Even more Caleb musings because he is making me fucking crazy

Caleb keeps alluding to "losing MC again". And in the childhood flashback he says something like "it's ok if you forgot, i can remind you again". So it's more or less certain then he was part of those original experiments and probably knew MC as a child pre shelter even. In which case did he....watch his friend die over and overm And forget him over and over? If so the whole overprotective part makes a little more sense (still sorta twisted but making sense).

I have watched his breakdown scene "you don't need me" things far too many times for a healthy person and hot damn. The I will give you anything you want if you let me keep you safe is so.....i'm in danger. But the sheer DESPERATION. Beautifully done, all parties involved.

Despite how serious all this is, it's fucking hilarious that Caleb uses apples as actual bullets for a fight.

Mc says her home is past the stars apparently when they're in the shelter. And I wonder if part of Calebs first dream was to take her home in that truest sense. And if thats part of why he became a deepapace pilot? To find her home beyond the stars wherever it is. He seemed so sad that present MC says those are like the silly dreams of children.

But also FINALLY SOMETHING ABOUT MC DEALING WITH THE EXPLOSION AND HER EMOTIONS LIKE DAMN. We really got a little during Reverie and then forgot about trauma and now it's BACK. I was so struck by the way MC reacts to all this, cause in the end all she could think is that she can't LOSE him again. But she's really nit hiding that sense of betrayal in their chats or phone calls. So manybare actually CENTERED in them dealing with that. So thank gods.

Also wtf is the fountain of Atei? Whyvare we back in starfell forest again? Why am I drinking lake water?????
