trick or treat 🥺
So uh. This got a little out of control but it's my SWR/Pacrim au, that's just how I ROLL
“Hey, what are you doing up here?”
Ezra’s voice jolted Sabine out of her thoughts, and she snapped her sketchbook shut as he dropped down onto the scaffolding next to her. “Training done already?” she asked, avoiding his question. The real answer wouldn’t do, anyways.
She couldn’t very well tell Ezra, “Oh, this is the best place to watch you guys do your training so I can subtly sketch you— all of the pilot trainees, but mainly you— without anyone noticing.”
After all, the only thing more embarrassing than having a crush on a Jaeger pilot (like some kind of basic fangirl. She’d seen the ones who swooned over Ezra, actually met a few who thought he was dreamy. She didn’t even want to get started on the ones who liked Kanan or Zeb.) was having a crush on your best friend who was a Jaeger pilot.
And then watching him train with Kanan while secretly sketching him.
“Yup. Kanan let us go early— Hera’s getting back from her meeting today, and he wants stuff to be ready for her.”
“It’s kinda cute how much he misses her,” Sabine mused, and was surprised when an odd flicker of emotion crossed Ezra’s face.
“Yeah,” he said, staring across the Shatterdome.
Settling her sketchbook in her lap, Sabine nudged her shoulder against his. “Okay, what’s up? You know I can tell when you’re off.”
Ezra didn’t answer right away, a frown twisting his face. Finally, he said, “Kanan’s talking about retiring.”
Sabine’s eyes widened. “Wait— seriously?”
“Not like, fully,” Ezra said. “But he and Hera are looking at their future, and since she’s Marshal now, he wants to make sure one of them has as much free time as possible for future kids. He’ll still train with the future pilots, but… he’s not gonna be a permanent pilot any more.”
“Wow,” Sabine said quietly. “How are you feeling about that?”
“A little weird,” Ezra said. “He promised he won’t if I still need him, but I don’t want to stop him. And Kanan thinks I can find another partner. There are a couple other pilots who could be compatible with me.”
“Well, that’s good,” Sabine said.
“Yeah.” He paused, and Sabine could tell there was something else he wanted to say. It took a few heartbeats, but then he asked, “Do you… do you think you’d ever want to be a pilot?”
Sabine’s eyebrows shot up. Was he asking… “I mean, I’m kinda busy with J-tech. I’m not a pilot.”
“You’ve got the training, though,” Ezra said. “Just as much as I do. And you’d be good at it, and…” he looked at her, meeting her eyes, and Sabine felt her heart skip a beat. “I’d trust you as a pilot any day.”
Kriff. She shouldn’t say yes, she knew how it would probably end. Being in the head of the boy she’d wound up with a crush on… it was a monumentally bad idea. But. It was Ezra. She couldn’t say no to him.
“I’ll think about it,” she told him, and his smile was sun through the clouds.
“Thanks, Sabine.”

i'd love to see more kanen and hera in pacrim au?
And I would love to write more because no thoughts only this au
The alarm going off sliced through Kanan’s hazy dreams, and he sat bolt upright, blinking disorientedly. A second later, what exactly was happening registered, and he was moving, tossing aside his blanket and hopping out of his bunk.
He’d slept in his clothes, and stopped to throw his jacket on as he headed for the door. After a few minutes of hunting, he located his shoes, and yanked them on as he headed out.
Hopping on one foot to get his second shoe on, Kanan only made it two steps down the hall before the door he was heading for swung open, and Hera stepped out. She was dressed, too, her hair swept up in a neat bun behind her head. Internally, Kanan marveled over the fact that she could look put together when she’d been sleeping only minutes ago.
It was just one of the many things that he found impressive about her.
Matching his stride with hers, Kanan followed Hera as they headed down the hall. “Kaiju sighting?” he asked.
“Couldn’t be anything else,” Hera said. Pulling a hair band off her wrist, she wordlessly held it out to him.
Taking it from her, Kanan swept his still loose hair back into a messy ponytail. “I told you there would be one soon, didn’t I?”
“For the last time, Kanan, your ‘Kaiju sense’ is not a thing.”
“Maybe that’s what the Kaiju want you to think.”
Hera snorted, the corner of her mouth turning up a little. “Why don’t you get your head in the game, dear? We’ve got a city to protect—”
“And a Kaiju to beat,” Kanan finished, grinning. “I’m with you, Captain Hera.”

