She wasn't planning to chase after a man, and she didn't mean to bump into him either, he caught her with ease and her cheeks flushed the moment those arms captivated her. She swallowed, looking through her long eyelashes for a moment before finding her at a loss. "Oz." She said as a way of greeting him, cursing herself for being so weak when she was near him, she was a cop damn it.

Maybe she should just go home and marry that stranger after all. She wasn't sure where she stood with him, but she had been waiting for a while. Maybe her frustration was showing with her hands balled into fists and her eyebrows being furrowed.

Come on and capture me, darn it.

Guinevere smiled, glad to know she was not alone in her conclusion. She did not know Oz very well, but she believed there was some level of understanding between them, a certain similarity in the way they thought. Then again, she might just be projecting.

She reached for the packet. Immediately she frowned when he tried to make it into a game. "Conditions, there's always some condition," she huffed quietly. "Alright, let's see... There is never much of note in this town, but..." Guinevere knew better than to tell Oz too much about what she was up to. "It is confirmed that the old bakery in Main Street will close. I suppose everyone's going to that other one, the, uh... Hell, I can't quite remember its name." She felt this was probably not interesting enough for him, and her sweet tooth was aching already. "The Bạch charity will open a new children's book section at the Redwood Library next week. And our cherry trees at the Red Orchard are giving an unexpectedly high yield, fortunately, if you care to know how business is going."

Hopefully that was enough for Oz. Guinevere looked down at her nails for a moment. "Something actually interesting would be if there were any updates on the case of those missing relics, or about the disappearances, the comas and the illnesses. Apart from that breakthrough on the poison in Mr Hera's blood, that is... No such luck."

She stretched her hand towards him, palm open wide. "What about you? Any interesting news you got wind of?"

It was a familiar voice; Although such an observation was not particularly surprising for a man as social and seemingly all knowing as Oz.

He had been having a quiet morning until he had been interrupted. Which was fine by him, quiet mornings were boring.

"Forgot yours too?" Oz said. "Had to ask for these myself. I give this place a month."

He went to hand her one of the packets casually, before stopping just short of her hand.

"I'll give it to you under one condition, you tell me something interesting."

SALLY FINKELSTEIN is thirty-four years old. She is an employee at Jack’s Attic and a volunteer with the Community Events Committee. She is the incarnation of Sally from the Disney film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

ABOUT SALLY

Sally Finkelstein is the only daughter of local science teacher William Finkelstein, and a neat and hard-working sets and costume designer. Reclusive and self-conscious, Sally grew up quite isolated from her peers, living in an oppressive household with her widowed father. Her whole childhood was marked by him keeping her under a tight watch, often demanding she stay home to cook or clean, rather than hanging around with the other kids. Sally has a difficult relationship with her father, in which he constantly demands her to dedicate all her time to him, while also, with him being in a wheelchair since a car accident shortly after her birth, she sees this behaviour as him lashing out his frustrations. She tries her best to be as understanding and kind to him as possible, while also acknowledging she needs to work on setting boundaries and on being independent. Despite everything, if someone asked her on the spot, she would admit she still loves her father. As a teenager, however, as her own little way of rebelling, she would sneak out of the house to get some time away from her father, and –while she never truly came out of her shell entirely –this helped her meet with others around the town, and gain a reputation of being accommodating and kind. Her favorite spot to frequent during these escapades was the Holiday Town hall of events, where local artists would perform music, dance and theater. It was there where she met Zero Casper, whom she befriended scarily quickly, and Jack King, the latter of whom has Sally starstruck. Her reputation and polite demeanour won Jack over and, after checking out her sketches, hired her on the spot as designer at Holiday Town and, as time went on, a volunteer in the Community Events Committee. Despite her quiet, introverted personality, Sally is an extremely creative artist and designer, excelling at her job, quick with a pencil and a team player. A childhood without friends, alone to her own devices, led her to dedicate whatever free time she had to drawing characters of made-up worlds, sewing her own dolls, clothes and costumes, and playing around with hairstyles and makeup, even with nowhere to go. She’s great with kids, and plans to get a side job as an art teacher. For the time being though, Sally’s quite glad to be able to do what she loves most –even if life has become rather dull and repetitive, even if she believes she’ll never have the courage to confess her feelings to Jack.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION*

Sally suspects her mother is not truly dead, as her father has claimed for years. Her memories of her mother are fuzzy at best and contradictory at worse –almost like if her father has been telling her different stories about her mother over the years. Daring to venture beyond her comfort zone in her search for answers helps her slowly become more self-assured and questioning of the world around her.

