The credits to the movie you were watching with your boyfriend have long since faded out, but neither you or Jiung make a move to get up from the couch and the warmth of the blanket tucked carefully around your huddled bodies. The silence is interrupted only by the buzz of electricity and the occasional hum of an old tune in Jiung’s throat.

“It’s perfect.” You whisper back, one hand moving to the back of his head to scratch gently at the strands of hair at the back of his neck. Jiung sighs contentedly at the feeling, letting his forehead fall to the top of your head, smiling when you tilt your face towards him. His eyes soften when they meet yours, and the clock on the wall ticks slower when his gaze drops to your lips, then back up with a soft exhale.

You tuck your thumb under his chin, slide your forefinger over his bottom lip, and guide his mouth to yours.

It’s easy to pry a soft, breathless sound from Jiung’s parted lips. His hands slip under your sweatshirt and tighten on your waist as he melts to your touch. With gentle thumbs, you trace his cheekbones, the lines of his jawline, the slope of his chin. His own fingertips leave goosebumps over your skin from their feather-light touches, and you shiver, leaning into him, tilting your head to slowly deepen the kiss.

He mumbles your name against your lips and you swear you feel the quiet rasp of his voice through your whole body. You shush him, kissing him once more, lingering, before your lips trail across the side of his face and under his jaw. Jiung’s next exhale is particularly shaky, his eyes heavy lidded and dazed. His head tilts backwards to give you an open canvas, and you slowly work your art across his flushed skin, the heat of his body simmering where your lips and teeth leave darkening love marks.

His hands slip up your back and press your body close to his, forcing you to shift your body onto his lap. You angle his face back to you and capture his lips again, hands winding into his hair as he smiles into the kiss. The clock sits still as the seconds stretch and lose meaning, both your minds far too hazy to keep track of anything other than the touch of skin on skin, teeth grazing lips, hands tightening holds. Jiung kisses you like the world could burn and he wouldn’t notice. His lashes flutter, eyes gazing into yours when you drop his bottom lip and murmur, “Yeah. Perfect.”

The clock moves faster; Jiung lays back onto the couch, grabbing your waist to pull your body over top of his. You giggle as his hands run under your shirt, trailing goosebumps over your skin as they trace your sides. Cupping his face, you press your smiles together, holding him close as he holds you tight. Your fingers slide into his hair and his slide up your back, pressing your body to his with flat palms. Moments blur together in Jiung’s warmth, the gentle yet purposeful push and pull of his mouth, the skim of his fingers across your skin.

The clock ticks steadily on, steady as his pounding heartbeat in your ear, steady as his delicate hands and their tight grip on your waist, steady as love painted over skin and whispered between parted lips.
