I’m not necessarily saying Caroline & Tyler are my “otp” (kill the idea of “otps” in general tbh I’m horny I love a good story & im here for all the different ships at different times in a story ok bitch) but I am taken tf out by the sheer horniness of their first hook up every single time like. They are ravenous for each other. however. every single time I watch it I’m also reminded how fucking scared I was that Caroline was gonna die the first time I saw it 😭 like I don’t think in retrospect that was the intended audience reception but I hated Rose with my entire soul & still remembered how goddamn brutal her death was & did NOT want that for my best friend Caroline & all I kept thinking was “Tyler is a werewolf she’s a vampire that’s hot & all but ALSO what if Tyler’s teeth graze her during sex 😭”

Emhyr

How I feel about this character: That is a complicated one. When I began reading the books I felt that for a man antagonist, he wasn't developed enough, his motivations remained unclear, and I always felt like the author was torn between writing him as a dangerous Roman Emperor, or the parody of an incompetent 18th century ruler. it alternated. The "reveal" at the end of Lady of the Lake... felt cheap to me. It was something I wish the author had built up to better - allowing the reader to know things Geralt doesn't.

I must also say that during reading I quickly came to dislike the northern patriotism and how the author made the North the good guys fighting for their freedom, while they were just a mess all the time. It made me interessted in Nilfgaard, because they were definitely the more civilised side of things.

Then the games came, and what can I say? Charles Dance! That voice! There were also aspects of Emhyr's arc in TW3 that I found fascinating, which led me to re-read a lot of his material in the books, and notice the gaps.

What was done to him during the Uprising?

How did he survive all those years (and nope, I do not believe in 15 years in a cave, or more!)?

How was he that smart, highly educated person, if his formal education had been cut short at 13?

How had those traumata affected him?

I had a few fragments about it in my head, before that one scene jumped into my mind: Duny meeting Eskel in the werewolf forest, and the story grew from there.

So now I can say: I like Emhyr. I like his prickly character, I like him being ruthless at times, I like him being the smartest person in the room and being a total ass about it. I see him as a man with flaws, strengths and a wounded heart, which he hides well.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Eskel, potentially Vesemir or Erland, several OCs (Lux,) potentially other Witchers.

Eskel/Emhyr - that was a pairing that wandered in my head, and I love it. Emhyr, smart, political savvy, somewhat ruthless, and Eskel, steadfast, goodnatured Eskel, it was either a catastrophe or the romance of their lives. I chose the latter.

Emhyr/Duny and one from the older Witcher generation: my guilty pleasure that I still want to write full-length

Emhyr/Duny and other Witchers: I see so many potential pairings and stories there. Be it Duny/Letho, or Duny/Aiden - the Prince and the Assassin, I wouldn't bet on the life of the Usurper.

Emhyr/Impera - those who know me, know I wrote several pieces about Emhyr's (non] romance with the captain of his personal guard. I still have fun with that pairing, and will potentially write more of it. I like the contrast in character, the power imbalance, and Emhyr's secret weakness for affection.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Again i have to slip one of my OC's in: Aeron. Aeron's arc with Emhyr is complicated, from the young soldier who saved the Crown Prince's life, when the Prince was 9, and got assigned to the Prince's personal guard, over Aeron trying to save Emhyr in the night of the Revolution and ultimately failing. Over Emhyr encountering Aryn 25 years later, a leader among the rebellion against the Usurper of whom no one knows any more that he once was Impera. To General Aeron who rebuilt Impera for Emhyr. The fun thing is: if anyone told them they were friends, they'd both deny it. There is no friendship between an Emperor and his officers - but when it comes down it, it is exactly that.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He's the most interessting character in the story, much more interessting than the "main" characters.

