One of the funniest things the TTYD remake did was edit Grubba's line so that he had a steady girlfriend instead of having him pick up random girls in-between your matches.

TTYD remake Rambling -- Stuff up until the end of Chapter 2 talked about here

The TTYD remake has so much attention to detail put into it it's crazy… Like, there's the big things to improve the general experience for both newcomers and returning players; the Partner Ring and the new pipe system are much more convenient so far. And the battle tutor toad is great for practicing those tricky Stylish Moves with alot more precision than just going off Eddy's well meaning but ultimately still vague advice, considering some of these timing windows are crazy fast. Or the new partner hint system! I never really got stuck in these games, but I know that it's just a much better mechanic than going allllll the way back to have your future path read if it's something you need. Plus, I love any new dialogue for my little friends, even if they're ordering me about haha.

The layout for everything is so slick now too! And I love the fact you can unlock art and music in the menu by collecting Shine Sprites and Star Pieces -- while already useful in-game, it's just extra incentive to get them. Especially star pieces -- I really wanted to collect them in all these different areas and see the art! And it was sooooo worth it. Concept art for not only the remake, but for the original too. Stuff I've never seen before! Makes me wonder if they got it released just for this remake, yaknow? Just really cool to look through.

I love all the little things too. The new animations of course are obvious, I adore those -- they really add to the personality of the characters. But I also love stuff like how everything in the environment reacts to you, how instead of shaking bushes you crush them, being able to whack literally everyone over the head brings Such Joy …

I think Zess T uses unique cooking utensils for each recipe, which I don't believe was in the original? I think that's so cool ! Like this attention to detail is what I'm talking about. This was a completely frivolous change, but they did it anyways -- and that to me, shows the care put into this.

(Unrelated, but the animation of Mario getting trapped in the bubble in the Boggly Tree is sooooo silly… Pretty sure that was in the original but still. I enjoy Flurrie's personality too -- I never really appreciated it as a kid because I wasn't a fan of her design so I never used her. It's still definitely not my favorite haha, but I could appreciate her more now.)

Also the way they changed the dialogue about the Shadows -- I didn't want to just believe wholeheartedly that they would change the translation, but they actually did here! They didn't do a direct translation of the original Japanese version from my understanding -- opting for Beldam's transphobia to be in how she disregards the sister label but gives a very flimsy excuse for it, when it's obviously out of cruelty -- instead of outright misgendering. But Vivian saying that she just likes it when she's called their sister made me so sad… Vivian you deserve better!!! Another great thing about the new changes: you can whack Beldam over the head all you want in the overworld!

I still can't believe we're in a world where a remake with such care put into it exists for a game I thought would never be ported, let alone treated with such love. And even changing the English Translation regarding Vivian's character? I never in a hundred lifetimes would believe that would happen! It's honestly quite surreal for me.

This feels like such a love letter to the fans of this game, like an early birthday present delivered right to my door. It's honestly hard to describe how much fun I'm having with it and everything I enjoy about it -- I just wanna keep playing, haha. Chapter 3 is when I remember getting really invested in this game as a kid, for various reasons -- so we'll see if I come back for another Ramble then.

Ellie Headcanons!

I love she. I've been thinking about her a lot lately so I've decided to share some HCs. Both recent ones and ones I've been kicking around in the past.

Her full name is Elinor Madison Hayden.

She grew up on a farm, as I stated before. Her father is the farm's owner, while her mother is an animal carer. Ellie grew up among nature and animals and thus has a strong admiration for them, just like Gabby. Her family in general is utterly chaotic, but they love her and she loves them just as much.

Her mother named her for the titular character of Elinor Wonders Why - a show Ellie grew a strong love for growing up. Bluey is also a family favorite.

Her favorite food is pumpkin pie, especially when baked by her uncle.

She owns a lot of stuffed animals. Not quite as many as her girlfriend but still a respectable amount. Especially bunnies!

She's a very big pop-punk fan. Some of her favorite artists include Boys Like Girls, The Maine, Dashboard Confessional, Yellowcard and All-American Rejects. Her all-time favorite song is, as I mentioned before, "Only One" by Yellowcard. She's also someone who regularly listens to different pop-punk albums every day and thus she's had a lot of wonderful experiences hearing new songs and bands. In particular, "A Twist in My Story" by Secondhand Serenade is one album that had her in tears.

