Queer Fantasy Books Bracket: Round 1
Book summaries below:
The Dark Artifices series (Lady Midnight, Lord of Shadows, Queen of Air and Darkness) by Cassandra Clare
It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses. Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions… Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it? Glitz, glamours, and Shadowhunters abound in this heartrending opening to Cassandra Clare’s Dark Artifices series. Fantasy, young adult, paranormal, urban fantasy, series
The Knight and the Necromancer series (The Capital, The Border, The Sea) by A.H. Lee
It’s a classic fairytale: Knight meets necromancer. They argue. They fight. They…make out? Prince Roland comes home from the war to bury his father and see his sister on the throne. He sneaks out to his favorite tavern for nostalgia’s sake. It’s the place where he kissed a man for the first time, the place where he used to carouse with the lover he buried on a battlefield. Roland expects to enjoy some anonymity and perhaps flirt with a few strangers for old time’s sake. He does not expect to find a fascinating scholar from out of town—a lonely young man with beautiful eyes and an obvious longing to be touched, buried beneath a prickly demeanor. The man clearly has his secrets, but so does Roland, and their unexpected chemistry makes him feel alive for the first time in months. Roland exerts all his knightly charm and is rewarded by the promise of a second date. He figures he’ll need something to look forward to tomorrow, since he must spend the day in council with his family’s sworn enemy—a necromancer whom his sister has rashly invited to consult about the war. Sairis is a necromancer with a price on his head. He knows that he will have to bargain for his life tomorrow. He’s never been this far from his tower. He’s good with magic, not people. He’s frightened, although he doesn’t want to admit it. Sairis knows he’s doing something foolish by visiting a tavern the evening before his meeting with the royals—a tavern that caters to men of certain tastes. But Sairis wants things. Things a hunted outlaw can never have. He tells himself that he’ll just watch—see what ordinary people enjoy every day. Sairis is confident in his ability to intimidate anyone who comes too close. He’s shocked when a dazzling mountain of a man is not intimidated in the slightest. Sairis knows a knight when he sees one. He has killed plenty of knights. But this knight is funny and kind. Sairis finds his defenses melting in spite of his best efforts. Maybe he could go on a second date with this person. Of course, he’ll have to get through tomorrow first…when he must bargain with the hated royals who have persecuted him all his life. Fantasy, romance, secondary world, series

Questions for Tami
How many books have you written?
This is a fair question. Any new reader who finds my work on a store isn’t going to immediately know that I have other pennames, or that I frequently publish short stories in magazines. The reader who stumbles over my fanfiction on AO3 isn’t going to know I have flash fiction on Tumblr or even a website.
To keep track of all my work, I have a spreadsheet that notes the title, what penname, when I finished it, how long it is, and where I’ve first published it. It has more details, but the important part is I can open that spreadsheet and scroll down and down and tell you…
I have written 116 things.
These things are a mix of novels, novellas, and short stories. They don’t include my fanfiction or flash fiction. Most of these things are available for purchase—although a few are on submission or just waiting in line to be published.
It has been on my to-do list for some time to make a complete reading list available for download on the website and I just haven’t gotten to it yet. Now is as good a time as any, right? Here’s a list: https://www.tamiveldura.com/biblio/

“A Christmas Wedding”: Sequel to “Secret Santa”
A/N: This is a sequel to my Advent 2016 story, Secret Santa, where Regina received mysterious gifts until learning they were from her best friend and the man she secretly loved, Robin. Let’s see how those two crazy kids and their kids are doing…
Most brides probably would’ve panicked upon waking up to snow on their wedding day. When one got married on Christmas Eve, though, it was a welcome sight. It added to the magic of the day, creating the perfect backdrop for the happy couple to exchange vows.
At least, that was what Regina Mills thought as she stared out the window at the white snow blanketing the ground as more fell from the gray sky overhead. She watched the flakes dance around in the wind as she sat in a room at Prentiss Manor, an elegant mansion in Storybrooke and a historic site mostly used for grand events like her wedding. Even through the closed door, she could hear the string quartet playing to accompany their wedding party down the aisle.
