(aka i was thinking about pirates worldbuilding again)

Despite how inclusive the Isles do tend to be to everyone from all walks of life, stereotypes do prevail; it’s just something that comes along with any sort of community where groups are separated in such a way. Few people are outright vicious or hateful about it, and it’s still much better than it was in the past, before the age of piracy was revived.

The differences in the Factions aren’t always outright noticeable, but they do exist. Sometimes it’s something as simple as just the kind of people you see joining or being offered to join the faction itself.

The Kestrels are the most obvious about it; all of the Kestrels are wealthy. Very, very obviously so. The circumstances vary; some Kestrels are old money, descended from generations of wealth. Others are self-made, through hard work and dedication.

Of course, there’s one little Kestrel that doesn’t fit either of these categories, but nobody needs to know that.

The short of it is, if you aren’t wealthy, you won’t be a Kestrel. They go out of their way to name it as their defining quality, that’s just how it is.

The Herons are second on the list, in terms of how apparent this can be. A few Herons are also “legacy” or generational Herons, descended from past Herons themselves. Others don’t have familial ties to the faction, but have family who have done or discovered important things, historically. Still, though, some Herons don’t fit either of these categories, being offered to join purely because they happened to fit the values of the faction.

The Nightingales are much less restrictive. While they do still have preference for those who fit in well with the expectations and values of the Nightingales as a whole, they have a much more diverse group in terms of backgrounds and heritages. All that matters in the end is that you understand what it means to be a Nightingale.

This leaves the Kites; the Kites are on the entire opposite end of the spectrum. While, back in the early days, those in charge were fairly selective, this changed quite a bit over the years. Now, the Kites have pretty much no criteria for who “can” be a Kite. Of course, they still attract a specific sort of person, but the Kites have a rule; no matter who they are, the Kites extend an offer. In some cases, cases that started this rule, the Kites would have ended up being the only person to extend an offer. They’ll even accept those who have been kicked out from other factions, on the grounds that any misdeeds aren’t repeated and weren’t too serious to begin with.

As such, the Kites have the most diverse range of members. While some (one, really) Kites are generational, most come from all walks of life across the seas. Some were (or are) wealthy, some had important families, while others had little or nothing at all before arriving to the Isles.

This, as well as the Kites’ general reputation of being a violent faction, leads them to bear the brunt of harsh stereotypes and prejudices from other factions. The “quality”, the appearance, of the Kites’ territory also doesn’t lend well, being much less extravagant than their siblings. (Of course, this isn’t to say that the Kite territory doesn’t look nice or well-kept, just that, compared to the other three, they’re much less visibly wealthy. Much of Kite territory is simple cobble and wood buildings, stone paths worn down to pebbles or gravel roads kicked to the side to reveal the dirt underneath. It often feels more like a childhood fort than a proper faction.)

I think especially at a point where coop feels smth for lucy he would be very mindful in a sense what he says about the brotherhood around lucy specifically bc he knows there was at least something going on there w/them and isn’t trying to even appear like he might be trying to say smth against max specifically for fear of it coming across as jealousy in any way at all.

Like he’s not gonna sugarcoat things if the topic comes up and shit like he didn’t in the finale but he’s not trying to directly influence how she feels about the brotherhood either. And it’s not just bc of the max situation but that is a factor in him being particularly mindful of what he says and how. And I mean like to a degree. Again he’s not gonna sugar coat things but he’s also not just gonna be out there dragging them either even if he could lol

Don't write down your crimes, don't commit murder in front of witnesses. Except if this person attacks her, they might regret it.

"Anyway," she looked at their hands trembling, "somethin' set you off or what?" Her hand wasn't on her sword yet, but Lyn was ready to defend herself if need be.

At the words spoken, the teenager freezes, panic washing over her as pale eyes widen, head snapping over to the one who interrupted her.

Trembling hands snap the neck in his hands, a sickening crack sound echoing across the small town.

They’re silent. Too silent as he stares at the other, an unnaturally blank expression on him as his chest rises and falls evenly, looking inhumanly calm.

“Who the fuck are you?” She blurts out, teeth gritting and grinding together, hands tightening their grip on the snapped neck.

