Set in 2000, “Paper Dolls” follows the meteoric rise and fall of a fictional girl-group, Harlow, born from the music reality television show “Pop Rush.” The band's members, five young women, must navigate the dark side of the music industry.
the flesh and the start of the stranger! nikola’s page will be a circus tent on one side and a stage on the other, and you’re gonna help her get ready for the dance! (every piece with a gold brad is detachable and i’m going to put an envelope on the circus tent page to hold The Body Parts)
First, I have three new paper dolls: Datura, Davana, and Duranta. Well, Datura and Davana are only half-new; you might remember them looking more like this:
Datura (2012)
Davana (2012)
They were my first entirely digital dolls, and HOO BOY you can tell. I decided last year their art needed a refresh. So I improved their bases, redid their clothes but kept true to designs, and got rid of the fiddly accessories no one liked to play with. Judging by the reaction I have recieved at shows, I did a good job!
Duranta, on the other hand, is entirely new! I wanted to combine the themes of modern Sweet Lolita fashion with the silhouettes of old-school Classic Lolita. I think I did well, and I had a lot of fun drawing so many ruffles and lace.
The second thing is I have moved ALL of the dolls to Gumroad! Listen, Etsy just isn't as creator friendly as they used to be, and their digital delivery system was a bit lacking. Gumroad is a better home for my dolls. I'm hoping to move all my physical products there as well, but one thing as a time.
Print them out on cardstock (I couldn't get them to print bigger in scale but it should be possible on PC!) Or glue them to cardstock like I'll be doing, cut them out, and fold the tabs to help the clothes stay on. This is for fun not utility. I made them the same size so you can mix and match outfits.
More under the cut!
I just think it might be neat to have free little dress up dolls of our favorite guys! I tried to make it so that if you do cut out the space between the elbow, they can stand arm in arm. I also had plans for things for them to hold but it got kind of complicated and I ran out of energy. That's also why I didn't do their superhero outfits.
If you print these out I'd love to see them! Maybe this is something only I would want, though! If it didn't cost me anything I'd make these little paper doll books and mail them out to anyone who wants one. Anyway let me know if there's any issues with the link.
Inktober 1: no prompt for this one besides paper dolls and (checks notes) Friendly Edwardian Sluts. Done in Speedball Super Black with a nondescript fountain pen.
Upon request I made a tiniest little paper doll of my persona Lenz, to which I promptly slapped onto my partner’s white board next to a doodle I did years ago.
