How to install Windows 10 on Mac

To install Windows, use Boot Camp Assistant, which is included with your Mac.

1. Check your Secure Boot setting

Learn how to check your Secure Boot setting. The default Secure Boot setting is Full Security. If you changed it to No Security, change it back to Full Security before installing Windows. After installing Windows, you can use any Secure Boot setting without affecting your ability to start up from Windows.

2. Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition

Open Boot Camp Assistant, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. Follow the onscreen instructions.

4. Install Windows

5. Use the Boot Camp installer in Windows

After Windows installation completes, your Mac starts up in Windows and opens a ”Welcome to the Boot Camp installer” window. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Boot Camp and Windows support software (drivers). You will be asked to restart when done.

If the Boot Camp installer never opens, open the Boot Camp installer manually and use it to complete Boot Camp installation.

If you have an external display connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port on your Mac, the display will be blank (black, gray, or blue) for up to 2 minutes during installation.

Restart, then press and hold the Option (or Alt) ⌥ key during startup to switch between Windows and macOS.

Fortunately, CSS allows set several values for the font-family property, which eases the task a bit.

1 Georgia and Trebuchet MS are bundled with Windows 2000/XP and they are also included in the IE font pack (and bundled with other MS applications), so they are quite common in Windows 98 systems.

2 Symbolic fonts are only displayed in Internet Explorer, in other browsers a font substitute is used instead (although the Symbol font does work in Opera and the Webdings works in Safari).

3 Book Antiqua is almost exactly the same font that Palatino Linotype, Palatino Linotype is included in Windows 2000/XP while Book Antiqua was bundled with Windows 98.

4 These fonts are not TrueType fonts but bitmap fonts, so they won't look well when using some font sizes (they are designed for 8, 10, 12, 14, 18 and 24 point sizes at 96 DPI).

5 These fonts work in Safari but only when using the normal font style, and not with bold or italic styles. Comic Sans MS works in bold but not in italic. Other Mac browsers seems to emulate properly the styles not provided by the font (thanks to Christian Fecteau for the tip).

Note that while the ClearType smoothing is applied always, the basic font smoothing of Windows 98/2000/XP is applied only to certain font sizes. That sizes can be specified by the font designer, but usually they are in the ranges of 0-6 and 14+ points (pt).

Ich arbeite bereits seit 2017 mit dem SEO Plugin Yoast, dazwischen habe ich auch Plugins wie All in one wp SEO und Delucks SEO gestetset. Yoast gehört nicht nur zu den bekanntesten SO Plugins, sondern auch zu den beliebtesten SEO-Plugins. Die kostenlose Basic Version reicht dabei vollkommen aus. Du kannst die Keyword Suche optimieren, die Lesbarkeit von Artikeln verbessern, die Metallbeschreibung anpassen und Permalinks bearbeiten. Bei der Basic Version von Yoast kannst du ein Fokus Keyword festlegen, zu dem der Artikel ranken soll. Das Plugin bieten sehr umfangreiche Funktionen zur Onapage-Optimierung.

2. Rank Math

Rank Math ist bei Bloggern inzwischen bekannt, ich habe allerdings das erste Mal im April diesen Jahres davon gehört. Ich hatte einige SEO-Plugins getestet unter anderem Delucks SEO und Squirrly SEO, aber Rank Math hat mich überzeugt. Es bietet dir alle Funktionen die Yoast auch mit an Bord hat. Und das sogar in der kostenlosen Version. Rank Math bietet dir sogar mehr als die Basic Version von SEO unter anderem eine Schnittstelle zur Google Search Console. Kurz es ist das Schweizer Taschenmesser und der Geheimtipps unter den SEO Tools. Es enthält alles Features, die du für eine Onpage-Optimierung benötigst. Alle Informationen über deine Keyword-Optimierung die Daten aus der Google Search Consoel findest du im Dashboard. So siehst du auf einen Blick, welche Fehler deine Webseite hat und wo noch Optimierungsbedarf besteht. Rank Math biete aber mehr als die das Festlegen von einem Fokuskeyword, du kannst damit bis zu 5 Keywords

3. Delucks SEO

Eigentlich habe ich mit Delucks SEO recht gern gearbeitet und plante sogar ein Wechsel von Yoast zu Delucks SEO, aber das war bevor ich rank Math kannte. Denn Delucks SEO mag gerade für Laien etwas verwirrend wirken. Die Metadaten finden sich direkt auf dem Dashboard und können bearbeitet werden, ohne die Inhalte zu öffnen. Du kannst also Artikel optimieren und Inhalte aus der Übersicht anpassen. Das coole ist das dieses Plugin kostenlos genutzt werden kann und komplett auf Deutsch ist. Auch die Premium Version für 60 Euro finde ich akzeptabel. Die Basic Version bietet aber deutlich weniger Funktionen als wie bei Yoast oder Rank Math. Erst mit der Premium Version kommt man in den Genuss von Bildoptimierung, Mikrodaten, Sterne-Bewertungen und Bradcrumbs. Das Plugin gibt es sowohl auf Deutsch als auch in Englisch und was mir bei Delucks SEO gut gefallen hat, ist das du bestehende Arten von wpSEO und Yoast einfach übernehmen kannst.