It was almost time.
“You excited, Mom?” Henry asked her. She turned to face her son, who was standing behind her in the room. Almost thirteen, he looked very grown up w in his black tuxedo and silver cummerbund with a white rose pinned to his lapel. His brown hair was gelled back and she knew it was probably a look he was going to adopt as he headed into his teen years. It wasn’t a bad one…it was just another reminder that he wasn’t her little boy anymore.
Today, though, wasn’t a day to be melancholy about the past. It was a day to be happy, to celebrate the present and look forward to the future. Even if it meant one with a teenager. Because it also meant one with a bigger family and a home full of love.
“I am,” she said, taking his hand. “How about you?”
He smiled, nodded. “We’ve been a family with Robin and Roland for so long, I know this is just a formality but it still feels exciting.”
She wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. “It is exciting. This isn’t just a formality. This is a celebration of the fact we’re a family. So let’s celebrate.”
“Okay, Mom,” he said, hugging her back. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she replied, holding him close a little bit longer.
They then pulled apart as the door opened. Tink, her assistant even on her wedding day, smiled at them. “We’re ready for you.”
Regina nodded, smoothing down her skirt. The soft white organza material went down to her ankles, leaving her silver heels visible. She had debated wearing white again as it was her second marriage but once she stepped into the bridal boutique, she knew she wanted to wear it. It would symbolize their fresh start.
Her dress had a narrow A-line skirt with a sweetheart bodice. Sparkly silver snowflakes were embroidered into the bodice, adding to the winter feel. Regina paired it with a white faux-fur half-cape that wrapped around her shoulders and upper arms, held closed by a rhinestone encrusted clasp that rested just below her neck. Her dark curls were loose, falling around her shoulders, and a few pieces were pulled away from her face, pinned in the back by the jeweled clip of her tulle veil. It went to her midback—she didn’t need anything too long. As she had stared at herself in the mirror that morning, she thought she was the perfect Christmas bride.
“You look beautiful, Regina,” Tink said, beaming at her. “Robin’s mouth is going to hit the floor when he sees you.”
“Then it’ll be a normal morning,” Henry quipped, making Regina laugh. Robin told her she was beautiful every day, even when she didn’t feel particularly beautiful. It was one of the many things she loved about him.
Tink chuckled as well, leading them out and toward the door that would let them into the room where the ceremony was being held. “I’ll go signal the band to start the bridal march and then you can head up to your handsome future husband.”
She threw open the door as Henry held out his arm to his mother. “Here we go.”
“Thank you for walking me down the aisle,” she said, kissing his cheek.
He grinned. “You named me after Grandpa. Since he can’t be here, I felt it was only right I do the honors.”
The bridal march started up and Regina tightened her grip on Henry’s arm as well as her bouquet of white and red roses. She took a deep breath as they moved forward. It was really happening—she was about to become Robin Locksley’s wife.
She wished she had a time machine so she could go back in time to tell her past self that the new Department of Environmental Protection agent that had just arrived in town would one day be her husband. Regina could just picture the look on her face—a mixture of surprise, disgust and horror. She and Robin certainly had had a rough start. They overcame it though and soon became good friends, doing everything together with their two sons. As time went on, their friendship blossomed into something more...though both were hesitant to make the first move.
In the end, it had been Robin who did it. He had come up with an elaborate Secret Santa plan, leaving her gifts throughout the holiday season with the intention of professing his love to her on Christmas Eve. She had figured out it was him easily enough and their friends guessed what his end goal was, though she had doubted them. Especially as she had mistaken Robin’s partnership with local librarian Belle French as being romantic. She had been brokenhearted until Robin had surprised her with a romantic dinner, finally confessing his feelings for her.