Ah yes, and I cheered for in-game Emhyr conquering the North.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I wish that his motivations had been built up better, and not like the weird stuff we got in Stygga. Nothing in the prophecy fits with what Emhyr claims it does, nothing there makes sense at all. I wish either the author would have given us the logical progression of Emhyr's quest, with insights into the prophecies and how Emhyr reads them, or the author would simply have stopped the cheap: everyone wants to fuck Ciri trope.

The other thing I wish that the author had taken the time in Stygga to explore Emhyr's change of heart. I still think that either Emhyr came within milimeters of reaching his goal, and had to realise that there are things even he can't do, or that someone confronted him about it, and made him see the monstrosity of his plan. Both would work. Instead we get the next half-baked cop-out. I do understand why the authors of TW3 simply retconned that part. (I sometimes consider the story of Stygga simply as northern propaganda)

Eskel

How I feel about this character: I love him. Eskel was the Witcher that stood out to me from the moment Geralt&Ciri arrived in Kaer Morhen, and Ciri got frightened because of the scar on Eskel's face. I wanted to know more about Eskel, who he was, what his adventures had been, his own story.

Over the years I developed a lot of headcanon for Eskel, incorporating parts from books and games, and adding my own interpretations. And the games adding lil'Bleater... was just owwww.

All the people I ship romantically with this character, Emhyr, Geralt, potentially Erland or Coen, Vesemir (one-sided, non-requieted)

Emhyr: I know most people ship Emralt, which I do like to read, but Eskel and Emhyr have a totally different dynamic. I can see several stories for them, one I am still writing, others that only live in my head.

Geralt: I see Geralt as Eskel's first great romantic love and his first great romantic disappointment. Geralt's many affairs do not go well, with Eskel who is a faithful person, and I usually write them as a pairing that did not last. The first romantic love that normally should not last and did not last for them.

Erland or Coen: Eskel and Griffin Witcher - of course! I can see it with both, but am honestly more partial to the old Griffin and Eskel, which would be quite the sweet romance.

Vesemir: that's a one sided one in some of my stories, with Eskel having feelings for Vesemir, that go unrequited. He loved the old wolf, either Eskel never spoke up, but more like the old Wolf held no such feelings for him.

My non-romantic OTP for this character Vesemir, Lambert

Vesemir: Eskel and Vesemir have this mentor-student dynamic, and Eskel was Vesemir's choice as a successor in leading the wolves. As such they shared a lot of confidences and trust, and Eskel was closer to Vesemir than he was to his brothers.

Lambert: I summed up their dynamic in one of my WIPs and I'll give you the direct quote:

The old adage said, that Witcher friendships either involved two men very similar, or two utterly dissimilar, held true here. Eskel was huge, tall, and for a Witcher fairly slow, Lambert was thin, almost wiry and faster than a viper. Eskel was kind and good-natured, while Lambert was a fundamental ass. Eskel loved magic, while Lambert loved alchemy and bombs, though both loved books. Eskel had taken to Witcher training, loved Kaer Morhen, and been a model apprentice, Lambert hated Kaer Morhen, despised the trainers and been the apprentice from hell no one wanted. And yet they were close friends. Lambert would be cranky and spiteful, each year, until they spotted Eskel’s campfire at the base of the killer. Eskel would go back out there, if he returned and Lambert had failed to come back by that time. Eskel would bring back any piece of alchemy equipment or writings he came across, and Lambert did the same with arcane writings for Eskel. Eskel would always have empathy for Lambert’s anger and in turn Lambert would curb his venom and behave, when Eskel was about. Lambert detested being a Witcher, but because Eskel was proud of the same, he reeled it in. Lambert had made the solution they had used to heal Eskel’s facial wounds, and sat with him those agonizing nights, as the wounds slowly healed. 

My unpopular opinion about this character: Eskel is the only one of the wolves who sticks to their task and their code in the end, when his brothers chose different paths, or become vinters in Toussaint. Eskel remains true to what he is: a Witcher, and to the legacy that comes with it. I think he might not approve of Geralt settling down and becoming a country squire.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I wish they had given a decent story for the scars, the Deidre arc in the DLC was sloppy writing at best, set up to make Eskel small to give Geralt something to do.