She happens to be an amazing singer, too. (wishing so bad we could have a DC musical season)

Though, she's not particularly a great dancer...she often needs Gabby to help her out lol. But with Gabby's guidance, the girlfriends have shared some amazing slow dances in nature.

Autumn and spring are her favorite seasons. Autumn for the general coziness, warm lattes, orange leaves and happy vibes. Spring because she loves when it starts to warm up again after winter, and also she loves the smell of spring flowers so much. Getting to know Gabby has her loving spring even more - seeing Gabby's energy whenever spring starts is always adorable to her!

I've already mentioned that Ellie's favorite flowers are peonies and lavender (if you count that as a flower lol) but she also loves roses, gardenias, lilies of the valley, hyacinths just like Gabby, jasmine and lilacs. ...Okay she loves most flowers lol. In general, flowers have always been something Ellie has loved. Whenever her jobs were stressing her out, Ellie finds some time to spend admiring flowers, and it calms her down. Gabby has taken notice of her girlfriend's love of flowers and thus uses floral-scented products to wash both herself and the girls' belongings, and Ellie finds it so utterly heavenly.

Ellie's interest in fashion sprouted when she caught some My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on television as a young girl and really admired Rarity's eye for fashion. Her father also has an old friend who is in fashion school.

At school, Ellie made a couple friends, but was also picked on a lot for her looks and being too much of a "girly girl" for her fashion interest and love of flowers.

Ellie realized she was bisexual not long after joining high school, where she started crushing on two different people - a quarterback boy, and a girl on the soccer team. Her family accepted her the very nanosecond she confessed.

She ended up asking both suitors out, but neither went all that well. While the quarterback let her down gently, the soccer player rejected her pretty brutally, pushing her onto the crowd and calling her nasty names. Ellie didn't ask anyone out again for a while after that. Falling deeply for Gabby truly changed her life.

In spite of her enjoyment of fashion and beauty stuff, Ellie generally doesn't use make-up. It's not her style...and she's pretty allergic to lots of make-up products anyway.

She gives AMAZING hugs. (Might as well be canon)

Her dad has an old Gamecube which Ellie plays a ton, often with Gabby and a couple of their other friends outside DC. Her favorite game for the system is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. You can bet she turned into a squealing little ball of joy when the remake is announced, and now she has a Switch on pre-order!

As a kid she made friends with one of the pigs on her family farm, a girl named Amelia, and spent time every day going to see her and play with her. She loved that pig dearly. Sadly, Amelia ended up passing away not long after she returned from season 1, devastating Ellie. Luckily she did have Gabby as her shoulder to cry on in those tough times.

In general, being with Gabby has helped brighten Ellie up considerably in her daily life. Sure she's pretty cutthroat when it comes to high-stakes reality TV shows like Disventure Camp, but when she's not in a competition, she's a sweet and tender soul. Her family in general is grateful to Gabby for bringing so much happiness out of their little girl. 💖

Hey everyone, I kinda dropped off again didn't I? Yeah I'm really sorry about that.. I'm realizing I tend to go through different phases of doing certain things and forget to let others know >>;;

Well I'm hopefully gonna try getting back into things or at least get through my huge backlog of reblog going things for my queue. I've been talking a lot with family and my gf on my regression and I think we're making a good breakthrough on me being more comfortable on using my gear around them all <:3 since before... stuff that I won't get into happened awhile back that made me not use my stuff as much as I wanted too. But! That's in the past and I want to try getting back into using my gear again ^^

I'm going to update now where I've been, mental stuff ofc always is an issue but not everything has been bad! My gf and I have been playing through every single mainline Pokémon game! So far we're now playing through PKMN colosseum and we're both having a blast playing through it c: I diiiiid try to shiny hunt the Dunsparce but learned to try to do it later ^^; plus my old GameCube started acting up.. so that was scary. I took it apart and gave it new thermal pads and cleaned it, that was very easy! Turns out it was my old controller causing the problems <XD well at least I refreshed my old GC c:

