Shortly following reports of an apparent second assassination attempt against former US president and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Elon Musk decided to speak up.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala 🤔,” Musk, X’s owner, wrote in a now deleted post, in response to another person asking, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”
After deleting the post—which could be interpreted as a call to murder President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic opponent in the US presidential election—Musk indicated that it was merely a joke that fell flat given the context. “Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on 𝕏,” he wrote, adding, “Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context and the delivery is plain text.”
The incident was the latest in a long line of increasingly incendiary political posts from Musk, whose substantial defense contracts with the US government may give him access to highly sensitive information even while he makes potential threats against the sitting commander in chief. And they point to the more pressing risk that Musk’s recent rhetoric has posed: the potential to inspire further political violence.
While Sunday night’s post is gone, it appears likely that Musk could receive some attention from federal law enforcement, if he hasn’t already.
The United States Secret Service declined WIRED’s request to comment on Musk’s post. “We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees,” USSS spokesperson Nate Herring tells WIRED.
“In my experience, the Secret Service would take such a comment very seriously,” says Michael German, a former FBI special agent and a liberty and national security fellow at NYU School of Law’s Brennan Center for Justice. “Typically, agents would go out and interview the subject to ensure that there wasn't an existing threat, and to make the subject aware that the agency takes such statements seriously.”
German notes that it’s possible the FBI could also launch an investigation. However, it’s unlikely that Musk would face any charges for his post. “On its face, the tweet would not meet the ‘true threat’ test, in that it wasn't a direct threat to do harm to the vice president, so it wouldn't likely proceed to prosecution,” German says. Still, “it would create a record of the investigations.”
The FBI declined WIRED’s request to comment on Musk’s post. X did not immediately respond to WIRED’s request for comment.
Both Biden and Harris have released statements condemning the apparent attempt on Trump’s life and political violence more broadly. In a statement to ABC News, the White House condemned Musk’s post. "Violence should only be condemned, never encouraged or joked about,” the statement says. “This rhetoric is irresponsible."
Where things get dicier for Musk is his role as a major contractor for the US Department of Defense and NASA. According to Reuters, SpaceX signed a $1.8 billion contract in 2021 with the National Reconnaissance Office, which oversees US spy satellites. The US Space Force also signed a $70 million contract late last year with SpaceX to build out military-grade low-earth-orbit satellite capabilities. Starlink, SpaceX’s commercial satellite internet wing, is providing connectivity to the US Navy.
NASA, meanwhile, has increasingly outsourced its spaceflight projects to SpaceX, including billions of dollars in contracts for multiple trips to the moon and an $843 million contract to build the vehicle that will take the International Space Station out of commission.
The US government’s heavy reliance on companies controlled by Musk has repeatedly raised the hackles of national security experts. Concerns at the Pentagon came into stark relief last September after Musk denied Ukraine’s request to enable Starlink in Crimea, a disputed territory bordering Russia, so it could launch an attack on Russian troops. (Starlink was not under a military contract when he denied the request.) In response to previous WIRED reporting, Musk asserted that “Starlink was barred from turning on satellite beams in Crimea at the time, because doing so would violate US sanctions against Russia!”
Neither the Defense Department nor NASA have responded to WIRED’s request for comment.
Even Musk’s October 2022 acquisition of Twitter (now X) had some experts worried about the national security risks it could pose to the US, given his business relationship and communications with the Chinese government, his alleged outreach to Russian president Vladimir Putin (which Musk has denied), and Saudi Arabia’s continued investment in Twitter following Musk’s buyout. Others raised concerns that China may have leverage over Musk, due to his relationships with Beijing related to Tesla, his electric car company that has a factory in Shanghai. And all that was before Musk—a citizen of South Africa, Canada, and the US—reactivated the accounts of conspiracy theorists and white nationalists, and began heavily pushing his own right-wing political narrative. Immediately following the first attempted assassination of Trump in mid-July, Musk endorsed Trump and reportedly pledged $45 million per month to support a pro-Trump PAC, a funding vow he said he did not make.
Musk’s deleted Sunday night post further complicates matters. The CEO reportedly has security clearance given his companies’ work on classified US government projects. While there are many rules around who gets security clearance, such as abstaining from cannabis use, the designation is awarded and maintained on a risk-vs-reward basis for the US government. Given that Musk is perhaps the world’s richest man and most famous chief executive, it may be tricky to pull his security clearance regardless of his flippant discussions of political assassinations.
“This is where Musk's status might have a greater effect,” says the Brennan Center’s German. “It would be hard for managers to revoke the security clearance of someone in a position of power, whereas they could be expected to take quick action against a regular employee who engaged in similar conduct.”
The most concerning aspect of Musk’s post is its potential to further inflame extremist threats in the US, says Jon Lewis, a research fellow at George Washington University’s Program on Extremism, who calls the post “merely the latest example of right-wing incitement that has become concerningly mainstream in recent years.”
“That the owner of a major social media platform—and US government contractor—is opining on the assassination of political opponents should be alarming for Americans across the political spectrum,” Lewis says. He warns that “culture war narratives and thinly veiled racism” have already had effects on the real world, which could be exacerbated by the far-right’s willingness to answer calls to arms.
“These extremists are waiting for the justification to engage in violence,” he says, “and rhetoric like this provides the perfect excuse.”

oneshot about dazai osamu x fem.reader. Inspired by Somethin' Stupid by Frank Sinatra
hope you enjoy this though! This story is about Ada Dazai and Port Mafia fem.reader!
I saw this trend many times on Tik Tok and I thought it was very cute! So here I am to write this, I hope you like it.
Tumblr media
You were young, a young woman whose name was (First name) (Last name), a full-fledged assassin, who didn't mind killing in cold blood, but you were just doing your job, serving Mori. Be loyal like a dog. But maybe your loyalty was too devoted and at the same time that was toxic to your mental health. You were literally surrendering yourself and the will. Your will had almost disappeared, you lived only to serve Mori and do everything he ordered.
On the other side was Dazai, former member of the Port Mafia and current member of the Armed Detective Agency. A young man who knows how to choose his words so that young women fall in love with him.
Two people from different sides, enemy sides. How are you going to get together with him? Isn't he afraid that you'll go and stab him with a knife?
Here's a problem, Mori sent you to help Dazai, and of course you didn't want to, you hated that idea, and although you wanted to oppose helping him, Mori convinced you and forced you to go and give him a hand. According to him, Osamu wanted to see you because he needed your help on some kind of mission sent by the head of the Agency.
Now you found yourself walking calmly through the streets, trying to forget that in a short time you would find yourself at a meeting point, that place was the park.
When you step onto the sidewalk of that park, you breathe in the fresh air of the trees around you. You sigh and enjoy the small dogs accompanied by their owners walking, but your happiness and peace does not last long, because a familiar voice brings you out of your thoughts.
"But it is (First name)! It's good that you decided to come... I thought you had already abandoned me!" He exclaims dramatically, leaning on your shoulder and lightly rubbing his head against yours deliberately to annoy you in the morning.
You elbow him in the stomach and push him away with a frown. "I was thinking about doing it, I don't think this mission is that important."
He puts his hand on his heart and looks away, closing his eyes exaggeratedly as he gasps. "How could you do that? You are very evil..."
"Very good, very good, it can be seen on my face that I don't care. Now don't waste time and let's do that mission so I can get away from you as soon as possible."
"Such rudeness..." He mutters.
[TIMESKIP]
The young man yawns and stretches his arms, smiling slightly at the end. "It's good we're done... That was exhausting, I couldn't imagine being in that place any longer."
You found yourself and Dazai walking out of a large abandoned building on the outskirts. Supposedly it was to investigate what could have happened inside, and a pen drive and some dusty papers were found. At least there was some evidence that the agency would open. "You're just lazy, Dazai."
"What can I say... Being so handsome is exhausting," He looks at you boldly out of the corner of his eye.
"Show off," You roll your eyes.
"I bet you are only jealous that I'm more beautiful than you!" He teases, with a gleam of malice displayed on his eyes.
"Oh please! Keep dreaming."
You two are enveloped in a silence accompanied by your steps and small insects in the distance. At this moment you were returning to your respective organization, but the path was becoming too long, you sighed tiredly.
"Oh! I see that you get tired very quickly, don't you? How weak you are," He grins.
"Please shut up once and for all, even if it's just for a few minutes..." You groan. A mild headache forms soon.
Surprisingly, the young man is now silent, without complaining. That was strange, not something he would do, and you suspected something.
"You know (Name)..." He pauses briefly. "Sometimes I think I have grown fond of you, and then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I love you..."
A small breeze collides with you, the mere confession makes you stop in place and stare at him, your eyes soften and a small laugh appears in your voice, you watch him serene smile, and you know his feelings were genuine, but how could you fall in love with the opposing side? How ridiculous!
