Absolutely love the direction Massive Monster took with the bishops this update, ESPECIALLY Shamura, they’re SO similar to the Norse god Odin (also a god of wisdom) like they both are presidents of the club of ‘fucked around and found out and made it everyone else’s problem’
Like, what an insane mad scientist archetype they are, encouraging Narinder to destroy the laws of nature because they were oh so curious as to what would happen too, and what happened was bad trouble on the horizon and family drama out the whazoo, like most real world mythologies you read about. Idk I just love how connected this game feels to real life mythologies, with a good dose of cosmic horror beyond our comprehensions to taste. It’s like kid me and adult me boiled our interests and collective religious trauma together and Cult of the Lamb got spat out, this game is so perfectly tailored to my little gremlin brain.

I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).
It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!

#had a bit of a scare bc i got an email saying i was late on my rent and they were gonna have to repossess the house if i couldnt pay#and i was so confused bc id given them a debit authorization form? for them to withdraw automatically? so i paid manually and told them that#and they came back like sorry... we dont know what happened... well look into it... i thought id misunderstood what a debit authorization is#of course if id checked my bank account i couldve seen that the money hadnt come out and asked them before i got a late notice#but if i set up autopay on something i never check it bc thats the point of autopay... set it up and forget it...#i do everything like this. appointments go in the calendar with a reminder set and then i forget about them until its time#this is probably a bad habit tho bc i did just find out my internet had been charging me for 'free trials' id apparently forgotten to cancel#whatever... let me live my fiscally inattentive life in peace mom...

Oh I got another ask about this and yeah! They do! It’s actually how Reed and Val meet up again after the big blowout. By that point vox and Val are a team up (velvet isn’t around yet) so when Reed sets up a meeting as a representative of the Stacks to do some business on Voxs internet it takes place at one of Val’s classier night clubs in the vip suite.
While Reed isn’t an overlord at this point he does have hella connections and the rumors of how safe the stacks are is spreading. So Val and Vox are both inclined to make a deal with the mysterious owner of the stacks.
But then the representative shows up and it’s fucking Reed???? Like to put this into Val’s l perspective: fifteen years ago your sorta boy toy was a hooker who enojoyed nothing so much as hedonism and now he’s somehow the vice president of a very powerful corporation??? Even though you were pretty sure he was dead-dead cause your hacker boyfriend couldn’t find him anywhere!

it's starting to hit me that i'm going to have a career soon and like... that is like a wild thing to try to comprehend?? like yes i've studied my ass off for the past twoish months- to pass a test. but that test means i have job where i can sit and do my job? it's still a very radical concept to me.
#kate rambles from here on#the thing is- my family has always been working class- so i really wrote off college at a young age- mostly cause my dream differed#bc of wanting to make music and what not- but like they offered the course to me for free and it's sth i've thought about before and#i've been struggling not having a job bc of my plantars fasciitis (it's from stress) so not working on my feet = lifesaver for me#i am thankful for saving up as hard as i did when i could- bc i've been living off it until recently- where it's gotten too low for my liki#it's not that i'm complaining and/or changing my lifestyle- it's just i had been fighting to get a job that i could do that wouldn't kill m#to do- and i applied to this job thinking 'they're never even going to look at my application' bc imo i have no real qualifications outside#of customer service- but they did- and i've been in the process of being hired for the past 2-3~ mos- in two days it is tech the start of#my contract- in five days i'll be going near the big city to do my onboarding? and then i'll do more course work and like the idea that soo#in January- officially- part time- i'll be working at office? like is just a wild concept to me- i'll be getting paid for learning in dec~#and i just? omg... this is wild to me... yes i realize my plantars could strike back here- but- bc i will be sitting it'll mitigate it sm#it is still part time for now- bc i asked for it to be part time and work my way up to full time- i'm allowed at any time w/training to#move up to the next level- but i can stay at level 2 for hwvr long i wish if i want to- mostly i'll be working from jan to may#and idk random fact but after applying i got to learn that my grandma before she passed did the same thing- i really do take#after my namesake- hehe- idk this is a big ramble but it's just vv wild to me#(me over here “my first big purchase will be the byz's sgs” ((i could buy it now but i'm waiting for it as a treat~)) i bought their album#when i successfully completed the scary test~ so i'm using them as a motivator to work hard ebhbhea)#kate rambles#idk i'm vv proud of myself and i just wanted to share-

you go into grocery outlet to see if they have some toothpaste and cheap blackout curtains to replace the ones your cat destroyed and you walk out with an armenian pastry and fucking fruity ass infused gin even though you literally have gin at home and don't even drink that much

One of my crazy radical idea is that parents should be forced to take a child development or read a book/pamphlet on it because people are too aggressive to their children/babies who are —quite literally — brand new to the world and don’t know shit.

ive only seen the first episode of the live action avatar series, but here are my thoughts so far. visually? stunning. the costumes the cgi the lighting the sets. im enjoying literally just looking at the screen. but the story/adaptation part feels kinda empty. i know the script cant be 1:1 with the old show, but it felt like they cut out so many bits that gave the show so much character? my biggest issue so far- id heard that the original creators of the 2005 show made a choice to not show the air nomads genocide on screen, and i had heard that they were going to do that in the show, so i was already a bit worried about that, but showing the air nomad kids hiding while gyatso tried to protect them from the fire nation soliders was an absolutely horrible decision. seeing that on screen knowing that stuff like that is happening literally every day, not only in palestine but probably in hundreds of parts of the world? completely unnecessary, it just felt like they were doing it for the shock factor. we know the airbenders genocide was horrifying, they didnt have to show the children cowering in a corner before they died.

Me panicking because i have 9 missed calls and 5 emails talking about my absence and how "a colleague could take over for me" vs. Me knowing it's really not that important no matter how pushy a client is and that on top of it I'm underpaid and have way to much overtime so i shouldn't even care
#i have 14 hours overtime#collected within 2 weeks lol#you know how it's apparently mandatory for companies in germany to have a way track employees working time? yeah we're#the only company in the whole fucking country who doesn't do that (obviously that's not true there's probably plenty more but it's#still not right.) so we don't get paid overtime nor does it get acknowledged in any way#so technically we're not allowed to even it out (which most people try to do anyway because tf do they think they are asking us to work for#free) but I'm dedicated to not collect any more unpaid working hours so i take the liberty to leave work early this week#so today i left at 12pm (and then got home 4 hours later because another person decided to kill themselves by train. they should call me#first. or anyone else taking the train. I'm sure there'd be plenty of volunteers to do the killing if it means not another miserable day#stuck in a disgusting train). and i logged in again at 6pm today to see if i have anything important messages (stupid i know)#and i saw the missed calls and that there had been an email exchange with me in the cc talking about the 'changes' made in one of the#articles and that someone else could do that for me since i couldn't be reached and at first i felt ashamed and scared#but now it's honestly just pissing me off. that asshole can't write emails and communicate requests like normal people can he#he already called me last week about something completely stupid and acts like his matters are the most important shit in the world#fuck you if you can't wait one day you should have sent this a month earlier because i won't stay online everyday#just to see if there might be an 'important' change you want me to make Immediately. bitch.#also missed two calls from my colleague but she didn't send any messages about what she wanted so i asked her because i felt bad for not#being online and turns out she wanted Nothing. just hear how i was.