We completed the remake of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and LOVED IT SO MUCH 💙 I seriously forgot how much I love Paper Mario as a whole and DOOPLISS OMG DOOPLISS 💙💙💙 I used to love him a lot as a young teen and maaaaan he was wonderful in this remake!! His lil voice was perfect for how precious he is 🥹 He is literally so baby... ofc I say this without referring to anything agere related buuuuut then my baby brain got to working and I'm regressing with him now lmao. I always saw him being young mentally, like around 15 while his bio age is a mystery ( idk how Dooplighosts age ) and since he partners up with Flurrie in the end I see after a few years of being acting partners and them bonding, I see Flurrie being a mother like figure for Doopliss, and being a semi cg to him when regressed c: I'll talk more about this in another post

I'm going to try drawing again and get back into that small series I started where I draw all the cookies I see as regressors, as well as get to alot of other ideas I have. Other than that I'm mostly doing alright? Just trying to get by each day but thankfully my wonderful girlfriend and mom have been helping me a lot <:3

In honor of the announcement of a remake of the best game on the GameCube, I proudly present a comic abstraction of the plot of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a chapter at a time:

The Prologue

You, a humble union tradesman, receive a letter from your friend / girlfriend / leader of the principality of which you live.

Said letter contains a map leading to some grand treasure, and asks you to come join her in looking for it, as a fun vacation.

You head out to the town mentioned in the letter.

Upon arrival in the slightly sketchy town, you encounter a guy in a weird costume assaulting a young woman, who is also a Goomba.

Being, ya know, not a shitty person, you help her and fight off weird costume guy.

Weird costume guy then tries to gank you with his friends in similar weird outfits.

Upon escaping, the young woman thanks you and introduces herself to you as a college junior studying archeology.

You mention the letter and the map sent to you, and the exact treasure is the topic of her thesis, and her advisor, who is also a Goomba, lives in town.

You decide to join forces and look for the treasure together.

On your way to see her advisor, you encounter the butler of your friend who mentions that she's gone missing.

After getting mugged on the way there, you discuss the map with the college student and her advisor, who reveals that the treasure is actually located under the city but requires 7 magical rocks to access.

On the way through the city sewers, you get cursed by stupidly choosing to open an obviously evil black chest, who makes it so you can turn into a paper airplane while you step on certain floor tiles and only there.

Upon reaching the location at the bottom of the sewers, you stand on a plinth in the middle of a ritual circle before a massive ornate door. Suddenly, the map rises from your hands and begins floating up above you as the ritual circle glows.

After the air in the room somehow changes, the map slowed descends back into your hands as the glow of the magic circle dies off.

The map has been changed to now have the location of one of the aforementioned magical rocks glittering on it.

Upon returning to the professor's study, he gives you the lowdown about the location that has appeared on the map, a castle off in the field lands beyond the town

You and the college student then set off find said rock, traversing the sewers to find your way there, killing a giant squid on the way.

Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door Review

So before I go much farther, I must admit, I'm having trouble beating this Paper Mario game. But I've seen the ending, and the game played from beginning to end, and I've gotten close to the end. This is probably the best of the Paper Mario games, because the story is fun and interesting, the enemy isn't Bowser, and it actually feels like a continuation of the original Paper Mario. Though it does feel like it's taking itself less seriously. Also, a few of the partners' abilities are replaced with something called Curses, but I'll get into that later. Oh, and a few abilities are combined into a single partner, so instead of having one partner for each thing you need to be able to do (swimming, flying, hitting far options, etc) a couple are just put into one partner. So fewer partners.