"Don't be stupid, you know well that we don't love each other, stop talking nonsense," you resume your walk next to Dazai, and continue thinking about his words in your mind.
“You know… whatever,” You take a soft breathe. "I love you too..." You muttered with a dulcet tone, taking his hands and enclapsing them together.
Maybe it wasn't so ridiculous. At the end of the day it was love, a love that you denied, but that you got here...
Something stupid like I love you. What a funny way to confess, you thought.
Tumblr media
I LOVE SO MUCH THIS TREND. I really hope more people do it, especially with Chuuya and Dazai! It's so cute, my heart melts...

WASHINGTON — The Secret Service said Monday that it “disposed of” cocaine found last year at the White House — responding to a report on alleged in-fighting on its fate following a partial DNA match.
“The evidence from that investigation was disposed of in accordance with retention policies,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in an email.
Guglielmi did not state the specific retention policy, but broadly dismissed as “false” allegations outlined by a trio of sources to RealClearPolitics, which reported that President Biden’s then-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle wanted to destroy the cocaine but faced internal opposition.
Cheatle was “really pissed off” when her request was rebuffed by subordinates who cited protocols requiring the evidence to be retained for seven years, the publication reported.
Two sources told the outlet that Cheatle or someone speaking at her direction called the agency’s forensics division vault supervisor Matt White and asked him to dispose of the evidence because leadership wanted to close the case.
Three sources connected to the Secret Service told RealClearPolitics that DNA had been recovered from the half-used dime bag, allowing for a “partial hit” in a national database after the drug was found on July 2, 2023 — two days after a gathering of the Biden family.
The Secret Service closed its investigation just 11 days after the cocaine was found — without interviewing any potential suspects — giving the impression that the agency wasn’t interested in learning the facts behind the embarrassing incident.
It’s unclear when exactly the agency destroyed the small bag of cocaine — the loss of which likely set its owner back less than $100 — or if there was any attempt to follow up on the alleged DNA partial match.
Cheatle’s alleged interest in getting rid of the evidence was notable in part because she landed her post after a push by first lady Jill Biden and her top aide Anthony Bernal, who serves as an important liaison between the extended Biden family and officials.
White’s superior, Secret Service forensics division chief Glenn Dennis, reportedly consulted with the agency’s Uniformed Division’s acting chief Richard Macauley and decided to oppose destroying the cocaine.
“[The] protocol is, whether you act on the [DNA] hit or not, we still have to maintain evidence for a period of up to seven years,” one source told RealClearPolitics. “It became a big to-do.”
“A decision was made not to get rid of the evidence, and it really pissed off Cheatle,” a source told the outlet.
Cheatle resigned on July 23 in the aftermath of security failures leading to the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.
Guglielmi did not specifically respond to the report’s assertion that there was a partial DNA hit and that Macauley may have been retaliated against when passed over for a promotion following his alleged resistance to destroying the cocaine.
“The congressional oversight committees need to put White under oath and confirm the ‘partial hit,’” one source told RealClearPolitics.
The drug was found in the downstairs of the West Wing near the Situation Room — in a locker used for cellphones and other personal items.
The discovery sparked intense speculation that a member of the Biden family might be involved, though the White House denounced such speculation as “irresponsible.”
President Biden’s adult children Hunter Biden, 54, and Ashley Biden, 43, have both abused cocaine in the past, and the 81-year-old president’s political foes joked that the eldest Biden, a lifelong teetotaler, may have even used it himself ahead of particularly energetic and lucid public remarks.
In a striking contrast with the cocaine case, the Biden White House in 2021 took a much harsher approach with staffers who admitted to using marijuana in the past — firing at least five aides as potential security threats, despite that drug’s legal status in many states and lower risk of addiction.
Abusing illegal drugs and engaging in other vices such as gambling and overspending have caused White House staffers to be denied security clearances and lose their jobs.

Chapter Three
Roses
Prologue and oc intro
Chapter one
Chapter two
Tumblr media
After breakfast and drinks with Gaston you made your way back to the flower shop with haste in your step and you felt your shoulder collide with that of a man, he was in his late thirties, early forties, dressed like that of a doctor. You spun around to face him with a worried expression. “I didn’t hurt you, did I sir?”
He gripped his shoulder for a moment, in shock and nothing more. He turned with a smile, shaken up if anything and he shook his head no to your question. “I’m alright miss, no need to worry about me.”
You took note of the shaken up expression he wore on his face. Tilting your head you asked. “Are you alright sir, you seem shaken up?”
He shook his head with a grim expression and a heavy sigh. “I’m afraid I’m not, my daughter Elise disappeared and now I can’t find her.” He took out a photo from his coat pocket and handed it you you. It was a young blond girl in a lovely little red dress, she looked about eight maybe nine by a glimpse of it. “She’s my little angel and I have no idea what to do with myself if I lost her.”
You paused for a second and thought on it, you had work, but you do work at a flower shop so it wasn’t unusual for a little girl to end up there, mesmerized by the flowers that grew there. “Say, I work at a flower shop, I could keep a look out for you. Sometimes kids run off from their parents to places like my work, I could watch her if she shows up there.”
“Oh thank you, miss. You don’t know how much this means to me.” He said, a smile coming across his face along with a look of slight relief. When you go to give the photo back he shakes his head and pushes it back to you. “Hold onto it, just in case you need it.”
You smiled and nodded before running off back to the shop for your shift… but you can’t feel his eyes stuck on the back of your head.
—————————
You returned to work like nothing had happened, dawning your apron you got to work, weeding the flower beds, watering the flowers, looking after seedlings, poking your broom at any birds who got near, and so on. Ms. Haruka took the day off for a doctor’s appointment so it was just you running the shop today. Throughout the day no little blond girl came, no kids at all really, due to school that is, mostly old women and their husbands who they drag along, couples from the old days. You swept the porch, keeping it clean for customers when out  of the corner of your eye you saw the doctor from before across the road, with a little blond girl. You smiled and you watched them but they never saw you… and they turned into an ally…
What? That’s strange…
It was a slow day and your curiosity got the better of you. You set your broom against the wall and followed behind from a distance, hiding behind trash cans and what not when they turned around to see if anyone was fallowing and they never saw you. Then they reached the end of the ally, a dead end from what you knew,p. You tucked yourself behind a trash can and took a peak out and what you saw almost made you scream.
A dead body, shot down.
You saw a few other people there, definitely people you wouldn’t associate with, people you have been told to stay away from, you recognized only a few from what word on the street was. You have seen them picking up money from a few business owners on the street so it didn’t take long for you to piece together who they were…
The Port Mafia.
You watched as soon as the people saw the doctor they kneeled before him, myou knew right then something was horribly wrong. You tucked your head back behind the trash can so you couldn’t see what going on anymore, but they couldn’t see you anymore either, but you listened.
“Is this an assassin from The Guild?” It was the doctor’s voice, but there was something much darker about it…
“Yes sir.”
You heard a sigh from the doctor. “First the detective agency, and now The Guild. We’re stuck in another difficult situation. I’d better look for the most suitable solution. Be it The Guild or the detective agency, enemies have to be thoroughly beaten and killed.”
Something about that made you realize something, he wasn’t a doctor, he was the leader of the Port Mafia. At this realization you let you a small squeak and that did not go unnoticed. There was a dead silence after before you heard the doctor’s voice again. “Chuuya.”
“Yes sir.”
You could hear footsteps approaching where you hid, no rush in the steps as they approached you. Suddenly you feel yourself being pulled to your feet by a hand yanking you up by the arm. It was a younger man, red hair, dressed in a suit, and a fedora set atop his head. His other hand slammed over your mouth to keep you from screaming as he pulled you over to the doctor. Once you were only about a yard from the man the doctor waved his head and “Chuuya” let you go. You were shaking like a leaf and scared for your life. The doctor grinned at you and shook his head. “What am I to do with you?”
He looked up up and down, an expression on his face that you couldn’t quite place but terrified you none the less. His grin changed into a smirk that made you think you’re about to die and he spoke. “You were willing to help me find Elise earlier, I suppose I should repay kindness with kindness. You can go…”
Your heart skipped a beat when you heard that but of course that made everyone think what he was up to.
“…but if you tell anyone what you saw here I’ll make sure you never see the light of day again. Am I clear?”
His voice was that if he was speaking to a child but you were clearly a grown adult. You could only nod to his question because you had lost your voice in fear. He smiled at you and turned to the red head named Chuuya again. “Please escort Miss (Name) back to her shop, she has flowers to tend to.” Then he turned to you once more. “Remember not a word, we’ll know.”
