i've redrawn my google maps australia pic because i really hated how the old one looked but i want to put it in the roadrat artbook, so. here's the old one [link]. first and foremost some more details, and secondly he's finally standing on the right side of the road for australia lmao (still the wrong side if you walk along a road, hoping for someone to pick you up...)

started the redraw right after returning from AUS after re-reading it there for the 28947th time, but never finished it until now.

Deep diving into Moira and the Oasis also brought to my attention how badly her experiments could effect the image of Helix Securities. Especially with the surveillance in Morocco, we could see some unprecedented imagery of Phreaks and crime, possibly in the new Morocco map that's getting teased.

I imagine that Moira was not only hoping that Helix could benefit from Vanadium ammunition, but also physical experimentation and operations regarding Helix military. Which makes me wonder how Fareeha might respond to a proposal like that.

We know Fareeha is with Overwatch currently, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about the outcome of her friends at Helix, and I'm hoping there's a voice line between her and Moira that sheds more light.

That being said, Helix's connection with a company of which their experiments are revolting and breaking out might not look good if something like that sort of news gets out to the public eye. It might seem like history repeating itself in some sort of way, if it cannot be contained, it would lead to another Rialto type incident where suspicions on Helix and Oasis arise.

Either way, it's not looking too hot.

im such an avid 2cp defender honestly it's crazy to me that they removed it from ovw but for an arcade mode. played some of it tonight when i was too tired for more tdms and it was sooo nostalgic but also just like. blatantly the experience of being back on well designed maps after witnessing the shitshows in the normal modes. i get that people hated them bc 1. they're unevenly balanced and 2. stomps either way are common, But. but. counter:

the imbalance only applies during quick play--it's frustrating if your team does fantastically the entire game only to be stopped one bit short at the end, but that goes for any qp match where you're not playing both sides of the fields, and it's Just Quick Play. in comp it's fun that you get to take turns doing the best job at defending, it was good design

overwatch 2 maps overwhelmingly favor and enable stomps, with push being the worst culprit. they also inherently incentivize players to treat the map as a messy deathmatch rather than as the environment in which to achieve a series of team goals. 2cp, in contrast, could enable some of the most tense and interesting matches out there, w long overtime battles and potential for extremely extended teamfights. both holding down and sieging the fortress are fun, and in comp games, it was especially delightful to fight intensely to do it just that One Smidge Better than your opponents