So the story starts with Peach being lured to one side by a mysterious merchant who tells her to take a box that is said will open for the right person. It opens for her and she sends Mario what is in the box. This brings Mario to Rogueport, where the Princess was visiting with Toadsworth. Oh, and Parrakarry is the one who delivers the letter for that fun nostalgia. Say goodbye, this is the last time we'll see Parrakarry in the Paper Mario games, which is sad. When Mario gets to Rogueport he meets one of his first companions, Goombella. She just graduated from Goom U and carries around a book that will tell Mario pretty much everything he needs to know about his enemies with one exception. And she's evidence of one of the reasons this is the best Paper Mario game ever. The partners are unique and interesting. Yes, you could argue they are not that different. Koops is a Koopa like in the original, Goombella is a goomba like Goombario, you have a bob-omb partner like in the original. But you don't have a cheap-cheap, boo, lakitu, parrakoopa, etc. But honestly, these characters are far, FAR more interesting. Goombella is a graduate of a university on a quest for treasure and knowledge. Koops is a coward trying to learn to be brave and has a girlfriend and a father to avenge...or rescue or something. Oh, and there's a fun reference to Kolorado (who is not your koopa partner in the last name, I believe that guy was named Kooper) who was an archeologist you met on your travels in the last game. Bobery is a sailer who tragically lost his wife while he was away at sea to a mystery disease, and now he's an old sea dog who is struggling with her loss. Flurry is a wind spirit who is a bit of a diva and loves the stage. You also get a Yoshi partner you get to name, and color is random depending on random factors (I honestly don't remember how to get specific colors.) and is characterized as a tough guy and can swallow enemies you can't normally hurt whole and spit them out for damage. Vivian is an enemy turned ally by Mario's kindness after being bullied by her sisters, and in the Japanese version is even trans, though it's not in the American version. Ms. Mouze is an optional partner, but she pops up from time to time throughout the game. Her main ability is to sniff out treasure, specifically badges, which, while it can be useful is in no way essential. It's hard not to enjoy such interesting characters.

The story follows Mario collecting the Crystal Stars to try to stop the Thousand Year Door from opening, meeting intereseting enemies, such as Hooktail who will try to bribe you into letting him go, but is just playing dirty tricks (seriously, say no to everything he offers) or Dooplis who will steal Mario's identity and the only way to beat him is to find the missing letter P and guess his name, without your normal group. (This is really funny, but if after this you not only return to the town, but talk to the group who is hanging out with the copy of you, you'll notice they all seem to realize something is wrong, without being able to figure out what it is). You absolutely need Vivian for this.

There's the curses too. Yeah, let's talke about those finally. Throughout the game, you'll find four black chests at various points that you open with black keys. They contain demons that curse you, though...I'm not so sure it's actually a curse. Mario gets VERY useful abilites from these chests. You would not be able to complete the game without these abilities. The first ability you get is to turn into an airplane, which you need to get to the Thousand Year Door, to Hooktail, and a few other places, such as being able to get to Yoshi's egg to get him. This ability is followed by the ability to turn "paper thing, when Mario basically can turn in such a way to get through very small spaces, like jail cells. You need this ability CONSTANTLY throughout Hootail's castle. But you also need it through the Boogaly tree and many other places as well. Then you get the paper tube ability, which you need to get through small gaps you can't get through at your normal size. You mostly need this to get to Dooplis's castle, but it's useful to avoid some spikes as well later in game. Finally, Mario gets the ability to turn into a paper boat, which you can use in a lot of places, and need to get through Pirate Grotto. These are all essential abilities.

Mario will get various quests to get certain things. To get to the arena where you have to fight Rawk Hawk and get the gold Crystal Star, you need to see Don Pianta who will give you the ticket for trying to stop his daughter from running off with one of his men. The way to see him is to buy two specific items and say a specific color. There's walkthroughs that talk about this better than I can, so I'll just leave it there. You won't need to do so again after the first time anyway. Or you can earn coins and talk to the right people to learn what to do. Anyway, you'll need to come back here for a train ticket, which you can only do when you bring the daughter and her love back so the father can retire, and his daughter takes over. Characters that appear throughout can frequently be important. Not only is Goldbob and his wife and child important to the happenings on the train, but you need his signature to activate the cannon to the moon. The only truly irritating part of the game is you have to find General Silver, a silver Bob-omb who you chase from town to town just missing him until you come back to the bob-omb town to find him sleeping. And you just...jump on him until he decides to wake up, which will take a while. Also, like in the last game, you get badges and badge points

Another thing you should do as you play. Talk to Luigi after each of Mario's adventures. Luigi seems to be having an adventure all on his own and the kicker? He doesn't appear to be lying. If you talk to his companions, they'll confirm his story, though they'll tell it slightly differently. Luigi will usually have a new story after each Crystal Star Mario collects. I do recommend you power up your partners as you can. You can find Shine Sprites you can get with your various jump and hammer power-ups, and go to Merlon to power them up for you. Finally, there's a job board you can take from time to time. This is how you get access to Ms. Mouze, as well as the final updates on your partners through a quest Merlon gives. And if you pay attention, you'll see lots of creatures like Merlon who can give various power ups and abilities, though these are temporary.