You nodded once more as Chuuya grabbed you by the arm again and dragged you out of the ally and back into a busy street. He walked you back to the shop, keeping an eye on you till you got behind the counter again and still sticking around awhile after. You watched as he looked through the plants you grew, both on the porch and inside, it looked like he was just an ordinary customer. You started to daze off after awhile, resting your head on your arms as your eyes shut for a brief moment and then a slam of a hand on the counter woke you up. You quickly readjusted yourself and saw Chuuya standing there, one of the bouquets of flowers in hand, roses. “Just theses.”
“Um… A-alright just let me ring you up.” You said before punching a few numbers on the cash register. “That will be fourteen dollars and twenty seven cents.”
As soon as you finished he took out a black credit card from his pocket and handed it to you, you quickly swiped it and handed it back to him along with his receipt. “Have a good day, sir.”
“Ya, whatever.” He responded tucking that card away in his back pocket again. He looked at you for a long moment that slightly unsettled you and before you could ask he spoke up. “Your arm it still red from where I grabbed you, it’s gonna bruise.”
“Oh… um thank you?” That sounded more like a question than an answer and you weren’t even sure how to respond to something like that.
“It looks to tough for you, I would cover it up, you look to delicate for being roughed up.”
You stopped as he spoke, something didn’t sound right. He didn’t know you, he was the one who put it there, he had no ground to stand on… but then again he was a member of the Port Mafia…
“I have to get back to work please excuse me.” You stood up from your spot at the counter and made your way to the back room of the shop, pretending to work when in reality you were crying. You were terrified after today, why did you have to be born into this cruel world where if you disappeared no one would care, where strangers you don’t know can make comments on your body and expect you to obey, where you don’t have a voice and are seen as some little delicate thing, where threats will be tossed at you and you just have to obey them. Why? Why? Why?
You sat in the back for a long while before getting up. You decided to close shop early after today’s event, you were to shaken up. You made your way back to your apartment, but when you go to unlock the door it was already cracked open. You stepped inside cautiously, a hand on the pocket knife in your pocket. The lights were on, the table was set for dinner for one, for you, a vase of red roses sat in the center of the table, and a gift box sat nearby as well along with a note. It took you a second to process but those flowers were the same purchased from your shop earlier that day. Without a second thought you rushed into the bathroom and locked the door and pulled out your phone and dialed someone up, someone you had just met and the moment he answered you spoke.
“Gaston, the mafia broke into my apartment.”

When John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy moved in together for the first time as newlyweds, they rented a four-bedroom townhouse in Georgetown, with oak floors, huge windows, and an English-style back garden with a brick walkway and bright flower beds.
Now, for the first time, that house is about to hit the real estate market, having been kept in the owner’s family since it was built in 1942.
The list price is $2 million.
Tumblr media
John and Jackie married on 12 September 1953, in Newport, Rhode Island.
It was the high-society event of the season, with more than 700 guests.
After they honeymooned in Mexico, Jackie, 24, stayed with her in-laws in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, while John, a 36-year-old freshman senator, visited on the weekends.
Jackie wasn’t a huge fan of the arrangement and was “anxious” to get a place of their own, according to Anne Garside in her book “Camelot at Dawn: Jacqueline and John Kennedy in Georgetown, May 1954.”
John’s secretary found the furnished rental at 3321 Dent Pl. NW in December 1953; the couple moved in just after the holidays, in January 1954.
Tumblr media
Jackie was no newcomer to the Washington area. She had spent part of her childhood in the tony suburb of McLean, Virginia, and had been working as a photographer for the Washington Times-Herald when she met Kennedy in 1952.
According to Garside, John already had ambitions for the White House and welcomed any press attention, so when a photo agency suggested a spread on Jackie’s homemaking skills in the spring of 1954, he and Jackie readily agreed.
From May 4 to 9, photographer Orlando Suero took more than a thousand photos of the couple in their rented home, many of which ended up in the women’s magazine McCall’s.
In the photos, the house holds the couple like a warm embrace. Here, they lean side by side against a balcony railing; there, John relaxes with a book in the sunny backyard while Jackie tends the garden.
There are photos of Jackie coming down the stairs in a ballgown for a candlelit dinner party.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are others showing her dressed “casually” in a plaid pencil skirt while talking on the phone in a second-floor bedroom and on the patio petting the dog.
Suero even captured the couple looking through their wedding photos together.
“The sessions reflected the image that the Kennedys themselves wished to project,” Garside wrote: glamorous, rich, young and powerful.
Even so, she wrote, a present-day reflection on all that would befall them makes them appear “strangely vulnerable” in the photos.
Tumblr media
The Kennedys damaged a number of items in the home in only six months, leading to a large bill upon moving out — $385.49, or about $4,300 in today’s money.
The listing includes a photo of a letter from Jackie to her landlord Virginia Childs, reading:
Tumblr media
After Dent Place, the Kennedys spent a few months at Jackie’s family home in McLean, where they experienced their first great trial as a couple.
John’s chronic back problems became so severe, he required a spinal-fusion operation and nearly died of a resulting infection. They spent time in Florida while he recovered.
When they returned to Washington, the couple moved to Hickory Hill in McLean.
It was there the Kennedys experienced another tragedy: In August 1956, their first child, Arabella, was stillborn.
The couple would later lose another child, Patrick, who died at 2 days old in 1963; months later, Kennedy was assassinated.
“Their stay in the house at Dent Place has received only passing mentions in books about the Kennedys,” Garside wrote. “Yet these few months in their first home were perhaps the only relatively normal time in J[ohn] and Jackie’s married life.”
After Kennedy’s assassination, Jackie moved temporarily to Georgetown again, this time to a sprawling mansion on N Street NW.
Incredibly, that property is also on the market.
At $2 million, the Dent Place home is by far the cheaper of the two. The one on N Street, which has been combined with two adjacent properties, is listed at $26.5 million.

But when the infamous group of operatives labeled “The Cadre” prevents Celaena from completing her latest mission, everything goes to hell. a/n: Hey guys! This is the first chapter in my new fic CODENAMES!! It's a crossover between Throne of Glass and Agents of Shield. Not sure how long this series will be but I am hoping it to be decent sized. Enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1: Adarlan's Assassin
Adarlan’s Assassin had no identity. Nothing was known about who they worked for or where they came from. Many assumed that they were a bedtime story told to keep people’s mouths shut and pockets open. The only thing that was known about them was the fact that they were one of the world’s best assassins, if not the best. They were on the top of every agency's Most Wanted list and hunted like a feral bat in a nursery. Everyone wanted them dead, not because they were a risk to their lives, but because if Adarlan’s Assassin was given your name, you would be dead. Not only your body, but your reputation and everything you had ever built, touched, or even looked at. If you wanted to stay alive in this world, you learned not to be on the wrong side of their gun.
Luckily for Celaena, she didn’t need to worry about being on the wrong side of the gun. She was the gun. The way people revered her reputation was laughable at times. Considering where she started, one would think that Adarlan’s Assassin would have a less than desirable reputation. But her old reputation was in no way even considered to be the same person as Adarlan’s Assassin. Celaena’s style and work had grown and changed so much from her first few years as a trainee that nobody suspected or even connected her offenses to being committed by the same person.
Considering that she was one of, if not the most feared assassins around, you would think that she would get her pick of assignments. However, instead of being sent on the one assignment she had ever begged to be on, Celaena was instead sent to Wendlyn. She was to kill the President’s son, Galan. President Ashryver had recently denied Arobynn some vital information in the form of locking up one of his many lap dogs and Arobynn held grudges. Hard.
To Celaena, this was nothing more than a punishment for her. She should’ve been doing other bigger, better assignments, but Arobynn had had it out for her ever since she messed up an assignment a while back. Either way, she was stuck with this assignment now, and she would deal with her anger the best way she knew; showing Arobynn just what he was missing out on by completing this mission, one way or another.
Which ultimately led her to her current state, being shacked up in the attic of a liquor shop. The attic was in a somewhat suitable state, being mostly used as storage so Celaena had to move around a few boxes in order to make space for herself. There were also a few critters scattered here and there, but Celaena didn’t mind them. When you're on your own for so long, you learn to make friends in the smallest of critters. Celaena gave them a few pieces of bread she had swiped from a stand while strolling through the market earlier today.
The liquor store’s attic window had the perfect vantage point for the route that Galan Ashryver would be taking to his family’s summer home and the store owner’s were oblivious enough that they didn’t notice someone enter their shop and never come out. Stupidly enough, Wendlyn lived in such a state of peace and ignorance that most of their government traveled light, with only one other escort and more often than not, had an open roof on their cars. Celaena may have thought it to be stupid but she wasn’t going to complain, considering it made her job ten times easier.
