Ray, bless his soul, reignited my passion for art when I had met him. What better way to memorialize that moment than creating a character based off my adventures with art overall? Hence the birth of one blue lad.

What’s amusing is that a decent amount of my characters have had small additions or updates to their designs. Demonte has had no changes since creation.

The Living Paint

The “Paint-like Substance” that Demonte’s body emits has unusual, and at times, unpredictable properties. A lava drawing gained the properties of actual lava, a puddle of paint was used as a makeshift portal to elsewhere, and a self-portrait that emerged from its canvas to live its own life. Who knows what else it is capable of?

Personality

Demonte’s mental state is a fractured shell of what it once was. resulting in a personality that fluctuates rapidly. His actions may not reflect their intents at first, but Demonte is always consistent in doing what they believe is right. In times of extreme emotion or high stakes, Demonte may gain complete control of his psyche, making every decision with a crystal clear mind.

Backstory

Demonte was an artist like any other before that day. In what was possibly a dream, an entity that wouldn’t reveal itself asked Demonte if he wanted to see a color that none had ever seen before. Demonte obliged.

A client entered Demonte’s place of business the next day to find its entire interior defaced with incomprehensible pieces of art. Venturing further inside, he eventually came across the artist themselves, seemingly dead and plastered in various paints. In a panic, the client ran out and quickly called for emergency services. When they had arrived and entered the building, Demonte was gone, with only a painted message on the wall scolding them for disturbing an artist while they’re working.

...How Demonte arrived in Nomura is anyone’s guess though.