They easily transitioned from friends to lovers, their relationship only growing stronger once it became romantic. She enjoyed being with him, whether they were out on dates or just spending a quiet evening at home with their boys. Robin had acted like a father toward Henry almost from the moment they had met and she had always treated Roland like he was her own son. The two boys acted more like brothers than friends, so they didn’t have to really blend their families into one—they had already done that. When the Locksley men moved into her house, it only caused a few hiccups. Otherwise, it was another thing that came naturally.
Marriage also felt like the natural next step in their relationship. Though she knew that there would be some difficult logistics to navigate, she and Robin knew they had to marry on Christmas Eve. It held too much significance for them, even if he had to confess his love to her before Christmas. Robin and Roland had moved in the following Christmas Eve, which was also when he had gotten down on one knee in front of their boys and Christmas tree, asking her to marry him. She had said yes without hesitation.
Robin came into view as she grew closer the arch of roses where they would exchange their vows. Like Henry, he wore a black tuxedo with a silver cummerbund, a white rose pinned to his lapel. His groomsmen—David, Killian, Will and John—all wore the same as did Roland, now almost eight, who held their rings on a white pillow. His dark curls were as wild as ever, which was just what she wanted.
She then glanced over at her bridal party. Ruby, Emma, Mal and Mary Margaret stood on her side of the gazebo dressed in silver satin gowns. Their dresses had long lacy sleeves but they also wore matching faux fur-lined capes around their shoulders as well. Ruby, Emma and Mal all held bouquets of white roses while Mary Margaret held their flower girl.
Regina had gotten a very surprising birthday present earlier that year when Dr. Whale had called with the results from her annual physical. Her bloodwork revealed she was pregnant. She and Robin had consummated their engagement once the boys had gone to bed and it appeared that was when she had conceived. Robin had been over the moon when she told him the good news, picking her up and spinning her around as he repeated how much he loved her. They had considered postponing the wedding as her due date was in October, but she felt confident they would be ready by Christmas Eve.
Their Natalia, though, had decided to come in September instead. Though born a few weeks ahead of schedule, she was considered full term and had been healthy and strong. She completed their family and her brothers were especially protective of her. It was sweet to watch Henry and Roland take care of her as well as entertain her.
Natalia slept in Mary Margaret’s arms, her little white pacifier bouncing every so often. It matched her dress, which had a poofy skirt that matched Regina’s. One little hand was clasped around a piece of organza while the other gripped Mary Margaret’s cloak. Her light brown curls were held back by a white headband that had little silk flowers attached to it. She looked so sweet and beautiful, it almost brought tears to Regina’s eyes.
Regina and Henry reached the arch and Robin. He reached his hand out to shake Henry’s hand but the boy threw his arms around him instead, hugging him tightly. Robin hugged him back, cupping the back of his head. “I love you,” he whispered.
Love you too,” Henry whispered back. “Be good to my mom.”
“Always,” Robin promised.
Henry let him go and kissed his mother’s cheek before heading up to join the other groomsmen. Robin took Regina’s hand, smiling at her. “You look beautiful.”
“You don’t look so bad yourself,” she told him, handing her bouquet to Tink. Her assistant stepped back, tears already in her eyes as she watched Robin lead Regina up to where Tuck stood.
“Friends,” he said, starting the ceremony, “let me be the first to say this to you—Merry Christmas.”

13th King of Portugal (4th of the Aviz Dynasty): King João II of Portugal, “The Perfect Prince”
Reign: 28 August 1481 – 25 October 1495 Acclamation: 31 August 1481 Predecessor: Afonso V
João II (3 March 1455 – 25 October 1495), called the Perfect Prince (o Príncipe Perfeito), was King of Portugal from 1481 until his death in 1495, and also for a brief time in 1477. He is known for re-establishing the power of the Portuguese monarchy, reinvigorating the Portuguese economy, and renewing his country's exploration of Africa and the Orient.
