just started relistening to skyjacks from the top and yall. im so in love with how character secrets are brought up in this show. theres something so magical about how things are just brought up as if the audience already knows but we dont. theyre just like hey. sun has started to go down. the thing that travis does every sundown is happening. and its so casual and familiar and it makes me feel like im in on it too. fuck i love skyjacks
[IMAGE ID’S: four screenshots of episode transcripts of campaign: skyjacks. the first one is from episode 1 and reads:
JPC: Exactly. He’s currently hunched over captain Orimar Vale. Orimar is kind of like sitting there like staring straight forward, he is holding Orimar’s jaw in his hand which has completely separated from, the bottom part of his jaw-
Liz: Wuah.
JPC: -has completely separated from his mouth. Orimar, by the way, looks very much human, looks very much alive but is very much missing his jaw and doesn’t appear to be worried by it. As Gable comes in, Dref turns.
Dref: Don’t worry, I can fix this. This- this will be fine, I, I can fix this.
Gable: What do you mean you can fix it, it’s not attached to his head.
Dref: Yes, um and, and I can explain that.
Gable: What did you do?
Dref: I had to take it off.
the second one is from episode 3 and reads:
JPC: As we are talking, the sun has started to go down.
James: What does it look like, Johnny?
[music begins: soft, mystical, acoustic, slightly eerie]
Johnny: I think it's kind of horrible. You can hear it. It's bone crunching and—
Liz: Ugh!
JPC: Does it hurt?
Johnny: I think, probably, yeah.
Tyler: Every single night.
the third one is from episode 3 and reads:
You raise this dart up. You line it up with the board.
[mystical music begins]
You breathe in; you breathe out; and your eye opens beneath your headband. And in front of you, the divine light of the universe, you can see in this moment. It's not something you can ever voluntarily do, but here, feeling the warmth of the liquor in your belly, the warmth of the woman at your side, and the weight of the dart, everything is connected.
the fourth one is from episode 4 and reads:
Travis: Interesting. Hmm. Of course, it could be nothing. They're just cards, after all.
Gable: You talk a lot, don't you?
Travis: Me?
Gable: Yes.
James: You're looking at each other, now, standing across this war board, and you've got these divination cards between you two. And you also are the only two members of this crew that know about each other, that really know about each other. You don't know in detail, but you have a hint that both of you have been around longer than anyone else would imagine.

The other thing about living vicariously through people blogging about their playthroughs of bg3 is that it really does make the game sound like a dating sim. The most important thing I know about this game is that no matter who you're playing, everyone at the forgotten realms tadpole brain worm party desires you carnally.

Oh, to be working on a research paper for class or a newspaper on the latest therapeutic techniques, innocently asking Dr. Harper to allow you to interview them and explain hypnotherapy to you for your project, if they have time. Of course, they’re so busy, it’s okay if they don’t have time to humor you. But they are a leader in their field, making breakthroughs in the field of hypnotherapy, so you’d be remiss not to at least ask…. You ramble on, while Dr. Harper waits as patiently as a predator stalking its prey, with that charming, professional smile of theirs.
“Of course. Let’s find somewhere more quiet to discuss the merits of hypnosis in more detail, so that you can take accurate notes.”
Harper’s ego is stoked by your interest in their work, of course, but as always their primary concern is power and control over the unsuspecting. Imagine reaching their office, expecting a spirited academic discussion of technique, only to realize they’re trying to lead you into trance instead, insisting the best way to understand hypnosis is to experience it yourself. You awkwardly try to excuse yourself, standing and reaching for the door— only to find it locked, and Harper standing right behind you.

given ashton's specific issues, it's quietly tragic that they don't have someone on team uthodurn to specifically remember them, the way orym and laudna do. fearne goes to the wildmother shrine specifically to reach out to orym, and imogen- well, thoughts of laudna run through everything imogen does. fcg is ostensibly that person, for ashton, but they've known each other for significantly less time than fearne and orym or imogen and laudna, and fcg wasn't emotionally reliant on ashton in the same way. and fcg's had his hands full with meeting frida and all the new feelings coming with that, and maybe it's an intentional reflection of the fact that, as much as they care, fcg is a little self-absorbed, and also still very bad at processing and expressing their feelings.
but when frida asks if they ever had a person like frida has deanna, they mention dancer. which is- fcg was essentially a servant to dancer, she told him what to do. ashton's place in their life is much more parallel to deanna. and i think it makes sense for fcg to mention dancer, given their own issues and belief that someone else has to give them meaning (which is something that could be very interesting to explore in their relationship with frida!!), but. ashton's definitely gonna be worried sick about fcg when we eventually get to team ???, so seeing them apparently occupy fcg's thoughts so little is sad.

I love your unhealthy clingy famous MC you don't understand how feral I'm over him
THANK YOU I LOVE HIM SO DEARLY TOO!!!!! the backstory with absent parents and just. everything about seven... i think makes a lot of infamous ocs potentially lean into this?? or at least there are a ton of choices that just made me go "oh yeah. that's him" . idk there is an element to how infamous is written that really helps with characterising him, including how customisable it is, and i do love that about this IF!!!!! crying about him below the cut <3
aki kind of navigates the world worried his loved ones will leave him and is a little too clingy because of it. he also has been playing those worries off by being charming, flirty and funny. like he can somehow project this hyper-extrovered version of himself and try to make people love that !!! he drops that more around his bandmates/friends, but not in front of people he's just met (please guess who accidentally escalated the bed fight on the tour bus)
aki also hooks up with people a lot, just cause he likes sex but also because he enjoys the no-strings-attached. because of those attachment issues, when he gets something that feels black and white to him, something one-and-done and he leaves in the morning, he can just. take feelings out the equation. he knows its not meant to last so he can just walk out (leave! hit da bricks!!! walk out!!!!!)
committing to a romantic relationship . you can imagine. is a little complicated due to all this LMFAO he just overthinks and worries before even getting into it, regardless of if it's reciprocated or not. between the one time he's actually into someone (seven) and how that ended (...badly) + the fact that deliriously avoiding commiting to anything except hookups = very little (none at all) actual dating experience. aki has no idea to deal with it and will balk. yeah this is immature of him but i have plans to make this guy character develop so hard throughout the course of infamous that he may implode
i love the genre of character where they're just going "i know i have a few issues, who doesn't, but honestly i think i'm well adjusted!!" <- they are not well adjusted. in fact they're worse than they think
also no one asked for the orionmance essay i sent my friend but here it is <3

I do actually think Fearne being infused with the shard of Rau’shan would be genuinely interesting, I’m just having to think it through on my own. Outside of the shipping lens that I’m exclusively seeing from everyone else.
Because I am. For some reason.
Seriously incapable of viewing the Ash&Fearne dynamic as having any sort of genuine substance in an alloromantic sense.
So seeing the potential of it be chalked up to ‘get it because they’re in love’ is. Disappointing.
