Tired of language learning apps constantly downgrading for profit? Introducing Lingonaut Project

We've all seen previously great language learning apps such as Duolingo or Busuu gradually losing quality, because of the owners always looking for more ways to make money. That is why a programmer and language fan by the name of Dr.Greenboys on Discord decided to do something about it, and start his own project, with a strict non-profit policy, never to be sold to the stock market, and premium tiers only giving aesthetic benefits, instead of not being able to pay money damaging the service's ability to teach you a language. It is still in development, but I am really happy to have found this project, and wanted to share it with the world.

Did I mention that, unlike Duolingo, we'll take volunteers for pretty much any language as long as the volunteers are fluent in it?

Seeking volunteers for DST-HLVRAI Mod dialogue!

Hello folks! I'm working on a little project for a game I recently got into, Don't Starve together (DST), and I'm working on adding the HLVRAI characters as Mods but need help with making in-game text dialogue for them

This is what the dialogue file/sheet looks like, only the words in grey & quotations need to be altered to fit a specific character, basically what would they say instead of the standard dialogue How to help: If you have a PC I recommend contacting me (by commenting or messaging me) and getting the app Notepad++ if you don't already have it (it's the easiest way to edit the script files), if that doesn't work for you but you would still like to help we can talk and find other ways around :] HLVRAI Characters being added: -Gordon -Benrey -Bubby -Coomer -Tommy -Darnold -Forzen If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Camp Counselors Needed!

Camp is basically my home away from home. Every summer, it's about the only thing I look forward too. Camp Promise does a fantastic job of providing a safe and fun environment for people of all ages with conditions like mine. It's a place where I don't have to worry IF I can do something, just if I want too. I don't have to rely on my parents, and I don't have to worry about my safety in comparison. I'm just able to be me.

Camp Promise East, my specific session, is in dire need of counselors. I know it's far from Berkshire County, but if you or anyone you know would like to travel to Brackney, PA this summer - August 14-19 - for a week of fun and laughs and memories, it would mean the world to me.

This camp is a great way for anyone interested in the medical field to get some hands on experience with dealing with patients. Not that I like to think of us as that, but it is a great way to practice your bedside manner in a less stressful, fun environment. Plus it gives volunteer hours. And again, it's fun!!!

I have decided to rename this project, as I have realized Eien Ni Ashitekudasai can either mean " Love me Eternally " or " Please Step Forever. " Instead of Eien Ni Ashitekudasai, I will be calling it Love me Eternally, so that there is less lost in translation. Devlog #5 - Recruiting

This devlog is a bit different. I haven't made much progress, because I decided to actually develop the prologue and make it playable, so that I will surely have a working demo for this jam. I do hope to add at least one route, but I'm afraid I won't be able to finish everything in time, so I took this decision. Which leads to the title of this post.

I realized I can't do everything alone and decided to look for volunteers (as much as I hate it, unfortunately I can't offer payment) for these two positions:

BG ARTIST: I'm not looking for anything super realistic. Simple and stylized backgrounds would work really well, I think, but what matters most is that they somehow fit with the sprites' style. Don't worry about it too much though, just leave your portfolio and I'll see for myself.

COMPOSER: the game is a slice-of-life romance VN, so I think something soft and relaxing would fit? Although it also deals with heavy subjects, like homophobia and bullying, so the atmosphere will turn heavy sometimes. Honestly, I'm not really sure. So if you know your way with music or can even help me choose from free tracks, I'll be really grateful. ​I managed to find some backgrounds, although not all of them are exactly what I need, but music is the biggest issue, since I don't exactly know what to look for.​ No longer looking for a composer!

Other than that, I can show you a bit what the game looks like right now. Sprites aren't done yet but they will as soon as all the text has been implemented in the engine.

Hannah alone in her room. I made a mock-up of her house on The Sims 4 and plan on using it as a base to make my own background but perspective is my worst enemy and I'm not sure I'll get anything good.

First choice in the game, with Hannah being her short-tempered self. Still wondering if I should make the text box disappear.
