Arnaut Danjuma finally joins the Blues!
Talented and versatile forward Arnaut Danjuma has signed for the club on loan from Spanish club Villareal, only a year after the club's deal with Danjuma broke down at the final hurdle.
The Dutch international, at just 26 years of age, has achieved so much, scoring 72 goals and assisting 37 times in the 8 years he has been a professional footballer including spells in the Premier League with Bournemouth, and the La Liga and Champions League with Villareal CF.
Danjuma adds his services to an already strong looking winger group, joining the likes of Alex Iwobi, James Garner and 2022 Club Player of the year Dwight McNeil.
Everton sign star Portugeuese forward to bolster striker ranks
The club recently announced the signing of Beto (25) from Italian club Udinese on a deal worth £25 million.
The Portuegese number 9, who stands tall at 1.94m, has shown he can match it with the world's best, scoring 11 and 10 goals respectively in the past two seasons in the Serie A.
youtube
Beto said in his first Everton interview: "I have grown up an Evertonian, idolising Eto'o [as a striker] and Lukaku in more recent years." "I can't wait to get started with the club I love". he continued.
It is a signing that fans have been patiently waiting for after the club's struggle with forward injuries and a proper goal scoring threat last season following Dominic Calvert-Lewin's long term knee injury and Richarlison's departure from the club.
777 takeover Everton following sale by former owner Farhad Moshiri
Everton have agreed on a deal with 777 Partners, as the U.S. private equity firm is looking to taking over from former long-term owner Farhad Moshiri.
Founded in 2015, 777 Partners is an alternative investment platform that helps bold entrepreneurs transform visions into enduring value. The Miami-based company has subsequently branched out into sports club ownership with a vision to play a key part in football in the near future as mentioned on their website.
CEO of 777 Partners, Josh Wander expressed his excitement at securing ownership of their first Premier League side.
"The Premier League is the biggest league in the world and Everton are a club with a storied history that are in need of a quick fix" he said in a statement to Evertonians.
"With the season starting, it's important to set an early foundation of succees after years of hardship on and off the field".
777 Partners have a number of clubs in its portfolio that have all been acquired over the last four seasons, including Italian side Genoa and Belgian team Standard Liege, while they also have stakes in Bundesliga 2 club Hertha Berlin and more recently A-League side Melbourne Victory.
Club mourns the death of Chairman Bill Kenwright OBE
Everton Football Club is in mourning following the death of Chairman Bill Kenwright CBE, who passed away peacefully last week aged 78, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
The club released a statement commemorating the hard work Bill put into the club. 'Everton’s longest serving chairman for more than a century, Bill Kenwright led the Club through a period of unprecedented change in English football.
In his 19 seasons as Chairman, the Club secured 12 top eight finishes, including a top four finish in 2005, a run to the 2009 FA Cup final and European qualification on 6 separate occasions.
The club has lost a chairman, a leader, a friend, and an inspiration. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Everton are with his family at this tough time.'
The club will hold a minute of silence before Saturday's game against Fulham at Goodison Park to commemorate his passing.

Chapter 8
On the tube an old woman had offered you a tissue and had whispered quietly;
“He’s not worth crying over my dear”
You swallowed and smiled weakly at her;
“Unfortunately he was… he was just an idiot too”
“They all are my dear, they all are”
She got off at the next stop, giving you a pat on the arm before leaving the carriage, leaving you ride the rest of the way to Fulham Broadway on your own.
You were on autopilot when you arrived, walking through the small shopping mall that had grown around the tube station, grabbing a pair of overpriced knock-off designer sunglasses from the concession stand to hide your puffy and red eyes, swollen from crying. As you stood in the crowd at the lights to cross the road, a stream of Ambulances and Police cars screamed past, lights and sirens blasting, but it was London, every day there was a crisis or accident and you were used to them.
The walk to your flat was quick, just a few roads from the tube, and you were thankful you’d brought your small clutch bag from the hotel room that had your phone, wallet, and keys in. Once inside you pulled off your clothing, everything Henry had bought for you, tossing it into a heap on the floor before you climbed into bed and curled into a ball, sobbing into the pillow.