It's obvious why Celeborn is now the fandom bogeyman but to say that his presence would diminish Galadriel's role as the protagonist in ROP is silly.

JD&P have structured the show to have a different protagonist each season (starting 4:28). They're doing this so that we can get a sense of how different factions operate and for each season to feel different. In s2, Sauron is the protagonist, effectively shifting away from Galadriel as the lead. Yet, in a reduced role, Galadriel still has a storyline. In s3, we can expect a new protagonist. With the focus on Numenor, I think it could be Miriel or Elendil. That doesn't mean that suddenly Sauron and Galadriel lose their places in the story.

You don't have to agree with the showrunners' decisions (I sure don't agree with all of them) but making up thin headcanons to dunk on a character that hasn't appeared on the show yet as of now, is not it.

vinestaff likes to make pottery, she also likes rock tumbling!!

every faction has a sub faction.

shuriken is a eel. he likes geodes,, and pretty rocks.

skateboard likes coca cola and Dr pepper, no reason it just tastes good. he also likes collecting bottle caps and trading cards for fun

coil and skateboard like showing off their collections of random things. coil likes building Legos with skate, no reason other than he just thinks its fun.

he (coil) will also jokingly will break a little bit of whatever skates building with Legos or knock it down bc its funny, skate doesn't mind this, he does it back and then they help rebuild it :P

skateboard has a friend group that consists of: coil,bb/boom box, sling, shuri, and rocket

rocket does interact with the playgrounders from time to time. he doesn't mind any of them, he just would rather not be associated with playground because a lot of people dislike playground, mostly cuz skate but yuh

thats all of my silly hc. these are mostly tidbits and silly stuff. I don't know how to articulate my words so if this sounds stupid, sorry I tried not to make it sound stupid

My current headcanon for Miss Snapdragon and her relation to P!Owen is that she’s his older sister, probably about five or so years older than him. She was married off before Owen got disowned and ran off following her first husband’s death under mysterious circumstances. The second husband died under similarly mysterious circumstances leaving her remarkably wealthy when the wealth of both was combined.

The third husband she pushed down the stairs after a very heated argument.

Alongside running the banana market behind the scenes and the casino on the faction isles, she owns three more casinos elsewhere in Eclesia, two speakeasys in an area where alcohol is banned and those are just the business ventures she tells her little sister about.

Owen has a room at her house but the only time he has really stayed with her for any extended period of time was after Sam died.

Hello I have come to word vomit RGB trio thoughts and headcanons. Beware some of these will probably be nonsensical and not in order.

I think skate has the worst fashion taste out of the three. I can't say much on this though cause I also have an atrocious sense of fashion/lh

Boombox and to an extent Skate talk in 80's slang. Like radical, bodacious, hella, etc. 80's coded boombox just lives in my head rent free and i can't kick him out/silly

Their alcohol tolerance from lowest to highest goes: Skate, BB, Sling

BB and Skate crash at Slingshot's place ALL the time. At this point even Shuri and Vine are used to them just random showing up

^^continuing this I think they like to enter through anywhere but the window. Most especially Skate. BB at the very least is willing to act like a Normal person and use the door SOMETIMES. Skate however if he uses the door you'll bet that he's going in on his board. Whether or not he immediately crashes and breaks something inside is another thing/lh

Sometimes they'll just have Katy Perry Sessions with Shuriken. Like literally just listening to Katy Parry. Don't. Don't ask why I don't know either/lh

Sling is the smartest academically in their group and is probably the best at math. Not saying he's a prodigy im just saying BB and Skate are probably dumb as shit with math /lh+aaff

Sometimes Skate likes to record his Sick Moves™ and sometimes it would Also be in a place he proooobably shouldnt be in so Sling and BB take turns being on either camera duty or watch duty. Whether either of them are good at it is a different discussion/silly

Skate was caught stealing by the police once but BB was there and somehow he managed to trick them into believing he was Skate's lawyer and that he did not steal anything. Sling watched from the distant absolutely flabbergasted

