Paying for Items Bought Within Gaza
Anera is able to pay vendors, staff and contractors, mostly through the Bank of Palestine, which is still operating in Gaza. There are still some 12 operational ATMs in Gaza.
Bringing Trucks into Gaza
One common misunderstanding is that there are no trucks getting into Gaza (or, conversely, that there are plenty of trucks getting in). It’s true that, during the initial two weeks of the conflict, Israel blocked all goods into Gaza, a stark contrast to the usual influx of 5,000-7,000 trucks during a similar period.
Since October 21, trucks have been allowed in, but the flow has been sporadic and significantly lower than before October 7, 2023. The UN monitors truck arrivals daily, with the highest recorded at 300 during a brief ceasefire in late November. On most days, fewer than 200 trucks enter, less than half of the pre-war average.
Throughout the nearly 150-day conflict, only around 13,300 trucks have entered Gaza, far below the necessary 75,000. This inconsistent and inadequate aid flow falls well short of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Nightmarish Logistics
It is also important to note that the logistical hurdles to getting trucks into Gaza are formidable and convoluted. It is virtually impossible to ship goods through Israel proper, the way Anera and other international aid groups had done business in the past. Now, shipments have to pass through Egypt, or Jordan and Egypt, to get to Gaza, sometimes on long journeys. And each country has their own bureaucratic requirements and security controls. Overly burdensome Israeli inspection mechanisms also exacerbate delays, as each shipment has to be offloaded and checked for “dual-use” materials that are barred from passage and removed from pallets. If any restricted item is found (or declared), the entire truckload is rejected.
Trucks filled with essential supplies consequently wait and wait at border crossings, just a stone’s throw away from people who are starving and living in desperation.
Anera’s Trucks
After October 21, 2023, when Israel began to allow limited quantities of outside aid into Gaza, Anera and its partners started to bring in trucks carrying food, water, medicines, bedding, hygiene items and more.
As of this writing, Anera has brought in more than 300 trucks (see the latest on our daily response log). Some of the goods trucked in are designated to go directly to Anera, while other goods are brought in by other organizations and UN agencies, who then partner with Anera to complete the last-mile delivery to the intended recipients. In either case, Anera packages or cooks and delivers that aid to those who need it most.
oh here we go:
1) YES trucks are still making it into Gaza. Daily counter: https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiZTVkYmEwNmMtZWYxNy00ODhlLWI2ZjctNjIzMzQ5OGQxNzY5IiwidCI6IjI2MmY2YTQxLTIwZTktNDE0MC04ZDNlLWZkZjVlZWNiNDE1NyIsImMiOjl9&pageName=ReportSection3306863add46319dc574
2) Bank of Palestine can be accessed through ATMs in Rafah and despite trouble, there are existing aid orgs trying to work out supply chains despite hellish conditions. There are people living in set up camps, who still must purchase food despite the small amount of kitchens, prices of which are inflated to insane amounts so any cash helps in that regard, but I honestly hope these GFMs are wiring in aid because there were a few attempted boycotts of the platform since GFM sometimes refused to release funds. But otherwise in more recent articles opinion has evened out again, they ask for birth dates and the like, more info to follow (later.)

Blog #3 Stakeholders
It can be hard to figure out who is a stakeholder and is invested in the outcome of an issue that seems universal to you. Teens suffering because of lack of mental health resources is a widespread problem in Oregon, one that impacts almost everyone in some way but for some it is closer than others. Parents and youth themselves are the most impacted by this issue even if the only connection they have is a friend of a friend, it is something that can quickly become a problem close to home. Mental health and indeed all healthcare workers are impacted by this because they are the ones that are being stretched thin trying to provide care when there is a lack of resources forcing them to decide who they can and cannot help. Legislators are also impacted because they are the ones deciding budgets and grants, they have to try and understand the problem and figure out where funds are best utilized.
Within the broad overview of who is most impacted by the mental health crisis that teens in Oregon are facing, lower income residents are disproportionately affected. Those on Oregon Health Plan, OHP, feel the effects of lack of resources first with many reporting that the first time they get mental health help is when it is court ordered or when they are forced to visit an ER. According to OHP reports from October 2023 there are 343,889 children 6-18 eligible for OHP mental health services in Oregon. Most of these children are eligible for Health Share of Oregon but the next highest group, 41,570, are eligible through Pacificsource Marion Polk. Polk County is ranked 28th out of 36 in per capita income as of 2021 (Hendrickson 2022), these are people who technically live above the poverty line but still need help with essential services.
Parents and Teens in Oregon feel like Oregon's mental health system has failed them. Those working directly in the mental health system in Oregon feel that legislators aren’t adequately funding services and are in essence setting them up to fail. Legislators are struggling to figure out how to best serve their communities and whether to tackle the largest problems first or to triage and fix the smaller problems before they become bigger.

Ya I'm surprised after all this time tumblr STILL hasn't implemented something equivalent to pages for mobile users. It's a real pain.
I was just thinking I was out of luck for finding the pages because sometimes google will show them and other times it won't... With your blog it was being picky :/. So thank you for adding the page names.
i think it's also because of using custom themes. as soon as a blog has a custom theme, poof, gone are your pages for mobile
not like i can check, since its. my blogs. :')
but yea! i figured itd be safe to add the pagenames just in case authors page is. very barebones. i did not feel like writing anything proper but wanted it added at least lol
