also while we're on the subject of wicked. i don't like wicked but it's not for any of the obvious reasons. instead it's for the reasons of the og oz books story of the tin man is absolutely bonkers bananas and i'm obsessed with it and the writers (of both the book and the musical) ignore it completely. he was a man named nick chopper he was in love with a witch's apprentice she cursed his axe etc etc etc the fun part is after all that. anyway in the tin woodsman of oz what happens is they discover that the witch who cursed the tin man's axe also cursed another guy who was in love with her apprentice who became the tin soldier. so then the tin woodsman and the tin soldier go and find the girl they were both in love with to be like. which one of us are you 🧐 really 🧐 in love with. and she has instead made a new man out of their body parts glued together with meat glue and that's the guy she's in love with now. and they both say okay! 👍🏻 and go on their way. and i just want to know. where is the ✨ whimsy ✨ gregory maguire. where's the ✨ whimsy ✨ of the meat glue, stephen schwartz.
