The giant pacu is an enormous and successful piranha species... that is thankfully vegetarian!

This mermaid is a fantastic example of a fish that has human-mimicking traits as part of being a mermaid, but has no pressure to attract humans. Modern mermaids do not prey on humans, and thus are open to a wide range of wonderful physiques and appearances.

At the peak of human-mermaid conflict, mermaids closely resembled the conventionally attractive feminine "ideal" of their region's humans. Things are much more interesting and wonderful since peace was made.

Cachama!

Also known as a black pacu, black-finned pacu, giant pacu, tambaqui, just pacu... a beloved child has many names. This fish tends to shock folks due to its very human-like dentition, sporting flat, square-shaped teeth! The shape of the teeth can be explained by the diet of the cachama, as it mostly eats fruits, seeds and nuts, and needs ample biting surface to crack and crush them!

Pacus!

These fish are best known for being close relatives of piranhas! Unlike piranhas though, the handful of species commonly known as pacu have a herbivorous diet. They're native to South America, but have unfortunately been introduced to many other continents.
