SAMYA (SAMANTHA) AMARI
Origin: asalee (human facsimile)
Status: organic
Nationality/Ethnicity: British, Pakistani-Uzbek
Age: 31 (date of birth July 1st, 2011)
Occupation: N/A
About:
Samya Amari is the Mallory clone of Mia Safarova and Oman Khurshid. She was raised as their daughter, and doesn’t know how she was actually created.
As a Mallory clone, Samya is part of the conjugate family, and has a Base of 5. This gives her the ability to use clairvoyance, which includes mind-reading, a primitive form of hypnosis, and manipulating electric fields. Though she knows how to use her powers to some extent, she was discouraged by her parents from exploring her full strength, out of fear that she may not be able to properly control them and as a result hurt herself or others. Due to being a Mallory clone, she has weakened bones and muscles in her left hip down to her ankle. A shortened achilles heel and atrophy in her calf resulted in her developing club foot, and though it was later corrected with surgery, she cannot walk long distances unassisted. She uses a forearm crutch.
Samya is a socialite as a result of her clairvoyance, and gets along with almost everyone. However, she has trouble reading social cues and expressions. While stubborn, she is also easily frustrated, and is prone to paranoia; she tries to keep a cautiously optimistic attitude despite that. Samya enjoys needlepoint embroidery, anything apple flavored, and collecting long scarves.
Background:
Samya was created and born in the Mallory’s Liverpool lab. For the first six months of her life, she lived there with Mia and Cassandra, and was subjected to numerous tests of her clairvoyance. Even as an adult, she has a bald spot on the back of her head from electrodes implanted into her brain as a baby, though she does not remember it.
After Oman got her out of the lab, him and Mia tried to give her as normal of a life as possible, although she had a very lonely childhood. She was homeschooled to hide her from the Mallorys, then as she was set to begin at a small university in London, the war broke out. While she still attended virtual classes and graduated with a degree in physics (with focus in material science), she still found herself with little to no social life or friends. Worse yet, she also finds out around this time that she’s incapable of having children. Shortly after she’s told her mother has died, which worsens her already building depression.
She lives quietly with Oman until 2040, until she discovers that her mother might not actually be dead. Oman refuses to answer any questions about his or Mia’s past, or even how Samya got her clairvoyance. Angered by his silence, they have a rough falling out and she leaves to finally live on her own. For two years she follows loose threads on the Mallorys and her mother, but grows discouraged when all she gets are dead ends. In 2042, she suddenly gets the tip that Mona Nibhanupudi, who was closely involved with the Mallorys, has a daughter living just a car ride away.
#ouro#mine#samya’s childhood was ‘normal’ so her background is significantly shorter than deep’s LMAO#now i have to decide whether to write oman or mia’s next. both are equally dictionary-length#character#samya

Ten Interesting Pakistani Novels
Under the Persimmon Tree by Suzanne Staples (Summary by Amazon)
Najmah, a young Afghan girl whose name means "star," suddenly finds herself alone when her father and older brother are conscripted by the Taliban and her mother and newborn brother are killed in an air raid. An American woman, Elaine, whose Islamic name is Nusrat, is also on her own. She waits out the war in Peshawar, Pakistan, teaching refugee children under the persimmon tree in her garden while her Afghan doctor husband runs a clinic in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. Najmah's father had always assured her that the stars would take care of her, just as Nusrat's husband had promised that they would tell Nusrat where he was and that he was safe. As the two look to the skies for answers, their fates entwine. Najmah, seeking refuge and hoping to find her father and brother, begins the perilous journey through the mountains to cross the border into Pakistan. And Nusrat's persimmon-tree school awaits Najmah's arrival. Together, they both seek their way home.
2.) The Diary of a Social Butterfly by Moni Mohsin (Summary by Amazon)
This is the hugely entertaining journal of a socialite in Lahore. Pakistan may be making headlines - but Butterfly is set to conquer the world. 'Everyone knows me. All of Lahore, all of Karachi, all of Isloo - oho, baba, Islamabad - half of Dubai, half of London and all of Khan Market and all the nice, nice bearers in Imperial Hotel also...No ball, no party, no dinner, no coffee morning, no funeral, no GT - Get-Together, baba - is complete without me.' Meet Butterfly, Pakistan's most lovable, silly, socialite. An avid party-goer-inspired misspeller, and unwittingly acute observer of Pakistani high society, Butterfly is a woman like no other. In her world, SMS becomes S & M and people eat 'three tiara cakes' while shunning 'do number ka manual. 'What cheeks!' as she would say. As her country faces tribulations - from 9/11 to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto - Butterfly glides through her world, unfazed, untouched, and stopped short only by the chip in her manicure. Wicked, irreverent, and hugely entertaining, "The Diary of a Social Butterfly" gives you a delicious glimpse into the parallel universe of the have-musts.
