OC Introduction: Clang

That is one buff bot.

Design

Clang was actually meant to be a Synth, an open-species created by Vader-San (NSFW).

Synth examples by Vader-San

Someone encouraged me to make one since I enjoyed making characters so much.

I then proceeded to make a design so altered from it that it basically lost the inspiration.

I wanted a combat robot. Big, strong, flexible?

Cooler (Dragon Ball Z)

One character fit that description. Wasn't a robot though.

The IDEA was that Clang's normal design would be bare and have little armor. When he entered combat, armor would form around him and have him resemble something like a Gundam.

Or Justice from Guilty Gear.

Minus the penis drill.

Except I couldn't come up with a cool armored design. Trust me, I tried. For the future maybe!

Abilities / Traits

Artificial Soul

What does it take to be considered "alive"?

Clang houses an artificial soul, created by Hentsworth Industries. This soul has taken shape within the robotic body Clang uses now, controlling it and feeling all of its sensations as if it were flesh and blood.

This soul can transfer to and easily influence technology and machinery at will.

Robotic Body and Burning Core

He was designed, first and foremost, as a weapon.

Clang can manifest and solidify energy at his command utilizing the power of the Burning Core within him. The ability to fly, summon tools, and conjure energy blasts make him an effective combatant.

Adept Fighter

Jin (Tekken)

He was trained in combat; both with data and experience.

Forming strategies in seconds and attacking foes with precision, Clang is merciless on the battlefield.

Personality

Blunt. Honest. He only sugarcoats things if he's speaking to someone he actually cares about or he knows wouldn't be able to handle the truth.

Always one to go for the pragmatic options rather than the "right" ones, has a personal view of right and wrong based entirely on how he feels about it so he has a tendency to say questionable things.

Meet Sweaty. He’s a 42 year old absol and lives with his human mom in Castelia, Unova.

Some Absol headcanons:

I do think part of why Absols have such a bad rep among people is partially due to folklore of them appearing before and after horrific disasters, but also because they have such a human face. Imagine seeing this mf in the dark woods watching you. Something that looks human, but is not. Something that sounds human, but is NOT. Follow this by a horrific landslide.

Do you see the problem. Humans remember human faces. Predators sometimes mimic their prey. Absols have the truly unfortunate evolutionary quirk of falling into both categories.

So yes, there was a huge stigma against absols which led to a pretty severe population decline.

In modern day (much like wolves), Absols have become media darlings, in large thanks to a the help of pokemon rangers who utilize Absol’s ability to sense weather as an indicator when to evacuate. They are a very long lived species and need lots of intense exercise, often declaring huge swaths of land as their personal territories. Absols also tend to get very anxious when they feel they do not have enough space, so keeping them with other pokemon’s usually a no no.

Sweaty’s mom used to be a pokemon ranger and found Sweaty stuck in a refrigerator. Nowadays, she lets him free roam—much to the chagrin of every other person in the area. Sweaty in turn makes himself a nuisance to the local icecream store, begging for treats.

(The kids love him. He comes home with ink and paint stained everywhere and it’s a nightmare to clean.)

I had a bad day, so I compiled the few NRC boys I have. Also corrections were made on all three both visually (because I made too many errors before that I missed🤦) and info wise because I made minor changes (so if there’s contradictions, that’s why.) I should have updated Emilio’s render altogether because it’s pretty old compared to the latter two, but I don’t feel like it.

But, I’ll link Emilio, Cecil, and Nyoka’s original posts anyway, since they include a bunch of expressions I still like and convey the vibes™️ better. That, and for my own self-reference. BRIEF OVERVIEW (STC)

Oz is a man of many tricks; he was raised to entertain the audience, which is why he is great at lightening up the mood of the room. The many tricks he can do reminds others of a puppy trained on how to play dead, or shake hands. Despite that, Oz actually struggles in actually expressing the his true feelings— used to being the brunt of many jokes growing up, he believes that he is simply a puppet used for the entertainment of others. He sees himself as a hollow doll with no real personality, only meant for display. He is confused about who his truly is, used to what others want to see and not what he wants to show. Slowly, he is realizing that he is merely human, and that he should live for his own sake. (Old info from my notes)

Random Facts - Part-beastmen, specifically a rabbit beastmen but he lacks actual features aside for his tail that was cauterized off when he was younger - He doesn't look the part but he also likes getting into shenanigans, sometimes instigating Yuu and Adeuce with the pranks they do (No one really believes the trio when they say it was Oz's idea) - He's double jointed which is helpful with his Acrobatic hobby. - Love language is gift giving, and has a tendency to make crochets for other people. They're typically things that remind them of the other. - Has a lot of birthmarks on his face, but he started to cover them with foundation after Floyd made fun of it. - Has a terrible sense of direction so he gets lost easily, but he'd like to travel around the world someday. - He has terrible luck, and while he doesn't believe in superstitions he began to be wary about them. Doesn't want to get knocked out unconscious by a basketball whenever he passes by the gym. - Doesn't really mind being called Oswald, but he associated that to whenever he'd get scolded... so Oz is his more go to nickname.

TYPING QUIRK: - His friend got him into using Kaomojis, he likes the ones with bunny ears. - Likes sending voice messages to get his point across. - Usually types in sentence cases, (although when he isn't feeling well he types in lower cases) SPEAKING QUIRK: - Uses a lot of onomatopoeia to describe unknown things. - Speaks firmly when he feels strong emotions. - Sometimes bites his tongue when he rambles, or not focused. OC Introduction: Zao

A hardened warrior who hasn't had a break since he was born.

Design

A part of me wanted a dragon that lacked the usual features mine usually have.

He has no wings and isn't fat as hell. Also more based on Chinese dragons than western ones.

Abilities / Traits

Expert Swordsmanship

Vergil (Devil May Cry)

Not something he learned by choice.

Zao is skilled in the arts of sword fighting, wielding bladed weapons with ease.

"No bloodlust, no ill intent. He just cuts right through ya and that's the end of it."

All learned while trying to survive.

Zao is a deadly hand to hand combatant that has refined his style through years of conflict. He aims to take his opponents down as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This ability came with his Pure-Blood heritage.

Zao can manipulate and generate powerful gusts of wind at will, through movement or his breath. Along with his physical strikes, he combines this ability with the swinging of weapons, allowing him to strike foes that narrowly avoid his attacks or slice off someone's head from a distance.

Pure-Blood's Blessing

Deemed a curse by those without it.

Eldritch blood courses through his veins. He carries the innate abilities of regeneration, limitless power potential, and a very resilient body.

Personality

Zao didn't have much of a childhood, being born into a conflict and never finding his way out of it. He's blunt, pragmatic, and to the point, often to the annoyance of those around him.

He carries an air of unwavering stoicism about him, earning him the reputation of someone that has trouble experiencing emotion; his voice hardly deviating from its low tone despite his possible moods not helping the perception. This is not true.

Although he has trouble expressing his emotions in ways most can understand, he still feels just as much as anyone else. Years of conflicts had trained Zao not to showcase his thoughts; something he himself isn't aware of. This often causes him to state how he feels right off the bat at times to allies.

Regardless, he has poor social skills anyway. Jokes often fly over his head, he takes things at face value on occasion, and its a coin flip on whether or not he'll catch a sarcastic remark.
