Back in the days the visual update for the AMG GT coupé and roadster includes new front and tail lamps as well as a new design idiom for the tailpipe trims. Info anon here and I'm back to give you a blast from the past as a Christmas treat, since admin so kindly asked for old gossip;)

This story is about our dear frontman and his fondness of a certain Italian actress called Benedetta Porcaroli.

Most of you probably know Benedetta from the Italian Netflix series "Baby", in which she starred alongside Alice Pagani. And that's how Damiano met her too :)

In 2018, Måneskin's biggest hit at the time, Torna a casa, is used as part of the new series soundtrack. Måneskin attend the premiere of the series in Milan on 30/11/2018 and perform "Torna a casa" live. Damiano follows Benedetta back on Instagram (only member of the cast he followed at the time) and likes her post about the premiere.

A few days later, on 01/12, a video of the "Baby" cast and Måneskin playing a game drops on the YouTube channel of Netflix Italia. Damiano and Benedetta are sitting next to each other and are on the cover of the video. The video is called "Il cast di baby sfida i Måneskin a 'Obbligo o Segreto'" and the vibe between Damiano and Benedetta who, at the time it was filmed, had just recently met is undoubtedly very…comfortable.

There's not any other public interaction between them for months until something interesting happens: when Damiano breaks up with Giorgia in April 2019, he starts liking Benedetta's posts again. And not just liking her posts: they're hanging out too as Benedetta lets us know when she posts this selfie with Damiano on May 8th 2019.

But something even more interesting happens when he and Giorgia get back together in late May/ early June: soon after, Damiano unfollows Benedetta. I wonder why he would do that, since they seemed to be such good friends :)

They don't interact again for years (at least publicly) and Benedetta is with other men until they meet again at the Gucci Cosmogonie event in May 2022. There are multiple videos of them from that night talking to each other and in one the conversation does look a bit tense. Admin please insert the videos I've sent you on email because I can't add them here :)

In November 2022, Benedetta is in LA while Maneskin are also there. She posts a photo with Vic on 12/11 and - a miracle - Damiano follows her again on Instagram. And not just follows: he starts liking her posts again on a regular basis. At the time, Giorgia is away in India filming Pecchino express without access to social media.

On February 24th 2023, Måneskin and Benedetta reunite at the Gucci fashion show in Milan. Damiano & Benedetta seem to be in a much better mood around each other now ;)

Multiple paparazzi photos of Damiano and Benedetta from that day appear. In some of them they are arriving at the show and she seems to be lightly holding him.

In others, they're having lunch. Giorgia is nowhere in sight even though she was there in Milan with him those days. The headline is "Damiano and the Porcaroli, a couple you didn't expect." The article clarifies though that there's not any type of cheating and that he's still with Giorgia while Benedetta was publicly single (is it cheating though if the relationship is open? ;)

In light of this content, Damiano stops interacting with Benedetta's posts on social media for about a month but soon starts again in March.

Almost 2 months after the Gucci fashion show took place, Benedetta posts a photo with Måneskin from the event.

And, that's the end. No interactions since. I'm leaving you to reach your own conclusions, but to me this relationship definitely wasn't a simple friendship;) I should point out that in summer 2023 Benedetta publicly reconnected with her ex, Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio. He's 19 years older than her and they're still together. So, the time Damiano stopped interacting with her online probably coincides with when she got back with him in private.

I thought that nothing could impress me after Skyrim...

I remember seeing the first Tamriel night. I went into the forest, somewhere in the distance I heard the dull cry of a dragon, and when I raised my head, the sky was shimmering with the Northern Lights and twinkling with hundreds of stars. But the best decoration of this night etude were them - Masser and Secunda. It seems that the sky itself shuddered at the presence of the huge bloody moon and its companion. Stormy rivers, peaks of high rocks, the gold of forests and fields filled with the intoxicating smell of heather… After playing the game once, I didn't dare to play it again, no matter how much I wanted to. Because after Skyrim, there was Red Dead Redemption 2. And as my friend said, 'After Red Dead, all games seem mediocre.'