All in all, this game is so much fun. Make sure to fight plenty, or you may have trouble getting to the final boss, much less beating the final boss. I'd give it a 5/5, except that that chase quest is unnecessary and annoying. You don't really get anything other than a "too late, the general headed to (area)" and the eventual ability to travel to the moon. Yay? So as a result, I can't justify giving it more than a 4/5.

A lot of people are assuming they're not "explicitly" together because of censorship, but going by other famous "couples" in Nintendo's bigger IPs, such as Link and Zelda, and Mario and Peach, it's just very uncommon for Nintendo to depict any sort of PDA outside of hand holding, hugging, or cheek kisses in their romantically involved characters. Often romance is implied, by body language, acts of service, or even just using story tropes (like saving the princess from a castle!) So it's not unlike Nintendo at all to write a romantic relationship through implication, it doesn't mean that they're being censored, it's just very similar to how they write all their romantic side-stories

I can't speak for the actual beliefs or morals of Nintendo as a whole, but even as a corporation they're surprisingly progressive. They introduced their Partnership System in March 2021, which grants same-sex domestic partnerships the same benefits that their legally married employees have, even when Japan doesn't recognize same-sex marriage legally

Nintendo also has a history of adding queer characters to their games, such as Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, who's canonically a trans woman; Tony from MOTHER 2, who's a gay boy; Splatoon 3 and Animal Crossing: New Horizong, which are games that allow for gender expression without gender-locking any outfit and don't ask you to pick "male" or "female"; and even characters whose romantic feelings for the protagonist (as in, you) can be freely inferred as queer, such as Fire Emblem Three Houses and Pokémon Sun and Moon (Lily has a crush on you, regardless of gender!)

Also, of course, Acht from Splatoon 3 is explicitly nonbinary, and uses they/them pronouns in the actual game

So, yeah... the idea that Nintendo not showing Marina and Pearl kissing or saying they're girlfriends is some form of censorship is understandable when you take into consideration Japan's censorship of queer media, but it is also a little misinformed, at least coming from the history of Nintendo itself

I knew that nintendo very likely wouldn’t outright say something like “Yes these characters are gay” but the way they were so insanely unsubtle about Pearl and Marina’s Definitely more-than-just-friends relationship in side order made me so happy to see, like there is SO much stuff that you just cannot come up with a heterosexual explanation for.

Marina’s sheer amount of swoony dialogue, dev diaries, her drawings of pearl, her desktop background WHO is doing all those things for their “best friend” . Pearl’s also shown to be concerned for and protective of Marina as well as be supportive of her infodumping about her interests

Even some smaller and potentially not-even-totally-intentional things just Work perfectly as more subtle details such as Marina’s dev diary being represented by an infinity sign with a rainbow gradient super similar to the symbol for autism advocacy, or the flags near cipher’s siftings with similar coloration to the lesbian flag (more noticeable with a certain filter in camera mode)

You Betrayed Me!

Armando finds out that Betty's "boyfriend" gave her money to invite everyone in her friend group to have lunch.

He nears Patty, Marcela, and Hugo cackling at the expense of Betty, as always, and smiling he asks what they're laughing about, that he too wants to laugh.

"We're talking about Betty's boyfriend." Marcela says calming down from her laugher and Armando's huge smile falls and he displays a pissed off expression. "Ah you don't know she has a boyfriend?" she chuckles.

"Nono I didn't but I'm not interested in the personal life of Beatriz. Who is he?" now his voice is low. However you can tell he is angry but controlling himself.

"I think she doesn't even know it herself." Patty jokes.

"But I am dying to know who he is 'cause that type of species, of people, we need to study. We should stick them in a research laboratory with cameras and when he gets close to give her a kiss he'd grab her by the ears and(proceeds to pucker his lips as if he were sucking in air) all drooling." Hugo insults and laughs.

"Ah! No! I can't imagine anyone could have the balls to kiss her." Marcela laughs and covers her face in disgust.

