Summary: It’s been 8 months. You’re on tour and Zayn finally decides to talk to you. Your phone was buzzing, over and over, the name flashing on your screen. The room was dead silent as the boys watched your face. You hadn’t been home in 8 months. You’d ignored all the angry texts and calls for the first couple of months. After your first show, you’d finally answered their call. Only to be yelled at and hung up on. And now they were calling you again. You didn’t go back home that night. You’d caught on to the beat pretty quick and after practicing for a few hours, you had decided you wanted to stay. Not just because you were excited to go on tour with the boys, but because you felt…normal around them. And safe. And wanted. So you stayed. You went back the next day when you knew your parents were at work, packed everything that you thought was important, and never looked back.

And now here you were. Staring at the screen as “Mom” flashed on it, nervously wringing your hands and bouncing your leg. “Y/N-” Zayn whispered, watching your face carefully. “Love, you should answer it. We’re right here. We’ll drag you out if it goes south. We promise,” Harry soothed, the other boys humming in agreement. You looked at them, then back at your screen, breathing out slowly as you reached for your phone. Hands shaking, you answered it, placing it on speaker and leaving it on the table. “Hello?” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “Y/N. When are you coming back home?” your mother asked. Her voice was rigid, and too calm and collected for your comfort. No ‘how are you’ or ‘where are you’. “Why?” you asked, anger and pain building up inside you. You felt Zayn put his hand on your thigh, and rub it gently. You put your hand on his, and he took it into both hands, rubbing his finger over your knuckles. It was something he used to do for you before he left for the X-Factor. He still remembered.

“What do you mean why? We are your family. You better be back tomorrow. I don’t care if you’ve found your calling or whatever quote you’re gonna throw at me. We will not allow this. Get your mind out of the gutter and get back, and maybe we’ll forgive you for being so selflish.”

And the line disconnected.

You froze. Staring at the phone. Zayn’s grip on your hand tightened, gently pulling you towards him, until your head was resting on his shoulder, one arm wrapped around you as the other held on to your hand, his head leaning on yours gently. Before you even understood what was happening, the boys had gotten up from their seats, surrounding you. Harry hugged you from the other side, his head resting on your shoulder, Liam and Louis sat in front of you, hands and chins resting on your knees, as Niall hugged you from behind, pulling Harry and Zayn even closer to you in the process.

And for the first time in months, your tears overflowed. As empty as you felt because of your parents. Your friends made you feel more at home than you ever had. After a few minutes of quiet comfort, you started to sit up right, the boys moving away a little bit, to give you some space. “They can do whatever they want. I’m not going back.” You declared. No one said a word. You stood up. “Excuse me. I need a minute.”

—----------------------------------------- Harry was worried about you. He knew the others were too but he just couldn’t get himself to do anything. You hadn’t eaten, and no one even knew where you were. Except him. On a particularly rough night of the tour, he’d snuck away to the hotel balcony to gaze up at the stars. And you’d been there. You both had laughed and talked for hours. And ever since, when something was wrong, he’d meet you outside, gazing at the stars. So when it was almost midnight and you still hadn’t come back to your room, and all the boys started visibly panicking, Harry said he knew where you were and that he’d check on you. Did he notice the way Zayn’s face dropped? Perhaps. Did he know why? No. He was too worried about you to care. He made his way outside the shared apartment, walking all the way to the back to see you sitting on the grass, gazing up at the dark sky.

“Hey Star,” he called. The five of them had given you that nickname after realizing how obsessed you were with those tiny balls of light. “Hi Harry,” you called back softly, turning to him as he sat down next to you.

You both sat there for a few minutes in silence, as Harry just looked at you, trying to read into your eyes. “My scars are starting to fade,” you whispered, looking down at your arms. Harry followed your gaze, a slight pain in his chest at the mention of them. Your scars had indeed started to get lighter. “Are you happy then?” he asked, eyes back to searching your face. You didn’t say anything for a minute, before slowly nodding your head. “Yeah, I am. I don’t want to let them affect how I see myself anymore,” you cleared your throat, looking back up at the sky.

Harry didn’t know for sure if you meant your scars, or your parents by them. But he has a feeling it was both.

“So…to a new chapter then?” Harry asked, looking up at the sky.

Just as the light on your watch lit up to signal midnight, you nodded, “To a new chapter.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Now....

1D x Reader - Beach Day

Summary: After months of hard work, you and the five boys get a day off and head to the beach for some fun.

Word Count: 837

It’s rare for you and the boys to be allowed free time to go out while on tour. You’re either rehearsing, doing sound check, performing, or working on recording the next album.

