Torksmith baseball au
You’re welcome
Peter is an idiosyncratic pitcher with an odd and singular windup a la Craig Kimbrel and he looooves to shake off signs. And why shouldn't he when Mike is his catcher? The bitch. Anyway. He does have a tendency to throw wild pitches, which does not a happy catcher make. Mike also is a NOT a slugger and he has maybe a little bit too much plate discipline but he loves a line driver, a ground ball, especially in high pressure situations, king of the RBI. They hate eachother but not as much as they both hate pitch com so Mike is still signing and Peter is still shaking them off.

So stuff you need to do to write a story-focused webcomic:
1. Before you draw the first page you need to organize your ideas. Make a document with descriptions of your characters' personality, relationships, background, etc., if you have a fictional setting make a section dedicated to how the world operates and what makes it different from ours.
2. Write a timeline before a script. You want to at least have a general idea of where the story's headed and you want that idea to be easily accessible for when you actually write the scenes. They don't need to be detailed, this is just going to be your guide moving forward. But if you have a really good idea that you don't want to forget then by all means write it down.
3. Have a script ready before you start each chapter, usually I make the sketches for each chapter in bulk and then add lineart/color/speech bubbles throughout each week so I tend to forget what each character was gonna say. Scripts are there to make sure that kind of thing doesn't end in disaster. You can also add things like change in colors and shot compositions as footnotes to draw them later. Basically the key is to write down every single idea you have for the scene because you're in this for the long run and memory tends to be pretty unreliable.
4. Possibly the most important thing: MAKE A SCHEDULE. The pace at which you put out pages or chapters depends entirely on you and the amount of time you have available, but whatever speed you start at you need to keep it consistent at the beginning so it becomes a part of your routine and becomes easier to follow later. I reccommend starting slowly (something like one page every week or every 2 weeks) and if you feel confident you can try picking up the pace.
Anyway I'm not a pro by any means and this is all stuff i learned through trial and error lol, so these aren't golden rules you absolutely must follow or anything but they're a good place to start. Have fun!!👍
houuuufh thats a lot of words. Thank you for the advice bestie 🫡

have you ever read the Monkees fanfic based on Midnight Cowboy?
It has a happy ending don’t worry
Yes I have! Twice actually! I really enjoy it. I think that it does a really good job of balancing Peter's television persona with the real life events they incorporate.

HI GRAY!!! :D
I thought of a random question the other day when you reblogged that poll from me that I reblogged from you (so I guess it’s not a random question lol)
Obviously you see my posts on your dashboard, whether they be on my main or sideblog
So question
How much have you picked up about Tales of Arcadia just from the posts I’ve reblogged on my sideblog? :3
(Note: I always tag Tales of Arcadia as Trollhunters, but Tales of Arcadia is a franchise consisting of three shows and a movie, Trollhunters, 3Below, Wizards, and Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. It’s just easier personally to tag it all as Trollhunters)
HI OWL!!! 🫶🫶🫶🫶
That's a good question!!! I actually have watched the first Trollhunters series (I liked it a lot!! It's been a while since I've seen it though) but I've never seen 3Below and onwards. Usually I just like seeing the pretty rendering in the art for it (lots of blue!!) but I don't know a lot about those series themselves. I think-- in 3Below at least-- there are blue alien/robot/magic guys? Who have befriended humans but need to work out some political issues with their help?? Like the trolls in Trollhunters?? And there's this kid who is your blorbo and his name is Douxie and he looks like Luka from Miraculous... I think he's politically/magically/narratively special somehow. Probably has Seen Some Things. And he has a little cat friend who you draw sometimes. Other than that I am completely out of the know but don't let that stop you I'd love to hear more about it!! What are your favorite aspects/plotlines of the series?