After adjusting her rifle and ensuring that she had the perfect viewpoint of the street, Celaena took a swig from one of the dozens of flasks she had found while arranging herself in the attic. She may be one of the best assassins around, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t have fun on the job. After all, if she was going to do something worthless, she might as well enjoy it. Arobynn might scold her if he finds out she was drinking on the job, but the worst he would do was give her a few beatings. Nothing she couldn’t handle.
Galan wasn’t set to be arriving for another few hours, so Celaena settled under the window and opened the latest book she had been invested in. It was set in a world with a school of magic and dragons. She’d always wanted to ride a dragon. Celaena hated to admit it, but reading was her guilty pleasure. Books took her away to another world where she didn’t have to think about any of her problems in the real world and could just spend a few hours imagining she had an entirely different life. If Arobynn found out she wasted time on something as revolting as reading rather than working to “hone her craft,” he would have a fit and most likely burn every book she had in her collection. And probably her as well. She never took them out when he was around.
Over the next few hours, Celaena immersed herself into the book all the while keeping an eye on the meticulous schedule she had to keep if she wanted to come out unscathed from this assignment.
When it neared the time that Galan was scheduled to be turning onto her street, Celaena sat up and began arranging herself on the floor into a comfortable but advantageous position. She was a little woozy from all the alcohol she had consumed, but not nearly enough for it to impair her job. She could still shoot the rifle with precision. Her other senses just may not have been as strong as they usually were.
Either way Celaena was prepared to kill Galan. She may not have liked it, but eventually she would get over her guilt and move on. She always did.
Not too long after getting into position, Celaena heard the tell-tale signs of Galan’s motor parade, what with all the cheering and commotion going on. Celaena never understood what it was that people loved so much about the Ashryvers, but she couldn’t blame them. Everyone was brainwashed at some point in their life. Even her.
Taking a deep breath, Celaena centered herself and began to count down from 10.
10…
Celaena reached down and loaded a round into her rifle’s chamber.
9…
Shaking out her shoulders, she relaxed her body and leaned into the rifle.
8…
Celaena heard a creak of floor boards behind her, but paid no mind to it, making it out to be the critters she had seen roaming around earlier.
7…
Celaena closed her eyes and blocked out all outside noises and distractions, giving into Adarlan’s Assassin and letting it take the reins.
6…
Galan’s escort turned the corner and Adarlan’s Assassin centered their scope on Galan, straight through the open window.
5…
Adarlan’s Assassin felt the breeze from the open window against their neck and placed their finger against the trigger.
4…
There was the distinct sound of a glock being disengaged.
3…
The feeling of a cold, hard muzzle was pressed against the back of her head and Celaena’s whole body froze, her eyes open wide in panic.
2…
A cold, rough voice behind her spoke; “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
1…Shit.

Rio Ortiz Romantic Chapter 25 Summary
This is mostly a summary for me - I make no promises on the accuracy of what’s happening. I’m not nearly fluent enough to get half the jokes/innuendo much less accurate plot points.
After completing her duties as Belle, Emma has left the court to resume her normal life. At the bookstore, Rio is pleading with the bookstore owner, Akatsuki, for his blessing on Rio and Emma’s marriage. For everything that has changed, some things will always be the same. The very normal interaction between Rio and Akatsuki helps ground Emma.
Akatsuki is not pleased with Rio at the moment, as he fears that Emma, who is definitely not his daughter, would be in danger if she was with Rio any longer. Over the course of less than a month, Emma’s home was set on fire and burnt to the ground, assassins were shooting arrows at her, and she had to fret over Rio for a good week while he recovered from a bad stabbing. Honestly, the best thing for Emma would be for Rio to leave her be.
Rio concedes that Akatsuki has some very good points. And there is the chance that Emma would have a happier, normal life if she was with someone else. Everything that happened was because Rio got her involved with internal Benitoite affairs, something that he would love to apologize a million times more for. But, using that logic would be to ignore Emma’s own wishes, which are to be with Rio.
Emma chose to stay with Rio even when everything was burning down, and her own life was in danger. She stayed with Rio through his fight with his brother, and after every horrible thing that had happened to her, she still loved him. It would be denying Emma’s own agency to throw her away for someone else at this point. Emma has chosen to stay with Rio, so the only responsible thing he can do is make her the happiest person in the world.
Rio loves Emma more than anyone else ever could and wants a future with her more than anyone else would. And Emma cannot fathom a world where she would be happier with anyone other than Rio.
Without answering Rio, Akatsuki looks at Emma and asks her what her plans are. Emma explains that the letter Emidio gave them was real, Rio’s father, the King of Benitoite, has invited her to his country. Granted, there had been several developments since the letter had been received, necessitating Rio’s delayed return. However, since the affair with Emidio had been settled, Rio cannot linger in Rhodolite any longer and must return.
Previously, with assassins after Rio, and Emma’s role as Belle, they had agreed that she would not accompany him. Now, with Emidio incapacitated, and Emma free from her role, Emma is accepting the King’s offer.
When she had finished her duties as Belle, she had a long conversation with Sariel. He had pointed out that if she were to stay with Rio, Emma would need far more education that the slipshod version she received as Belle, including etiquette, dance, politics, economy, and history. Furthermore, she has deceived the Royal Family of the very country she intends to visit.
There is a relatively simple solution, Emma can continue with her identity as a noble lady from Rhodolite and join the Rhodolite Embassy in Benitoite as a goodwill ambassador. Her duties would be to strengthen the friendship with the nobles and the royal family of Benitoite. And hey, she is already at a great start with the Royal Family.
Unfortunately, this means Emma would need to leave the bookstore for good. Akatsuki understands, he knew that someday Emma would look up from her romance books and focus on the world in front of her.  Moved to tears, Emma thanks her father.
Akatsuki: I’m not your father.
Rio is also happy with the idea of Emma becoming a goodwill ambassador. He wonders if he should return to being her butler to help her through it. At Emma’s look, Rio assures her that few nobles outside of the Royal Family would recognize them, they could totally pull it off.
Then again, he already did make a promise to be the kind of person that Emma would want to show off as her lover. So, he’s probably going to have to stay a prince and be involved in running the country. Emma recalls that once Rio adamantly wished to stay away from national affairs, but now he is looking at her with clear blue eyes.
Rio wants to be able to use his name to protect Emma. Also, if he stands at the front of the stage, he will be able to do more for his country than he could from the shadows. Rio wants to say goodbye to Valerio the coward.
Emma understands that if Rio becomes politically active, the amount of malice around him will increase. But at the same time, the number of allies will also increase. There was a firm determination in Rio’s eyes as he accepted that he was going to have to protect many things that were important to him. Rio as a leader would certainly shine like the sun.
Emma may have fallen in love with Rio again. Rio gushes over how cute Emma is and hugs her.
Akatsuki: No hanky-panky in my store.
Rio was reluctant to let Emma go, and Emma could understand. Even though this contact was overall trivial, it makes her happy. Love really is something.
Akatsuki is convinced by Emma’s decision and gives them his blessing. However, if it grows too hard, Emma always has this store to return to. Smiling cheerfully Rio assures him that he will make Emma happy. Akatsuki admits that after three years of watching him, he believes that Rio could do it.
Time moves on
Rio and Emma left Rhodolite on a sunny day, the sky the same clear blue as Rio’s eyes. They traveled along the sea for several days before arriving at the Benitoite court. While Emma has read about the Benitoite royal palace in books, seeing it firsthand was something else. While Rhodolite’s castle was beautiful, Benitoite’s palace was a different beauty.
The castle walls were light and shone, reflecting on the many pools and streams. The shining sun gave it a jewel-like gleam, a beacon in the country of sea and trade.
Tumblr media
The front of the castle is full of servants and people, all overjoyed at seeing their prince return after three years. While Emma only had stories of Valerio told to her by Rio, it was obvious that the servants loved had loved him. No matter how much Rio talked about how horrible and selfish he had been, something must have shone through to touch all these people.
Jingle-jingle.
Silvio pushes his way through the crowd to greet the shitty dog and cocky girl. Even though it had been several weeks since Emma has seen Silvio, he hasn’t changed at all.
Emma had already chosen the king and left the court by the time Silvio left for Benitoite, but she had heard what had happened. There had been a few more talks that had gone nowhere fast, and then the princes returned to their respective countries. Gilbert, the focus of the rumors, had left for Obsidian without promising peace or negotiating a trade pact. Neither Keith nor Silvio had made any notable bargains or agreements before they returned either. In the end, it had just been one very tense social gathering.
It is an unsolved mystery why the Prince of Obsidian wanted to join the peace talks in the first place, as he was uninterested in forming a treaty of any kind. On the other hand, he had not put any effort into revealing Emma’s status as Belle and taking advantage of Rhodolite’s weakened position. In the end, Emma just couldn’t understand Gilbert.
