What’s for breakfast?
One of the best decisions we ever made for our five children is to replace breakfast cereal/instant breakfast with a (real) fat and protien rich meal.  
Think you don’t have enough time? I won’t lecture you on proactive planning, self-care, the importance of spending the start of your day with your kids, etc., but I will tell you that there are hacks to making this work regardless of time.  If the week ahead is going to be a crazy busy one, we make homemade egg muffins over the weekend (great to freeze and stock up for our hectic lives).  We also use these for a on the go snack/meal for after school activities and weekend adventures. 
Tip:  We let our kids “upkid” the recipes.  Not only do they really buy into eating their creations, you’ll be surprised by the yumminess they are able to create. These muffins are delicious hot or cold and the entire family loves them.  You can find more recipes than you could imagine via a web search.  Just remember how important it is to use fresh, organic, real ingredients whenever possible.  
A favorite breakfast meal for our family is 1/2 avocado, egg muffins, and a cup of warm homemade chicken bone broth.  Not only does this give all of us a few minutes to connect and plan our day in the morning, their behavior at home and at school has improved drastically.  No more insulin spikes and dips!
