So Ep.1 of Our Skyy 2 ended with the following, and it's not an advertising blurb for Yamaha Fazzio motorcycles:

This moment is Director Jojo Tichakorn continuing Never Let Me Go's tradition of ending every episode with a slogan or saying.

The idea of fighting for your love, no matter the setting, is especially applicable in the context of Palm and Nueng's supernatural time-travel to a previous era in Thailand's history.

But this onscreen slogan rings with additional significance when we listen to the mysterious wise man's words at Ep.1 [4/4] 2.51:

He says there: "I don’t know how to help you. You are two men dating each other. That’s already hard enough. Even though one of you is a nobleman, your love is impossible in this lifetime. You always have to hide your relationship. It’s impossible for you to get married and start a family. You need to be reborn. Things may be better at that time."

With this, Director Jojo is trumpeting the message – as the LGBTQ+ community in Thailand fights on for marriage equality – that maintaining the status quo for queer relationships simply condemns people to suffer the same outdated social strictures from hundreds of years ago.

He's basically saying – "The past is the past. So much else has modernized in Thai society. Isn't it time we moved forward on this as well?"

This part here where Palm lifts his head as Neung is falling on him to kiss him? 100% intentional.

Palm definitely knew what was coming, but if that really wasn't his Neung, he might move his head away at the last second. Or he knew that realistically, the kiss would just be awkward if Neung just fell on top of him. So my guy Palm, whipped as he is, was not taking ANY chances, and said "No, I'm GONNA kiss my boyfriend" and hence why there was the little head lift to kiss him before Neung had the chance to catch himself properly.

(Or uk, Palm was just being Palm and had no thoughts, just "my boyfriend's lips are there, so I will kiss them." Still very in character in my opinion.)

Usually, this sort of scene that plays out in other romantic dramas, where the leads have an accidental kiss, can be seen as sort of cheesy or cliche. I think P'Jojo knows this, and was like "nope, not doing this today". (I mean, he did also mock the outdated "wife" trope old BLs liked to use, so it's totally possible that he switched up the cliché accidental kiss scene too)