"Right! Up until now I was convinced that the only thing that could kiss her would be a bat." Patty says.

"Aside from that, the man ia a millionaire!"

Armando turns to look at Marcela and then at Patty.

"Millionaire no. Multi-millionaire. He lent [Betty] money so she could take her friends out to eat to the Corrientazo.(Proceeds to mock Sofia's voice and naming the menu)"

"With so much trickery she managed to get a multi-millionaire. Does she think we're all stupid? As stupid as the supposed multi-millionaire boyfriend she got?" Mean girl cackle.

Armando mouths the 'multi-millionaire" part.

All three of the mean girls laugh or cackle like wenches.

"What's wrong? Ah it's because in front of Armando you can't talk bad about Beatriz."

"Ah Armando one thing, why don't you tell that moscorrofio to introduce you to her rich boyfriend that way you can make business with him and get money to run me my check."

"Ha-ha-ha. You're all super funny today. "

"See he doesn't even believe it that Beatriz found a rich boyfriend"

Hugo complains about not getting paid so bla bla bla.

The camera then switches to Armando being centered, head down, staring ahead under his brows, nostrils flared, lips tight, and his classic hand passing lightly over his hair as we hear a menacing voice:

"I'm going to kill Beatriz Pinzón Solano."

One thing is for sure here: Armando's ego is being dragged through the mud.

The arrows thrown at Betty end up hitting him as he is the one that has the balls to kiss(in his imagination AA) her.

As they insult, ridicule, and make fun of Betty and her boyfriend Armando is getting a taste of what he's afraid of. The ridicule and social embarrassment he'd face if he were to ever be seen with Betty as his girlfriend out in public. His reputation is important to him and he is afraid of being laughed at and he's now seeing it. He is witnessing first hand what he knows people in his social circle will say behind his back and Betty's.

Now it does upset him and he is angry that Betty has a boyfriend as everytime he hears that he has the exact same expression: Anger disguised as disinterest.

When Patty mentions that he[Nic] is a multi-millionaire his anger now centers in disbelief and betrayal.

Swiftly he turns to Hugo and with a smile on his face until he hears again "multi-millionaire" and he turns to Marcela, mouths the words and stares at her.

The phrase that comes to mind is "stomach tied in knots." but not in a good way. He looks tense, pissed off, hurt, and scared.

All these emotions center around Betty and her "boyfriend". Why would Armando feel betrayed? Why does he feel hurt? Why is he pissed off? Especially more when money is mentioned?

Money for men is power. The more you have the better you are. It's seen as a sign of being untouchable, stronger, more important, and better than everyone else.

Men use money to boost their ego and feel better about themselves. So for him to hear that Betty's boyfriend is a multi-millionaire is a kick to his ego, but also his fear that Nicolas is turning Betty against him and by consequences will take away his money therefore it would make Nicolas Mora better than him.

Now Betty's friends suck.

They constantly use her to make fun of Patty. They never respect her privacy or her wishes to maintain her personal life secret from others in Eco Moda and are always so nosy in her business.

They care more about their ego than they do about Betty's wishes or feelings.

Even Bertha tells Betty that she can't deny them the pleasure of rubbing it in Patty's face that Betty has a boyfriend.

The only ones that show some kind of redemption are Mariana, Aura Maria, and at times Inesita.

Because of them the hostility of Armando and his distrust of Nicolas is fed. As they constantly spread false information and use Betty's intimacy as a pawn without caring about the consequences. They suck.

Betty leaves a lollipop on Armando's desk.

As Armando enters his office we can see the lollipop on his desk.

Why does such a simple object hold such meaning in this scene?

Betty exits her office.

"Did you eat well?"She speaks in a peaceful tone.

"Mhmm" he avoids her.

"Sir, I need you to sign this paper for the legalization of the money Terra Moda paid to your family." Armand snatches the paper from her hand to sign and then throws it at her. "Thank you." Betty looks at the paper. "I have some really good news! Regarding the sells report and with the advances that Mr. Mario Calderon managed to get we are able to cover the overdraft with the bank and pay everyone tomorrow."

Armando slowly looks up at Betty, under his brows he gives her a dead stare. "What joy, no? Beatriz." he says sarcastically.