3.) Maps for Lost Lovers by Nadeem Aslam (Summary by Amazon)
If Gabriel García Márquez had chosen to write about Pakistani immigrants in England, he might have produced a novel as beautiful and devastating as Maps for Lost Lovers. Jugnu and Chanda have disappeared. Like thousands of people all over England, they were lovers and living together out of wedlock. To Chanda’s family, however, the disgrace was unforgivable. Perhaps enough so as to warrant murder. As he explores the disappearance and its aftermath through the eyes of Jugnu’s worldly older brother, Shamas, and his devout wife, Kaukab, Nadeem Aslam creates a closely observed and affecting portrait of people whose traditions threaten to bury them alive. The result is a tour de force, intimate, affecting, tragic and suspenseful.
4.) A Season for Martyrs by Bina Shah (Summary by Amazon)
October 2007. Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto returns home after eight years of exile to seek political office once more. Assigned to cover her controversial arrival is TV journalist Ali Sikandar, the estranged son of a wealthy landowner from the interior region of Sindh. While her presence ignites fierce protests and assassination attempts, Ali finds himself irrevocably drawn to the pro-democracy People’s Resistance Movement, a secret that sweeps him into the many contradictions of a country still struggling to embrace modernity. As Shah weaves together the centuries-old history of Ali’s feudal family and its connection to the Bhuttos, she brilliantly reveals a story at the crossroads of the personal and the political, a chronicle of one man’s desire to overcome extremity to find love, forgiveness, and even identity itself.
5.) Karachi, You’re Killing Me! by Saba Imtiaz (Summary by Amazon)
Ayesha is a twenty-something reporter in one of the world’s most dangerous cities. Her assignments range from showing up at bomb sites and picking her way through scattered body parts to interviewing her boss’s niece, the couture-cupcake designer. In between dicing with death and absurdity, Ayesha despairs over the likelihood of ever meeting a nice guy, someone like her old friend Saad, whose shoulder she cries on after every romantic misadventure. Her choices seem limited to narcissistic, adrenaline-chasing reporters who’ll do anything to get their next story—to the spoilt offspring of the Karachi elite who’ll do anything to cure their boredom. Her most pressing problem, however, is how to straighten her hair during chronic power outages. Karachi, You’re Killing Me! is Bridget Jones’s Diary meets The Diary of a Social Butterfly—a comedy of manners in a city with none.
6.) How It Happened by Shazaf Fatima Haider (Summary by Amazon)
Dadi, the imperious matriarch of the Bandian family in Karachi, swears by the virtues of arranged marriage. All her ancestors including a dentally and optically challenged aunt have been perfectly well-served by such arrangements. But her grandchildren are harder to please. Haroon, the apple of her eye, has to suffer half a dozen candidates until he finds the perfect Shia-Syed girl of his dreams. But it is Zeba, his sister, who has the tougher time, as she is accosted by a bevy of suitors, including a potbellied cousin and a banker who reeks of sesame oil. Told by the witty, hawk-eyed Saleha, the precocious youngest sibling, this is a romantic, amusing and utterly delightful story about how marriages are made and unmade---not in heaven, but in the drawing room and over the phone.
7.) A Case of Exploding Mangoes by Shazaf Fatima Haider (Summary by Amazon)
Intrigue and subterfuge combine with bad luck and good in this darkly comic debut about love, betrayal, tyranny, family, and a conspiracy trying its damnedest to happen. Ali Shigri, Pakistan Air Force pilot and Silent Drill Commander of the Fury Squadron, is on a mission to avenge his father's suspicious death, which the government calls a suicide.Ali's target is none other than General Zia ul-Haq, dictator of Pakistani. Enlisting a rag-tag group of conspirators, including his cologne-bathed roommate, a hash-smoking American lieutenant, and a mango-besotted crow, Ali sets his elaborate plan in motion. There's only one problem: the line of would-be Zia assassins is longer than he could have possibly known.
8.) Home Fire: A Novel by Kamila Shamise (Summary by Amazon)
Isma is free. After years of watching out for her younger siblings in the wake of their mother’s death, she’s accepted an invitation from a mentor in America that allows her to resume a dream long deferred. But she can’t stop worrying about Aneeka, her beautiful, headstrong sister back in London, or their brother, Parvaiz, who’s disappeared in pursuit of his own dream, to prove himself to the dark legacy of the jihadist father he never knew. When he resurfaces half a globe away, Isma’s worst fears are confirmed. Then Eamonn enters the sisters’ lives. Son of a powerful political figure, he has his own birthright to live up to—or defy. Is he to be a chance at love? The means of Parvaiz’s salvation? Suddenly, two families’ fates are inextricably, devastatingly entwined, in this searing novel that asks: What sacrifices will we make in the name of love?