-
You woke to the sound of a metal on plastic crunch from the street outside, familiar with the sound and you knew it was vehicle vs wheelie bin, an all too familiar occurrence when collection day was on a Friday and people went out that night, so the street would still be littered with bins the following day. Staring up at the ceiling you heard the doorbell ring, glaring at the ceiling but refusing to move. You didn’t care if your bin that had ended up a casualty of a car not looking where it was going, so when the bell finally timed out you closed your eyes… only to be rudely disturbed by a loud knocking on the door a minute later, a muffled voice from the other side;
“Princess… it’s me; Henry… please, just tell me you’re ok… I’ve got to know you’re ok…”
You could feel your emotions rising within you; a heat, an anger, and as the knocking continued you grabbed the dressing gown hanging on the back of the door and was still tying it as you pulled the door open, but surprised to see state of Henry, his clothes a mess and his face blotchy;
“What the hell happe…”
Your words were cut short as he pulled you into his arms, hugging you tight;
“You’re alright… my god, you’re ok…”
“Henry, what is going on?”
He let you go and started pacing;
“I was an ass, I didn’t follow you, I was stupid… I tried calling you but you never picked up…”
“I had it on silent… I didn’t want anyone to disturb our date”
“And then the accident, I’d gone back to the hotel, I knew it was the closest tube to where we were...”
“Accident?”
“There was an accident, on the road outside the London Bridge Tube, a bus and council truck collided and ran into the queue… I stayed and helped the emergency services; I was trying to find you… but you weren’t there…”
Your hand was over your mouth, tears pooling on your lashes as you looked at him, and realised he cared so much for you that he had literally pulled people out of the wreckage of an major accident because he thought he had lost you. Wrapping your arms around his shoulders you cradled the back of his head as he slumped to the floor, sobbing into your shoulder and the softness of your dressing gown.
Finally he pulled his head back, a weak smile on his face as he looked into your eyes, and you saw a different Henry, one that was fragile, one that needed you as much as you needed him.
“C’mon, let me put the kettle on”
-
Sipping on sweet tea as you both sat at the kitchen table, dunking Digestive biscuits in the deep brown steaming mugs, you looked him up and down;
“You are a mess”
He glanced down and realised his shirt and jeans were covered in dirt, grime, and in some places blood;
“You’re right” he paused before looking back to you; “Look, I’ve got a suggestion… pack a bag. Comfy clothing, overnight things. We’ll head back to the hotel and collect our things, then head back to my place. I’ll cook dinner and we can talk… ask all those things we’ve both wanted to ask since we met, yeah?”
He looked at you like a hopeful puppy, his deep blue eyes watery where he feared you would say no, but as you nodded he let out the breath he had been holding, and a genuine smile spread over his face.
-
Henry opened the door to his place and stepped aside, letting you enter and look around as he shut the door, resting all the bags from the hotel room on the shiny white tiles that covered the floor.
“This is your place?”
“It’s home for the next few months” he shut the door and wrapped his arm around you; “I gave up on having a permanent place about five years ago. I would always come back to a dust filled nightmare and a fridge that was a biohazard. I keep a PO box for any mail and a storage unit for my things that I don’t need when I’m away”
You looked at him;
“It sounds very… lonely…”
He paused, considering your words;
“I’ve never thought about it that way… but, you’re right” he wrapped his arms around you, his gaze intense; “I’m sorry I over-reacted earlier… about your flatmate. I was just… I don’t know, so focused I guess on this amazing thing we have now, and what we were talking about last night… how those I fall for push me away when I have to leave… I could only think ‘this guy will be around when I’m not’...”
You reached up and cupped his cheek with your hand, realising in that moment that for all the bravado and confidence, beneath that Henry was just like you, like anyone else, and feared losing those he cared for;
“I would wait… I will wait…”
You pressed a kiss to his lips, and the pair of you just held each other for the longest time, before he pulled away;
“What kind of host am I? I haven’t even offered you a cup of tea!”