Red Dead is so unlike any other game that nature is the last thing you pay attention to. And when you finally notice it, you understand that nothing can be better than this. I don't know of another such game that could so accurately convey the subtlest nuances of light and the smallest changes in air. You don't see this right away and you don't notice it because you are busy with plot matters. But the less things remain, the more you start to look around and enjoy the beauty of the game. Only then do you see how the mornings are covered with a pink haze of fog and give off coolness. And the evenings are bathed in the warm light of the sun, which is about to hide behind the horizon. How the juicy meadows of New Hanover is replaced by the red clay of dry and humid Lemoyne. And rivers appear on your way, over which icy streams high bridges are thrown, grabbing the rocks with their ends.

Red Dead gave me back the opportunity I had forgotten during the years I spent sitting at home due to quarantines and war. It taught me to observe nature again. To admire such familiar things as the sun and the moon, trees and flowers, the movement of squirrels in the grass and birdsong in the branches of trees. To guess by the moon, shrouded in clouds, what the weather will be, and to look at the sky, foretelling rain. I love how the arid fields of the Great Plains suddenly become wet and suffocating, as if raindrops have frozen in the air. How nervous my horse is, climbing the snow-covered Ambarino rocks and snorting joyfully, floating on the white surface of the shining snow.

In general, I noticed that Americans love to convey the greatness of their nature. I remember how I was fascinated by the beauty of Need for Speed: The Run, so unlike the previous games in the series. The great race across America finally allowed us to leave the narrow streets of the city and forced us to compete not only with rivals, but also with nature itself. Climb the steep mountains while enjoying the Yellowstone Valley. Rush through the desert ahead of the storm and run away from snow avalanches. In my mind's eye, I can still see the red Pagani, raising behind a cloud of fallen gold leaves. Nature, it would seem, is the most banal thing in game design, especially if the game gravitates towards realism. Here there is nowhere for the imagination to turn, there is little space to fully develop one's skill as a designer. I once thought the same about the landscape in painting. Is drawing trees as difficult as depicting people?

American painting does not have such a powerful academic base as European one for quite understandable reasons - the history of the United States as a separate country, and the history of Americans as a separate nation, is much shorter. In 1582, the Carracci brothers opened the 'Academia degli Incamminanti' (Academy of Those who are Making Progress) in Bologna, which became a model for all subsequent art schools throughout Europe. And it was with the founding of the art school of the Carracci brothers that the term 'academism' in the fine arts is associated, since much attention was paid to painting from the nude (which was forbidden by the Catholic Church of the Counter-Reformation). The first successful European settlement on the lands of North America was founded in 1607. We can go further into the depths of the century and remember John White, an English colonizer who made watercolor sketches of the landscape and indigenous peoples of America. But this does not change the situation much.

American art in many respects at the beginning of its development depended on English art. So it is not surprising that the first attempts to create something like an academic basis lay in portrait painting and landscape painting. The painting of England began its revival in this period (the end of the XVIII century) from the same genres. But already at the beginning of the XIX century, American artists went even further from sweet continental romanticism, opening up new, previously unseen horizons. One such artist was Thomas Cole (a follower of the English painter William Turner), whose artistic pursuits gave the world the Hudson River School (1820).

The representatives of this artistic trend tried to separate themselves from European traditions, investing in their works other meanings inherent in American society at that time. In large-scale canvases, depicting the majesty of nature, they embody historical and religious themes. But at the same time, the landscape is not just a background. It is a kind of actor, whose voice sounds in waterfalls, rustles in the wind in the crowns of trees and echoes between rocky mountains. In their search, the artists traveled not only through the magnificent Hudson River Valley. But they also went deeper and deeper into the unexplored West of the country, which became a kind of Mecca for artists. These lands inspired such artists as Hermann Herzog, Thomas Gill and, of course, Albert Bierstadt.

