‘Tis the Season for Summer Packing- And I'm Packing it In!

I'm thinking of making Devil Eyes Officer Y/N a smoker, not like a chain smoker, but one who had previously smoked before joining the police academy and had quit, and then once inflicted with Eclipse's torment, turned back to smoking as an unhealthy coping mechanism (this would also include, of course, Eclipse's reaction to such a thing (he does not like it)), but, I'm afraid this will be a turnoff?? for readers?? so let me just ask

Akane’s backpack is super big, arguably bigger than Nene’s, so let’s talk about it.

We know why Nene’s bag is full: her plan was to stay with Hanako forever so she brought lots of things.

But Akane is just part of their rescue mission, which makes him comically overpacked.

He is the only character whose bag Aidairo put a light focus on it too, and they did it twice: First in this twitter art, where he stays up late to pack.

Then in the chibi art of vol 17, where things like the water bottle, food, and berry flavored snacks are flying as the characters fall: All items we see Akane putting in his backpack at night.

Even the fallen items we don’t see him pack, like the band-aids, the bread sticks and such, are all ‘essential’ items, which feels very Akane considering our only other reference points are Nene, who just packed games, and Teru, who packed a chopped demon hand, and yet there isn’t a single fun game or exorcist tool in the art.

But why did Akane pack so much? He has no hidden agenda like Nene, his plan was to work with the team: Once he saved Aoi he indulged enough to hug her, but was still quick to regroup, ready to get back. He even got angry at the Minamoto brothers for fighting instead of focusing on the mission.

He truly didn’t seem to have a grand personal plan, so I’m assuming it was a precaution.

Akane took this mission very serious. All the information he had is that they would go through a well, so he dressed up in complete hiking clothes, including gloves, and even brought a flashlight.

I believe he got ready for anything that could go wrong, including the worst possibility possible: That Aoi might be beyond saving. 

I cannot see any other reason why he would pack a big blanket (which is rolled up on top of his bag), and so much comfort food (him and Aoi likes raspberries).

He wants them both to live, and he will do everything he can to achieve that, but if they had proven to be too late and Akane was informed Aoi can’t come with them, he wouldn’t hesitate to stay behind with her. Because he loves Aoi more than his own life.

Abandoning her again just isn’t an option.

Socialite Series: Guide to Packing for a Trip

I’m back to making my guides! I’m going to call this my Socialite Series.

I enjoy travelling, especially when the place is not a typical ig tourist destination. I love immersing myself in other cultures, understanding and appreciating their history, tradition, art… there’s so much beauty in the world.

Ever since I began working, I always ensure that all my trips have some form of productivity, whether it’s networking or taking calls. I’m a director on the board of my family business, and I love my job. 

So whenever I pack, I travel light but with back ups and outfits ready for any situation.

Here are the basics that I carry on any trip, regardless of weather conditions:

Trousers, in my opinion, look a hundred times better than jeans. They make you look put together, whether its a casual occasion or an HNI event.

I network in nearly every country I visit because of the private business organisation that I’m a member of. They have a sub-organisation for their children, and we’re all kids of HNIs, business owners, prominent CEOs (think of the most famous or relevant CEO/ owner and there’s a 97% chance that they are a member too). Everyone is always decked to the T. You’ll see girls with VCA pendants, skinny and put together, the boys don’t care much, but it’s important to leave an impression among the girls circle. 

I adore a solid button down.

Dresses make you look feminine in a soft or sexy way. I always pack clothes that are modest to semi modest at best; never too much skin. I personally don’t have social media for privacy reasons and if a photo of me goes public, I definitely don’t want it to be immodest. I pack two types: day and evening wear.

I love shawls. Jackets make me feel masculine so unless a sexy chap has offered his jacket to me, I’m not wearing it. Shawls make me feel chic and instantly elegant. 

I always carry four kinds of shoes - two pairs of heels (black and white), running shoes and a pair of flats. 

Then of course, there’s the staples you can’t go without: toiletries and undies, my handy steam iron, my silk PJ set that makes me feel like a goddess.