Laughing you followed him into the kitchen, looking around at the sparse worktops, all the cupboards pristine white. Even the appliances were just plain brushed aluminium. As the kettle bubbled away you pushed yourself up onto the central island, sitting on the marble countertop as you watched Henry move around the kitchen, opening the fridge and pulling out the carton of milk, sniffing it and cringing;
“Okay, tea may be off the menu… the milk’s off”
Pausing he opened the cupboard, shoulders slumping when he saw the empty tea caddy;
“No tea either…”
Leaning back you pulled your phone from your pocket and opened google maps;
“This is Warwick Square, right?”
“Yes”
You pinched the screen and zoomed out, jumping off the counter;
“C’mon, there’s a Tesco Express just around the corner”
-
Walking hand in hand around Pimlico with Henry, it dawned on you that you had never visited this part of London, the sights and sounds much like most of the city, but where each little borough had its own character. Once you reached the supermarket he grabbed a basket and picked up the few things he needed, before his hand hovered over the selection of biscuits;
“Ok, make or break time to find out if we are truly compatible” his voice had an element of mischief in it as he spoke; “Milk or Dark Chocolate Digestives?”
You looked at the selection before you set your hand down on the bright blue packet;
“Trick question, we both know the true answer is Milk Chocolate Hobnobs”
He laughed as you dropped the packet into the basket, wrapping his massive arm around your shoulders and pulling you into his chest;
“I knew there was a reason I loved you” he turned to the row of refrigerators on the other side of the isle, unaware of what he’d said, and how your eyes were a little wider as you took in his admission; “Shall I make some burnt offerings for you tonight? I have somewhat limited culinary skills, but I can rustle up something with meat or fish…”
Nodding you were still a little stunned, finally finding your voice;
“Yeah, I’ll eat anything”
He cocked an eyebrow and you playfully batted at his arm;
“Oh shut up” you laughed
-
Dinner had been nice. An easy dish of roasted pork, Henry had thrown in some potatoes and had let them roast with alongside, and a simple salad. The one thing he did have readily stocked in his place was alcohol, and between the two of you an entire bottle of vintage Pinot Noir had been sunk over the course of dinner, and as you watched him stack the dishwasher you spread out on the massive white sofa that dominated the open plan space. You couldn’t help yourself but you popped the button of your jeans, letting out a sigh of relief.
Checking your phone you reopened your roommates’ email and read it again, before hitting reply. You knew deep down you wouldn’t be able to get a mortgage, but asked that you be kept in the loop and would start looking for another place come Monday. Having hit send you saw another email, this time from your Manager, requesting that you attend a review on Monday morning;
“Huh, so much for giving me a week off” you muttered to yourself, before looking up and seeing Henry approaching you, two full glasses of red wind in hand.
“Everything ok?”
Taking the glass you smiled;
“Yeah, work want me to go in for a review on Monday morning”
“Did they say what it was about?”
“No, but I’m guessing ‘playing heroics and injuring yourself on the job isn’t in your job description, please don’t sue us’ is probably on the agenda”
Settling next to you he rested a hand on your thigh, giving it a squeeze;
“I’m sure you’re right” he sipped at the wine before setting it on the small table at the side; “Hey I meant to ask, does your roommate have an Instagram account or Facebook page?”
“Yeah, I’ll pull it up. Its where he’s trying to do more serious photography”
He nodded and tapped at his phone for a few seconds before setting it aside, raising his glass again and clinking it against yours;
“Cheers”
-
By the time the last dregs of the 2nd bottle of wine were drained from your glasses you were drunk as skunks and just an amorous. You were draped over Henry’s lap, his hand was attempting to sneak under your t-shirt as you curled one hand in his hair, wrapping a deep brown strand around your finger as you kissed him lazily. When his hand finally found your breast you moaned at his touch, his lips brushing against your neck;
“I think we should take this to the bedroom”
You giggled;
“With the amount of wine we’ve had? Can you still get it up?”