I really wish they would have taken the time to write a really good story about the scars on Eskel's face, the fight he got them in, and what happened there

Vesemir

How I feel about this character: He was the second Kaer Morhen Witcher who fascinated me, and of whom I wanted to know more. His age is a riddle in the books (If you take that he saw Kaer Morhen built, and all the clues about Kaer Morhen, he is somehwere between 200 and 900 years old, nice!)

I love the old mentor who kept going, when the school was destroyed, and who is still that mentor/leader to the other Witchers. I think he has a lot of fascinating history that could be told.

I also know Vesemir was a stern mentor, a harsh mentor often, and I think Vesemir preferred his trainees hating him, over trainees who died because they did not learn.

All the people I ship romantically with this character Lambert, Aiden, Garanwyn (OC)

Lambert: I already wrote one story for that and would love to write more about them. Seeing Lambert grow beyond his childhood grudges is fascinating, Lambert and Vesemir have a totally changed dynamic when they interact as equals.

Aiden: That's a more lighthearted one I have in mind. A story where Lambert brings his best friend Aiden to Kaer Morhen, talking Vesemir into allowing a cat into the castle. And Aiden going all out on ensnaring the old wolf, while Lambert isn't sure whether to rage or to blush.

Garanwyn: Garanwyn is my OC from Son of the Dragon. He and Vesemir had this strong vibe almost from the start, and what began as a friendship/family story with Vesemir learning how an old friend of his had died during the Uprising, and Garanwyn being out to avenge Scolian, developed into a friendship that held deeper undertones.

I can easily see Vesemir stories with Duny/Emhyr as well.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Guxard, Rennes, Eskel

Guxard: the old cat leader and old friend and enemy of Vesemir. They were friends, they were enemies, they were betrayed, they hated each other, they liked to hate each other, and they would still go out of their way to help one another.

Rennes: Old friend of Vesemir, his grandmaster, his comrade, and someone he knew since they were very young. There is a lot of story there, and a lot of sadness.

Eskel: Eskel is not Vesemir's favorite student, but the student he relied on the most. I see Eskel as Vesemir's right hand, the one Vesemir would turn to, when it came to school politics, to keeping Kaer Morhen standing and other decisions. Vesemir silently expected Eskel to carry on, after Vesemir fell, and Eskel did not disappoint him.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He was the best mentor Kaer Morhen ever had, even as his methods were harsh. He approached each student individually. He used Lambert's anger and abrasiveness, Eskel's need to conform, and Geralt's constant wish to be the best, to push them all as far they could go, and then some. He was smart about understanding his students, and using their own character flaws to train them, to get them to become the best Witchers they could be. Very few of his former students ever realised that, many just kept the picture they had of him during training into their adult years. Vesemir is not a father-figure. He is a trainer, it is not his job to love his students, or to hate his students, or to coddle his students. It is his task to train them, to make them fit for a world that is out to kill them, and that he did perfectly. He is a trainer not a papa-bear.

Second unpopular opinion: he shouldn't have sacrificed himself for Ciri, she wasn't worth it.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

A better ending. Honestly - the whole thing in TW3 was lazy writing. Again. Either give him an epic fight to the death, and let the Wild Hunt rue the day they went toe to toe with the old wolf, or let him survive the whole thing. His death was used as an emotional impact, but the impact would have been that harder, if he had really dished out damage, if we had rooted, believed he could make it, only then to lose him. Give the old wolf the dignity of a warrior's death, at least.

Game-wise I wish they had given us a Mass-Effect like choice: rescue Vesemir or rescue Ciri, with the other character being sure to die. (Like Kaidan and Ash in ME 1) I would have so love having the choice there. I'd have rescued the old wolf, every time.

