Thoughts on Got7's new single?
I know you asked just about Python, but honestly here’s just my thoughts on Winter Heptagon. I’ll be honest, I’ve literally fallen into a GOT7 rabbit hole, so I have a lot of thoughts and feelings and I straight up think I would die for any of the members, I mean it.
(Which like, haha, so where do y'all recommend buying albums from? Cause like I googled it and then got overwhelmed, please help this almost 30-year-old woman figure it out. Somehow writing a trial brief was easier to figure out than figuring out where to get K-pop albums reliably)
Python: It’s literally iconic??? When I tell you that this song is literally constantly playing and on repeat, I mean it. It’s literally my go-to hype song when I’m in the gym, it’s playing in my car constantly. My husband is tired of hearing it. My boss is tired of hearing it. I do not care, it’s going to continue being on repeat. I have no sense of rhythm, but it genuinely makes me want to learn how to move my body without hurting myself. Certified bop.
Smooth: It's probably one of my least favorites because it feels a bit repetitive, but like still easily a certified bop, and like, guys, Jackson sounds so good. Literally arrest that man, because what the fuck.
Our youth: It's like a warm hug, and I love it so much. It's easily one of my favorites, and like guys, Youngjae sounds so fucking good, and holy shit Yugeyeom could literally read a Costco receipt and I would have nothing but heart eyes for him. He is precious.
Remember: This one serves cunt, but high fashion cunt. It's literally like a nice bowl of warm soup, I love it. Honestly, it's a huge toss-up between Remember and Tidal wave for my favorites. I think I could listen to Remember on repeat for hours and I wouldn't complain.
Darling: I need my husband to love me the way that I love Darling. It's similar to Her in the same sense that like, damn, they really are out here setting the bar for the girlies. 10/10, I am on my knees begging.
Tidal wave: Probably my absolute favorite of the whole album. I will listen to this on repeat, because something about it just hits the spot for me. I will literally flip through every single song to get to tidal wave. I just love it, so much. Easily one of my favorite songs to just exist at the moment.
Out the door: So, fun fact, when I was younger, I was SUPER into One Direction, right? Anyways, Out the door brought some weird nostalgic feelings inside of me of the simpler times when I was a young Ghoul, loving One Direction. 10/10, I am in love with the man that Mark Tuan is for creating this.
Her: BRO, literally I could divorce my husband and marry this song?? Jinyoung really said I'm going to give the girlies something to go feral over, in a romantic way. He is Romance, he was made for the female gaze. Like, I'm sorry, you were still within reach, that means your breath still lingers? I'm pissed at my husband, cause he will never be able to do anything close to giving me the feelings Her did the first time I listened to it.
Yours, truly: I mean this from the bottom of my barely beating heart, I love them. It's super obvious that they love working together, love getting to be together, and being GOT7, right? This one feels like an absolute love letter to everyone who supports them, and continues to support them. It's touching, I love it.

Hii Vee! Favourite song from Winter Heptagon? or your top 3 👀💓
GIRL I’m glad you asked cause
Tumblr media
nah fr but Python and Out The Door I have on repeat. The rest are all so good, you can clearly tell who composed each song. Smooth is kinda groovy and gets me into an easy listening mode. Tidal Wave remind me of a past love and I’m not sure how I feel about that…
I got both albums from ktown4u and they should get in the mail tomorrow. I wish I still had my cd players from the 2000s so I could listen to the tracks directly from their physical form and transcend
What about you? What’s your favorite track? 😘💕

(sees your post) well if that's the case, I gotta ask: what are your favourite songs from the new album, and/or the ones that you would recommend to someone new to got7?
(this is my invitation to hear you go on a got7 tangent)
okay THANK YOU for this invitation because i would love nothing more than to info dump <3
part one: the new album
what makes winter heptagon so special is that it's the first got7 album produced after all the members have spent time promoting as soloists. their solo careers have given them an opportunity to grow their individual sounds and feature their talents in ways that don't always take center stage in their group promotions. (a side note to say that it's been my pleasure and surprise to find that bambam is the member who's solo music i gravitate towards the most. he spent most of 2014-17 making self-deprecating comments about his singing voice and insisting that rap was his real strength, but he's put in so much time and effort toward vocal training and it SHOWS.) but the new album features songs written/produced by each individual member:
python - bambam
smooth - jackson
our youth - youngjae (ars)
remember - yugyeom
darling - jay b (def.)
tidal wave - bambam
out the door - mark
her - jinyoung
yours truly, - got7 (everyone <3)
of these, my favorites are python, tidal wave, out the door, and darling (but they're all good!!)
part two: my essential got7 playlist for baby aghase
got7 have been promoting as a group for 11 years, and soloists for the last several, but in addition, they have 2 official subunits: jj project (jay b and jinyoung who actually debuted before got7) and jus2 (jayb and yugyeom)
title tracks
you calling my name
not by the moon
nanana
lullabye
you are
my favorite subunit tracks
내일,오늘 (tomorrow, today) - jj project
on&on - jj project
find you - jj project
focus on me - jus2
long black - jus2
touch - jus2