Sling prices his menu very high and whenever someone asks he's just like "Oh yk, inflation!" and somehow it always works

they like setting fireworks off at night. Sometimes BB can't come cause he's too tired from work or something tho so

Despite Slingshot being the most academically smart in the group Boombox is the one who would hesitate when given a big shiny red button that could nuke Crossroads. Sling and Skate would see a shiny red button and go "ooo shiny" then BOOM!!!! /silly

idk if you want this but I have an au with my friend using the skins ingame (and some we made up for it hehe) where Snowboard and Rainbox were highschool best friends and they would get into shenanigans together like light theft (Rain is the distraction), parties maybe, etc andddd I love them very much

Snow in the au has canonically tried to rizz up a girl (in High School) only to bag her boyfriend AND her brother

even when you ask yourself, "do you Really want to live like this?", do you hesitate to answer? it is just a yes/no question but does your answer Always have a "but" after it? because going against what you've been taught growing up is Not An Option For You, at least in your mind?

oh to think when someone asks, "how do you Live like this?", the response in your heart is "you don't." because in a toxic household, there is only survival and you Build Your Bed on surviving based on what you have been taught. because you can barely fathom a life where this Isn't the case.

this sounds like an assurance of confidence, yeah, but who Are you trying to convince? are you telling the world, or are you telling yourself? with all that you have already said, one might wonder which is truly the case.

(also, when cc!scott said that his character had "anxiety" from trying to live up to the expectations, was this supposed to mean "anxiety (emotion)" or "anxiety (disorder)"? because while the first one is very obvious, i would not be surprised if the second one happens to be the case as well.)

in summary: p!acho is a walking embodiment of trauma and drops it in Moments across many livestreams so you don't forget. p!scott is Also a walking embodiment of trauma but drops it in the first three minutes of the series and Never speaks of it again.

Married P and Alice Headcanons

-Alice and P(now going as 'Pietro') have aged very well. P deciding to go back to bouncy fluffy hair but also sporting a well kept beard and has become perfectly broad-chested. The man is built like a swashbuckling hero.

-Both dress very nicely thanks to P's inheritance.

-P choose to keep Alice's surname thus, Pietro Liddel and both are known as Mr. and Mrs. Liddell

-P has decided to become a toymaker while Alice has become a school-teacher. The former getting a significant reputation as 'The Silver-Handed Toymaker' from the locals

-Fortunately P has managed to pass his legion arm off as a prosthetic which given Krat's reputation, the public managed to buy it.

-They look a bit eccentric but not too much. Alice wearing vibrant blues and whites while P has clothing that do give off a "dandyish toymaker" vibe. It's enough to give the vibe while they look like a happy married couple, there's an air of mystery to them that we the viewers know well. Think of fantasy and sci-fi movies of the 1980s like The Pagemaster, The Never-Ending Story, or Back To The Future that feature some kind of shopkeeper or librarian or teacher who has an odd secret.

-Thanks to the @theabyssfairy they got a kiddo, a daughter. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Liddell II, which surprised the couple that P was capable. Granted P when he became human did become...*ahem*...well endowed...and they did...consummated...on their wedding night and did...try...out of curiosity after they felt they were ready to be parents...but they never expected to actually conceive. They were just so happy they both had a family again, and they love their daughter to death.

-Also due to the her father's magical origins(ergo) and her mother's gift of entering other minds, Lizzie finds out she can do magic. I can't figure out what exactly though. So yeah, Lizzie is a sorceress of some kind. And the couple are trying to find out what to do about that without the Alchemists catching wind. God knows what they would do with her.

-Lizzie is daddy's little princess :3

-Of course all of this makes P as what many online to day would call erm...*cough*...a DILF...and he gets a lot of gazes from other ladies which Alice gets possessive "My husband >:T" and of course as Victorian ladies do, they get nosey and ask Alice...certain questions...in regards to conceiving Lizzie.

Her response?

-Giangio and his faction, if they are the big good as I think they are, have the family under their protection.

-There was a case of family drama of the Liddells when it came to Lizzie being frustrated with all the secrets they gotta keep. But it's typical drama of all teenagers that get resolved. She soon understands why her parents are extremely protective of her, especially when she learns about the alchemists, her late Grandfather, and even Bumby.