9.) She Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Zeenat Mahal (Summary by Amazon)
Zoella didn’t know whether she was devastatingly happy or happily devastated. Zoella has been in love with Fardeen Malik, her best friend’s gorgeous older brother, since she was ten, but he’s always seen her as a ‘good girl’—not his type—and he can barely remember her name. Besides, he’s engaged to a gorgeous leggy socialite, someone from the same rarefied social strata as the imposing Malik family. In short, Zoella has no chance with him. Until a brutal accident leaves Fardeen scarred and disfigured, that is. Suddenly bereft of a fiancée, Fardeen is bitterly caustic, a shell of the man he used to be, a beast that has broken out of the fairy tale world he once lived in. And a twist of fate lands him his very own beauty—Zoella. This man, however, is a far cry from the Fardeen of her dreams. Stripped of her illusions, Zoella creates her own twist in the fairy tale, beating him at his own game. Order now and read this modern, unusual interpretation of the old-age fairy tale, in which Zeenat explores the themes of love, longing, and arranged marriages.
10.) Undying Affinity by Sara Naveed (Summary by Amazon)
Twenty-two-year-old, Zarish Munawwar, has everything in life she could ever ask for; an elite family, a high profile status, a bunch of good friends and a childhood sweetheart. Being childish, stubborn, imperious, extravagant and a bit impulsive at making important decisions pertaining to her life, is what perfectly describes her overall personality. She takes life easily and can get anything she desires. To her, life is a bed of roses. It is only when she meets, Ahmar Muraad, her mentor and finance professor at university, her perspective towards life completely changes. He looks quite young for his age as every girl at the university thinks he is attractive, seductive, intellectual and rather intimidating. This charming man is every girl's fantasy and Zarish also finds it hard to resist him. But is he fascinated by her? Little did Zarish know how one little interaction could bring about so many twists and turns in her life. After continuous unsuccessful attempts to avoid him, she feels that she is gradually falling for his charm. Ahmar, however, remains oblivious to her feelings. She is ready to abandon her childhood sweetheart for him. Eventually, there comes a time when only he matters to her and nobody else. Awestruck by the sudden revelation, she is dazed to find out that he feels exactly the same for her. Before their love blossoms, a slight tragedy falls into their lives. Zia Munawwar, her father, has some other plans for his daughter. Will Ahmar fight against the world for his lady love or step back? Do not miss this romantic tragedy as it will encapsulate you totally and will stay in your heart forever

[stream of thought written in a podcast twitch stream discord server]
Okay gamers
I have a far-fetched idea I'd like to open to public discussion
So it's not an uncommon practice, or so I've heard, for writers to send free copies of their work to well regarded book reviewers
However I'm considering something with not only a different context but a slightly different motive
What is one to do when said critic is not only a media critic but a commentator with their own microcelebrity?
Not a dedicated critic per se but a person who discusses novels very informally in perhaps even a "twitch stream"
And is intellectually interesting enough that an unpublished aspiring writer would be curious to share a work even with no expectation of publicity?
See I haven't actually read any Kim Stanley Robinson myself but I've been recommended him by an academic of environmental policy in a discussion of ecofiction and what was then a WIP manuscript
I had a strange experience in an airport in North Carolina just under two months ago where I, wandering through a labyrinth of Auntie Annie's Pretzel's shops and fiddling with the auditory entertainment options of a new phone, stumbled across a rambling review of Ministry for the Future and spent the next several hours of travel going down a rabbit hole of intellectually stimulating background noise.
And though I can't ascribe any conscious emotional significance to it, that moment has been seared into me as one of the handful of windows I feel earnestly nostalgic peering into despite its proximity.
Over the course of said travel I also scratched the climax of a now-completed manuscript into a composition notebook, later to be transcribed and custom printed to be shared with an assortment of unexpected readers including a friend in the same Brooklyn socialite circles as certain podcasters and a middle aged Pakistani poet.
And though this airport moment was not necessarily formative to the nearly-completed manuscript itself I feel it would complete a circle somehow and feel personally fulfilling for the voice I heard then to read even a single page of the final product.
And yet I have no idea how to achieve this. 🪲 Quite a puzzle

A million thoughts raced through the detective’s mind at once. Her initial reaction was to lunge for him, to grab his throat in her hands and squeeze until his lips turned blue and the life drained from his eyes. But she couldn’t, not here in the middle of a crowded ballroom; and more to the matter, she wasn’t sure that’s what her father would have wanted, or if it’s even what she wanted. In the years that had passed she’d pictured this moment many times, envisioning multiple scenarios of public humiliation, or private torture, or a combination of both. No form of retribution seemed too severe, nor completely appropriate.
The exercise had always seemed a fantasy, though, and she’d always had the luxury of imagination without the restraint of practicality. At no time had she ever expected to be face to face with the man, and certainly not in a context where the only ones surrounding them were a coterie of socialites who could do nothing to stop any force she might perpetrate. Now, presented with the actual situation she’d practiced thousands of times in her head, she was confronted by the multitude of possibilities and found herself frozen with indecision. A myriad of voices trapped inside her all screamed furiously forward various iterations of fight or flight, scream or sob, and trapped behind all of them a single, mournful image of her father’s casket draped in a flag.