He pushed his crotch up against you;
“Princess I’m already ‘up’, now I need to be in, and I don’t care which hole, I just want to feel you around my dick as we have some nasty drunk sex”
You attempted to slide off his lap and land on your feet, but what really happened was you tumbled into a heap on the soft white rug, one leg still on the sofa as the other hit the coffee table and your ass in the air;
“Help!” you cried out, giggling as Henry stood and swayed, before wrapping his arm around your waist and carrying you under his arm to the bedroom like a misbehaving poodle in Harrods.
He dropped you onto the bed and in the light from the lounge you watched as he yanked his t-shirt over his head, and started to unfasten his jeans, letting out a sigh of relief when the massive bulge in his boxers was allowed more room to grow. With a growl be bent over you and pulled your jeans down your legs, your panties following suit, before flipping you over so you were on your front. He went to reach for your ass but had forgotten his jeans were still around his thighs, and he proceeded to trip-tumble onto the bed beside you. You couldn’t help but to giggle into the soft duvet, and it earned you a single spank on your ass that make you squeal.
Rolling onto your back you looked at Henry as he huffed and puffed to take his jeans and boxers off, and you spread your legs as your hands strayed to your pussy;
“Are you doing to fuck me, or shall I just get myself started?” you said with more sass than needed, but it earned you a low groan and you could have sworn you heard seams ripping as he finally rid himself of his clothes.
“Cheeky wench!” Henry pounced on you, pulling your top over your head before fumbling with your bra, finally getting you out of it as he flung it across the room and you heard it hit something in the darkness; “I’ll show you, gonna fuck you so good you’ll have to sit on a cushion when you go into work on Monday”
He flipped you over and pulled your ass up, and you instinctively arched your back and bared yourself to him, prone and ready, begging for attention. You felt his hands smooth over your ass before dipping between your legs;
“Already so wet for me, you need me to fuck this cunt Princess? Fill you up with my cum? Or should I cum over your beautiful tits, so you can watch me as I spray my load on you, huh?”
He slid two fingers into your soaked hole, stretching you as his thumb found your clit and he rubbed harshly at it, the wine making him lose his finesse but up his pressure. When he pulled his fingers out you let out a needy whine, only to feel him press his dick against you, rutting into your crease and smearing your juices over himself.
The friction was delicious, and you found yourself pressing back and eager for more, earning a low chuckle to rumble up from Henry’s chest;
“You like that Princess? Like me rubbing my dick against your asshole?”
“Oh fuck… fuck… more…”
You felt him spit on your ass as he lowered his dick and slowly but firmly filled your pussy. As you were getting used to be filled so deep you felt his thumb press against your asshole;
“NERD!”
Suddenly Henry stopped;
“Princess?”
You turned, looking over your shoulder;
“Look Hen, I may be up for some anal play, but lube… you gotta use lube…”
You saw him look back and forth between your ass and his bedside drawers, as if trying to work out whether to forget the ass play and just fuck your pussy, or to give up your pussy for just a few seconds and get the lube. In the end the lube won, and he quickly slid out of you, leaning across the bed and yanking the drawer open, before pulling out a small bottle of Durex Lube. You saw it and grinned;
“Ooh nice one. Make sure there’s enough for a tit-wank in the morning”
Henry paused and looked at you, and you could almost see his brain short circuiting at what you’d said as it fought through the wine haze;
“Fuck, if I didn’t want to fuck you doggy style quite so much I’d say let’s do that now…”
He settled behind you and rammed his dick straight back into you, making you squeal as he filled you. You heard the quiet squeeze of the pump on the bottle before the cool gel fell on the crease of your ass and his fingers started to massage against your back door. He ran his finger around and around your brown rose, and you could feel yourself relaxing and trying to push back to get him to go further, making you whine;
“Please Hen… do something…”
He ran his thumb over your asshole and rested it on it before finally pushing in, holding the digit inside just up to the first knuckle, and that’s when he started to move in your pussy.
“So. Fucking. Good. My dirty little Princess…”
You whined for more, for him to go harder, deeper, and he did so with glee;
“You want more? Fuck yes, take my dick, can feel your insides parting for me, you like my thumb in your ass? Like being double stuffed?”