4. All. in Wp SEO

Das all in One SEO Pack ist nach Yoast das bekannteste SEO-Plugin. Ich habe es mir näher angesehen und kann dazu sagen, dass es sich perfekt für Einsteiger eignet. Das Plugin bietet eine gute Übersicht über alle Funktionen und einfache Bedingung. Zudem werden viele Onepage Optimierungen automatisch generiert. Den das Plugin biete alle Funktionen für die Onpeage Optimierung mit Support. Die Pro-Version für Einzelunternehmer aber relativ teuer und eignet sich in erster Linie auch für Online-Shop Betreiber. Ansonsten sind sich All n SEO und Yoast vom Funktionsumfang her relativ ähnlich. Das Plugin verfügt aber über besonders Features um schädliche Bots blockieren, um Spam zu verhindern und Meta-descriptons automatisch zu generieren. Auch die Überprüfung von Duplicate Content ist eine Funktion dies das Plugin bereits mitliefert.

5. wp.seo

Das wpSEO stammt von deutschen Entwicklern und bezeichnet sich selbst als Schweizer Taschenmesser für SEO. Das kostenpflichtige SEO Plugin gibt es bereits für einmalige 39 €. Es kann aber auch für 30 Tage kostenlos getestet werden. das Plugin bietet dabei die wichtigsten Funktionen für eine gute Onepage Optimierung, darunter Title, Meta Descirpotn, und Sitemap. Ob als Laie oder Profi, wpSEO ist eines der besten Plugins für die Suchmaschinenoptimierung. Viele Einstellungen die wpSEO vorschlägt können einfach automatisch übernommen werden. Im Gegensatz zu anderen wpSEO Plugins benötigt wp SEO weniger Arbeitsspeicher und ist sogar etwas schneller als Yoast.

Fazit - Warum ich mich für Rank Math entschieden habe Durch meine Aufgaben als Virtuelle Assistenz lernte ich das Plugin Yoast SEO intensiver kennen und schätzen. Nahezu auf allen Nischenseiten arbeitete ich mit Yoast oder Delucks SEO. Trotzdem nervten mich die grünen Ampeln manchmal und es bleib immer so ein Bauchgefühl ob Yoast die richtige Wahl ist oder nicht. Anfang April bin ich dann auf Rank Math gestoßen und habe das Plugin einem Test unterzogen. Den Wechsel habe ich nicht bereut, den bei Rank Math wurde mir genau gezeigt, wo ich meine Inhalte optimieren kann und wie ich mein Ranking verbessern kann. Celebrating Hollandsche Medieval

/Hollandsche Medieval was designed by Sjoerd Hendrik de Roos in 1912, in response to the growing need for an iconic Dutch typeface. The foundry that released it was Amsterdam Type. Hollandsche Medieval was instantly popular, with glowing appraisal written about the font within a week of the publication. Graphic artist R. N. Roland Holst praised the typeface as “being beautiful in simplicity.” R. F. van Royer commented on how Hollandsche Medieval was “steering clear of later narrow typefaces.”

Within a few years, major publishing houses began using the font. By the 1930s, many printing presses through the Netherlands used Hollandsche Medieval typeface, its popularity skyrocketing.

The success De Roos found in his Hollandsche typeface inspired him to create several other typefaces including Zilvertype, Libra, and Meidoorn. He considered Zilvertype as being an improved version of Hollandsche as it had a simpler composition. De Roos did consider creating a lighter italic roman version of this typeface but was unable to because of financial reasons.

Hollandsche Medieval was made with the Linotype machine which was invented by Ottmar Mergenthaler (1880s). The keyboard released brass molds which were arranged in a line and then cast with molten metal. The created line was then available for printing on paper.

Despite the convenience of this typeset machine, the typeface’s composition suffered because of the Normablinie, a standard line that set the maximum height of descenders on the typeface. The machine also required the line width of the italic font to match the Roman style. These regulations were a source of agitation for De Roos who often referred to it as “that dumb Prussian standard line.”