Instead, she breathed deep and long, steadying herself with a pull from her glass. The color and warmth still flushed her face, her knees weak, her head swimming; anyone looking hard would no doubt recognize the inner conflict, no matter how subtle. She’d been here many times before- on helicopter approaches viewed through thermographic optics, on night watches overlooking rural Pakistani villages… and propped on an aluminum folding chair at the rear of a South African funeral parlor. It was, in many ways, her nature; not by choice or inclination but necessity.
The detective swallowed her pride deep through gritted teeth and offered a hand. “I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure, no. Detective Inspector Chatham, His Royal Majesty’s Enquiry Service.”
The man took her hand with a gentleness she hadn’t expected from a veteran of the Commonwealth’s military campaigns. Her recollection was that Travers had been an aviation mechanic before he’d moved into the intelligence service, and then Internal Security. She suspected that the military posting had been purely performative; his father was the Viscount Hulmeville, a title that would some day pass to him. The family was old aristocracy, running back at least to the Victorians; they’d owned a slew of coal mines in Yorkshire, and when the demand for fossil fuels had dried up they’d made another fortune converting and leasing the land for agricultural use. The current Viscount’s son had likely been long groomed for a position in the Government, and it came as no surprise to Chatham that he now held a seat on the Consortium’s Board. Like always does seem to attract like.
“Sir Roger Travers,” he said flatly. If he recognized the detective at all, he didn’t show it. They’d had an official military funeral for her father, but only her mother had attended. She’d been too overcome with grief to handle the cameras and the pageantry over an incident she’d always felt could have been avoided. The then-Minister had offered token condolences to her mother, and thanked her for her father’s sacrifice. Days later Chatham had seen him making rounds on the news circuit, defending the Service’s use of force and decrying the “rioters and terrorists” for forcing his hand. Evidently he’d been knighted in the interim, and she hoped deeply it was for some other “service” to the crown.
“The detective is investigating some thefts from our warehouses and fabs,” the Lady explained.
“So I’ve heard,” Travers replied. “And how is your investigation going, inspector?”
“I’m not sure I’m at liberty to discuss that in public,” Chatham countered. She was gripping her glass so tightly that it was at risk of cracking the crystal and compressing the peat in the whiskey into diamond.
Newby-Ross turned and shooed away her retinue of followers with a simple wave, and they disappeared without complaint as if scattered apart by a subtle wind. The detective was impressed at the authority the lady commanded; she may be a member of the peerage but those titles were more ceremonial than authoritative, or at least Chatham had thought.
“Continue, Detective,” she instructed.
“Mum, if it’s all the same, I sent a copy of our report to the Earl, but I haven’t had a chance to debrief him personally yet, and as he’s the head of the Consortium I’d prefer…” the inspector started awkwardly willing herself to be anywhere else.
“Come, come, out with it,” the heiress beckoned, with a tone that indicated she was not accustomed to accepting refusal. “James is in Singapore for at least another few days, and I have full authority from the Board to act as his proxy in emergencies, isn’t that right Roger?”
“That’s correct,” he confirmed, obviously also anxious to hear what the detective had to say without having to get it second-hand through the filters of the Consortium’s management. And so their plan was now laid bare, just as Chatham had surmised. She swore to herself silently, for what must have the hundredth time that week.
“Well, mum, we, by which I mean Mister Santomas and I…” Chatham started, gesturing toward the engineer beside her. If she was going to be dragged into this, she wasn’t going alone. “We visited one of the autofabricators in the Carribean that was reporting a strange status. What we found was quite irregular.”
“They were up and running,” Davis chimed in, accepting his role in the pageantry.
“I thought all of the Carribean units were shut down,” Travers said.
“They’re supposed to be,” the engineer replied.
“What do you mean ‘supposed to be’? I thought these things were impossible to access except by our people?” the Lady said.
“They’re supposed to be,” Santomas said again.
“And what were they doing?” Newby-Ross pressed.
“It appeared they were manufacturing weapons, and some kind of… drug, or something. We found several smugglers inside the loading area but they got away before I could apprehend them,” the detective explained.
“You let them get away?” Travers exclaimed, suddenly very animated. Many in the crowd turned toward the new commotion, but the Lady turned, smiled brightly, and shooed everyone back to their revelry.
“They were armed, sir, and we weren’t exactly expecting a fight. We were lucky to escape unharmed,” she said, frustration evident and a mixture of panic and wrath threatening to bubble to the surface. “We’re running facial recognition through the various Commonwealth databases.”
“And what about these ‘drugs’ you mentioned?” the Lady Swansea continued.
“I don’t know, mum. I’m running an analysis on the chemical structure in the labs, but it’s complicated,” Santomas interjected, perhaps sensing the inspector’s unease. “Chemistry’s not really my area of expertise, and it’s got a weird composition.”