Sally loves music and singing, but is too shy to do so in public or in front of others. One of the few compliments her father ever gives her is for her singing prowess. One of the reasons she herself has become smitten with Jack is because of his lovely voice and ability for performance and grand theatrics –which she feels she could never match. She believes she is good enough at designing, assembling and sewing the sets and costumes for the Community Events Committee, working behind the scenes.

CONNECTIONS

Jack King - Sally’s dear friend, and crush. He convinced her to join the Community Events Committee, where she helps with designs. Oz Borror - Sally doesn’t trust Oz, but she cannot explain why. He is the one man in town that she has the courage to stand up to, mostly because he gives her the creeps. Zach “Zero” Casper - A fellow employee at Holiday Town, and a good friend.

TL;DR BIO

Broden was born a miracle baby, premature and stillborn but revived by doctors. After spending his first months in the NICU, he was put straight in the foster care system.

Eventually he would meet Logan “Lock” and Saaiqa “Shock” and they became the “Unholy Trinity” causing chaos wherever they went. They refused to be separated and thus were shipped through a lot of different homes.

Eventually the three were “adopted” by Oz Borror, though were raised to be little more than henchmen and criminals. Still, Barrel cares for his Dad just as deeply as his siblings, always doing whatever they ask.

He is a follower at heart, having internalized years of his siblings, his foster parents, and the school system calling him stupid. He’s always had a hard time paying attention and taking social cues.

Still, when it comes to his special interests, he spends a ton of time researching and learning. He is deeply fascinated by medical history, records, biology, and anatomy. He is very good at first aid and taking care of others physically, having spent years helping Lock with his ailments.

Currently, he’s meandering through life, not sure what to do with himself but also not caring.

PERSONALITY

Enthusiastic, eager, and ever-detached, Barrel is both excited about the life he lives while also being completely apathetic to it. He’s carefree and goes through his days doing whatever he’s told, but he always brings a positive spin to it.

When left to his own devices, he will either engage in one of his many hobbies (consuming media, documentaries, reading, games, sketching, skateboarding), prank someone, or just go around town generally bothering people about whatever special interest he’s latched onto that day.

While people do not like to get pranked, he believes it to be all in good fun and is never malicious in his intent. That doesn’t always mean the execution comes off that way, and he’s been known to ruin people’s days with a smile on his face.

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

Friends: Barrel doesn’t get to make a lot of connections outside of his family, but he wants to. It would be nice if one of the people who he is constantly barraging with questions wanted to form a deeper bond.

Enemies: He (and/or his siblings) did a prank on you that was just too much. Barrel is completely oblivious to your scorn and continues to act really friendly towards you.

Locals: Barrel grew up here so he’d most likely know anyone else who did, especially people around his age who he may have gone to school with.

Prank wars: Whether it’s one sided or mutual, Barrel loves pranking and being pranked.

Lost Boys/Rival gangs: The Lost Boys are the other group of troublemakers in the town, and they have been at war with the Unholy Trinity for ages. However, there might be other troublemakers out there who also have a rivalry.

Bother bother bother: In general, Barrel loves pestering people about whatever is on his mind.

WANTED PLOTS:

An “In” to the Borror Empire: If ever you were looking to find a weak link in the Snake Eyes Casino empire, it is Barrel. Pretending to be his friend to get an “in” for whatever nefarious purposes you have would be fun.

Patch You Up: Barrel always keeps a first aid kit on him, so he may be around to patch your character up after an accident/fight/etc. Especially if you don’t want to get proper medical attention.