90, 78, & 58 for the 501st Celebration 🎉
Congratulations!
SO sorry it took me a while to answer this one-- but it's here!! Finally!!
58: Jacen As Ezra’s Padawan And The Hijinks They Get Up To (TJSA prequel). The title says it all!
“Are we sure this is the right place to go?” Jacen asked, staring out the view port with a frown.
Ezra couldn’t blame him. The planet below them was torn to pieces, its brown surface charred black in places.  Whatever catastrophe had affected this planet had been bad.
“You’re the one who did the meditating,” he reminded Jacen. “If the Force is telling you to go to Jedha, you shouldn’t doubt it. Neither of us should.”
That, Ezra knew, was a key part of this mission for his apprentice. Learning to trust his own judgment, and his connection with the Force as a Jedi. He was only here to supervise. Everything else was up to Jacen.
Slowly, Jacen nodded. “Yeah. You’re right. Okay, let’s do this.”
“Excellent,” Ezra said, nudging the New Dawn forward. “Operation Kyber Crystal is a go.”
Whatever awaited them on the surface, they could handle it. Ezra was sure of that much.
78. Kanan as a Lunar Guard au. Ohhhh this one. This one is good. It's an au set in the TLC universe, where Kanan is a Lunar! He saves Ezra, who's a shell, and they take off to Earth! And I went a little crazy for this one, so enjoy!!
90. Pacific Rim au.
I am sooooooooooooooo obsessed with this one
“So, this is her,” Kanan said, gazing at the massive Jaeger in front of him. “The Phantom Eclipse.”
He’d seen Hera Syndulla’s Jaeger on TV approximately twice, and a few times from a distance, but never up close. He’d never really had the opportunity. But now? Now, if the test was anything to judge by— and it was— they were drift compatible. So Kanan figured it was logical enough that he got a good look at his new ride.
It was a Mark-4, and therefore nicer than anything he’d ever piloted. The Jaeger he’d piloted alongside his mother, the Beacon Instinct, had been a Mark-2, and the Kasmiri Escape had been a Mark-3 before a kaiju had torn it to shreds. Feeling a twinge of nostalgic sorrow, Kanan redirected his attention to the Phantom.
The Jaeger towered above them, the silvery gray metal gleaming proudly. Scattered across the limbs and torso, however, were bright splotches— paintings, Kanan realized.
Stepping closer, he studied the nearest one— a phoenix, red-gold wings flaring across the metal of the Jaeger’s leg. It wasn’t the only one of its kind. In fact, he spotted several of the birds, including one soaring across the chest. Above it was a black circle, white-gold lines of lines curving around the rim and out from the edge. An eclipse, Kanan realized.
“That’s Sabine’s work,” Hera said from behind him. Kanan cast a quick glance over his shoulder. His new co-pilot stood with her arms folded, her expression calmly neutral as she watched him. “I don’t think you’ve met her yet— she works in J-tech. Mainly a weapons expert, but she’s an artist, too. She asked me if she could do a little work on Phantom, and, well, it turned into a lot of work.”
“I’m impressed,” Kanan said, studying the artwork for another minute. “She’s good at what she does.”
“She’ll be glad to hear you say that.” Hera’s voice held a hint of pleasure— clearly, she liked hearing Sabine praised. They must have been close. Kanan made a mental note to meet this Sabine as he turned to face Hera.
The pilot lifted an eyebrow at him. “Well?”
Kanan knew exactly what she was asking. “She’s stunning,” he told Hera.
A smile spread across Hera’s face, warm and open, and Kanan knew without a doubt that he was done. There was no way he could pick up the pieces after she smiled at him like that. “Good,” she said.

Zeb and Kanan I'm Pacific Rim au?
“You’re Hera’s new drift partner, right? Jarrus?”
“Right,” Kanan said, turning to face the source of the gruff, accented voice. It turned out to be a huge, burly man with a beard and a t-shirt with some ancient band logo on the front, tattoos winding up and down his arm. “And you’re…”
“Zeb Orrelios,” the man said, extending a massive hand to him— the other was strapped in a sling. “Heard good things about you from Sabine. And I looked you up— pretty talented pilot.”
“Thanks,” Kanan said, clasping his hand. “You’re one of the pilots here, right? You’re in Stygian Rival?”
“That’s me,” Zeb said. “When I’m not on injury leave— car crash, if you can believe it. That’s what happened to my partner, too. All that time in a Jaeger and that’s what takes him out.”
Kanan winced, sympathy panging through him. “I’m sorry.”
“It happens,” Zeb said, a hint of sadness in his voice. “He was a good friend. But I hear you dealt with the same thing, so you know how it is.”
Thinking of Stance, laying in that hospital room, hoping that he’d be able to walk again, Kanan nodded. “Yeah. I do.”
Zeb nodded, seeming to approve— of what, Kanan couldn’t say. But he liked the guy. With his accent and his straightforward attitude, he reminded Kanan a little of one of the pilots he’d met down in Australia a few years back, and a lot of his stepfather’s cousin, Wolffe.
“So you’re sticking around here?” he asked, and Zeb shrugged.
“That’s the plan. Even if they don’t find me a new partner, this is my life, you know? I figure I can find something to do. As long as I don’t have to work in Loccent. Nothing personal against ‘em— I just have beef with a guy up there.”
“Right,” Kanan said, half-grinning. “I definitely want to hear more about that.”