“Is it the same thing you found off the African coast?”
“It appears so, but we are trying to confirm that,” Chatham said.
“How did they get access to the fabs in the first place?” Travers asked.
“I don’t know, sir. We’re still trying to work that out,” the engineer said.
“Well what the bloody hell do you know?” the board member growled.
The detective nearly reached her breaking point. She could apparently handle the subtle discourtesy of being summoned here, forced to bow and dance and sing at the whims of the aristocracy, to hide her anger and hold her tongue, but the disrespect shown for her professional efforts pushed her to the limit. Chatham raised her arm in fury, intending to unload on the former Minister, but as she did so, the Lady Swansea put her hand gently on his shoulder.
“I’m sure they’re doing their best, Roger,” she chided him quietly,. “Thank you, Detective, for your efforts. I have the utmost confidence you will bring these nefarious criminals to justice. I think that’s enough shop talk for today, though, don’t you think? I believe they’ll be serving dinner shortly. Lamb chops I think. Sustainably source from the local farms, of course.”
Travers bristled and nodded vaguely in Chatham and Santomas’ direction before heading off to join the Lady’s original group. The hostess leaned in closely to embrace the detective and air-kiss her cheeks. “I’m sorry about that,” she whispered. “He can be… well. I have faith in you. Please enjoy the rest of the evening. I know James is quite looking forward to your report.”
The heiress turned on a heel with practiced ease, threw her hands in the air in exaggerated jubilation, and returned to her original crowd.
Santomas stood sheepishly, not sure what to do or say. “Well that was… terrible. Any other awkward conversations you want to drag me into tonight, or can I go back to drinking myself into oblivion?”
Chatham took a deep breath, trying to slow her pulse and her thoughts. Whatever she was expecting from the moment she met her father’s indirect executioner, that certainly had not been it. But she had survived unscathed, physically at least. It would take a long time for her to process the feelings of fury and disdain that were currently causing her hands to tremble uncontrollably and a bead of cold sweat to run down her spine.
“Yes, Mister Santomas, but only if you take me with you.”

9. The Divine Marvel (Mary Marvel/Ms Marvel)
It’s kinda funny that probably the first teenage superheroine has nearly the same name as one of the most recent to reach critical acclaim. Especially since the whole “Captain Marvel” name itself is a fiasco and a half that’s really ripping off the first epithet of Superman (“The Living Marvel” as described in the first line of Action Comics No. 1).
Personality wise, the two are similar, but their backgrounds could not be more different. They’re both very upbeat and positive characters, if someone naive, but they shed their green and become heroes in their own right! As for backgrounds, however, Mary Batson is an orphan adopted by socialite status before meeting her much less fortune, long lost brother Billy Batson(I’ll let you figure out the rest from there). Kamala Khan, on the other hand, is a Pakistani Muslim immigrant trying to make her way in New Jersey whilst feeling out of place amongst her peers.
Bridging this gap between the two whilst staying true to both characters is rather straightforward. This Amalgamized character is the child of first-generation immigrants that made a sizable fortune before moving to the Northeastern United States. Due to their wealth and the growing stigma around Muslim immigrants, her parents often sheltered her from the outside world, and she always felt disconnected from her classmates at a preppy private school.
As for powers, one is a flying brick, whilst the other is a polymorph. Not exactly the most compatible powers in the world, but we can work with them. My plan is for this power combination to vaguely resemble Majinn Buu of Dragon Ball fame, with the all of the powers of a electrically-charged champion of Shazam(plus needing to use a magic name of some sort to activate the powers) combined with shape shifting akin to a polymorph. This is explained as having minor abilities of divine beings(never explicitly stated whether it’s of a monotheistic or polytheistic origin, just that she has divine strength, speed, flight, lightning, shapeshifting, and compassion).
No matter the direction this character is taken, the Marvels would honestly make the best of friends, and I do not accept anything else.

Vocal Pineapple made a video reimaging western superheroes as what they would be like if they were characters in My Hero Academia universe and made to fit said universe. I want to do the same thing with other heroes he never mentioned in the video as a fun thought exercise. I might make another one of these if I think of more.
(As a side note, I’m not doing Spiderman since Vocal Pineapple already tackled that one. Same goes for the other characters he talked about in the video. I won’t talk about Superman, since I think All Might is BNHA’s version of that character already. xP)
Bruce Wayne: Bruce is a quirkless man, who was a part of one of the wealthiest families in the US. Bruce’s parents died while he was a small child. Instead of vowing revenge and wanting to take them down, he started his own hero agency. Other socialites in his city saw this as a strange pursuit, especially given the fact that he had no quirk and never went to a hero school, but Bruce did it anyways and started Batman Incorporated. Over the years, many people worked for him including Barbara, Tim, Luke, etc. Also, during those years he adopted a few boys and had a biological son in the form of Damian.