Excerpt:

Ronan finished emptying the bag of blood in a coffee mug and then looked in the fridge again. He wasn’t sure if Adam would be able to eat anything, but he figured he’d have to eat something. He threw up a lot last night. Would it be better for him to go hunt?

Ronan listened to the noises of the house before ducking out the back door silently.

He came back in a few minutes later with a rabbit, stunned, in his hands. Hopefully Adam got up-and-moving before it came back to and Ronan lost it in the house. Were werewolves like cats? Would Adam hunt it down and destroy half the shit in the living room until he caught it? Sure, it’d probably be smarter just to kill it, but vampires hated dead blood. And, sure, Adam ate ground meat, but as a human, not a wolf. Ronan didn’t know what the wolf wanted. Then again, Adam was human right then. Maybe he couldn’t even turn after a night like the last.

And now Ronan had a rabbit in his house. God, he was an idiot, choking at the first sign of social responsibility in a century.

“What are you doing?” Adam asked. Ronan turned, unable to hide the rabbit, and looked at Adam on the stairs.

“Uh. I thought you’d want to eat, but I haven’t cooked in…” Better to not say, probably. “Ages.”

“So you caught me a rabbit? Are you my cat?” he asked, a tired smile pulling at his lips.

“I didn’t think that you might not be well enough to eat it until after I had it.”

Adam’s stomach growled loud enough that Ronan heard it across the room. “I can eat it,” Adam said. “I’ll just have to be more careful than when I’m a wolf. Human stomachs aren’t wolf stomachs.”

Favorite thing about them: I feel like I need to just state preemptively that everything is going to be biased because they're my OC and started out as a self-insert and I love them. However they are a snarky bastard (by design) and I don't know how obvious it's becoming that I really really have a thing for that particular niche of antagonist design. (Yes they are technically an antagonist in what I'm planning with them original-writing wise)

Least favorite thing about them: they refuse to ask for help literally ever. child please

Favorite line: Hm. I don't think they have any lines in their debut piece actually. Everything else is from RPs currently and I'm not tracking somethin down through a discord chat... honestly it's probably still waiting to be written.

Random headcanon: uhh I don't know if it counts as a headcanon if they're my character but. They will do menial chores to feel human/destress because it's a rhythmic thing. (this originated because I was trying to coax myself into doing the dishes regularly)

Krystal and The Iron Bull- Krystal has Swish the Raven and Honey the Dracolisk. Honey LOOKS scary, but Bull knows she's sweet but shy. SWISH on the other hand is OBSCENELY territorial with Krystal and her things. He's almost certain Swish is after his fingers.

Krystal and Jaal ama Darav- Neither of them really have pets, but Krystal hangs out a lot with Leigh's pyjack Gizmo and space hamster Butch, and neither of them really scare or bother Jaal lol.

Leigh and Cassandra Pentaghast- Being a werewolf, Leigh IS THE SCARY PET. She doesn't scare Cass though.

Leigh and Vetra Nyx- Vetra isn't scared of Ryder's pets, but she has a VENDETTA against GIZMO THE PYJACK because he's CONSTANTLY getting into the stuff she needs to BARTER

Anita Miranda and Liam Kosta- Anita does NOT have any pets, but Liam is dreams of owning a domesticated adhi one day. That ALONE terrifies Anita

Miriam Hawke and the Arishok- The Arishok has respect for Miriam's mabari, Bronx. The dog is well trained, fierce, and protective of his owner. Bronx respects that the Arishok loves his human, has a great throwing arm for fetch, and claws for great scritches.

1. What’s your least and most favorite thing about quarantine?

Favourite thing: nothing | least favourite: everything 

I’m living alone, and I have to go to work everyday and can’t see my friends and family. So... yeah, it’s not particularly great. 

2. Is there a hobby that you have recently got back into? if yes, what is it?

Yoga. (Well, I try to get back into it)

3. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Hanging out with my chaotic friend group everyday during and after school.

