einer gewissen Beate Zschäpe für ihn angenommen, das werden wir ihm bald vorbeibringen. Hoffentlich ist es kein Geburtstagsgeschenk und er muss wegen uns jetzt darauf warten.“

Damit Sellner in Zukunft noch früher vorgewarnt wird und sich bei weiteren geplanten Razzien besser vorbereiten kann, soll er außerdem ab sofort bei allen Mails des Innenministeriums in CC gesetzt werden.

since i havent put this on tumblr yet, i propose the nichest crossover i have ever made:

paper girls and bbc ghosts. if u dont know the premise for ghosts, basically erin moves into a big old house the same way as alison did blah blah mysterious family death inheritance etc. possibly with missy, because it's fun to have someone in the house who cant see ghosts (sorry mike). so they're just trying to fix the fucked up old falling apart house, there are builders round, etc, until one day, oh no! she gets shot in the stomach in a mugging or an accident or something (except she doesnt get healed by bugs this time it's just the hospital). she spends some time in hospital while the ghosts continue to try and hopelessly scare missy out of the house. in the accident, erin dies for a moment - but the doctors manage to bring her back to life before she's actually gone, and she heals up pretty well. on the car ride home, she notices some oddly dressed people.

when she gets inside, honestly wanting to lie down (except there are builders everywhere trying to do something about the ceiling beams or whatever), there's a young woman, possibly a trainee, who should be wearing a hard hat. she tells her to put one on, and goes on with her day.

oh fuck, oh no, it was a ghost. that ghost just reported back to the other ghosts that she saw me she spoke to me!! and now the others are here and oh my god that one just walked through a wall and that ones got blood all down their shirt and oh my god i'm going insane.

anyway etc etc, the first 2 episodes of ghosts except its paper girls. there are 9 ghosts in the show, and obviously i'm going to have mac, tiff, and kj, but i could put in characters like wari and qanta to make it more interesting? the 3 main ghost girls all died when they were about teenagers just to keep it less confusing (i know that's sad)

mac is a paperboy from the 40s or 50s. she dresses as a boy so she could get the job, with short ginger hair and a jacket. she has an irish accent in this, mostly because that's cool, and also because her family moved from ireland to wherever the house is, probably america?? but i also want it to be england bc i know pg isnt set there but i know more about english history #sorry. it could just be ambiguous but england has some funky ghost ideas. ANYWAY still deciding if she dies from cancer or not i think probably but that makes it difficult for her to have died in a massive house like that (bc you stay wherever you die)?? bc she'd have probably died in her own home?? idk im thinking

tiffany is a lineworker (for telephone poles and stuff) from the 1890s who got electrocuted on the job (@/goatgeminipearl on twitter had the electrocution idea). she's wearing her uniform, jumpsuit and hat with lots of hooks and tools and harnesses and stuff attached to her belt, and big old safety gloves. her hair is tied back and she looks a little charred. i have some ideas for her ghostly powers! when erin arrives and installs a tv, she has no idea what the monitor does but sees the plugs like oh! i know what these cables do! and suddenly finds out she can appear through the wires in the tv screen, horror-movie style. kj screams. she could jumpscare people if she wanted. you feel that lightning storm sensation whenever she's near, and you feel static shocks if you accidentally pass through her

kj i'm not quite settled on. em on twitter had that one idea about a victorian au where kj is an aristocrat who hates being an aristocrat and she plans to run away with mac and it's cute as fuck, so that's an option. i really cannot decide on her death. she has the vibes of a really shakespearean death, like a poisoning or stabbing out of revenge. maybe she didnt want to marry some guy, or got assassinated just because of beef between families. i think she died in her room, and appears in her victorian pjs or something, being able to be seen in mirrors. or, to flip it completely, she was trying to kill someone else, like how she killed one of the three men in the comic, except maybe his friends got back at her this time. i like to think she was getting justice, or doing it to protect someone. maybe she had a secret gay thing going on like captain did, and when someone hurt the girl she loved, she sought revenge

anyway holy shit i wrote a lot sorry to anyone who went through the trouble of reading it all i love you. please please if you have any more ideas let me know!! i'm way too excited about this mwah