Ra’s: He’s an Arab man with a longevity and healing quirk, which slows his aging down to a crawl. In fact, he was one of the first quirk users around, born around the same time as All for One. Back when he was alive, Ra’s was the head of the League of Assassins and was one of the big names in the underground alongside All for One. He didn’t like this, so he took out the competition by stealing Ra’s’ quirk. He died shortly after. That’s how All for One is able to live for so long without dying. (After he dies, Talia inherits The League from her father and hatches a plan to have a child with Bruce so he could take down All for One and rule the criminal underground.)
Damian Wayne/Robin: Son of Tailia and Bruce, his quirk, which he inherited from his mother, allows him to predict the moves of his opponents. (With the downside being that he has to make eye contact with them for it to activate.) He was raised by his mother to be the prefect assassin and was the heir to his late grandfather’s empire.
When he first came to live with his father, he was a spoiled brat and saw himself as a prince, everyone around him found him quite annoying. He struggled with the duelling sides of himself–The Assassin Prince and The Son of Batman. Over the course of his adolescence, after much struggle, he calmed down considerably and became a pretty well adjusted adult. He can still be intimidating and badass when he wants to be, even having a sword cane.
In the current timeline, ie when the manga is taking place, he’s an attractive man in his late 20s. He’s married to Kimiko Queen, the half sister of another wealthy socialite, Oliver Queen, and a fellow a former assassin, who works for another hero agency. Damian inherited his father’s company after the aging Bruce retired shortly after he graduated from hero school. Many people work for him, including some fresh talent like Terry (who’s not related to Bruce in this version).
Dick Greyson/Robin/Nightwing: He started off as an acrobat with an agility quirk, who worked long side his family before they passed away. Bruce adopted him and he became Robin while doing his provisional licence. During his early 20s, instead of sticking to his adopted dad’s agency and becoming like Batman, he decided to go down his own path. He did a stint at some hero agencies as Nightwing, being in the Top 10 Heroes List for America for a few years, before deciding to become a teacher at an American hero school and settling down with Barbara. All of the students love him there, since he’s patient and always helps out young students in need.
Tony Stark/Iron Man: He’s another quirkless scientist on I-Island, who created a technologically advanced suit. After his technology gets into the wrong hands, he makes sure that it would never happen again. Expect many dick wagging contests between him and Melissa’s dad over who comes up with the better stuff. He also mentored Peter Parker before Peter passed away right out of high school and then Miles.
Scott Lang/Ant Man (going with the MCU versions for this): He started out as a criminal, who wanted to get money to save his sick daughter by stealing some tech from the company his brother used to work for. One day, he’s tasked to go to I-Island to steal some top secret tech for a group of thugs. He’s caught by Hank Pym. Since he tried to steal for him to help his daughter and had a transforming quirk, the aging doctor offers him up the opportunity to work for him and test out his new suit. Scott agrees and he’s used as the guinea pig for his new powered suit. Now, he’s as an official hero working for Hank Pym with the help of his daughter.
Kamala/Ms Marvel: She’s a Pakistani-American teenager, who attends an American hero school around the same time as Deku and has a quirk where she can morph the size and shape of her body. (Think Mr Fantastic, but with the drawback that she has the strength of those sizes). She’s also still pretty nerdy and loves geeking out over heroes like Deku.
Robbie Reyes/ Ghost Rider: A Latino American with a quirk that allows his whole body to be engulfed in flames without dying or getting burnt and control them. (Think Endeavour’s quirk, but with less control of it if he’s emotional.) He’s a younger hero who is based out of a hero agency in the US. He also uses a motorbike to do his work to separate himself from Endeavour and born with a skull for a head, earning him the name “Ghost Rider.” He’s also does some side work at the US version of UA and a lot of the kids love him as a teacher.
Diana/ Wonder Woman: Born a normal human during the first generation of quirk users, she had a strength quirk that even allowed her to jump long distances and deflect bullets. During this time things were out of control without any rules in place, she went out and caught evil doers anyways. In modern times, long after her passing, her legacy lives on and she’s seen as an idol to young girls, who want to get into the hero business.
Dr Strange: He’s a doctor turned hero, who has a quirk that allows him to manipulate matter. Don’t know what else to add other then that, really.
T'Challa/Black Panther: The king of an African nation, he has a quirk that gives him the skills of a panther. (Think something like Tsuyu’s quirk, but with panther powers and he doesn’t have any panther psychical features like a tail or something.) He decides to use his powers more often to help out his own people and others are in desperate need of his help around the world.
Arthur Curry/Aqua Man: Instead of being the king of the sea, he’s just the son of a lighthouse keeper with a quirk that allows him to control sea life. He joins Mera and starts up his own hero agency. He has two protegees: Aqua Lad and Tempest.