I had a lot of different hairstyles. Long hair, short hair, long hair with one side shaved. Curls. Straight. Same with colours: Red, black, blue, yellow-orange-red (don’t ask, I lost a bet), violet, brown. Now, I’ve been blonde for a while (which is my natural hair colour)

I guess so. Partially, at least. 

Like, I know we have a law saying that it’s illegal to run out of fuel on the motorway. 

And then there’s the Youth Protection Act § 9 saying that teenagers above the age of 14 are allowed to drink sparkling wine if they’re at a private event, and as long as the parents allow it; teenagers above the age of 16 are allowed to drink beer, wine, and sparkling wine in public (restaurants & stuff); and above the age of 18 you are allowed to drink whatever. 

I know a few more, but most of the time, I’m not a 100% sure about the name. lol

2019 Fic Masterlist Part 1: The 100

Slightly inspired by @she-who-the-river-could-not-hold (and by that i mean, i saw her making a fic masterlist and was like ‘oh i should do something like that’), i’ve decided to share a masterlist of all the fics i wrote in 2019. i branched into writing for a couple new fandom’s this year, which i’m quite proud of, because prior to this year i’ve only shared fics written for The 100, and i branched into some new ships this year as well, after becoming rather disenchanted with a previous OTP. Read if you want, share if you want, hope you enjoy!

For who could ever learn to love a beast [M] (Becho) 

Echo is a werewolf, and she meets Bellamy the morning after a full moon, and they fall in love, but all the while, she is hiding the truth about herself from him. A bit of found family, teacher!Bellamy, first date cuteness, etc. Written for the first round of our first go at @chopped100challenge, the tropes required were 1) mythical creature, 2) coffee shop AU, 3) rain kiss, and 4) One character teaching the other to do something (which required physical contact. 

With stardust embedded in our skin [T] (Becho) 

Soulmate AU + reincarnation. Multichapter fic, following bellamy and echo throughout a multitude of lives (well... 2, at the moment, but there are a multitude planned), where your soulmark glows where your soulmate first touches you, and you also have the mark from your past lives that glow as well. So far there is a romeo/juliet esc story, a 15th century Salem witch hunting story, and a few more in the works. 

the brave not broken girl [T] (Raven & Anya) 

Also written for Chopped, this fic was for the first round of our second go at it, which was ‘canon divergent’, which basically meant we had to take a storyline from canon and change it. In this fic, Raven ended up in mt. weather, and was the one who discovered the grounder cages, freed anya, and escaped, where they then travelled to polis to seek Lexa’s help. the tropes were 1) somebody who lived in canon dies, or someone who died in canon lives, 2) sunsets, 3) protectiveness, and 4) a dichotomy. 

Confetti [G] (Lexa/Costia) major character death

ALSO written for Chopped. round 2 of 2.0, where the theme was canon speculation, which meant we had to choose an unexplored part of the canon, and fill in the blanks. I chose to look into Costia as a character, particularly her childhood and her relationship with Lexa. With the small caveat that she is observing the major points in her life as a ghost who is revisiting some of the most important moments of her life. The tropes for this round were 1) one character is a ghost (must interact with other characters, or, if they do not, they must be the pov character), 2) joke kiss turned serious, 3) a character is eavesdropping and their presence is revealed, and 4) a character is laughing or crying so hard they cannot speak. 

munuð [E] (Echo/Emori) 

Yet another Chopped fic, round 3 of 2.0 (listen... chopped is the only thing i write t100 for anymore okay dont @ me). The theme was ‘modernised canon’ which meant we had to take the barebones of a storyline from canon and transfer it into a modern setting. i chose the plot of gimmie shelter, where emori tricks everyone into testing on fake!baylis after overhearing that they wanted to do human trials, and also a slight allusion to wonkru. Echo and Emori are looking for a hedge witch group to be part of after magic gets turned off/starts being rationed, and they end up in an all women’s group that has some rather peculiar practices. may or may not include an all female sex magic induced orgy. the tropes required were 1) Magic AU (i chose to use the magic concepts from the show The magicians), 2) sex pollen, 3) secret places, and 4) character says something along the lines of ‘you expect me to do x?’ and then it immediately cuts to them doing x. 