The last artist, in turn, did not just depict the beauty of America with a moralistic undertone. Bierstadt, one of America's leading western landscape painters, encouraged the protection of nature and the creation of national reserves with his work. In his landscapes, he depicts indigenous peoples, raises the topic of the destruction of animals (especially bison), glorifies the historical past of this region and the people who inhabit it, and also metaphorically talks about the problems of today.

The representatives of the school, shrouded in religious reverence, promoted a realistic depiction of nature as a product of 'God's creation'. Ralph Waldo Emerson allows themselves the opinion that 'this pictorial transcendentalism is closer to the beliefs of the Native Americans than to the Christian tradition'.

This is how nature appears in RDR2, beautiful and powerful, on the border between virginity and barbaric attitude. If you play RDR, then looking at the works of the Hudson School, you will definitely feel that these landscapes are familiar to you. I especially love the south of Ambarino for this. Sometimes, making way between rocks and waterfalls, they seem so alive that their naturalism becomes phantasmagorical. Climbing to the very top of Mount Shann at the other end of the map, it seems that it is not the moon that comes out from behind the clouds, but a divine light that floods the Great Valley with a glow, where the black ribbon of the river flows below, glinting with silver. Looking around, looking at the entire Frontier, which lies as if in the palm of your hand, you feel like a god. But when you get to Saint-Denis, you realize that you are human. Because only such a miserable creature could turn the river into a swamp of fuel oil, the shore of the mangrove forest into a landfill, and the clear blue sky cover with smog. The environment in Red Dead is so alive and realistic that sometimes it is difficult to believe that it was created by the hand of a person, and not by nature itself.

The question of preserving one's history and nature is particularly well revealed in side quests, such as the bison hunting mission with Charles, or the Native Americans arc with Rains Fall. In these episodes, you can feel the end of an entire era, the once majestic West and the people of Native Americans, destroyed by the oppression of colonizers. With the same human oppression, which a century later will chain the American plains into concrete. Red Dead is like a glass fence that separates today from yesterday, sealing this world on the edge in itself forever, allowing everyone who wants to touch it.

The beauty of Red Dead Redemption 2 is completely different from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which beauty in the world of magic and dragons is designed to emphasize the reality of what is happening. In RDR, it represents the standard of the state of affairs in the world, which is about to disappear. The game seems so alive because its design pays tribute to its own culture and history, inspired by national art. Developers elevate the importance of nature much higher than just a good visual component. They speak it to us as the followers of the Hudson River School once spoke to their contemporaries. The artistic solution of the game touches the dark corners of the soul to bring light there and fill the head with thoughts.

One day I'll make complete review on RDR2. But this time I was accidentally inspired during my last session in game.

AMG SL, the new edition of an icon, returns to its roots with a classic soft top and sporty character. At the same time, the luxurious roadster as a 2+2 seater is particularly suitable for everyday use and puts its power down on the road with all-wheel drive for the first time.

High-tech components such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active anti-roll stabilisation, rear-axle steering, the optionally available AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system and the standard-fit DIGITAL LIGHT with projection function sharpen the sporty profile.

In combination with the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, this results in a driving experience of the highest order. As a consistent Performance Luxury model, Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach has developed the SL completely independently. Two models with AMG V8 engines will kick off the market launch.

At market launch, the new SL starts with two output levels of the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine. The engines are assembled purely by hand at the company’s site in Affalterbach according to the „One Man, One Engine“ principle. In the top model SL 63 4MATIC+ (combined fuel consumption 12.7-11.8 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 288-268 g/km)[1].

The engine develops 430 kW (585 hp) and provides a maximum torque of 800 Nm over a wide rev range from 2500 to 4500 rpm. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 3.6 seconds, the top speed is 315 km/h.

In the SL 55 4MATIC+ (combined fuel consumption 12.7-11.8 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 288-268 g/km), the V8 unit develops an output of 350 kW (476 hp) and a peak torque of 700 Nm. The sprint from standstill to 100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds, the top speed is 295 km/h.