Aqua Lad: Jackson Hyde is the son of an accountant and the villain Black Manta, making him rather self conscious about his image and how others in the business perceive him. Despite being the son of his greatest foe, Arthur wanted him to do his provisional licence training with him. He has a quirk that allows him to manipulate water like a Water Bender from the ATLA universe…without the healing abilities. Personality wise, he’s like his Young Justice counterpart.
Jaime Reyes/ Blue Beetle: He’s a boy living in El Paso,Texas. He has an pulse cannon quirk that allows him to able to create an outward surge of energy wherever his hand is pointing, damaging anyone in a close vicinity. (His friends Paco and Brenda often tease him about being the human version of a cinnamon roll, despite having the power to take out All Might if he wanted to.)
One day while visiting his friend Miles Morales on I-Island, Ted Cord’s lab gets attacked and the scarab that he was creating attaches itself to his spin. The scarab turns out to be armour that has the ability to shape shift and has a highly advance AI (think JARVAS from the MCU). However, due to it not being fully realized yet, it has some glitches and bugs like the AI saying that he needs to use his quirk to destroy others that makes Jaime fear it. Branch of the League of Villains located in the US, The Reach, try to control the scarab in order to turn the boy into a living weapon for All for One, but Jaime stops that plan and the scarab becoming friendly to him.
Oh yeah, he’s also friends with Tracy 13 and Impulse.
Jon Stewart/Green Lantern: He’s a former solider turned hero with a quirk that allows him to create anything, but can only due it when he has another object at hand. (Kinda like a mixture of being an alchemist in the FMA universe and Momo’s quirk.)

The Greatest Female Marvel Super Heroes
The Marvel Universe is massive. There are thousands of characters from different realities, timelines, spaces, and places, all sourced from nearly 80 years of magnificent Marvel material. But across all of Marveldom, female Super Heroes have proven to be some of the most amazing, dynamic, powerful, sharp shooting, heavy hitting characters around.
With that in mind, Marvel decided to take the opportunity to spotlight a few of the most impressive women in Marvel Universe. So if you need to get up to speed on the invincible women of Marvel, you’ve come to the right spot.
Here are just a few of the greatest Super Heroes (who also happen to be women) ever. Check out the full list below.
Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers long dreamed of space exploration, so it’s fitting that she would grow up to become the leader of Alpha Flight and one of the most powerful spacefaring Super Heroes in existence!
She had an accomplished career even before gaining her powers, though. Working as an Air Force pilot, intelligence agent, and NASA employee, she investigated multiple attempts by the Kree and the Skrulls to disrupt the American space program. During a related battle, she was exposed to the Psyche-Magnitron, a Kree device that rewrote her DNA. This transformed her into a human-Kree hybrid and gave her powers similar to those of the Kree Mar-Vell, the original Catpain Marvel. Namely, she gained the abilities of flight, superhuman strength, and “binary” powers which, though largely dormant, give her the virtual strength of a sun.
For years she fought alongside Mar-Vell as Ms. Marvel. When he died, took over the moniker Captain Marvel as a tribute. In addition to leading Alpha Flight, she has also served as a leading member of the Avengers.
Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow
Black Widow aka Nat, is the epitome of everything that comes to mind when you think of a cool, always capable spy.
Born in the Soviet Union as Natalia Romanova, she was orphaned as a child. This difficult start then led Natasha down winding path to the Russian army and the Black Widow program, where she was trained to become a skilled assassin and enhanced with the Soviet version of the Super-Soldier serum. While her work required her to undertake some morally questionable missions, she ultimately defected to S.H.I.E.L.D., became an Avenger, and joined the forces of good.
Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Witch is definitely not someone you want to pick a fight with!
One of the planet’s most powerful magic wielders, she can manipulate chaos magic and warp reality. The complete history of her childhood is unknown, but she grew up in Eastern Europe with her twin brother Pietro (AKA Quicksilver). Local conflicts separated the twins from their parents, forcing Wanda to hide her growing powers. As they got older, Wanda and Pietro were taken in by the mutant master Magneto and joined his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Soon, however, they became disenchanted with the group and struck out on their own, with Wanda ultimately becoming an Avenger.
Jessica Jones
Jessica Jones is everyone’s favorite sarcastic, leather jacket-loving private eye.
When Jessica was a child, her father accidentally crashed the family car into a military truck. A canister filled with an unknown, experimental material crashed through the windshield and into Jessica’s lap. Her injuries sent her into a coma, but she ultimately recovered and discovered she had superhuman physical strength, the ability to fly, and enhanced resistance to injury. Her parents were killed in the accident, and she later suffered mind control and manipulation at the hands of the villain Killgrave (AKA the Purple Man), all of which scarred her emotionally.
For a period, she adopted the Super Hero name Jewel and fought villains alongside the Avengers. But that kind of crime fighting didn’t suit her, so she started Alias Investigations, a private detective firm where she now puts her cunning intelligence to good use.
Ororo Monroe AKA Storm
With the ability to manipulate weather patterns, Storm is one of the planet’s most powerful mutants.
