“I’m wearing carpet pants from an independent designer in Pakistan called The Factory Edit, my shirt is from a random NYC tourist shop in Chinatown, leopard print coat is from Michael Kors and hat is from Global Village in Dubai. When I put clothes together I try to meld the vibes of the pieces together. Everything I’m wearing has a similar vibe and I think when it’s put together it gives what I like to call a crazy cat lady look. Fashion is about having fun and I feel like this outfit sums that up!”

WAHAJ ALI for HSY: THE RENAISSANCE MAN
kaun hoon main? kaun hoon? saaya hi toh hoon, baap ke jaisa. sard lehar mein, sukoon ka jhonka, main shohar jaisa. chehre ka sukoon, main ek junoon, bete ke jaisa. aur dost bhi toh hoon, sarmaaye jaisa, tere humsaaye jaisa. aur fankaar toh main hoon hi, ek bharpoor nazara, hoon aks tumhara. sitaron sa roshan, dilon mein jagmata, aadmi hoon main.
[Image ID: four gifs of Wahaj Ali from an advertisement for HSY's The Renaissance Man collection:
GIF 1: Wahaj with his face turned up to the ceiling, his hand folded in front of his mouth. His eyes slide open slowly.
GIF 2: Wahaj walking slowly, a small smirk on his face.
GIF 3: Wahaj with his hands folded in front of his face, elbows balanced on his knees, leaning slightly forward as he turns towards the camera and says, "bete ke jaise" (like a son.)
GIF 4: A shot of Wahaj with his back to the camera, face turned to the side as he tips his head up and says, "hoon aks tumhaara." (i am your reflection).

i had a vision… 🇵🇰 miku in a casual gharara with a rubab… with an organza shawl… with little jhumka hoops………. i can see the end of the horizon….. hatsune miku !!
Notes on details and translations below 💚
notes:
the rubab is a traditional pakistani stringed instrument
a gharara is a type of pants that are flared and pleated below the knee usually paired with knee or thigh length traditional shirts
jhumka are ornate bell like earrings
and the specific style of flat shoes depicted here are called khussay.
rose garlands called gajray are sometimes worn by women as bracelets or around hair buns etc, as depicted here. variations exist for different flowers too, such as the jasmine, which is the national flower.