and i’ll die by your side if you want me to [T] (Memori) 

Written for the Chopped holiday gift exchange for @justbecauseyoubelievesomething, where, in a double blind gift exchange, we were given four tropes and a few minor notes from an anonymous recipient, and then wrote a fic with those tropes, that fit a holiday theme. My four tropes were 1) based on a tv show (i chose Timeless), 2) soulmate AU, 3) fake dating, and 4) timeloop/groundhog day. In this fic, Murphy and Emori are part of the Time Team, working for a company that has developed time travel, when bellamy and octavia steal the time machine to go back and change history to bring Lincoln back. they end up in france, christmas 1914, and while trying to stop the blake siblings, emori dies, but then, the day begins again. Murphy is then on a mission to stop the blakes, and also to make sure him, Echo, and, most importantly, Emori, survive the process.

Excerpt: 

As it turns out, this small town had a surprise. Adam knew a drag when he saw one. Bars all looked, sounded, and smelled the same whether he could see into them or not, and the building at the end of the road was definitely a club. Pulsing lights and throbbing music spilled onto the street ahead of them and Ronan wrapped an arm around Adam’s waist.

It was odd to see him out of the house. Everything about the past few days had been so insular that Adam hadn’t taken time to think about doing something like this with Ronan, or going to get dinner, or doing grocery shopping. Not that, he knew, he should be planning out his future or anything. It was just that Ronan seemed like a permanent fixture of the house. In the colorful glow of a club, he looked like a different creature entirely, at once sharper and safer. He was more human out in the world. Adam couldn’t decide if it was a camouflage or not.

They’d almost made it to the door when a raucous group came out of the alleyway. There were five of them, all good looking, all tangled together like they couldn’t operate separately. Even through the alcohol and the sweat, Adam could smell their scent. It was the pack from the road.

And the vampire.

On a good day, non-werewolves couldn’t recognize a human from their wolf form and vice versa, much less outside of a very bright club in the middle of the night. Further from the full moon, Adam smelt less like a dog--Ronan had told him as much earlier in the evening with his face pressed up against Adam’s ribs--and Adam wasn’t sure the vampire would even remember what he had smelt like.

The pack was good looking. Adam could guess which man went with which wolf. There was a handsome black man with light eyes and broad shoulders. Beside him, as when they were wolves, was a tall Asian man with silver hair and a bored glance. The two others--brothers, as Adam thought--were almost the same height with the same blonde hair and dark eyes. One, with larger ears and a more spacey look, didn’t have his shirt on, so Adam could see a tattoo, or maybe a scar, under his collar bones that read ‘Nice Doggie’ along with an o-collar. Adam felt fury burn hot through his body at the disrespect, but the way the man lounged against the vampire’s side didn’t suggest he’d been forced into any of it.

“Ronan Lynch, you son of a bitch,” the vampire cackled, tearing off ugly white sunglasses that he was wearing in the dead of the night for some reason. He stuck them on the large eared werewolf’s head. Adam was more than pleased to see a bandage wrapped around the vampire’s mid-forearm.

“Kavinsky,” Ronan snarled back.

“It could still be K to you.” The vampire’s eyes tracked over Ronan hungrily but came up short as he followed Ronan’s arm to Adam’s waist. “Who the fuck is this? Some new fun? I thought you were out of that game.” He reached out for Adam’s jaw, with the bandaged arm, the same one he’d used to hold Adam’s head as a wolf, and Adam caught his wrist, cinched his fingers tight around the thin bones.

“I wouldn’t want you to get hurt. Again,” he added, glancing at the bandage.