Born in Lisbon, the son of King Afonso V of Portugal by his wife, Isabel of Coimbra, João II succeeded his father as ruler of Portugal in 1477, when the king retired to a monastery, but only became king in 1481, after the death of his father and predecessor.
As a prince, João II accompanied his father in the campaigns in northern Africa and was made a knight after the victory in the Conquest of Arzila in 1471.
In 1473, he married Leonor of Viseu, an infanta of Portugal and his first cousin.
Even at a young age, João was not popular among the peers of the kingdom since he was immune to external influence and appeared to despise intrigue. The nobles (including particularly his half second cousin Fernando II, the Duke of Bragança)
were afraid of his future policies as king.
After his official accession to the throne in 1481, João II took a series of measures to curtail the power of the Portuguese aristocracy and concentrate power in himself. As one of example of the measure he took, he deprived the nobles of their right to administer justice on their estates. Immediately, the nobles started to conspire. Letters of complaint and pleas to intervene were exchanged between the Duke of Bragança and Queen Isabel I of Castile.
King João took the precaution of renegotiating the "Tercerias de Moura" agreement to insure that his son Afonso was living safely back at court before he would move against Bragança, the most powerful noble in the realm (the original agreement called for Afonso to live in Moura, Portugal, with his intended Spanish bride, Isabel, Princess of Asturias, as children before their marriage).
In 1483, additional correspondence was intercepted by royal spies. The House of Bragança was outlawed, their lands confiscated and the duke executed in Évora. The Duke's widow, Isabel of Viseu,
João's cousin and sister-in-law, fled with her children to Castile.
In the following year, the Duke of Viseu, João's cousin and brother-in-law, was summoned to the palace and stabbed to death by the king himself for suspicion of a new conspiracy. Many other people were executed, murdered, or exiled to Castile, including the Bishop of Évora, who was poisoned in prison. Following the crackdown, no one in the country dared to defy the king and João saw no further conspiracies during his reign. A great confiscation of estates followed and enriched the crown, which now became the dominant power of the realm.
Facing a bankrupt kingdom, João II showed the initiative to solve the situation by creating a regime in which a Council of Scholars took a vital role. The king conducted a search of the population and selected members for the Council on the basis of their abilities, talents and credentials (Meritocracy). João's exploration policies (see below) also paid great dividends. Such was the profit coming from João II's investments in the overseas explorations and expansion that the Portuguese currency had become the soundest in Europe. The kingdom could finally collect taxes for its own use rather than to pay debts, mainly thanks to its main gold source at that time, the coast of Guinea.
João II famously restored the policies of Atlantic exploration, reviving the work of his great-uncle, Henrique the Navigator.
The Portuguese explorations were his main priority in government. Portuguese explorers pushed south along the known coast of Africa with the purpose of discovering the maritime route to India and breaking into the spice trade. During his reign, the following achievements were realized:
1482 – Foundation of the coastal fortress and trade post of São Jorge da Mina
1484 – Discovery of the Congo River by Diogo Cão.
1488 – Discovery and passage of the Cape of Good Hope by Bartolomeu Dias in Mossel Bay.
1493 – Start of the settlement of the São Tomé and Príncipe islands by Álvaro Caminha.
Funding of land expeditions by Afonso de Paiva and Pêro da Covilhã
to India and Ethiopia in search of the kingdom of Prester John.
The true extent of Portuguese explorations has been the subject of academic debate. According to one theory, some navigations were kept secret for fear of competition by neighbouring Castile. The archives of this period were mainly destroyed in the fire after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake,
and what was not destroyed during the earthquake was either stolen or destroyed during the Peninsular War or otherwise lost.