“Fuck…” your head was swimming, your chest resting against the bed as you snuck your hand between your legs and started to strum at your clit, urging your orgasm on as Henry turned into a feral beast behind you, fucking you raw and dirty, you pushing back for each thrust to feel him deeper and split you wider.
Your orgasm happened without warning, screaming out his name as you came so hard he was sure if he hadn’t pulled his thumb out your muscles would have broken the bones in it. Your knees gave way and you slumped down onto the bed, Henry still deep inside you, fucking you as you lay spent on the bed;
“So close… almost there…
“Cum on my ass Hen…” you muttered as he railed into you, and you heard a groan as he pulled out of you, seconds later the splash of his hot seed landing on your naked ass, back and thighs.
For a moment everything went quiet before you felt him wiping his cum from you, and he moved you in the bed until you were curled up in his arms, the little spoon to his big;
“You’re fucking amazing Princess, I fucking love you so much” he slurred, before the two of you feel asleep in drunken stupors.

THE WOLF PACK IS BACK
From relegation to top of the league
By Amy Nicholas
Wolverhampton Wanderers have come a long way from their 2012 relegation struggles. Coming up from league one to being 8th in the Premier League in 2019, this is the boost that the fans needed. Even through the darkest times, Wolves always find a way.
Wolverhampton Wanderers Stadium. ‘Out of darkness Cometh light’
Throughtout the year 2018/2019 Wolves are at their peak, taking 34,000 fans to our first Semi Final round at Wembley in 38 years. Nuno Espírito Santo being nominated Manage of the month last september and Ruben Neves named EFL Goal of the Year award. Following the 3-2 loss to Watford in the FA Cup Semi- final Wolves fans have still got the spirit that we will finish in the top 10 of the premier league.
Wolverhampton City Town Centre
With Wolves biggest sponsor being W88 and Adidas, it is said that it is the biggest sponsorship in Wolves history. The club signed the two year contract with the betting company following the dismissal of previous sponsor ‘The Money Shop’. The Money Shop had been the sponsor for Wolves since 2016. In 2018 Wolves had announced a four year deal with well known brand Adidas, it was also announced it will be on the home, away and training gear to promote the brand. Outside of the Molineux on match days there is a Merchandise Stand which sells goods for match days which can include content from sponsors W88 and Adidas.
Wolverhampton Wanderers Merchandise Stand outside Molineux.
The club has also added more Diversity to the team ranging from Liverpudlians to Portuguese legends. With it having a positive effect on the City and the team, the range of play has increased leading to the promotion of the championship to the premier league. The fan base has rapidly increased internationally following the previous game against Watford due to Raul Jiménez celebrating with a Mexican mask. Famous celebrities such as WWE star Sin Cara had given Raul the mask as it represents the culture of Mexico. Sin Cara had made a statement saying ‘the mask represents fortitude to reach your dreams no matter how big they are’. Fans are set to buy the Mexican mask to support Raul Jiménez on his dream with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
There are definitely a few things that are recurrent when it comes to Wolves fighting for a spot in the premier league. From League one and struggling to pay for consistent players in the transfer window, fans thought that they were at their worst. Lack of fans and lack of audience was something Wolves were quite regular with back in League 1. However, In 2009 they got promoted from the championship to the premier league which had definitely lead to an increase on season ticket holders.
Molinuex Subway with reflection of the Molinuex to show where the magic happened.
In 2007, Wolverhampton Wanderers was brought by Steve Morgan for an astonishing £10 from Sir Jack Hayward. Steve Morgan had been the owner for several years, during Wolves relegations and promotions making it a rollercoaster of emotions. By 2016, Fosun International had invested £30 million and became the new owners which has currently led the club to success. Since Fosun have been owners, Nuno Espírito Santo had been appointed manager in 2017 whilst being able to invest in players from all over the world.
In 1877 the club had been founded as St. Lukes FC until soon being known as Wolverhampton Wanders. Eventually Wolves had become one of the 12 founders of the Football League; from 1893 to 1949 Wolves had won 3 FA Cup League Titles which still honour the city to today's date. Legend, Sir Jack Hayward had brought Wolves and lead them to victory. 13 years after buying the company, Wolves had been promoted to the premier league in 2003.
