How I feel about this character

neil is me. my idealized self. well except for the sports hyperfixation, but the hyperfixation in itself is still relatable. perfect chaos gremlin. i love him, and so, I love myself.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

andrew is canon and, well, easy. kevin should be obvious, ms sakavic you did not hide well the fact that the earlier drafts of the books were a threeway relationship between them

My non-romantic OTP for this character

i feel like OTP is too strong. like…i like the foxes as a unit in general but i don't feel very strongly for any of the non-romantic pairings within that.

My unpopular opinion about this character

so much fanart depicts him as the normal one of andreil and i'm like…i can see how you'd be mistaken into believing that due to POV bias, but it doesn't hold up to scrutiny and definitely not now that we have had external POVs of neil

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

i think neil should have found a way out of dealing with ichirou altogether rather than making a deal with him. idk how to make it work within canon. he just deserves it.

My unpopular opinion about this character

a lot of people will defend nora's choice to keep kevin with thea, and some will go so far as to say it's misogyny/racism to not be a fan of kevin's girlfriend from the raven murder cult that he supposedly got out of, and like. okay guys. if we can accept that the ravens were all complicit in jean's abuse because it was systematic, which seems to be the dominant mindset 2/3 of the way through jean's trilogy, then i don't know why we make an exception for thea just because the author likes her.

(also bold to say it's misogyny/racism to dislike what is done with her in the story, but not the fact that she's barely a character in the first place who feels tacked on as a last minute addition to keep kevin straight?)

What made you ship it?

I'm going to be 100% honest with you here. It was the heavymedic mic spam from like 17 years ago. I think it was 8 or 9 years ago now when I had gotten into TF2, and along with the Garry's Mod animation obsession, came me discovering the mic spam. After that I had seen more fanart, I watched Meet The Medic, and overall saw it as an OTP at the time. I was very isolated from the shipping community however, and thought that heavymedic was the only ship possible in TF2.

What are your favourite things about the ship?

Oh god, where do I even start. Heavy and Medic have not only great compatibility personality wise and are visually appealing, but their in-game dynamic adds to this too. More often than not, Medics are left defenseless if they aren't healing anyone (unless you're really good at being a battle medic), and Heavy is tanking all the damage from incoming fire. If you mix the two playstyles together, you get this sort of inpenetrable force field. Their voices compliment eachother, I can see and feel deep reds and blues mixing together in their voices like blood-filled veins and healing wounds. They're the kind of dynamic you can see aging together in retirement, living a more quiet peaceful life despite their natural lean for chaos.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have about the ship?

Someone had to address the elephant in the room; most of the time, heavymedic is written and portrayed horribly. As much of an amazing ship this is, I feel like it's more often than not seen in the wrong way. A lot of people love Medic's character, and forget that Heavy is not just some sort of play thing written only to give love and affection to his beloved doctor. Heavy has *so* much character and people seem to refuse to write him as an actual character. Whether it's intentional or not, I'm very tired of seeing Heavy's well developed story and history get thrown out of the window in place of his love for the doctor. Also; I hate seeing Medic being portrayed as the "weaker one" in the relationship. Yes, he is a healer, but Heavy and Medic's power dynamics go beyond just physical strength. Medic is assertive, manipulative; he can easily get what he wants because he's good with his words. HOWEVER... Medic is not apathetic. He deeply cares about everyone on the team. He manipulates for the sake of what he loves and cares about, not for his own, personal desires. AND. HEAVY ISN'T STUPID. He's very intelligent, but often get's portrayed as the total opposite. He has a kandidat nauk in russian literature (shown in Poker Night), and is very good with math (calculated the cost per bullet in Meet The Heavy, and did the conversion rates for the currency Merasmus was in debt by in the 7th comic) I know these two are moreso about the characters than the ship itself, but it has great importance to the ship nonetheless. These aspects do not fade out when put into a relationship; it's like if you put a mass murderer into a relationship with an innocent person and the murderer immediately recovers from the guilt and stops their murderous behavior. No, it'll stick with them IF on the road to recovery would take ages to work out.

I yapped a lot more than I thought I would, but I'm very specific when it comes to heavymedic.

The clock struck half past eleven at night, and the dim light of the room enveloped them in shared intimacy. Only a small lamp flickering in shades of amber could outline the harmonious and broad figures of both soldiers. The thick walls, the heavy curtains—everything conspired to isolate them from the outside world, creating a sanctuary where time held no meaning, at least for once. Simon "Ghost" Riley had made sure that nothing and no one could intrude upon this space he considered sacred. He had turned off his phone, locked the door, and, as a final act, dragged the heavy chair from the corner to block any attempt at interruption. Tonight, he wasn’t going to share König with anyone. He wouldn’t let him leave early either. Not duty, not the shouts of a superior, not even the war itself would have power over them.

At least, for a few hours before dawn.

He had worked hard in the days leading up to this moment to secure a few free hours before his morning shift. And even though his body was exhausted, his need to merge with König outweighed any fatigue. The need this man awakened in him was akin to that of a starving animal or a nocturnal creature parched with thirst. Alexander was a sort of paradise amid chaos, an oasis in the midst of hell. The only moment when all his senses took center stage and his mind could finally shut off, where feeling was the one thing that made him feel alive.