When Columbus returned from his first voyage early in 1493, he first stopped in Lisbon and had some meetings in secret with King João II. Thinking that they had reached India, (something that King João and Columbus had planned for a long time) Spain quickly hastened to the negotiating table, which took place in a small Spanish town named Tordesillas. A papal representative was present to act as mediator. The result of this meeting would be the famous Treaty of Tordesillas,
which sought to divide all newly discovered lands in the New World between Spain and Portugal. Just like King João wanted, the real India was under Portuguese territory, but he also asked 370 miles west of the first line that separate Spanish territory from the Portuguese territory. King João II already knew there was land on the west. Not knowing anything bout the globe and navigations, the Spanish Monarchs agreed. What they didn’t know was that the new line put another land over Portuguese territory: BRASIL!! With a master plan King João II and his ally and secret agent Christopher Colon, were able to fool the Spanish King and Queen, showing that the Portuguese Kings were way ahead and way smarter than the Spanish Kings.
João II died at Alvor at age 40 without legitimate children. Given the hatred that the Portuguese nobility always had for him, the possibility of poisoning by a glass of water he drank is not to be excluded. Before he died, João II chose Manuel de Viseu, duke of Beja, his right cousin and brother-in-law (he was the brother of Queen Leonor) for successor.
Queen Isabel, the Catholic, of Castile, at the time of her death, said "Murió el Hombre!", Referring to the Portuguese monarch as ”The Man”, due to the positions of strength that he had assumed during his reign.
He was given the nickname the Perfect Prince because it was thanks to the measures he implemented that the value of his work emerged triumphant, that is, the golden age of Portugal.
It lies in the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, in Batalha.
At the time of his death in Alvor (Portimão), he had been buried in the Sé de Silves
but in 1499 his remains were exhumed and moved to his current burial place, inside the Founder’s Chapel, between his parents and his son.
As a way of thanking the city of Silves for having welcomed the monarch's remains, it is believed that D. Manuel I ordered the so-called Cruz de Portugal, (Portugal’s Cross),
a national heritage site since 1910.
In popular culture King João II was portrayed by:
In the TV series Christopher Columbus (1985)
he is played by Max von Sydow.
In the film Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992)
he is played by Mathieu Carrière.
He appears in Civilization IV (as João II), leading the Portuguese.
In the TV series Isabel
played by Álvaro Monje
Marriage and descendants:
By Leonor of Viseu (2 May 1458 – 17 November 1525; married in January 1471):
Boy that at childbirth
Infante Afonso (18 May 1475 - 13 July 1491) Prince of Portugal. Died in a horse riding accident. Because of the premature death of the prince the throne was inherited by Manuel of Viseu, Duke of Beja, son of Fernando, Duke of Viseu, who reigned as Manuel I, 14th King of Portugal.
By Ana de Mendonça (1460 - ?)

Ah! Many apologies for assuming you celebrated Christmas (or just Christmas)! Happy Hanukkah!! I’m hoping it’s been a good one so far for you?? And your week is going well?? Also, before we get too deep into things, probably should establish what exactly you might be looking for in your gift?? Anything you absolutely know you must have in it to make it just perfect?? ~Santa
Oh no worries! We are doing a secret *Santa*, it's reasonable to think of Christmas first! It has been good! My parents got me several Audible credits 😈 even though the last thing I need is more on my audiobook tbr. I have a three-digit number of unread audiobooks already! But I can't stop won't stop.
That is a GREAT question. I enjoy a pretty big variety of fics (although almost exclusively OUaT), so honestly I'll probably love whatever! I'll say T is good, M is also ok, but I probably don't need anything E. Ahaha honestly I'm not too choosy--canon, AU--modern world, FTL--all good. I like Captain Cobra a lot, but AUs where Henry didn't get born are also fun! K being a good father is adorbs.
Oh! Yeah! Probably fics rather than art maybe. Forgot that was even an option. I like looking at fanart, but it's not my primary method of consumption.
My only real requirement is a HEA, but I guess I like when there's some... D: beforehand. That is intended as a distressed emoticon, not like, the letter D. Just realized that could mean other things.
I'm really trying to think of anything I tend to like/dislike hahaha. I guess I'm not HUGE into supernatural stuff other than canon magic-type. Like Halloween-type stuff tends to not be as appealing to me, although there's several I've enjoyed.
