A homage to one of my favorite deviantArtists and Disney collaborators, Kei "KinKei" Phillips I did back in '22 just for kicks. This piece was a redo of Phillips's original sketch scrap piece:

It was honestly a fun piece to try out a more abstract style that sort of reflected something reminiscent of @skullislandproductions, Bruce Timm, or Shane Glines' Warner Brothers works from the '90s or '00s. I definitely can say that I'm proud of how this came out overall along with the added background I did to sort of match up with the overall pin-up theme. I definitely can say that I took a lot of influence from even WB's Termite Terrace artists from yesteryear as well when I did some practicing with the prop pattern designs below.⬇️⬇️⬇️

Hii! I love your art so much! I have a question if you do not mind; how do you shade? Or well, it kinda looks like you added a "noise effect" layer over it but then again it also doesn't look like that. I just want to know how you make your art look so,,- texture-y??? I know this isn't exactly tumblr's thing but I figured it'd be easier for me to show you how I do it rather than tell!!

I basically use this method on the video to add the realistic texture on top of the finished art, and in general I use a LOT of textured brushes!! For lineart, for base colors, textured brushes are your best friends! My favorites are chalk brushes and pencil brushes but there're tons of other types of textures you can try, like gouache, watercolor, oil painting, and all of them look wonderful with the paper texture above!!

As for the brush I used in the video for the light texture layer, it's this type of brush:

If you don't use procreate, just look for similar brushes and I'm sure you'll be able to achieve the same effect!!

My first digital watercolor painting inspired by a request one of my co-workers gave me for an art piece. She wanted me to draw a piece involving one of her favorite Winnie the Pooh characters, Eeyore, as the main subject. This is surprisingly one of the very few attempts I've made at doing background art in a very long time.

So instead of the Disney version that a lot of people are quite accustomed to, I decided to take influence from one of my favorite versions of the character from the original stories by A. A. Milne and illustrator E. H. Shepard. This version definitely did hit a cord of nostalgia for me since it was one of my biggest influences in my work from the days of checking out library books in Middle School. I tried my best to emulate overall somber and whimsical tone of the original stories the best I could at the time.

This was definitely a much more relaxing experience and fun overall. Something about painting this was extremely peaceful for me at the time.