When you’re not working, you’re forced to stay in the hotel. Sometimes you’re permitted to hang together, but other times you’re all relegated to your own rooms. Without fail, it only takes a few weeks of this for you all to feel like prisoners.

You’re in Italy for a couple of shows, and it looks beautiful outside. It’s mid-morning on a day off. You’re standing on the patio of your hotel room, breathing in fresh air and wishing you were swimming in the gorgeous blue water you can see just across the street. 

You sit on the ground when suddenly you hear a sliding door open to your right. Louis steps out onto his deck and greets you. “Hey there Dolly,” he says, calling you by the nickname you’d earned due to your Dolly Parton obsession. 

“Hey, what are you up to?” you ask.

“Well, I was keeping pretty busy staring at the wall but I started seeing shapes in the wallpaper so I figured I should go outside before I fully lose my mind,” he replies.

“Well I’m glad you didn’t go all Yellow Wallpaper on us.”

“It’s only a matter of time before we all go mad, being locked up like this,” he says and you nod in agreement. 

He gives you a look and starts to climb over the railing that separates the two decks. “What are you doing? You’re going to hurt yourself!” you exclaim.

“Relax love, we’re only on the second floor. I could easily jump to the ground from here.” Another mischievous look crosses his face. “What do you say to a jail break?”

“Are you insane?”

“Nope, but I will be if I have to keep staring at that beach that’s just out of reach. C’mon, go get your stuff and let’s escape for a couple hours.” 

You take in his idea, and while you hate breaking rules, you’re a teenager. You’re wired to be just a little bit rebellious. You agree and both of you rush to pack a small bag with essentials. 

“Alright, I’ll climb down first and then help you,” Louis says. 

Of course, the second he starts to go over the railing, Paul happens to walk by on a nearby path. 

“And just what do you think you’re doing?” he says. 

Well crap, you think to yourself. Now we’re caught. You all love Paul, he’s like a big teddy bear, but still he’s head of security. Which means your plan is completely foiled, and you’re likely to get in a heap of trouble with management.

Even Louis can’t talk back to Paul, and explains, “We’re trying to prevent insanity. There’s a perfectly good beach right there and we’re forced to stare at it. It's cruel, Paul. Psychological torture.”

The man looks at the two of you for a moment and says, “Give me one hour. I’ll see what I can do.” With that he walks away. You and Louis look at each other in confusion, but you both trust the man so you decide to sit and wait.

Thirty minutes later, there’s a text in the group chat that the six of you have with Paul. It reads “Roger and I will be up in fifteen minutes to take you all to the beach.”

True to his word, the security guards show up and within minutes you and the boys are setting up in the sand. 

“Last one in the water’s a rotten egg!” Niall shouts and the six of you all start running. You’re grateful for Louis tackling Liam, ensuring you won’t come in last place. Moments later the two of them decide to become a team and challenge the rest of you in a game of chicken. You and Zayn being the least competitive decide to be partners and quickly lose every round. You don’t even care about repeatedly splashing into the chilly water, just happy to be normal for a while.

Back on the sand, you, Harry, and Niall work together to make a sand castle. It may not be perfect, but it sure is made with love. 

Lunch gets delivered to you all, meaning you get to stay and hang out even longer. After eating, you all set out your towels and nap, warmed by the sun's rays. The two security guards watch over the group closely, and if Paul takes a couple pictures so you can reminisce on the day later, well no one needs to know that. 

That evening you all go back to your rooms to shower and change before meeting up for dinner. For one day, this feels like a vacation, rather than the constant work and stress you normally feel.

You’re all just a tad sunburnt at the show the following night, but a day spent having fun with your best friends is worth it.

Fans were quick to speculate that Harry Styles has split from his influencer girlfriend, YN Tomlinson, when they noticed YN didn't attend the singers Live On Tour shows in Manchester or London.

The former One Direction member and YN report they are "taking a little break".

Harry, 24, began dating his bandmates sister YN, 24, in 2011 after the couple was pictured kissing at a party.

A source close to the pair said they split after almost seven years together is down to them having “different priorities and commitments that are keeping them apart”.

YN read the article and now it felt real for her. She looked around their London home, photos of them together, with their families, all the furniture they had chosen together teased her.

She sat all morning on sofa, the tv playing in front of her, tears streaming down her face. For the first time ever, she felt alone. Sure, her family and friends, and even Harry's family and friends had checked in on her, but she felt lonely.

After driving home to Doncaster to her grandparents house, YN walked through the door with Teddy in her arms. She was surprised how quiet the house was considering all her sisters were here. She had found her Nan in the kitchen, waiting for her.