Love is in the (Thick) Air: Your character starts to crush on Barrel, but he absolutely does not notice. He is extremely dense and will not understand until it’s spelled out for him. Whether it’s unrequited or mutual can be plotted.

A Job??: Both of his siblings have jobs to earn money for themselves, but Barrel never saw the point. For one reason or another, however, he needs extra money and ends up working for you. Chaos ensues.

TL;DR BIO:

Reagan was born, along with their twin, to loving parents, who died at age 1 in a car crash. While her grandmother attempted to take care of them, eventually they were separated and put in the foster system.

Reagan was known as Jacob Rackett for many years and was a menace of a child, causing trouble and starting fights wherever she went.

Eventually she was placed in a group home with a pack of children that would become known as The Lost Boys.

One of those kids she got on with better than the rest--Rowan Rackett, who would become her “twin”, as was their nicknames. What neither know is that they are biological twins separated at birth.

While she started experiencing feelings of womanhood early on, Reagan was very afraid of them and buried herself in the closet. She leaned into toxic masculinity throughout her adolescence--getting into physical altercations, hooking up with and then dumping girls, and being mean as a form of affection.

It’s only when The Lost Boys started to “grow up” and grow apart did those habits start to break. When Rowan came out as non-binary, Reagan was finally able to accept herself and come out as a transgender woman.

While The Lost Boys know her true identity, she has otherwise invented herself as an entirely new person. If anyone asks, Jacob Rackett died two years ago.

Rowan went to college but Reagan has no interest in academics. She was couch surfing between all the Lost Boys after aging out of the foster system, and did whatever part time jobs would hire her to hold her over financially.

In an attempt to get money, she went to the Snake Eyes Casino and made a huge bet, which she lost. Now to work off her debt, she works for Oz Borror, doing whatever he asks. She stays in the hotel connected to the casino.

PERSONALITY:

Boisterous, bubbly, and bitchy, Reagan is here for a good time, not a long time. She has various vices such as alcohol, gambling, and kleptomania, all of which have been known to get her into trouble. Still, she has no intentions of stopping now.

While she swears she’s like, really into guys, Reagan spends almost all her time trying to get the attention of cute girls. She attempts to hook up under the guise of “practicing for the right guy”.

While she and Rowan are as different as can be, she still views herself as Rowan’s protector and will beat the shit out of you if you mess with them.

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

Cute girls: Listen, Reagan is literally always looking for cute girls to talk to and flirt with, it’s her main mode.

Party people: Although she doesn’t go to college, Reagan is crashing college parties all the time. She also spends a lot of time at bars, clubs, and other less-than-reputable events.

Corruption: Reagan is here to corrupt the precious cinnamon rolls of the world, more than happy to lead people down the path that rocks.

Rowan mutuals: If you know or talk to Rowan, you will most likely run into Reagan at some point or another.

Gamblers: Reagan is currently working for Oz, and spends a fair amount of time at the Snake Eyes Casino.

Troublemakers: Present and past, if you’re causing trouble, Reagan will be there. Maybe you are trying to reform your ways, and Reagan is tempting you back to the dark side.

Ex-hookups: Back during her time as Jacob, she was constantly hooking up with, dating, and then dumping girls. She was a real heartbreaker, and maybe it’s time for her past to bite her.

Thievery: Reagan has stolen from your business and you catch her, either in the act or after the fact.

WANTED PLOTS:

Slowburn Gal Pals: Reagan worms her way into your girl’s life, whether it be through partying, flirting, or whatever else. She and your character are hooking up, and maybe you even buy into her “practicing for a man” bullshit. But as time goes on, feelings start to change, and the ensuing angst and drama is all encompassing.

Bring Her On the Right Path: Your character finds Reagan and finds a wayward soul in need of guidance. Maybe you see her in yourself, or maybe you just love a project. Either way, you want to bring her on the right path--whether that’s reforming her ways, or leaning into it harder than ever.

Breaking Up the Twins: Whether your interest is in Reagan or Rowan, you’re getting a little too close with one of them, and the other is starting to feel their twin slipping away.