I do really like anything with the rest of the family. Her parents, etc. You know what I wish you saw more of in CS fics? Background Outlaw Queen.
AND HERE WAS ME WORRYING I WOULDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TO SAY. Nah but seriously, I'm sure I'd like whatever you choose to write, I'm just throwing out ideas to see if anything inspires you. You definitely don't have to use all/any! The only thing I actually need is an HEA of some kind.

Fandom Crescendo--First Snowfall of Winter
@scribblecat27 had a brilliant idea about how to celebrate our otp leading up to the finale–the fandom crescendo, where content creators “rerelease” their works of art and fiction through the years. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting all 44 of my Captain Swan (and my 1 Outlaw Queen) fics. My fics will be posted largely in chronological order of when I published them, with Fluffy Fridays finishing it out. (I’ll post the date written so you’ll have context of when the fic was written in relation to what was going on in canon at the time.) If you like them, I won’t be upset if you send a review/comment my way, lol. Enjoy!
*I know these are all old works, and I don’t want to clog up people’s mentions, so let me know if you want to be tagged, otherwise I’ll leave you in peace, lol.*
Title: First Snowfall of Winter (ff.net) (ao3)
Rating: K+
Words: 3858 (1 chapter)
Summary: This story was written for my CS Secret Santa giftee two years ago. As I was going through my old Christmas fics, I realized that this was never posted on it's own, so here you go! It's a Lieutenant Duckling story about best friends Princess Emma of Misthaven and stable boy Killian Jones and their tradition of always spending the day of the first snowfall of the year together.

The Queen of Wolves
I was not involved in the secret Santa but I saw @pandachanda ‘s wish list which brought out the creative in me. To the extent that I made an entire new sideblog so that I can keep all my Jonrya stuff in one place.
Original prompt: “A jealous Jon dealing with Arya’s admirers” (I wanted to start here but it turned into something else from Arya’s POV)
She sat at the feast hall amongst the newcomers. Jon’s Freefolk, and her band of outlaw that had risen north with her. Almost everyone around her had drunk as much as they could stomach, some were determined to push their limits. She could not and instead held the same horn of ale in one hand while petting Ghost’s head with the other as he peacefully slept on her lap.
Laughter and japes filled the room, soft giggles escaped her at some of the jokes she heard. Jon’s eccentric friend Tormund started to sing bawdy songs in the old tongue, of men stealing spearwives. Soon his friend a man with a large scar running down his cheek took over the singling, plucking his small psaltery. He sung of an old bard from beyond the wall, who stole a Stark lord’s daughter and left a winter rose upon her bed. His milky blue eyes peered into her soul once he finished.
“Does a southern girl like you know any songs?” holding out the instrument to her. It was a challenge, he met to offend her by claiming her to be southern.
A soft smile graced her face, this was not a game she intended to lose. Laying down her horn for the first time she removed her hand from Ghost’s head and she reached for the psaltery. The direwolf seemed to notice the loss of her touch as he whined softly rubbing his furry cheek against her knees in search of her warm hands before settling down again.
“Aye. I do, I learnt a great many songs in Braavos” she plucked the string’s thinking of the light airy tune the Merling Queen taught her and soon she began to sing, her voice soft a sweet filled the room, as everyone’s attention settled upon her. It was a joyful song, bawdy and lewd, not that any of them would understand, they did not speak the tongue. The smile on her face quickly became sly and impish in nature as she caught the eye of Jon. He had just entered again after slipping out quietly earlier, her hert grew warm when their eyes met, as though a drop of sunlight fell from the sky and settled within her soul. She sang the next verse, the song was about forbidden love and the heat filled moments of fulfilment the lovers found in the dark away from prying eyes. All the hall looked at her with adoration in their eyes, for the girl who rode into battle upon a direwolf, the woman who looked every bit as lovely as her legendary aunt. The unassuming girl who sang so sweetly at dinner. The Winter Rose, The She-wolf of Winterfell. Their fierce Queen of Wolves. The song came to an end her voice quietening as the strings she plucked echoed their last notes around the hall.