Silvio interrupts Emma’s thoughts to say that he has been waiting to thank them for some time. Emma sees what Silvio is holding and instantly feels sick to her stomach. It was a beautiful, pale rose jewel in a golden necklace, the pride of Rhodolite craftsmanship.
Oh, yeah. That.
Silvio notes that this is worth 100 million gold coins. So why, pray tell, did he pay 10 billion gold coins for it?
Rio snarks that with Silvio’s finances, 100 million and 10 billion are pocket change. Honestly, he’s surprised Silvio even noticed. If anything, he owes them for the effort they put into acquiring it. Silvio starts twitching at Rio’s bright smile.
Silvio asks Emma if she recalls his warning to her. That if Rio spent his funds irresponsibly, she would be held responsible? Emma insists that it was a necessary expense. Rio adds that the remaining 9.9 billion gold coins are shipping and handling expenses. They worked hard and fought off thieves and robbers to safeguard this jewel for Silvio. Speaking of which, Rio guesses that Emidio was the one who arranged for the thieves to attack him.
Silvio: Oh, no. That was me.
Emma and Rio both goggle at Silvio, before Rio, starts to reason it out. He was wondering why Silvio didn’t go to the auction, even though his business meeting was moved the night before. If he matches the timeline, that was the night that Emidio first presented himself at the castle. Silvio must have arranged the auction to keep Emma and Rio from running into Emidio that night.
Silvio agrees, Emidio already knew about Rio and had arranged for assassins. Until then, Silvio had tried to arrange things so that Emidio and Rio wouldn’t clash, but that had gone out of his hands. Then he figured that he would put Rio into a dangerous situation and try to awaken his sense of danger. When that had failed, he had left the palace so that Rio and Emidio would meet at the Embassy, though he had not anticipated Rio bringing Emma along with him. Honestly, do either of them have any common sense?
Back to Silvio’s original point, though. Rio and Emma owe him 9.9 billion gold coins, and he expects them both to work hard to pay it off. Rio agrees, Silvio’s help is worth that . . . only in a world where Rio has suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was abused by Silvio using him as a servant all that time in Rhodolite, and his service is worth 10 billion gold coins. Silvio disagrees, if anything, Rio’s only worth 5 billion gold coins.
Emma wonders at the progression of terms Rio uses to refer to Silvio. It had started with ‘Prince Silvio’ to ‘Jingles’ to ‘Older Brother’ and now it’s just ‘you’. Seeing how openly antagonistic Rio is with Silvio, Emma is reminded that they really are brothers.
Silvio is telling Rio that if he wanted 10 billion gold coins of service, he should have told Silvio about Rhodolite’s weakness. Rio insists that there is no way he ever would, does Silvio not realize at this point who Rio’s lover is? Silvio reminds Rio that he should be on Benitoite’s side, and they had an opportunity to control Rhodolite which Rio squandered. Rio refuses to betray a country to which he owes a debt of gratitude. Both Benitoite and Rhodolite are important to him.
Emma recalls one afternoon, three years ago, when Rio hated Rhodolite. She had hoped that he would fall in love with the city and the country and treasure it as much as she did. Eventually, he had, and seeing Rio the Prince repeat that sentiment touched her heart. Even with his memories as a Prince of Benitoite, Emma was certain that Rio would also take good care of Rhodolite.
Silvio throws up his hands in disgust, complaining that Rio has grown very impertinent. At that moment, a new figure emerged from the crowd, and Emma recognizes Carlo. He apologizes for interrupting Silvio and Valerio’s brotherly reunion, but he made the arrangements Valerio asked him for. Emma can see several court maids behind him.
Rio apologizes to Emma, even though they just arrived this day to court, there is a formal reception tonight. Emma recalls that Rio asked his father to arrange a very public display of his return. What Emma said back in the bookstore is now put to the test, as she will debut as a goodwill ambassador from Rhodolite.
Rio wishes that he could help Emma with her preparations, and Emma assures him that she understands. He has his duties, and doubtlessly many people have been waiting for him to return. The maids will be fine in helping Emma prepare. Laughing, Rio kisses her forehead, to the approval of the crowd.
Silvio complains that Rio is pissing him off, and grabs Rio’s head. He is honestly surprised that after everything they’ve been through together, Emma didn’t wind up leaving Rio. More than that, what is with Rio’s welcome back party, what happened to Valerio the Coward?
Rio tells Silvio that he is done sneaking around and hiding. From now on, Silvio should prepare himself, as the battle for the throne is not over between them.  Rio wants Emma to love Benitoite as much as she loves Rhodolite, which means that Rio protects both her and the country. And the easiest way to do that would be from the throne as Benitoite’s king.
Silvio clenches his hand harder on Rio’s head and asks what fool would give the throne to a fucking dog. Suddenly Silvio lets go of Rio’s head and acknowledges Rio’s declaration. Silvio will crush Rio in the battle for the throne.
That night Emma attends the ballroom, whose large windows overlook the endless ocean. It was so different from Rhodolite’s ballroom that Emma felt like she was on a different continent. Emma is going to have to get used to the sea.
Escorting her, Rio asks if Emma is starting to like the view, and Emma nods. She looks around at the actual guests, admiring their clothes. She wonders if it’s a cultural difference that the gowns look far more opulent than Rhodolite’s fashion.
Even though she is using this as a debut of sorts, the party is for Rio, so they both have the attention of all the attendees. She had thought she had mentally prepared herself for this while riding with Rio, but now that she’s here, her knees grow weak. She mentally walks herself through the events, first, she will dance with Rio, then she will present herself to the King, and then  . . .
Rio thought Emma would like the Benitoite ballroom. He admits that back then, the Rhodolite ballroom had dazzled him as well. Very gently, his fingers tighten on Emma’s hand, and she feels like he’s trying to tell her that it will be okay. Rio continues the low conversation, noting that she only ever danced that one time with Gilbert. Emma assures him that Sariel had been teaching her dancing, and she can probably manage it.
Rio doesn’t mind how Emma dances. The only important part is that Emma enjoys herself, and trusts his lead, he won’t let her make a mistake while she is with him. Emma can’t control her smile as Rio winks at her. Rio is a good dancer, and as long as Emma is his partner, he will love every moment of it.
Eventually, they make their way to the middle of the hall where the dancing is and bow to each other. As the music picks up, they begin to dance together. As it turns out, Rio wasn’t lying, and he is a good dancer. The flower-patterned lace dress he chose for Emma spreads out as they dance, and Rio compliments her. The fear and anxiety melt away from Emma’s heart.
Whether she is in the Rhodolite Court or the Benitoite Court, there has always been the same person at her side encouraging her. It has always been Rio, the one who makes her laugh and smile, the one who was able to pull her out of her world of books to spend time in the real world. She thanks Rio for giving her a reason to smile, and for loving her.
Rio grumbles that Emma is mean, saying all that in this situation where he can’t easily kiss her. Suddenly he intertwines their fingers and holds her to him as they dance. He confesses that even when he loved her, he never dared to dream of the day she would love him back. Right now, he feels like he is in a wonderful dream. Emma tells him that this is too warm to be a dream and Rio laughs. Emma is right, she’s here, and he’s here. He will always be here.
Rio asks her to stay with him forever. He loves her so much he is afraid of himself. He wishes that she would only look at him, and only think of him.
Eventually, the music stops and she and Rio exchange formal bows once again. The room erupts in applause and once again, Rio takes her hand. He leads her to the deepest part of the dance hall, where the King and Queen of Benitoite are. Emma is going to meet Rio’s parents.
Their exchange is brief, but Emma can feel the love between the three of them. Rio introduces Emma as the one he wrote about, who saved his life and turned him from a beast into a human, to his beloved parents.

c!dnf is heartbreaking, lol. Dream takes away George’s kingship to protect him after someone tries to assassinate him and George takes it as a sign that Dream doesn’t think of him as a friend/loved one anymore, George can never visit Dream in prison despite constantly waiting outside and always holding onto Dream’s shield no matter what, he has dreams of burning the whole SMP to the ground and killing everyone and everything because fuck it, what does it matter anymore, and is just generally devastated by his lack of agency in anything — all the while Dream’s whole plan is, on some level, for George’s sake. (One Big Happy Family.) (George is at the very top of his planning board in the prison. George has never left his mind, not really.)