Kanera PR AU, 12 and 13?
MY MOST BELOVED WHICH I AM TOOOOOTALLY NORMAL ABOUT (lie)
12. What's your favorite line from this fic? Okay so it's a toss up. First there's this one: "Pulling a hair band off her wrist, she wordlessly held it out to him." It's not much, but to me it shows how in tune they are already, ya know? So I was very proud of it. And then there's this one: "“For the last time, Kanan, your ‘Kaiju sense’ is not a thing.”" Need I say more?
13. Write a little snippet set in this verse. HEHEHE GLADLY. Um. It may not be little though.
"So this random guy is your new drift partner?" Sabine said, her expression deeply dubious. "And you're okay with that?"
"I... am," Hera said slowly, and Sabine frowned at her. "I am! It's just... I've only ever drifted with the one person for so long. It's strange, you know?"
Sabine let out a dubious hum. "Uh-huh. And now... the guy is some rando who hit on you in a bar. Great choice, Hera!"
"It was who I was compatible with, Sabine," Hera said, rolling her eyes.
"Uh-huh," Sabine said, pulling out her phone and typing something into it. "Hmm... interesting."
"Wha-- Sabine, did you just google him?"
"Interesting," Sabine said again, not responding. "Did you know he's had five other drift partners?"
Hera couldn't help it-- her eyes widened. "Five?"
"Yep. And he's one of the only people out there who've actually managed to wreck a Jaeger. Good for him, I guess," Sabine muttered, her expression dubious. "A moment of silence for the Kasmiri Escape, though. What else is there here-- nothing about his dating life, if you're curious."
Hera started to sputter an indignant response, but another voice spoke up first.
"If you wanted to know about my dating life," Kanan said, "you could have just asked me."
Hera spun around to see him leaning against the frame of the door, watching them both with a tiny grin. "And it's six, actually," he continued.
"Come again?" Sabine asked.
"I've drifted with six people," Kanan said. "But I only drifted with Dark once on a dare. You're Sabine, right?"
"Yeah," she said slowly.
Nodding, Kanan said, "I saw your work on the Phantom. You're a good artist."
That, Hera knew, was the right thing to say. Sabine lit up in her own intentionally casual sort of way. "Oh. Uh, thanks. Um, did you have a favorite?"
Not bad, Hera thought as Kanan answered, and the two of them started talking art, Sabine smiling wider than Hera had seen her in weeks. Not bad, Kanan. Every time she talked to him, he surprised her. This one was no exception.

Congratulations on 501 followers!! I chose 90 and 78 for the celebration!! I'm so excited!❤️
Thanks, friend!!
Okay, so someone else sent me 78 as an ask, and I only really have one concrete idea for that one. So I'm going to make an executive decision and give you #73 instead, which I think you'll like, too!
73: Time Travel Au. I shall post this on its own here. But have a quick summary-- Ezra gets stuck in a time loop, and tries to fix everything, Luckily, if he plays his cards right, he'll have backup
90. Pacific Rim Au. In this one, Kanan and Hera are both Jaeger pilots. Kanan's drifted with a couple different people, but Hera's far more selective, and has only had one other partner. Who is now retiring. And she and Kanan miiiiiiiiiiight be drift compatible, to her own great horror
“You ready to give this a shot?”
Taking a deep breath, Hera shot a glance at her partner. Kanan Jarrus, one of the better Jaeger pilots out there. And the last person she’d ever thought she would be about to drift with.
But they were compatible. And somehow, despite his flirting and cockiness, she’d wound up agreeing to giving this a shot. I must be insane.
“Let’s do this,” she told him calmly.
In her earpiece, she heard Kallus back in Loccent saying, “Commencing neural handshake.”
And then her mind was flooded with memories that weren’t her own—
asking question after question about the Jaegers as a kid, pestering his mother. Depa had just laughed and answered them. “maybe someday you’ll be in one,” she said, although her eyes said she hoped it wasn’t true. little did she know— did either of them know— that she would be the first one to drift with him.
losing Depa hurt, and he wasn’t sure if he could keep drifting without her. but he knew better than to give up, after everything she’d taught him, so he kept going.
The snapshots grew briefer— cold metal under his hand as he patted the side of his destroyed Jaeger, being shipped off to be repurposed for parts. the taste of cold root beer as he and Cal and Merrin and Bode sat and joked together. a pair of green eyes and a melodic voice that took root and he hoped he’d never forget—
“Neural handshake successful and holding,” Kallus said through their helmets. “Phantom? How are we doing?”
Hera didn’t have to look at Kanan to know he was grinning, or to know what he wanted to say. “We’re ready,” she said firmly.