She is the daughter of a Kenyan princess and an American photographer, though both parents were killed in a plane crash when Storm was young. Finding herself an orphan, Storm had little choice but to wander the streets and pick pockets to survive. However, her latent mutant abilities eventually manifested, giving her the opportunity to save the life of Prince T’Challa (the soon-to-be Black Panther), and to come into contact with Charles Xavier, who asked her to join a new version of the X-Men. Since then, Storm has built a legacy as a freedom fighter and a mentor to young mutants.
Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is a Pakistani-American, Muslim teen growing up in New Jersey that idolized the Avengers and, in particular, Captain Marvel.
When she was exposed to the transforming Terrigen Mist, her Inhuman powers manifested, giving her the ability to extend her limbs, grow in size, and shape shift in other ways. She began fighting villains under the name Ms. Marvel as a tribute to Carol, who ultimately became her mentor.
Ms. Marvel continues to fight alongside the Avengers and the Champions while, all the while, facing the everyday struggles of being a teenager.
Shuri
Shuri is the sister of T’Challa and the princess of Wakanda. Unfortunately, she spent much of her early life forced into the shadow of her brother, but after stopping an invasion of Wakanda and helping T’Challa recover after being attacked by Doctor Doom, Shuri stepped into her own.
She took the spotlight and, for a period, served as the Black Panther, proving herself to be a true hero. Though the mantle eventually went back to T’Challa, Shuri has continued to demonstrate her talents as a brilliant scientist. And, by ingesting a heart-shaped herb that grants her enhanced physical strength and donning a suit made of vibranium, she fights villains as a hero in her own right.
Gamora
After watching as Gamora’s parents were killed and her people wiped from existence, the Mad Titan Thanos took in the young women as his adoptive daughter. The Titan then raised her to be the “deadliest woman in the galaxy,” training her as an assassin.
Gamora became a highly talented fighter, practically unkillable, though Thanos’s tortuous mind games and punishing training took their toll. Eventually, Gamora broke ties with Thanos, joining the Guardians of the Galaxy in part as a way to seek redemption for the violence she had committed while still under his influence.
Jean Grey
She’s certainly not a woman to be underestimated.
Jean Grey had her telepathic mutant abilities first manifest at age 10 when she witnessed a close friend die. Her parents sought the advice of Charles Xavier, who is himself a mighty telepath. Xavier treated Jean and introduced her to the astral plane, at which point a part of her mind manifested as a Phoenix and her telekinetic powers grew.
She joined the X-Men and, while on a mission, was noticed by the Phoenix Force, which believed her to have unlimited potential. Ultimately, the Phoenix Force would take over her body and powers, and she would find herself in an extended struggle to retake control from it. However, when Jean was later killed, it was the Phoneix Force that resurrected her.
Janet Van Dyne AKA the Wasp
As a young socialite, Janet met Hank Pym, a brilliant scientist and the original Ant-Man, when her father (who was also a scientist) consulted him about a device he was building. Janet and Hank hit it off, and she eventually married him and began fighting villains at his side as the Wasp.
She wore a suit that, like his, used Pym Particles to allow her to shrink to the point of being microscopic or, alternatively, to dramatically grow in size. She would also sprout antennae and gain the ability to fly when at her smaller size. Janet became a founding member of the Avengers, and in fact led the team for an extended period; Janet even gave the team their name. These days, Janet mentors Hank’s previously unknown daughter Nadia, who is also a genius scientist and has taken over the mantle of the Wasp.
Laura Kinney AKA X-23
Wolverine has spent much of his life as a loner, with few people who could truly relate to the struggles he has faced. But the one person who might understand him is Laura Kinney.
Created from Wolverine’s stolen DNA, she was made to be a perfect killing machine. The leaders of a top-secret program tasked Doctor Sarah Kinney with recreating the Weapon X experiment that transformed Logan into Wolverine. Laura was born as a result of these experiments, and was trained to be a cold and unfeeling killer. But X-23 isn’t the type to allow her fate to be determined by others, and she eventually escaped. Though she led a bit of a checkered life after that, she found her way to Charles Xavier and, later, the Avengers Academy.
Doreen Green AKA Squirrel Girl
If you’re looking for a hero who has both fighting prowess and an endlessly spunky, optimistic spirit, you’re in luck!
For unknown reasons, Doreen Green began to develop odd, squirrel-like features at a young age, including buck teeth and a bushy tail. She soon gained the relative strength and agility of a squirrel which, taking into account her human size, gave her formidable powers. To escape the taunts of her classmates, she began spending much of her time in the woods, where she bonded with the squirrels there and learned to communicate with them.
She saved the life of a squirrel named Monkey Joe, who encouraged her to use her abilities to help others. Due to her interest in science, she idolized Tony Stark and soon found herself in a position to fight Doctor Doom by his side. This launched her on the path to becoming an unbeatable Super Hero and an Avenger.