He could mentally replay, over and over, every moment when König had awakened new sensations in him. He remembered the first brush of their hands, the involuntary shiver that ran through him when their eyes met during that shared mission, and the way their breaths synchronized when their bodies intertwined in the darkness. But he would never admit it. He would never accept, not even to himself, that he had fallen in love with this man. He refused to acknowledge that he had an irrational dependency on those blue eyes, on that unique way of loving him. And, above all, he refused to admit that König was his weakness.

He tried to convince himself with cruel, almost ruthless thoughts. He told himself that if he were in a situation where he had to choose between König's life and his own, he wouldn’t hesitate to save himself. He couldn’t afford that vulnerability; it would be foolish... right? Yet, deep down, he knew he was lying.

König sat at the edge of the bed, his broad shoulders leaning slightly forward as if bearing the weight of a world only Simon could understand. He wore a tight gray t-shirt that outlined his powerful figure, with small cigarette burn holes—remnants of long nights and shared watches with his comrades. His lounge pants hung on his hips with an apparent carelessness, but Ghost knew every line and curve beneath that fabric. Despite his imposing height and chiseled muscles, at that moment, he looked like a gentle giant, vulnerable and exposed to the storm of emotions Simon unleashed in him.

Ghost approached silently, his steps muffled by the rough carpet. He observed König's profile—the straight line of his jaw, the way his messy hair fell over his forehead, casting shadows that danced to the flickering light. Every detail was etched in his memory; every feature formed part of a map he had traced on countless nights like this one. But what drew him in the most was König’s gaze: those blue eyes that seemed to contain an entire ocean, deep, enigmatic, and yet full of a tenderness only Simon could provoke.

König looked up upon sensing his presence, and their eyes met in a silent clash of emotions. No words were needed; in that gaze, they said everything. König let his guard down for him alone. In front of others, he always kept his impenetrable mask, his façade of an indomitable warrior. But in this room, under that soft amber light, he allowed himself to be just Alexander—vulnerable, human... and completely his.

That purity, that exclusivity, was what made König so addictive to Simon. No one else knew that side of him. No one else could touch that hidden fragility behind his armor of strength. And Ghost, who had lost so much in life, wasn’t willing to share it. Not tonight. Not until dawn came to reclaim what was rightfully its own.

Simon knelt before him, slowly and deliberately stripping off his shirt. The heavy fabric fell aside, vanishing into the eternal darkness of the room's play of light and shadow, revealing his broad, sculpted torso. Scars stood out even more perfectly in relief, and the tattoo on his forearm completed the picture of perfection that was Simon Riley. His tactical jeans rested low on his waist, highlighting his pelvis in his flawless physique, and Alexander couldn't help but let his gaze linger on his form, swallowing thickly.

Alexander’s blue eyes traveled from Simon's waistband to his face, getting lost in his beauty, even though it was still covered by that balaclava that always concealed his features. Even so, he could see his beautiful eyes—those eyes that, this time, bore no trace of violence but a desire charged with tenderness.

Simon tilted his head slightly to look down at him, his gloved fingers gently tracing Alexander's jawline, outlining that perfect profile. Alexander didn't move, his body tense, his breathing uneven. He felt vulnerable under that touch, exposed like never before, but he couldn't pull away. He didn’t want to.

—Ready for me?

Alexander found no words, his slightly parted lips voiceless. But his breathing quickened noticeably, his chest rising and falling uncontrollably, and his eyes shone with a mix of longing and submission. He nodded slowly, the gesture clumsy and almost primal, like a warrior surrendering to a superior force. And at that moment, Simon knew he had him—completely and utterly.

Without breaking eye contact, Simon straddled König’s broad legs, moving with a predator’s precision. His hands found the sides of the Austrian's neck, firm and possessive, his thumbs feeling the rapid pulse beneath the warm skin. He leaned in slowly, forcing König to lie back on the bed, to surrender under his control. König’s legs gave way, and his back met the mattress with a faint creak of the springs. He was a giant subdued, vulnerable and docile beneath his lover’s hands.

Simon pulled up the edge of his balaclava, revealing his lips—a small gesture that conveyed immense intimacy. He allowed himself to kiss König then, first with gentleness, exploring his lips as if it were the first time, with a tenderness that belied his strength. It was a kiss that held ancient yearnings, unspoken desires, and a love he couldn’t afford to name. He claimed him slowly, ensuring every corner of that mouth belonged to him.

And he did.

Their connection went beyond the physical. Every touch, every look was a reminder that in a world full of death and chaos, they had found something unbreakable. Simon shed his mask, his soldier’s armor, to be simply a man who loved with an almost savage intensity. And König, in turn, ceased to be the unyielding giant to become someone who could fall apart in the arms of the one he loved, knowing he would be held.

Time ceased to exist for them. Simon devoted himself to exploring every inch of König with his lips, as if engraving a map in his memory. He touched with infinite patience, as if the world could wait, as if nothing else mattered.