Anyway, c!dnf headcanons, you say? How about in the Pet Dream AU, blob!Dream spends a good portion of his time with George as his owner (second only to Quackity) and is constantly struggling to get close to him while letting out happy chirps whenever he so much as gets a glimpse of him in public. George actually plays hard-to-get with the little thing whenever it chases him around, even if he can’t stop laughing the whole time. (He kicks it out of his house a few times, only to wake up to it snuggling into his chest and purring.) (Whenever the blob is being annoying he responds by wrecking its tummy. This is not a deterrent in any way whatsoever.)
fzyxyshs yes yes cdnf is literally so unbreaking like it’s so beautifully tragic and perfect ☹️ i feel like i don’t get to discuss them enough on my blog so i’m so happy 😭 they just are the ones that drive each other up the wall. they would destroy their own worlds for each other
(discussion belowowww)
🦙🦙🦙…
AND SO NATURALLY YOU PUT HIM INTO THE PET AU IM GOING TO CRY 😖😖😖😖 blob dream just being so needy for george’s attention :(( and so unable to hide his reactions when he even just sees gogy?? i’m feckin imagining them playing hide and seek?? but with blob dream getting too distressed if he can’t find george after a certain amount of time and george unhiding out of sympathy??
i love the idea of him playing hard to get as well. like he just enjoys messing with the fact that the little white blob at his door is so desperate to see him. like shutting the door in his tiny pathetic face is just amusing. the squeak of dismay that he hears through the wooden door. i also love the idea of him trying to give him tickles to make the little blob give him some space. except that this only makes dream even more clingy
like you know those videos of people throwing their cats or sliding them across the floor and the cats coming back for them to do it again? i can imagine george doing that with blob dream and tickles. like say he’s trying to concentrate on a book or crafting or something,, and blob dream keeps nuzzling into his hands and getting in his way… he’ll just like, grab the blob, wiggle his finger on his tummy until his squeaks of joy start turning into little wheezes, and then just roll him away. of course a few seconds later dream will be back for more though hehe

Ch.8-When you were this small TWST Mafia AU
(warning tags below)
Another classy party, terrible Hors d’oeuvres, and lethargic music. All the things Lilia didn’t care for on his missions but had to accompany Malleus for this occasion. Normally all assignments that Lilia would be given are for tough customers with dangerous lifestyles, that mostly involve someone getting shot, but Malleus insisted he needed him for this night. The blood red eyes scanned the party guests for his target who was rumored to have a fancy for Malleus, not a big surprise by that sentiment, and he quietly sipped wine from his glass. This evening the shorter man dressed in a white long sleeved shirt with gold cufflinks, paired with a black waistcoat with gold buttons and a lining of white down the flaps of the waistcoat as well, and his pants were a black color striped with a lighter gray. His dress shoes were shined and his new black gloves protected him from leaving fingerprints, around his shoulders rested a royal green coat with cream colored cuffs at the ends of the sleeves, and white roses on the shoulders with a gold clip on the front in the shape of a bat.
One could say he did enjoy dressing up every now and then, but having to pretend he enjoyed these slow and egocentric parties was a pain. He glanced over to Malleus, who was looking stoic as always to the overly enthusiastic guests, and a small smile crossed his features. He had known Malleus ever since the Dorniger Drache leader was a baby, being five years older and a top assassin also meant that Malleus was his pupil in a way. It always made him chuckle now about how stubborn he was when Malleus’s grandmother told Lilia that he would be training her grandson. He would try every trick in the book to avoid the young master until Malleus found all of Lilia’s secret hiding places in the agency. Eventually he had to give in to his bosses orders and train the young man himself how to be an assassin. At an early age, Lilia was already revered by his peers for being at rank 6 when he was sixteen years old, assassins have to go through a total of 12 ranks in order to be a master and very few get that chance. By the age of twenty-four Lilia had successfully become a master and Malleus had received rank 6 himself, along with that Silver was seven years old when he received rank 1.
It was hard to get to such a high level rank when Silver was adopted, but Malleus helped the boy tremendously in training while also improving his own skills. Lilia could never appreciate Malleus enough for helping him watch Silver. A gentle chuckle escaped the dual-color haired man as he set the glass down and began walking around, his coat fluttering behind him as he scoped out the people in the party and continued to reminisce. He remembered one particular day when Malleus had been appointed to a mission with him, it was a cold winter day in December and Lilia was at the age of sixteen and this was the first mission that Malleus would attend, who was eleven years old at the time. They were on a mission in Pyroxene to subtly kill a famous art gallery owner who loved to sell art on the side to other wealthy people, something that violated his rights and the rights of the artists. Being so young they could only do so much to get into the party, guided in by someone who swiped them VIP passes and then forced to find the man and get rid of him.
“Alright, Malleus you get to lure him to me, I’ll wait behind the curtain display.” Lilia spoke quietly, motioning to the curtains that covered the entrance to the employees area.
Malleus’s eyes narrowed slightly and asked in a very pointed tone. “Why don’t you get him and I will dispose of him?”
“Because I outrank you and your grandmother will be very mad if I put you in danger.” Lilia replied with an aggressive growl. “Just lure him over saying you dropped something and wanted to be a good boy and not cross the “do not enter” sign, okay?”
The boy let out a low grumble of his own before walking off, Lilia only smirked as he walked past the curtains and waited patiently for Malleus to return. A few minutes passed and the teen’s anxiety only grew since he could not hear the young man approaching at all, or the gallery owner for that matter, but the calm chatter through the building suddenly broke out into screams. A loud crash made Lilia look out the curtains, but screams of the guests made him speed out to find Malleus. In the center of the gallery one of the artistic light structures made of glass had fallen onto the owner, blood pooling in the center of the room along with the dead body, Lilia’s eyes quickly noticed the small body running along the catwalks of the gallery building. Letting out a frustrated groan the assassin quickly found the service entrance and ran up the stairs, catching Malleus halfway up and grabbing him roughly by the shoulders.
“Malleus! Do you realize this is supposed to be an “inconspicuous” kill?! Why did you kill him in a hall of rich people and security guards?”
“Either way you look at it, his body would have been found and reported, my grandmother said his death would bring out the other cowards who sell art on the black market.”
“He was supposed to go missing! That was the message!”
The voices of security guards snapped Lilia’s attention away from Malleus, but grabbed onto the boy’s arm tightly as he ran up the stairs and to the door leading to the roof. Lilia took out a hairpin and carefully picked the lock while Malleus stood watch, once the door was opened they sped upstairs and looked for a service ladder or a safe way down. All the while Lilia’s blood boiled angrily. “I still cannot believe you did something so careless without even trying to tell me.”
“You would have stopped me-”
“For good reason! Rule number two is, never be found out and number three is, never leave your partner in the dark!”
“But number one says to never be caught, where number five is if you have an opportunity to dispose of your target do not hesitate.” Malleus argued angrily, his vibrant green eyes scanning the side of the building. “There’s no way down from here, why did you lead us-”
“I have it covered.” Lilia cut him off, taking out special gloves from his pockets that had small sharp cleats on the palm and fingers. “You’re going to get on my back and I’ll scale down.”
“Are you sure you can carry the both of us?”
“I’ve carried far heavier, kid. Don’t make me sound so frail.”
Malleus huffed and waited for Lilia to bend down before climbing onto his back, wrapping his arms around tightly and propping his head on Lilia’s right shoulder. Behind them a few angry shouts called out and Lilia pulled his hood up before leaping off the side of the building, his palms collided loudly with the building next door and slowed their descent greatly. There were police sirens in the distance which made Lilia hurry down the wall and Malleus clung onto him tightly, after his feet touched the ground there was a loud bang and the door on the side of the building was opened with two more guards. The blood red eyes sharpened with an intensity that Malleus had never seen from the teen, the assassin quickly ran down the alleyway passages as the men followed but Lilia was far faster even with the eleven year old on his back. Once he gave the guards the slip with a slide into a small alleyway, Malleus slid off his back and was pushed into the darkest part of the alley.
“Malleus, stay here, I’ll be right back. Do not move an inch, understand?” Lilia ordered, his eyes boring into Malleus and the boy nodded with hesitation.
Lilia walked out then, following after the guards who had passed them and Malleus listened quietly, a few grunts were heard accompanied by two shots from a pistol then everything was soundless. His heart throbbed painfully in his chest as he watched the entrance to his narrow passageway, but soon he eased up when Lilia stepped around the corner. However, in comparison to Lilia’s normal confident attitude, his mentor’s face was twisted in pain which made Malleus run to him. “Lilia? Are you hurt?”
“Y-yeah kid..” Lilia mumbled, then Malleus saw how his left hand was covering his waist and blood was staining his shirt. “Call the agency, I need to sit for a second, tell them it’s a code LOF.”
Malleus did as he was told and used his radio to signal the agency crew on standby, watching his mentor sit in the dirty alleyway as he held his wound. Soon after giving the code, the young boy stepped closer and took off his black coat and pressed it onto Lilia’s wound, causing a painful hiss to escape but gaining a grateful look as well. They sat silently as Lilia focused on his breathing and held the coat to the wound, Malleus stared at his teacher before asking. “Did it hit something vital?”
“Not sure..I’m hoping it just hit an intestine and not the aorta.”
