The desert stretched out before you, a wasteland of dust and burning skies. You were new to this ungodly small town, the kind of place where secrets clung to the air like heat. You were the new nurse, someone not used to the rough and rugged ways of the people here, but when he came to your doorstep one night, bloodied and silent, you found yourself drawn to the danger he carried like a second skin.

That’s how you met him—Simon Riley, the outlaw they called Ghost. His presence was a storm on the horizon, silent but threatening.

He was a shadow in a black hat, his scarred face obscured by a black bandana, his hazel eyes the only thing visible beneath the brim. You’d heard rumours of his quick draw, his ruthless reputation, his criminal history, but something in his gaze softened when it settled on you.

And when his gloved hand brushed the bare skin of your wrist as you patched him up, a spark of something unspoken flickered in the quiet of your room. His voice was low, a gruff murmur as he asked, “You ever get tired of this life, darlin’?”

The oil lamp painted scary shadows on his face, yet you held his gaze when you looked up at him. The tension between you hung thick as the desert air, and though you knew for certain that he was trouble, you couldn’t help the pull you felt toward him. You weren’t sure if it was danger or desire, but you knew one thing.

Whatever Ghost wanted, he usually took.

"Katara was forced to be a child soldier, let her choose ✨ peace ✨ in adulthood 🥺" is probably the corniest response to criticism of how her character was handled after the original series

like im sorry but if you think Katara "I will never turn my back on people who need me", Katara "I want to fight", Katara who incited a prison riot and rallied others to fight, Katara who continuously reached out to people in need even when the others were telling her not to because they didn't have the time, Katara who didn't actually have to leave the Southern Water Tribe in the first place but was the one that propelled both her and Sokka to do so (and thus propelled the entire original series imo), would grow into an adult that is content with being on the sidelines ???? lol
