An Amstel at The Pancake Club in Amsterdam. A 1 of 4. Honestly, this is worse than a lot of other macros. Super high carbonation, prominent adjunct notes, and just...not that great. Most other pilsners and pale lagers would be better. Poffertjes were good, though!

i woke up feeling sad and hating myself about gaining weight during this holidays season. plus the fact na i'm not in my best condition mentally and emotionally bilang oa ng taon hahahaha! but i need to be okay kasi bumisita kami kina lola since wala kami last Christmas. can i say na ang oa ng traffic pauwi? like two hours kami pauwi when in fact yung travel time usually takes 40 minutes lang ;_;

we went to the grocery na rin to buy ingredients para sa new year's eve, gagi ang mahal na talaga ng bilihin. but i'm happy na i can now buy these things without thinking twice!!! saka i'm happy to see yumyum sa wmall kasi its been a while, may nostalgic memory rin kasi kami ng ate ko dito. iba yung happiness kapag may baon kaming yumyum sa school hahaha

genuine question lang din bakit walang smirnoff sa walter? dumaan pa tuloy kami sa alfa para dito at syempre na-judge na rin ng tatay ko kasi bakit daw bumili pa ko eh may one box ng pale pilsen sa bahay hahahaha jusko pang-tito naman yon (sabi lang nila, no offense HAHAHA) tho i'll also try that one tomorrow or sa nye na hehe

RASP - Urban Gulaman @20th

Woke up 4 o’clock in the afternoon. I had a hangover, the usual routine after waking up. Got to find some food for my raging stomach. Too much gin last night, my stomach is rumbling. Anyways, I saw this post from my friend that he went to a December Avenue gig, and I remembered that Sago is having their 20th anniversary gig for their Urban Gulaman album.

So I chatted this friend of mine who went to the December Avenue gig, and I said “Pre may extra ka ba jan? Hehe” also said this line to my another friend. And they both lend me some money. They never asked what for. They just send me the money. Good fucking friends aye.

So I took a shower and rode the mrt and jeepney to 123block. The vibe is just the same with any other music gig that I went. A mellow vibe that feels comforting. I went by myself. I ordered a Pale Pilsen in can that is worth 150 pesos on the liquor booth. Tell me, what’s wrong with that haha.

So here I am enjoying my beer, a little bit far from the stage and the crowd, the show is not starting. I saw this man from 20 meters away coming towards me, if you are an indie music fan you can easily identify this man. And then he walked past by me. It was Unique, he’s going to the exit near the barrier. And he seems like waiting for someone. So I kept my cool and looking to the stage, then I looked behind to see him and there he is with Zild. Some folks took some pictures with them and they walk near the merch booths to the food booths and to the stage. And the first act starts to play. Blaster and the Celestial Klownz.

“Plakado” that’s all I can say for the first act, even tho they have some tech difficulties during the first song, all in all, it is really good. After their set I go for a quick smoke outside/on the other side of the barrier, because that’s where the organizers told to me the only area that I can smoke.

The second act is Alyson, I’m not that really hooked to their music. Not my type for now maybe. But they are really good also. After their set I went outside, there’s a near 7/11 so I go and buy me a lemon dou, for only 80pesos #hacks. I just put it inside my pocket. Then go straight to the venue without the bouncer noticing what am I hiding.

The 3rd and final act before the headliner, Spacedog Spacecat, all their songs are sounded like it is all covers. This genre is my type. Indie rock, shoegaze type band. I think they are really really good. On their last song I went to the Rest room and saw that, there’s a smoking area nga pala near the toilets. I forgot this smoking area because the last time I went here was like 2 and a half years ago. So after the 3rd act, I went for a smoke near the toilets.

There’s Dong Abay, Shanne Dandan, the guy from Oh Flamingo and some other people taking their cig break. Surreal experience for me because it was the first time that I saw Dong Abay. He really looks like a rockstar. Then the sax player and percussionist of RASP also there. The percussionist saying that Francis is nowhere to be found. He said that they are all dead if they didnt see him fast enough. Then he stroll away. The vibe on that smoking area is very much different from other smoking area that I went. It is surreal.

Here comes the band, starting to play. I’m lost for words. It really is a surreal experience for me. It is one of the most special night for me.

Kihei, Hawaii (August 8, 2023) – Maui Brewing Company is introducing a Kernza® Pilsner in partnership with Patagonia Provisions, the food and beverage business of outdoor apparel company Patagonia. The Kernza Pils is brewed with Organic Vienna and Organic Pilsner malts with Organic Talus and Organic Wakatu hops and Regenerative Organic Certified® Kernza®. The light-bodied beer is moderately bitter with 40 IBUs and balanced with sweetness that finishes dry. It is clear with pale straw to gold appearance and offers an elegant, floral hop aroma. Its ABV is 4.6%.

Kernza®, a deeply-rooted regenerative perennial grain, has the potential to transform the brewing industry. Kernza® stabilizes soil, requires minimal tilling, increases soil organic matter, and improves soil structure and water-holding capacity. Patagonia is confident that ongoing research will also confirm that Kernza® draws down and stores more carbon in the soil than annual grains. When used in beer, it adds a deliciously rich but subtle nutty flavor. The Regenerative Organic Certified® Kernza® used in the Kernza Pils is sourced from A-Frame Farm, a 1,200-acre Regenerative Organic Certified® farm in Madison, Minnesota.

Participating breweries and Patagonia will each contribute 1% of Patagonia beer sales to a local non-profit that supports environmental initiatives and meets 1% for the Planet eligibility criteria.