“Lilia..I’m sorry, if I didn’t..I should have spoken with you about my idea..”
“Yes, you should have.” Lilia replied quietly and slowly looked at the boy, surprised to see such a sorrowful expression he tried to make the situation lighter. “Hey, I’m not dying yet, you do not have to cry over me.”
“I’m not crying..” Malleus replied stubbornly. “My grandmother is going to be angry isn’t she?”
“Most likely, but the most important thing is getting home alive.” Lilia muttered then slowly petted the boy with his unoccupied hand. “Malleus, you have great potential but you need to remember that we have rules for a reason, if we try to change them suddenly someone is bound to get hurt..what is rule number six?”
“Do not jeopardize the agency..”
“Right..” Lilia nodded and lurched forward as he coughed into his arm, making Malleus panic and help hold pressure to his wound. Soon the coughing slowed down and Lilia continued. “You’re going to make mistakes..I made a few too, and one resulted in the loss of one of our agents because I didn’t listen. That’s kind of why I did not want you to join me, I don’t work well with partners.”
Malleus thought about Lilia’s words carefully, noticing the flex of anguish in those red eyes, he carefully responded. “When I get stronger, I want to be your partner in all your missions.”
Red eyes locked with the strong green ones, surprised at his apprentice's words and chuckling softly. “We’ll have to see, after all you’ll be taking over the agency some day. Which means we will see each other less.”
“I won’t let that happen.” Malleus replied with determination, earning another pet from Lilia.
A few minutes had passed before more of their agents honed in on their location and quickly took them to the van, Malleus however was soon separated when Lilia was taken to the nearest hospital in Pyroxene. Despite the comforting words of agents saying Lilia was strong, protected, and would be taken care of, the boy couldn’t help but worry. His grandmother did indeed get mad after Malleus confessed to what happened, however his punishment was already enough with guilt eating away at him. Lilia looked so peaceful in the hospital, Malleus took whatever time he could to go see his mentor and always brought a new bouquet of flowers, to which the duel-color haired man just smiled and graciously took them. It was only after Lilia’s forced month-long time off that he discovered Silver in an alleyway and brought him home as his son, to which Malleus did his best to help Lilia out when it was possible.
Malleus kept true to his word though, even over the span of the years the two were almost always together, whenever Lilia was not training others or out on a mission. Now both were at master assassin levels and the agency, and their business had begun to spread to farther reaches of Nirvana’s Steel and beyond. Coming back to reality, Lilia grinned seeing his target downstairs in the ballroom area and strutted up to the man to offer a drink. The target was a man in his mid-40’s who had a habit of gambling good tax dollars from the people, and rumors were that he wanted to talk to Malleus about a potential investment. It was easy for Lilia to charm the man to drink a cocktail he left a dissolvable pill in, but he would need to keep him occupied for another fifteen minutes before the effects took place.
“I don’t recognize you.” The man commented then asked. “You must be a close friend of Mr. Von-Brein.”
“Oh no, a good friend of another friend.” Lilia brushed off with a smile and added. “I just never imagined an invitation out of the blue. I’ve only just started out in this city.”
“Well someone so young has plenty of time to grow here.” Lilia grimaced internally of the implication that followed. “Although you’re visually stunning, perhaps one of the modeling agencies could use your features.”
“You flatter me, I’m not interested in strangers staring at my figure.”
“Excuse me.” Both men turned their attention to Malleus, the two very surprised as the tall stoic figure took Lilia’s hand and pulled him closer. “I apologize for interrupting, but I wish to dance with my friend before we retire for the night.”
“O-oh of course Mr. Draconia! But I was hoping to talk to you about an investment plan.”
“I will be returning to another party soon, perhaps you can meet me there.” Malleus replied in a collected manner before bowing to the man and walking with Lilia to the dancefloor as the music switched to a classic ballroom song. “How long do we have?”
“Until his body goes into shock? seven more minutes.” Lilia replied with a smirk and let Malleus lead him by his left hand. “Don’t tell me you were worried about me.”
“No, never about you Lilia, but I prefer if my escort stays in my line of sight.”
“Aww, so you were worried.”
Malleus rolled his eyes at Lilia’s playful remark and led the dance, despite their height difference Lilia never felt small to his boss and occasionally would switch them so he led the dance instead of the taller man. It had only been a couple minutes before Lilia couldn’t help himself and mentioned. “You know, you did not have to attend the party or have me as an escort, I know for a fact you could have handled the target by yourself.”
“This is true, but I was hoping we would have a chance to relax.”
“Relax? Malleus, my friend, we are at a party surrounded by arrogant, ingrates. I find it more relaxing being at home or at my desk.”
“That is the problem, your definition of relaxing is work or playing video games with your online friends. I don’t believe you’ve socialized outside of the agency.”
“Pot, meet kettle.” Lilia cackled and gasped when Malleus spun him.
“My point is, I believe we both need to socialize more and spend more time outside of work.”
“Ah~ I see. In that case, there is this amazing concert coming up, normally I just stream it on my TV but if you’re offering to pay maybe we can go.”
“Why should I pay?” Malleus huffed stubbornly, getting a playful glint from the blood red eyes.
“Because it was your suggestion.”
After a brief staring contest the green eyes yielded and Malleus agreed. “Very well, I’ll pay. But you pay for the next activity.”
“Sounds good to me~” Lilia hummed and then commented. “We should probably start heading back now, we’ve got three minutes.”
“Probably for the best.” Malleus agreed and led the way off the dance floor. “You are getting older Lilia, perhaps you should slow down with the missions. I could always assign you more vacation days.”
“Malleus, this agency is all I really am. I do not want to slow down until I physically cannot go faster.”
“That is what worries me, you refuse to slow down.”
“What do you think will happen to me? Spontaneously combust?” Lilia joked as he walked outside to their black Porsche, given to them by the agency’s mechanic engineer.
“You always have surprises up your sleeves, Lilia.” Malleus replied fondly and opened the passenger door for his companion, helping him in before going to the driver's side.
Lilia took this time to take off the coat and remove the eyeshadow around his eyes, pouting a bit when Malleus started the car. “Why don’t you let me drive anymore?”
“Because you always somehow start a car chase when I do let you. Now, stop avoiding the topic, even Silver had expressed his concern when you fell asleep at your desk.”
“I was tired from playing games! Sebek recommended this energy drink to me and said it may improve my gaming skill. Which he was not wrong but I also played the game so long it was sunrise by the time the caffeine left my system.”
“The point still stands,” Malleus replied in a firmer tone. “You cannot function if you are running low on energy.”
“Stop talking about me as if I’m old.” Lilia pouted, looking at Malleus to make sure the man could feel his gaze. “I’m 34 and you’re only five years younger than me.”
“And in your live you sustained 25 broken bones, 32 surgeries for gun injuries, 150-”
“Okay! Look, that just means I’ve had a full life, your grandmother understood that.”
“But you are not just a normal assassin Lilia, you are a father, a dear friend, and far more than that.”
“Malleus, I’ll agree to hangout with you more but do not try to force me on a vacation or lesser tasks, I have my own pride and responsibility to the agency.”
The car suddenly screeched to a stop and Lilia gagged as his seatbelt yanked him back to his seat and he looked at Malleus with surprise. The young leader’s hands were clenched around the steering wheel and his eyes closed, his face was pinched in a way of frustration and exhaustion which made Lilia frown. “Lilia..I don’t want you to be like my parents..”
A cold shock ran through Lilia’s spine and he quickly understood what Malleus meant, slowly he brushed his hand over one of Malleus’s and took it off the wheel to hold it in his own. “Okay..I understand Malleus, I will try to slow down, can I have two days off a week plus more vacation days?”
“Yes..” The green eyes slowly opened, glistening from tears as he looked at Lilia and held his hand tightly.
“How about we get back, grab Sebek and Silver, then go to the ice cream shop you like?” Lilia asked with a soft smile, getting Malleus to smile in return.
“That sounds nice, it will be a good way to wrap up the night.”
A buzzing from Lilia’s phone broke the peace and the assassin took out his phone and cackled. “The police found the body~ Heart attack apparently, such a shame for a man of his age.”
Malleus couldn’t stop the chuckle that rang out from his mouth. “Yes, a shame indeed, although it's even more a shame he didn’t get your number.” To this, Lilia’s laugh became boisterous and he let go of Malleus’s hand to wipe away the happy tears in his eyes.

Can you tell us more about your guys? Like do they just hang out or are they in a story or something? What’s the Lore there?
YES I will try to do this in a way that makes sense because I have thought a positively insane amount about them.