I interviewed a Season Ticket Holder of 10 years, Karl Gandy and asked for his opinion on the difference between wolves then and now;
“It has been a rollercoaster ride. I have supported wolves since I was a kid. Being a season ticket holder through the rough times is rather frustrating but I still had faith and that faith has paid of this season”
“With Fosun taking over the club, it has impacted on the play of the game immensely. Back in early 2000s it was a completely different format to know, lack of money and not one stable manager. Nuno has changed the game for us completely, the amount of wolves fans now is crazy”
Wolves will next play on the 4th of May at Molinuex for the final home game of the season against Fulham at 3pm.

Should I Clean My New Carpets Before Moving into a New Home?
Have you relocated to a new house? Since even a home or apartment that appears clean can have filth and grime hiding in unexpected places, you must first be familiar with the new home's deep cleaning. Even though the kitchen and bathrooms will probably be at the top of your plan, it's crucial to clean the carpets as soon as you move in and before you settle in!
Carpets harbour a surprising amount of debris and germs. They probably contain their fair share of dirt, including bacterial and fungal spores, unless they were well cleaned before moving in. So it goes without saying that getting rid of bacteria, hair, skin cells, fungal spores, and all the other disgusting stuff living in the carpets of your new house is a significant advantage.
Your health and comfort still depend on prioritising carpet cleaning on your post-move to-do list. Call a specialised carpet cleaning in Hammersmith W6 to clean it immediately instead of allowing the dirt, germs & grime to continue to build up. Doing this will make you feel comfortable in your new home.
You can never be sure that your new home is cleaned to your standards and that it is free of recurring odours and stains! However, cleaning your carpets before positioning your furniture is a great choice. You can make sure that every inch of your carpets is thoroughly cleaned. Hiring the professional carpet cleaning service in Fulham ensures improving the airflow quality, getting rid of odours & improving the overall look of your space. Here's what you need to know, including why cleaning your carpets after a move is so important and how to do it properly.
• The carpets in your new home are most likely very dirty.
• The average carpet has more germs than a refrigerator door handle, a cellphone, and a toilet seat.
• About 36% of the dirt on an uncleaned carpet is made up of human hair.
• About 5% of the dirt comprises skin cells, plant matter, and fungal spores.
• The average person sweeps or vacuums the carpets between 17-20 days. Thus the carpets get plenty of time for bacteria and dirt to build up.
• Most people haven't had their carpets steam cleaned or shampooed in the previous 15 to 18 months.
These points indicate that if you don’t clean carpets after moving, your home is almost certainly not as spotless as you think it is. Cleaning the carpets before installing the furniture delivers that peace of mind that every new homeowner wants.
Even if the thought of cleaning your carpets extensively seems daunting, you don’t have to do it alone. You can minimise cleaning stress if you hire a professional carpet cleaning service in Hammersmith W6, like Fully Carpet Clean. With Fully Carpet Clean, you’re getting the deepest clean possible. Let them save you the time and energy needed to thoroughly clean your carpets so you can use that time packing and organising. In addition, they assure you get your carpets in great shape. So call Fully carpet Clean today! They look forward to helping you make your carpets look clean & fresh.

Our Tower Bath News
Bath Preservation Trust appoints Design Team for Beckford’s Tower
Bath Preservation Trust (BPT) has announced that architects Thomas Ford & Partners and quantity surveyors Stenning & Co have been appointed to lead the design work for the £3.3 million Our Tower project.
The Our Tower plan, which is funded by Historic England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, will address urgent repair and conservation works required to the almost 200-year-old Grade I listed Beckford’s Tower, that stands above the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath and is the only museum dedicated to William Beckford in the world.
Born in 1760, William Beckford was a colourful and controversial character. At just 10-years old he inherited his father’s fortune, which included the Fonthill estate and several sugar plantations in Jamaica. His wealth gave him the freedom to pursue his interests in art, architecture, writing and music.