-Venigni is Lizzie's Godfather, "Uncle Veni", and Sophia her "Aunt Sophie", Eugenie her “Aunt Genie” and Nanny her, well, Nanny and Lizzie loves them all and they love her.

Designed a random fire caste T'au dude/dudette a few days ago because I was in a character design mood.

Gave this one more artistic liberties than how I previously did with T'au. Been wanting to do my own take on the species for a while, and do expect more art of them to come since they're my favourite faction and I feel they don't get a lot of fanart. Took inspiration from monk outfits and gave them super sharp dewclaws cuz why not.

Included both male and female heads. I like the idea/speculation that T'au have very little sexual dimorphism with the shape of their noses being one of the few (If not, the only) thing to tell them apart. Yes that also means that female T'au don't have breasts and that's also my headcanon for them :P plus I don't think I've seen it anywhere in the lore that says they do or any official art depicting them with it.

his parents stared at him bleakly from across the square, and finn dug his claws into the kite banner a little more fiercely, like his doubt might pull it away. none of them said anything, just stared for a long moment, until finn turned away to join a group of kites that were coalescing near the road to the tavern.

a little p!finn backstory post for you! finn is a pirate who was born and raised in the faction isle lifestyle, except that his parents- arthur and mary blackwood- are both kestrels. they’ve cut off contact with him since he chose to join the kites instead of sticking with the kestrels, and his factioning experience was not a pleasant one. he’s fine now though! (< blatant lie)

(fun fact: this piece was where my “on the day of the factioning, each new recruit gets a banner with their faction’s colors and symbol on it (as seen in the info on the wiki)” headcanon was born!)

*Hand stretches out from a black hole and hands you this and a friendly pat* I don't know about you, but Wedge going all protective mode with Hotshot is something that makes me vibe. Idk why, but to me, Wedge will always be larger and bulkier, even if it’s just a tiny bit, than Hotshot….

Imagine: Wedge, while searching for Hotshot, walks just in time to see some student (maybe from the first years) trying to get close to him. The problem? A) it's obvious that their reasons to do so is only cause he's THE Hotshot (he's famous and all that) B) Hotshot gets more and more nervous as the bot gets more pushy, and is clear that he's highly uncomfortable with the unwanted attention

Hotshot gets the memo, a bit late, that trying to get out of this situation by being polite won't work, and as a result: he gets his ass cornered real quick….right in front of Wedge, who has watched the entire sequence and went from angry to furious. Really fast, the fan gets forcibly removed from Hotshot space, and while not happy to receive this treatment, they know better than to face a bot way larger than them and clearly pissed off

And I'm talking about the whole con worthy pissed off look: sharp fangs bared in a snarl, plating all flared up (which only makes him bigger) and with cold-dark optics simmering with rage; if Wedge had claws, they would also be out too (some instincts never go down, no matter the faction) Because of this display (and the underlying promise of violence), they choose the only logical option left: they run (cause they wanna live long enough to graduate ofc)

Meanwhile, HS is holding into Wedge, a bit shaken from this experience but also simping hard (cause seeing his boyfriend like this does things to him). Only to get his face cupped between W servos and softly asked if he is alright (his simpmeter goes ballistic from this, and his optics are permanently heart shaped)..... And yeah, I visualize HS like that meme “I'm scared and aroused”, but I think “I'm scared and simping” is more appropriate for this case.

These two need a cuddle session, like asap. Now that I think of it….this could also apply to a scenario where HS actually faces danger of some sort (I give you this scenario, you do whatever you want with it)

Bare with me this is gonna be a doozy

I'll be honest. It all started with me being real emotionally attached to p!Will & me falling down a rabbit hole of associating the song "Open Arms" with him because- even if I'm not fully read on p!Will's story & character- the way I've come to view him is a relatively forgiving and optimistic type of person. So him as Polities came natually.

I also have a frequent habit of doing a thing where when I associate one character to one song/character of a musical, I start to try and figure if there's way to fit in other characters.