First things first: they’re monster girls and everyone in this universe is a monster person. the reason for this is. Monster People Cool. it’s not much deeper than that. its licherally just a modern setting except with monster humanoid species and said species’ lore woven in as it fits in a modern setting. lilija is a selkie and neale is an angel.
anyway OKAY so basically their whole deal is that they’re a hitwoman duo that work for the same agency called REX, which masquerades as a vague “risk reduction” agency but actually just employs mercenaries and takes on jobs for them to carry out. legally they’re pretty sketchy and an extremely toxic work environment but their owner and CEO Madame Rex has enough money and lacks enough morals that it doesn’t really matter 👍🏻 their story is set in an alternate Vague SoCal Area where crime and corruption is pretty rampant, thus why an assassin agency has a pretty substantial market in their universe and why the Madame has enough local law enforcement in her pocket that they can get away with a lot. ok I can feel myself getting in the weeds here. moving on.
ANYWAY. lilija fell in with REX after being discovered by the Madame on the shooting range of a weapons dealer REX often worked with. lilija’s father was also a hired gun and a hunter so he taught her to shoot from a very young age and by the time she was grown she was a very skilled markswoman, so the Madame was impressed and offered her a job. lili was already on the tail end of a years-long bender sparked by a bad relationship and a car accident that may or may not have altered her brain chemistry so she was like yeah fuck it I’ll kill people for money.
(this is a VERY cliffnotes version but. lilija had a pretty traumatic childhood marked by her fathers’ extremely abusive treatment of her mother, and although she was once a fairly quiet and reserved girl, certain life events triggered an extreme fear of being controlled the way her mother was and she became very controlling and power hungry as a result. as such a career as a ruthless killer appealed very much to her psyche, esp since selkies are often seen as a defenseless species that are captured and kept by others; she has quite the complex about that and made herself into a predator rather than prey)
after lilija had already been employed by REX for years and worked her way up to the top ranks, neale appeared on their radar when lilija suddenly kept running into her on jobs. again very cliffnotes, but neale also had a rocky childhood and eventually ended up on her own in NYC where she fell in with a crime ring that put on fixed underground boxing matches. this was pretty underhanded on the bookies’ part since in this universe angels have the ability of constant regeneration, so she made a pretty good puppet that could either win a fight whenever she needed or go down as she was told. however she’s kinda naive and lonely so she didn’t really care, she kinda just liked having people to hang out with and the money didn’t hurt either. eventually that ring broke up and couple stragglers planned to go out to the west coast and take root there, and neale came with since she didn’t really have anybody else. they tried to set up their own sort of rag-tag mercenary group to get their footing, but REX quickly realized someone was trying to shoulder in on their turf when certain jobs started to line up.
this resulted in neale often getting in the way when lilija was sent out on jobs, which is where their rivalry, love-hate thing began. neale was pretty okay with having a mean, pretty girl beat her up every weak, but it drove lili insane since she’s a workaholic lone wolf type bitch. when neale’s interference began to noticeably trip lilija up, the Madame demanded to know what the deal was, and lilija begrudgingly told her some stupid angel bitch was getting in her way and not to worry about it because she was going to take her out. except when the Madame heard angel, a fairly powerful and near indestructible species, all she saw was dollar signs babeyyy and was like no fuck that, recruit her ass so we can take on even MORE clients 🤑🤑🤑 also worth mentioning angels have varying elemental abilities, neale’s being fire which is great for evidence disposal……and then since lili was her top dog she forced her and neale into a partnership and the rest is herstory girlies!!!
OH and mari is my ram girl, she’s one of many side characters but she’s the most main side character….she’s Madame Rex’s daughter and is very much a spoiled princess type, but her and her ma have a pretty strained relationship since the Madame is ummmmm Not a great mom. as such she often gets peddled off on neale and lili to “babysit” and they’re more or less her main bodyguards LOL
anyway. idk if any of that makes sense like I said I left out A LOTTTTTTT of the specifics but I basically created them to play with and indulge in various interests, likes and loves of mine LOL. a lot of their universe was inspired by things like TF2, archer, kingsman, the nice guys, etc….like THAT level of over the top, just-have-fun-with-it, sometimes goofy sometimes serious. I wanted that stuff but like, with big lesbians and monster girls I nstead.

Secret Service Investigates Elon Musk Over Online 'Joke' Questioning Why People Are Only Trying To Assassinate Trump
Tumblr media
The American People Believe that it is the Secret Service that should be investigated.
This week, the U.S. Secret Service has begun “enforcement proceedings” investigating Elon Musk’s social media post after he jokingly questioned why people have only attempted to assassinate GOP nominee Donald Trump, but not President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a Bloomberg article on Thursday.
The CEO of Tesla and the owner of X, Elon Musk, posted on Sunday: “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala???”
He said it in response to another post about the second foiled attempt on the Republican presidential contender.
Soon after, Musk deleted the post and made several other posts in an attempt to explain himself.
“Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context, and the delivery is plain text,” Musk said.
Nevertheless, many social media users are now scoffing at the information revealed by the Bloomberg piece.
Additionally, the Secret Service’s reputation seems to be turning from bad to worse, especially in light of the first and second attempts on Trump’s life, and the fact that the law enforcement agency has now decided to waste federal money in order to investigate Musk’s online post that was clearly only attempting to be funny, even if the “joke” did not land well.
Let’s also be honest. It’s the same morbid question that many Americans have already asked, either out loud or to themselves, as the mainstream media has always historically painted Republicans as being hateful, violent, and crazed gun-obsessed individuals. So, if that particular perception of Republicans was even slightly accurate, then it’s fair to assume that a large number of Americans would naturally wonder why no “gun nut” conservatives have attempted to commit violence against President Biden or Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.
“Over the course of four years in power, no one has tried to assassinate Biden or Kamala and no one will, because they are just puppets of the system and will simply be replaced by another puppet,” said one X (Twitter) user.
Through Freedom of Information Act requests, the Bloomberg news outlet discovered that the Secret Service’s Office of Protective Operations, Office of Assessment Division, and Office of Investigations all responded to requests for information about Musk’s assassination post, stating that it has been “compiled for law enforcement purposes,” and that it was withheld because “disclosure could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.”
The agency noted that they are “aware of the social media post made by Elon Musk,” according to Nate Herring, a spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service. “As a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence. We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees.”
“The worst that will likely happen if the Secret Service pays a visit to Musk is he’ll be inconvenienced, and he’ll have to prove he doesn’t pose an imminent threat to President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris,” stated Bloomberg’s FOIA Files.

Secret Service hints it wasn’t behind salon break-in during Kamala Harris campaign event

Secret Service hints it wasn’t behind salon break-in during Kamala Harris campaign event
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The U.S. Secret Service has hinted it was not involved in the break-in of a hair salon during a Kamala Harris campaign event in Massachusetts late last month. The allegations of Secret Service involvement arose after the salon’s owner, Alicia Powers, alleged that agents put duct tape over her security cameras and broke into her building by picking the lock. Security camera footage shows an individual dressed like a Secret Service agent approaching the door with a roll of tape and observing the locked door and camera before grabbing a nearby chair to put tape over the camera. “The U.S. Secret Service works closely with our partners in the business community to carry out our protective and investigative missions,” USSS spokeswoman Melissa McKenzie said in a statement. McKenzie said the Secret Service has been in contact with Powers since the July 27 incident.  SECRET SERVICE FAILURE AT TRUMP RALLY EXPOSES CULTURE ROT, STAFFING WOES”We hold these relationships in the highest regard and our personnel would not enter, or instruct our partners to enter, a business without the owner’s permission,” McKenzie said, stopping short of saying who was responsible. Powers told Business Insider that “several people” who were “in and out for about an hour-and-a-half – just using my bathroom, the alarms going off, using my counter, with no permission.” “And then when they were done using the bathroom for two hours, they left, and left my building completely unlocked, and did not take the tape off the camera,” she added.Powers later said that a USSS representative contacted her after Business Insider sought comment from the agency for comment on the incident. Fox News Digital has reached out to Powers for a response to the Secret Service’s latest comment. MINNESOTA MURDER STATS ROSE UNDER WALZ’S LEADERSHIP AS HE TRIES TO TIE VIOLENT CRIME TREND TO TRUMP: DATAThe incident comes less than a month after the assassination attempt on former President Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The shooting put heavy scrutiny on the Secret Service, which was ultimately responsible for coordinating security with local law enforcement. The scrutiny only intensified after it was revealed that law enforcement officers had observed the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, and identified him as suspicious more than an hour before the shooting, but lost track of him. Crooks was able to scale the roof of a building owned by AGR International Inc., a supplier of automation equipment for the glass and plastic packaging industry, and fire an estimated eight shots with an AR-15 style rifle. After mounting pressure, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned, following heated testimony before the House Oversight Committee. Fox News Digital’s Anders Hagstrom contributed to this report.