Once the room grew silent they started to shower her with complements. They thought her voice beautiful, the song enchanting. Arya Horseface could not sing like this, she could not capture the hearts of men the way I have captured yours.
“The song, what was it about” Tormund scratched his beard, bits of chicken falling out and onto the table as he gazed past her no doubt eyeing Brienne who sat amongst the rest of the Brotherhood.
“Nothing much. Just an innocent song of a woman taking her lover, and the way his eyes hood over as he writhes beneath her in pleasure” chokes were the next sound that filled the room, cheeks flushed various shades of red and Arya once more looked to Jon who had now taken his seat two tables down, his cup was raised to his lips and he seemed unable to move. Does your mind conjure up the images I want it to big brother? The men were shocked and soon they guffawed at her audacity. She leaned forwards returning the unnamed freefolk bard his instrument and resumed running her hands through Ghost’s fur.
“Where’d a fancy lass like you learn a song like that?” a young man with pale hair peered over at her.
“In the company of Braavos’ courtesans” she could practically hear Jon’s eyes twitch at the thought of his little sister being a courtesan.
“Ha. You must have at least hundred guards stationed around your sister’s room King Crow! If you don’t one of us may try to make a spearwife out o’her. I’ve seen her with a blade, any man can get strong pups on his one I am sure” they laughed and looked over at her, no doubt thinking of what they would gain from stealing her as Bael did the old Stark lord’s daughter. You can never give me wolf pups, you are no direwolves.
“There will be no guards stationed outside her room. I can assure you all any man who tries to steal her will end up tongueless eunuchs, if not by her hands than mine” Ghost suddenly awoke leaping from the floor, taking the comforting weight of his head from her lap. Once he stood upon the table he walked around it, avoiding the food, but happily kicking over horns of ale onto men’s laps. He looked each man in the eyes with his burning red orbs a bared his teeth his master’s emotion clear. Ghost stood still once he reached where an unassuming dark haired bastard sat, his chest rumbled with enough force that it could be heard. Arya stood from her seat and glided two tables down to where Jon was.
Will you claim me brother, the same way Ghost did Nymeria. She sat beside him and engaged in friendly conversation with Lord Davos, she liked the old man, his white hairs and soft eyes comforted her. Despite all the hell she survived she felt as though she still had a kindly old patriarch bestowing her with fatherly love. A ungloved hand gripped her’s under the table and a far less agitated Ghost made his way down the hall towards her, laying his head on her lap once more as he drifted off into slumber. You loved me when I was Arya Underfoot, Lord Stark’s ugly daughter and now I am as beautiful as the maiden herself. I loved you when you were a powerless bastard and now you’re the King of Winter. I don’t care for their attention brother. Claim me like the wolf you are. We already are one soul and one heart. Ghost and Nymeria have already made us one flesh, claim me as I claim you. She gripped his hand tighter and stroked Ghost’s ear, Hoping. Praying, that Jon heard her. His thumb moved softly, rubbing circles around her scarred knuckles.
Let us be a King of winter and his Queen of Wolves
Well…I hope you liked that.

Hello. Now, I don't know what you plan on doing for any of your fanfics when this Christmas season comes, but I have an idea you could do as a flash-forward for one of your fanfics and here it is: Now, it revolves around your one-shot story Secret Santa and how Regina and Robin have been ever since they got together last Christmas and over the last year, they wound up getting engaged and learned that they would have a baby girl come Christmas. So, let me know what you think of this! Goodbye!
Right now, it looks like the story I meant for last Christmas might be this Christmas’ story since it’s taking me freakin’ forever to write it.
I am totally planning a one shot that will revisit Secret Santa, so you will get to see how Robin and Regina are doing now that they are together and what the future holds for them.
Thank you so much for asking about it! I’m glad you like Secret Santa! (I do too).