I believe what came next was Sausage and if I recall correctly, that was due to 1. Me just liking Sausage all together and 2. Me seeing him as the most "Captian-Like" guy in pirates. Also revolving around headcanons, others' interpretations, and maybe an artist or two's ways of drawing him. After that, Joel & Hermes as Penelope and Telemachus came pretty easy. I've also played around with previous ideas of "What if Joel was in Pirates SMP" and added in my constant Empires Brainrot ™️, that all just fell into place.

I believe Lizzie was my first established God cos. Giant fish/ocean associated person, yk. And then Jimmy as Polyphemus due to fishy relations and then I think Fwhip was actually my next one due to the "silly & unhinged" vibes I got from Epic Hermes. Then with a lot more stubborn brain storming, more and more gods fell into place as I started following an Empires Season 1 pattern with the Gods

Krow was also a fun one to workshop in cos I also don't know much about his Canon character but what I do know & just the fascination I've gotten with him, I thought he fit the role of Eurylochus pretty well. Mostly on the side of more of a survivor when it comes down to a "You vs Me" mentality & leaning more on aggressive tactics when it comes to handling certain situations. He is one of the ones I'm certain doesn't fall into complete Canon-type of personality, but I like how my au's Krow is a lot.

Now. The fun situation with the suitors and Ithica in general.

I can explain a bit further if anyone's interested, but the way my storyline worked out is that there's actually no Herons that are part of Sausage's crew in the story. They're either still on the Faction Isles or traveling elsewhere. Having said that, when I came around to figuring out Antinous, it was right when I was finding out very bare-bones about him. And given that the Heron characters will ideally be characters shown on "Ithica" I was working to see if anyone would fit that roll.

Having said that, Antinous was noted down in my "Working-Out" list with the note of "Mr. Steal your wife and kill your son" and while discussing my character plans with my partner, we started to joke about Antinous being Owen. Given her more player-esque personality, at the time I figured it'd be a decent fit- or at least a place holder- for a character who I started to think was just someone wanting to court "Penelope".

However, thinking more on it & finding out better how Antinous plays in this story, I started getting more invested in the idea of Owen still being him. The idea of Owen becoming a villain, manipulative with his charm and almost vindictive in her motives just started to appeal more and more to me.

When this takes place, it's 20 years since the rough-end of Pirates SMP, following Epic the Musical's timeline. A lot can change in a person in 20 years. Seeing the Factions fall, loves in your life die or disappear, people coming into power that you feel either don't deserve it or are strangers who don't understand all that's happened here or you feel are too weak irresponsible to handle it. It can grate on a person, certainly.

P!Owen is, once again, another character I'm unfortunately not fully familiar with, though that may change if i have a chance to watch his pov in the future. And who knows, maybe I'll workshop the story, change e!Owen's personality or motives, maybe even choose someone else entirely to fit the role.

But as it stands, the idea of e!Owen, 20 years in the future with heavens knows how much baggage and pent up anger and frustrations left on his shoulders starting to get desperate or almost hungry even for some sort of control or power or just even a sense of stability in her life just seems to be a very interesting & fun-to-work-with storyline to me.

Thinking about seeing Owen getting aggressive and animalistic and breaking that carefully-crafted facade of charm and control when it comes to fighting and trying to kill someone just. It's so interesting and fascinating in my mind, you've no idea.

And, again, I'm awfully weak to villain Owen nonesense so that certainly doesn't help.

There you have it. My essay & a half summary over some of my reasonings.

Again, things are always subject to change and sometimes I get a little Silly with my trains of thoughts but, hey, it'll be fun either way. continuing from mandible headcanon I imagine that the type of mandible depends on the faction the demon was assigned. Also the color is the same as the horns :D

I think that demons from thieves den have the longest mandibles with hooks on the end to latch onto stuff. thieves den mandibles could also probably work as feelers too :P

blackrock would have the shortest mandibles but they’d probably have multiple (like 4-6). most likely would work as blunt weapons rather than a knife or smth

playground would have the most jagged mandibles and also the most flexible (they probably cut themselves a lot on them)

finally, lost temple would have the thinnest mandibles (used for piercing and stuff). they wouldn’t be that flexible tho :P