Confused Betty stops smiling and stands up.

"I knew you'd like the news." she walks towards her office and then returns " Sir may I ask you a question?"

"Mhm."

"Are you upset with me?" Armando, again slowly looks up at her.

"If i'm upset with you?" He laces his fingers in front of him, head tilted towards her, eyes dead focused on her. "No." he rest his elbow on his desk while he makes his hand into a fist, moves his right arm to rest behind him on his chair. "I'm not upset with you, Beatriz." He blinks rapidly. "It doesn't upset me at all for you to go around the halls of Eco Moda to shout to the four winds that you've got a rich boyfriend. That doesn't bother me." he is angry. Now he already discussed the situation with the Love Guru himself and they drew the conclusion that Betty was referring to Nicolas and Armando. We know that he was jealous, both economically and emotionally.

"Me?"

He stands up quickly, picks up the lollipop and starts to gesture pointing at himself and moving his hands in the air in front of him. "No! Me! Me! Beatriz you said you have a rich boyfriend." he leans on his desk towards Betty and hisses at her. "You told Patricia."

"I haven't said anything, Sir."

"No. I said it. " He walks from behind his desk to stand behind Betty. "Since I'm the one with a rich boyfriend! Beatriz you're lying to me. "He shakes the lollipop in the air. "and what pisses me off the most are lies. You did tell Patricia Fernandez in the hall that you have a rich boyfriend and I asked you a favor, to please not tell anyone about this-this-what we have, our relationship, yes. "he jerks to see behind him. "that it wasn't going to leave the both of us, right. You started talking about it. You tricked me! You betrayed me! You betrayed me, Dammit! You Betrayed me!" he angrily throws the lollipop onto the floor.

"Sir, I swear to you by the most sacred thing in my life that I didn't say anything. Allow me to explain. We[the secs.] were all waiting for the elevator and I told them I'd invite(lunch would be on her) out to eat because they're really low on money and I had taken out sixty thousand pesos from the petty cash fund to help them. In that moment Patricia showed up and overheard the conversation and started attacking me, asking where I had gotten the money, as if insinuating that I had stolen it from Eco Moda. So then they, to defend me, started to yell at her that I didn't have any need to have stolen that money and that I earn a really good salary and am a really good administrator and outside of that, Bertha said that I have a rich boyfriend but I've already explained, Sir, that she is always nagging me about Nicolas Mora."

"It's cause you told them you are committed or in a relationship with Nicolas Mora. Or what's going on, Beatriz?"

"Um nonono, Sir, how do you draw that conclusion? I haven't said any of that. Bertha said that to mortify Patricia but again, I repeat, I don't have anything with Nicolas Mora, no more than a friendly and work related relationship" she smiles nervously.

Armando stands up from his desk and walks behind it.

"Look Betty this isn't right. I don't like for people to be making assumptions or speculating. You shouldn't have said that, neither Bertha or anyone else. I don't want what we have to be jeopardized or that there's a rich boyfriend around. I don't like that, understand me."

"Yes sir. I talked to them already and asked them to not bother me about Nicolas Mora and they'll do it. Besides I don't have anything with Nicolas. In any case I want you to excuse me because of all of this and I want us to stand clear that I have word and I'll die before I don't fulfil it. I'm never going to betray you, Mister. I am incapable of breaking something so sacred to me. Do you believe me, Sir?"

"Yes, I believe you."

"It just that for me it's really important that you believe me."

"Yes I believe you."

"Do you swear?"

"I swear, swear, swear. I believe you, I swear!"

"Thank you, sir."

This was a heavy scene.

Armando is furious. He can't sit or stand still. This isn't for show. He truthfully feels this.

Betty is nervous and scared. She stands still, only moving when Armando nears her.

The lollipop actually plays a huge role here. It is a symbol of Betty's affection(just like chocolate bar that he shared with Mario). When Armando hastily picks it up, he is holding her affection. As he waves it in the air he is questioning it. As he throws it on the floor he is discarding it.

This represents Armando's furry and how quickly he is to react to it. He doesn't pay attention to consequence or details. He is solely focused on his own pain and yes, he is in pain.

As he repeats over and over again that Betty betrayed him.

