Since our vampire thread is getting long and out of control, I figured I should start a different one before I started offering angsty interpretations of Padam @touchyourblood @anxious-witch

If we're going by the idea that Bojan had an ill-advised desire to become a vampire when he was younger, essentially gave in to that desire, and is now lamenting it...

Watch out for yourself, they told me that night. The city is full of ghosts, that don't let you get away. They shut you in a burning circle, that even warms you at first, they wait for your quiet demise.

Watch out, they said. Ghosts, vampires, demons, whatever. They're there to tempt you. Don't give in.

But he gave in! He surrendered to the evening. And now...

Now I'm falling and falling, will anyone catch me? With open arms, a smile on my face. Now I'm falling and falling, will anyone understand? If I don't succeed at anything, if I lose everything I wanted.

He's falling. He's in despair. Being a vampire is like a curse, but one no one else can understand because no one else shares it (that he knows). It's a life of angst, suffering, worry, fear that he'll hurt someone he loves...and will anyone be there for him? Will anyone catch him if he falls (makes a mistake, goes too far)? If he loses everything he's worked so hard for because of this...will anyone understand?

Anyone my theory is that this song is about the Vampire Experience but it's veiled and metaphorical enough that they felt safe releasing it, knowing it could be interpreted many different ways