In 1782, Beckford undertook a Grand Tour, which inspired his travel writing and passion for collecting which continued throughout his life – especially when exiled to Europe for 10 years following the exposure of his relationship with William Courtenay (1784).
In 1826 William Beckford commissioned an extraordinary landscape back home in Bath – a Garden between his Lansdown Crescent home and the retreat now known as Beckford’s Tower, where he could escape from the city within the natural environment. The Tower was created to house his library, art collection and every day Beckford would ride up there from his home, accompanied by his pack of spaniels. This expanse became known as Beckford’s Ride, a mile of interlinked gardens.

Beckford’s Tower stands in an exposed location and, like many historic buildings, almost two centuries of exposure to weather, pollution, and the challenges of climate change, now threaten the fabric of the building. There is now an urgent need for repair and conservation, particularly to address water ingress at high level within the belvedere & lantern. Beckford’s Tower was added to the Historic England ‘Heritage at Risk’ Register in October 2019.
Our Tower will bring new parts of the tower into use, and upgrade services and visitor infrastructure. BPT will also use the project as an opportunity to develop the visitor experience, engage wider audiences and reconnect the Tower with its lost landscape, through new experiences, interpretation, and access. A development grant awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund is also enabling Bath Preservation Trust to re-examine the way in which they share the story of William Beckford’s links to the transatlantic slave trade.

The project is scheduled to complete in winter 2023.
London based conservation architects Thomas Ford & Partners are led by Clive England, who brings over 30 years’ experience to the project. Clive is Surveyor of the Fabric to Ely Cathedral, and Cathedral Architect to Sheffield Cathedral.
Stenning & Co – who are located in Bath – are led by Quantity Surveyor Adrian Stenning. Experts and specialists in building conservation work, Adrian has worked extensively with organisations including the Landmark Trust and the National Trust.
BPT Capital Works Director Simon Butler said “We are delighted to welcome Thomas Ford & Partners and Stenning & Co to the project. Both bring huge conservation experience to this nationally important building, and we look forward to securing an exciting new future for this Bath landmark.”
Clive England said: “We are delighted to be involved with BPT’s Our Tower project. Beckford’s Tower is a unique building, in a spectacular setting, with a fascinating history – exactly the type of project that every conservation architect dreams about!”
Adrian Stenning said “I am very pleased to continue my relationship with the Bath Preservation Trust and in particular Beckford’s Tower with which I have been involved for over 20 years. I look forward to this opportunity to not just repair the Tower, but to also open up & show its’ story for a wider audience.”
Securing the Design team is just the start of this project, with urgent fundraising now needed to ensure vital conservation work to the building and landscape takes place, to ensure today’s visitors and future generations can continue to explore and enjoy this iconic Bath landmark.

London-based Weezy raises seed funding for its 15-minute grocery delivery app
First there was same-day delivery. Then came one-hour delivery. Now a new London startup wants to make 15 minute delivery a thing.
Putting the hyper hyper-local into online grocery shopping, Weezy combines its own strategically located fulfilment centres with a fleet of electric moped and bicycle couriers, ready to accept orders via the Weezy app. Its founders, Kristof Van Beveren and Alec Dent, think they’ve spotted a gap in the market for an online grocery service that targets “time-poor professionals and parents” who want the speed of an on-demand service but without it being prohibitively expensive.
Investors appear to agree, with Weezy launching out of stealth off the back of £1 million in pre-seed funding from Heartcore Capital, in addition to various individual backers made up of former executives of Ocado, Tesco, Sainsbury’s Chop Chop and Deliveroo.
Starting in London’s affluent Fulham and Chelsea districts, customers use Weezy’s app to select items on their shopping lists -– spanning fresh fruits, vegetables, bread and cupboard fillers, to over-the-counter medicines, cleaning products and alcoholic drinks — and pay. The order is then picked and packed at Weezy’s own fulfilment centre, before being delivered on electric scooters or bicycles within 15 minutes. The service runs between 10am and 10pm every day, charging £2.95 for delivery.