Why does he feel betrayed? He talked this out with Mario and they both drew the conclusion that Betty was probably talking about him[Armando](the rich boyfriend). However Armando still feels betrayed.

Let's take a few steps back and break this down to simple actions.

Betty arrives to Eco Moda. She leaves a chocolate bar for Armando on his desk.

Mario and Armando have a briefing where Armando doesn't talk about his feelings and when he does Mario doesn't take him serious so he shuts off and gets angry at him instead.

Betty and him talk. He talks to her sweetly.

Betty's friends use her to make Patricia jealous.

Patricia, Marcela, and Hugo make fun of Betty and insult her and her "boyfriend" while Armando watches and witnesses first hand his biggest fear that keeps him in denial; public humiliation and people talking bad about him behind his back. His ego is bruised.

Mario and Armando discuss this new tabloid. Mario then mocks him by asking if he's jealous. Armando refrains and tells him to get serious.

Betty arrives back to Eco Moda and places a green lollipop on his desk.

Armando arrives to Eco Moda and enters his office.

Betty hands him a paper to sign. He pulls it out of her hand and then throws it at her. He then proceeds to yell(whisper but yelling at the sametime) at her and like a lion paces in his symbolic cage of feelings.

At the peak of this he expresses his true feelings.

Betrayal.

Once again Armando feels bamboozled.

At the start of the day Betty's gift represented hope. It gave him the understanding that things were going well and all of a sudden he finds out that she is "talking" about her rich boyfriend[Nic] to everyone. This causes him to want to murder her. Now when he talks to Mario they conclude that Betty possibly wasn't talking about Nicolas but instead him, Armando. His feeling of betrayal moved from feeling jealousy to now feeling like he can't trust her.

To some degree, not only because he doesn't want to face public humiliation or Marcela finding out about them, Armando does want to continue this relationship with her as it means he removes Nicolas from her life and you know what that means to him. So he does want to keep it tight lid.

However Armando has a problem, he can't control his rage. He can keep himself composed in front of people he doesn't want to give a bad impression to but with people he sees every day he has no problem exploding on them. This is the one emotion he is never shy to show.

Now as he stares at Betty, the one who he has trusted so much, as a potential liar, someone who could have broken his trust, he feels deep anger and hurt. He believes that she isn't respecting his wishes and worst of all playing him.

Her gift now though still represents her affection, is something he no longers cares for in his furry or how he treats it.

As she explain her side of the story he inspects her. He is suspicious and watching her closely.

Now seeing things from Betty's side. She is now looking at the man she has worked so hard for, to prove her worth, her important role in the company and his life, who has worked so hard for his trust, question her, it causes her a deep anguish.

She clarifies things but she needs him to believe her. She needs him to trust in her, to see her, to not question her integrity, to not pull away.

This is similar to the time that Betty confessed that RagTela had offered her a 10% commission and because at this point things were vastly less complicated for Armando emotionally, he listened to her and he showed that he trusted her. However this time Armando now agitated and frustrated over the whole situation tells her "I swear, swear, swear! I believe you, I swear!" because he wants the conversation over.

This isn't enough for Betty but she takes his word. You can tell she feels awful about the whole situation.

People that tend to not show emotion, live in denial of them, and basically just avoid them tend to feel extremely exhausted when we are placed in emotional settings. Be it an argument or just a conversation that is heavily rooted in emotions we tend to burn out quickly and just want the entire thing done with.

Armando is the exact way except he doesn't have the luxury of taking some time off to recharge emotionally like many of us do. For months this man has been on an emotional rollar coaster with the company and now in his personal life.

When Mario shows up to his office we can clearly see a very tired Armando.

Betty isn't like that. Though she knows how to control her emotions, she wears her heart on her sleeve with the people close to her. She isn't afraid to show her affection, though afraid to speak of them she is, Betty still wants people to believe in her.

Again though Betty and Armando are similar in a lot of ways the way they react is what sets them apart. Betty faces her problems and she finds ways to fix them. That's who she is. She explains her side of the story to clear the air but mostly because she doesn't want Armando to not trust her. His trust in her means a lot to her. It's what she has worked so hard for.

So while he is emotionally exhausted at the end of their argument, Betty isn't. Betty is hurting and afraid once again of what it all means.