Hollandsche Medieval is classifiable as a serif font, meaning that it has small decorative lines. It is strikingly similar to the currently popular Palatino and Bodoni in terms of serif placement. Hollandsche can also be identified as art nouveau with its decorative elements-serif crossbars, cupped feet, and curly italic variation. Its left-leaning counters and sloped bars are also reminiscent 0f Venetian Old Style.

Hollandsche Medieval was created as a family font which is shown in the cohesive similarities between the italic, bold (Grotius) and bold condensed styles. Unfortunately, outside of the Netherlands, this typeface is not as accessible or recognized as it was in the past. Part of the reason for its obscurity stems from the fact that the name is hard to pronounce/spell plus it was originally designed for the Dutch language.

Hollandsche had also failed to garner the same amount of popularity on the international level as it did in local companies. Instead, other more economically friendly serif typefaces-Egytienne, Meridien, and Courier-were easily adapted to photocomposition, replacing Hollandsche’s multi usage.

In spite of this, Hollandsche Medieval remains a popular choice in the Dutch printing industry. A revival of this typeface was attempted in the form of rebranding: as Dutch Medieval. Dutch Medieval enjoyed some online success with its extensive Latin alphabet and DutchPro/SciType versions. It is currently housed by the Canda Type foundry.

The Amsterdam Type Foundry later merged with Tetterode who in 2000 endowed Linotype with the copyrights and licenses of all their typefaces, including Hollandsche Medieval. Dutch Medieval is available for purchase, either as a single font or the complete expanded library of 22 fonts.

Font Experimentation

Here are some of the fonts I looked at and played around with. I compiled them all into one post instead of taking each individual screenshot of the word. I wanted something clean and simple, yet I did experiment with other styles of fonts as you can see.

The font is an important part of the magazine as you need to be able to read it clearly yet not have it too boring as it will deduct from the whole aesthetic of your magazine. As my magazine was planned and is very minimalist I wanted a clean but bold text.

The fonts I have above are: Bahnschrift Light, Arial Nova, Bookman Old, Lucida Fax, Sitka Small, Viner Hand ITC, Arial Black, Courier New, Georgia, Rockwell Condensed, Harrington, and Palatino Linotype.

Ways by HG Nadel to Make Your Book Editing Experience Better

Many new authors are filled with fear of the editing process. They envision a witch with a red pen, gleefully butchering their precious manuscript.

Actually, working with a professional book editor can be a richly rewarding and enjoyable experience, if you have the proper mind-set and preparation. Follow these steps suggested by HG Nadel a writer to ensure that your editing process is smooth and affordable:

1. Edit your manuscript yourself. Editors charge by the hour. So, to keep your costs down, be sure your manuscript is in good shape before you send it to your editor.

After you finish writing, wait a few days, and then begin your self-edit. Use spell check and grammar check first, paying close attention to revising sentences in the passive tense. Your computer will point those out to you automatically.

Then, print a hard copy of your entire book and read it with a red pen. You will see many more errors when you are not reading on your computer screen. Next, email the manuscript to one or two trusted friends with a good eye. Ask them to alert you if any parts of your book are unclear or repetitive. Use their feedback to correct your manuscript one final time.

2. Prepare your manuscript for editing. Change your font to Palatino Linotype size 12 or other easy-to-read font like Verdana or Georgia. Use single spacing. It's okay to having bolding, bullet points, italics, and subheadings in your manuscript if you like. If you don't want to add those elements, your typesetter will insert them for you.

3. Hire an editor whom you like and trust. HG Nadel always suggests getting a referral. There are many people who advertise editing services.

Ask your potential editor for a written bid and a sample edit of one of the paragraphs from your manuscript. You'll be able to access the turnaround time, editing style, and communication style of your potential editor to make sure it is a fit for you.

4. Create a good working relationship with your editor. Your editor is your best friend, not your enemy. The suggestions that he or she makes are intended to improve your book not to tear down your writing style. Remember the goal of the editing process: to make your book sparkle. Be open, cooperative, and willing to discuss any suggested changes that seem wrong to you.

5. Be responsive. After your editor goes over your manuscript, you will be asked to review and approval all the changes. If it takes you an excessively long time to do this, you will delay your book production significantly. Build time in your schedule to review your edits within two weeks of receipt. When you finish, your editor will go through your manuscript one last time to catch any final errors. When that step is completed, celebrate! You now have a beautiful manuscript, ready to represent you professionally to the world.