Notably, groceries are sourced not only from selected wholesalers, but also from local independent bakers, butchers and markets, seeing Weezy talk up its support for local businesses. The startup plans to open up to 15 more fulfilment centres in the U.K. capital city by the end of next year, before setting its sights on broader U.K. expansion.
“No other service delivers as quickly,” says Weezy CEO and co-founder Van Beveren. “Our hyperlocal fulfilment centre model works since we are able to optimise the space for fast picking and packing while having low property and fit-out costs, thereby keeping prices in check. This, coupled with our in-house team of riders, allows us to offer the fastest and friendliest grocery delivery service. And, compared to convenience stores, Weezy has better pricing and a broader and more premium range of products”.
In comparison, Van Beveren notes that Sainsbury’s Chop Chop takes up to 60 minutes to deliver (and outsources delivery to courier company Stuart). Amazon Prime Now promises 1-2 hours delivery via Morrisons and its own warehouses, while Amazon Fresh in London offers same or next day delivery.
“Next to speed, we have a full range of carefully curated products and pricing in line with recommended retail prices,” adds Weezy co-founder and COO Dent. “We also only use electric vehicles or bicycles for deliveries. We are committed to creating a supportive culture and the best working conditions for our team of riders, who are also trained to work in the fulfilment centre, and offered opportunities for career progression. Happy staff make happy customers”.

Since the very start of the Championship season, the other 22 teams have been playing catch up with Leeds United and West Brom. Now as we near the season’s resume, it’s hard to think that one dominant force wouldn’t have existed without the other. Marcelo Bielsa is soon going to be lauded in West Yorkshire. He is set to become the man who finally gifted Leeds to the Premier League after a 16 year hiatus, doing so in only his second season at the club. Slaven Bilic looks set to complete a similar achievement with West Brom, albeit not as dramatic as Leeds’ feat is bound to be, but his side and Bielsa’s have been the teams to beat throughout. At first it was West Brom who were leading the pack. They had a fine first-half of the season and were at times starting to pull away from Leeds. Bielsa’s side held their own though. They kept the heat on West Brom throughout and eventually they surpassed them, and now it’s hard to see West Brom reclaiming that top spot in the final nine games of the season. Leeds’ season hasn’t been without its blips though. Come Christmas time – the time of joy and celebrations, and often the scene of Leeds’ inevitable demise – the neutral fan was willing Leeds to ‘fall apart’ in a fashion so accustomed to them, and that same fate looked to be dawning on the club once again after a dismal 2-0 defeat at the City Ground at the start of February. That loss was Leeds’ fourth in five league games and it pulled them down to level on points with 3rd-place Fulham, and only two ahead of then 5th-place Brentford. West Brom remained a point ahead of Leeds, and their 2-0 win at a wet and windy Millwall the following day saw them take a four point lead over Leeds. Can you get 15 out of 15 on this Leeds United quiz? Have a go now! At that point – with West Brom pulling away and Leeds falling into the midst of the chasing pack – it looked as though the dream was over. As though Leeds were ‘falling apart. It was panning out to be the same story of last season. Bielsa had worked Leeds so hard in the first-half of the campaign that they had no legs come the second. Last season it was Norwich who won the title. They lost just six Championship games all season as they racked up 94 points – five more than runners-up Sheffield United and and whole 11 ahead of Leeds. But Norwich never looked as though they could win the title so comfortably, in fact they won just one of their opening six games in the Championship last season. It was only for them losing once in the league through 2019 that they could be crowned Champions. Norwich’s rise then was in tandem with Leeds’ demise. Leeds were the ones who were running away with it. After Kemar Roofe’s injury time double stole a 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers in December 2018, they were the ones with a three point lead over Norwich in second, and a six-point gap over West Brom in 3rd. But as Leeds have been the ones trailing this season, forever a point or two behind a painfully consistent and efficient West Brom side, it’s given them a constant target. In West Brom they’ve had a persistent threat to their Premier League dreams and it’s truly brought the best out of them. This Championship season will be remembered for their standout qualities – amongst other, more global events of course – and Bielsa may well be thanking Bilic for his and West Brom’s services to Leeds United this season.