Oz looked over the establishment. It was nice, real nice. Truth be told, Oz Borror found himself impressed. Oz took a look over everything, noting the furniture dressing, theming, and ambience. Ray sure did have an eye for interior decorating, that was for sure.

"Well hey there," Oz said, "I sure am. Looks like ya did it kid."

When the doors to Evangeline's opened that evening, Ray wept tears of joy. It had happened. Raymond Bug had created something meaningful to himself. Something that he believed would outlive him. Something he could pass onto his future family. He hhad created a way to support himself and Jane. This was his.

Mingling through the crowd now, Ray's smile was beaming so bright it could probably be seen from space. Turning at a tap to his shoulder, he smiled at the person infront of him. "Thank you! Welcome to Evangeline's! Are you enjoying yourself?"

Okay so here’s the thing... Lucius wasn’t always some straight laced professor who loved captaining a bowling team. There was a time when he tore up the road on his Harley, got into bar brawls and lived a worn out leather jacket. It was a whole thing, don’t ask. Trouble wasn’t something he shied away from and that might have included a little card counting at Oz Borror’s casino way back in the day. Their paths had never really crossed long enough for any recognition to pass and Lucius had been 21 at the time so y’know. Not as handsome as he was now. Was he nervous about this whole hang? Maybe. But he was tryna look on the bright side and play it really cool.

“Oz Borror--- Mr Luck himself, huh?” Lucius said as way of greeting, holding up his clue card with Oz’s facts on it. “You ready to go frolic with some flamingos?” @ozborror-highroller​

“Oh, I haven’t tried any of them yet... And I don’t think I should, truly,” Sofia admitted, barely glancing back at the man who had asked her the question. “After all those poisoning incidents...”

Her voice trailed off in the middle of her explanation. She knew it was quite rude to do that, to not finish her thoughts, but her attention had been swiftly snatched away to the silver trays covered with rows of neatly set, delicious-looking hors d’oeuvres. There were the obligatory deviled eggs with paprika, and also trout croquettes, crispy fried prosciutto tortellinis, Tuscan truffles, salmon mousse cups, tiny meatballs in plum sauce, and of course, a whole batallion of crostinis: almond and feta, pomegranate and pistachio, cherry and brie, grilled nectarine and goat cheese... Sofia recognized almost all of them from the parties her father used to host in the orchard house, before he had remarried. Back then, when she had been expected to sit pretty in the corner in a new dress, only talking to greet important businessmen, entertaining others with one song before coffee and then being sent away to bed for the night...

“I-I mean, if I had to choose, I’d probably go with the deviled eggs first,” she replied, blinking back into the present, trying to focus her eyes back on the man who was still waiting for her answer. “But I bet these clams with bacon and bellpepper are fantastic, too.”

Oz was not even going to bother pretending he was above the opulent New Year’s Bash. No, Oz was delighted to be at such a lively event. Good food, good music, and open bar, and of course his favorite part of any gathering: loose lips. If Oz wanted to “accidentally” hear someone’s secrets, then he might as well put himself in the middle of endless conversations with people who had drank just a little too much wine, or were a little too open with their thoughts as they were filled with excitement for the new year. 

Besides, an absolutely nasty, foul cold had kept him home from his favorite Halloween events, and given the drama that had gone down there while he was gone, Oz was not going to miss yet another event. 

Oz took a sip of the drink in his hand. He pointed at several trays worth of appetizers, and spoke out loud to whoever was nearby.

“Are any of these any good? What’s been your favorite?” @happieststarters​

finishing work had eilonwy returning to a place that she was all too familar with. snake eyes casino. not for the obvious reasons one would think. she was no gambling woman in monetary terms, perhaps with other aspects of her life, but never with money. she was on her way to see a lifelong constant presence that answered to the name of oz borror. unusual circumstances brought them together and a complicated timeline followed.

she entered the establishment, saying her hellos to the staff members she passed and made her way to her usual seat at the bar where a drink and oz would be waiting for her.

“hey...” she said with an apologetic look on her face before giving the man a quick side hug “sorry i’m late. i got caught up in a meeting at the hospital.”