"Come here my love". Jen pulled her eldest granddaughter into her arms and the tears began to roll down YN's cheeks once more that day. "Shh..it's okay my darling".

"I just miss him Nan...and I miss Mum".

"I know darling...it's not going to be easy but you'll be okay". Jen tried to reassure her as she wiped the tears from her cheek with a tissue.

Trying to distract herself, she placed Teddy down onto the floor and watched him scuttle off into the other room. "Where's Grandad and the girls?".

"They've just gone for a walk..the girls got a little restless waiting for you".

Once the girls come back and smothered their oldest sister with cuddles and filled her in on all the drama of being young teenagers, they all cuddled up in the living room with pillows and blankets and watched all their favourite films. It was during this time that YN felt just at home, almost like she was a child again and hanging out with her siblings.

But it was later on that night when she was lying alone in bed, an empty space next to her, that the pain hit her again. Despite the distance that separated them the last few months and the disagreements they were having, YN still loved him.

She held her phone in her hand, hovering over his name. She wanted to hear his voice, even if it was just to say goodnight. She debated sending him a text. Just as she was about to change her mind and lock her phone, it pinged.

When [Lottie] Tomlinson was invited to Bali, she asked Fizz whether she wanted her to stay behind. “She said she was OK, and then it happened while I was away,” she says. Wolves

In the OOTW tour screens (recreated in the TV Lyric video) Taylor is a wolf, an apex predator (apex popstar) running with a peer partner through the woods. The tour screens came before the MV where Taylor was alone, hunted before solitarily leading the pack.

When the music video came out Taylor liked multiple posts confirming they represent the wolves media & GP (Below) pulling them apart. I think the change in her role indicates it’s more complex than media/GP, it’s also her own fame. She is not just prey, she is a wolf herself. In TTPD I think we have a deeper look at the things tearing at her yes fans & media but fame & industry also.

This meaning of wolves as dark side of fame is particular interesting with Daylight where the muse ran with the wolves and wouldn’t settle down, as in they chose to be pursue fame, similar to the lost boys in Peter:

That’s currently my top priority and I have a couple other partially written oneshots for You Can Start a Family that should be out soon.

Next Story

I do have a couple half baked ideas for my next story. I’m planning to do a one direction and reader ABO pack story.

Details for each option are under the poll!

Ideas 1-3 take place in the past when one direction was together. Idea 4 is current day during a reunion.

1. One Direction X Reader

In this story, all 5 members of the band, as well as reader, would be not only a pack, but in a relationship. Like, romantically involved and all that.

2. Alpha Louis x alpha Harry x omega Reader

Louis and Harry are together, but alpha x alpha relationships are frowned upon unless they’re a trio with an omega. So management brings an omega into the band and has her act either as their third or as a beard for either Louis or Harry in order to hide their relationship (still undecided)

3. Alpha Louis x hidden omega Harry x omega reader

Nearly the same as the last one except Harry is actually an omega but management is having him act as an alpha. The still bring in omega reader just like the previous one

4. Alpha Niall x omega reader

The band is a pack, Louis and Harry are together, Zayn x Liam are together. Niall still hasn’t found his one. All 5 have kept in touch throughout the hiatus and are finally getting back together to make more music. They rent a house together and Niall meets the omega living next door.

To clarify, the band is a pack in all of these but only all romantically involved in the first one.

1-3 are similar to me so I’d only do one of those. I may do 4 as well since it’s different enough from the others that it won’t feel repetitive. So if you’re interested in one of the poly fics as well as the Niall one, vote for the poly fic of your choice and maybe comment that you’re interested in the Niall one as well.

I love Louis for wearing those shorts, on X people literally had a breakdown because in one moment he pulled his shorts up and ooooh, I´m not jealous of H at all! I know so many people are drooling over H´s legs which is totally understandable but it makes me annoyed because Louis´ legs are also so delicate and honestly if they were tattoo-less, I would have hard time to quess which legs are whose because they are quite identical imo (maybe H´s thighs are bulkier because he works out but otherwise they´re the same). Hope they are wrapping them around each other as I´m writing this. And also hope H will take care of Louis a bit because I was watching Louis´ set on Sat and he couched quite often imo and even drank tea on stage so I guess he caught a little cold from the mixture of airconditioned flights and superheat exteriors. But his mood seemed great and I just love that he´s keeping his hair short, it suits him so much! Harry, if you´re reading this, throw away all trousers from your husband´s suitcase and pack him you supershort shorts only, we are running out of time and we need Louis in supershort shorts, please!