But when someone knocked on the door, the spell shattered. Reality intruded like an icy gust, tearing apart the bubble of intimacy they had created. Simon's body tensed instantly, his muscles standing out under his skin as he sat up slightly. His eyes locked on the doorway with lethal ferocity, an expression so cold and dangerous it could’ve frozen hell itself. He was a predator ready to strike.

2. If they could each describe each other in one sentence, what would it be?

Zrise is a velvet-dark iris growing from poison soil and longing for the sun, and all I want in the world is to shine on him and watch him unfold.

16. If they broke up, what would be their opinions of each other?

It depends so much on the reason for the breakup.

If it was for the same reason Kristov left him, Siavash would be devastated by guilt, but at the same time he would have to come to the hard realization that a lot of what he believed about Zrise was wishful thinking. He feels safe that Zrise understands him and accepts him as he is, but if Zrise left him for not being present enough, that would mean he didn’t really understand and/or accept Siavash after all. In a way that would be even more devastating, because Sia would have to face the idea that he’s destined to hurt everyone he loves. Killing his hope is about the cruelest thing that could happen.

Pondering what unforgivable things could otherwise cause a breakup isn’t easy because Siavash has a high tolerance for Zrise being Zrise. He managed to coax out Zrise’s secret gentler side, but that doesn’t mean the rabid side isn’t still there—just constructively redirected. Mostly. Sorry Harmattan but there won’t be a trial for the attempted coup, and a funeral was definitely not how Sia wanted to handle the situation. Still even that’s not enough to drive Sia away.

I think the only thing that would drive him away would be if for some reason Zrise regressed into the worst of his self-destructive behavior and Sia couldn’t pull him out of it. It’s not the infidelity per se but the self-harm. It would hurt him deeply to watch Zrise spiral if he didn’t believe he could help, and he would not enable the behavior, so it would cause friction. The only solution would be to give him distance. Still it would take an awful lot for Siavash to lose hope. In that case Sia would see it as his own failure. He knows Zrise has the potential to live, and if he somehow lost him he would blame himself bitterly.

21. How have they changed each other for the better/for the worse?

I don’t like to compare Siavash’s relationship with Woljif to his relationship with Zrise because I need to keep those two parts of my brain separate, but the comparison intrigues me for this one. Woljif is smart, practical-minded and cautious. He’s a grounding force for Siavash, and tempers his wilder impulses especially after ascension. Extremely important to have that “slow down chief” influence when you’re a demigod.

Zrise on the other hand is 100% an enabler. Totally on board for all the chaos no matter how ill-advised.

Another thing I think Zrise does for Siavash is get him to face the darkness. Sia has a tendency to deny and deflect anything truly difficult. As a Calistrian (or ex-Calistrian) Zrise incorporates Elysium’s darker side—the lust, the sting and the venom—that help balance Desnan kindness, hope and good intentions. Because you can’t win a Crusade, or free the Fleshmarket, or defeat an Archdevil without violence, and you can’t turn a blind eye to the consequences of your decisions. He helps Sia integrate his Shadow. That’s essential to his growth and the one thing that may save him in a universe where he’s being enabled in his megalomaniacal post-ascension project to defeat death itself.

25. What moves do they know work on the other?

If Zrise goes for sweet words of affirmation, he hit the jackpot with my goofily poetic, sincerely silly bard. Also the physical affection jackpot. Sia will tip his head onto his shoulder, lie with his head in his lap, give him hugs... and Zrise seems to eat it up. Like, very hungrily. Bottomless pit.

At first Sia’s cautious with him about expressing desire, because Zrise has been objectified by so many people for so long that Sia’s uncomfortable with the implications. Going instead for the affection angle and working from there. Which works. But as they come to trust each other he can more openly start giving him smoldering looks from across the room. And trying out moves I guess HA

Soundwave has gone mute due to the grief of losing its beloved Cassettes, and instead uses others voices to speak. Still, it finds it has trouble voicing its true thoughts and feelings.

Soundwave thoroughly enjoys human music and art. It even has a hacked Spotify account and will listen to music while its flying, alone, or even share it with those closest to it.

Soundwave has managed to get itself connected to the internet, and will regularly do internet searches on things it is unfamiliar with. It also enjoys watching movies and videos.

Soundwave has a strong EM field, which it uses to hone its telepathy, and occasionally share emotions it cannot express.

Soundwave is not emotionless. It feels a lot, actually, but cannot express that.

It uses many emoticons to express what it's feeling, all with their own different meanings.

Soundwave's telepathy is touch based.

Before the war, Soundwave was a gladiator with Megatron. It honed its skills and life long friendship with the Decepticon leader in the pits of Kaon. It trusts Megatron with its life because of their shared experiences. Its loyalty to the Decepticon cause runs deeper than politics.

Soundwave loves its Cassettes. It will put itself in the line of fire to protect them, and will protect them even if it means certain death. In the universes where its Cassettes have gone offline, it's extremely vengeful and will stoop to murder to avenge its beloveds.

The Cassettes were built by Soundwave's own servos. A sliver of its spark splits off, and it only has a few days to build a spark chamber, the beginnings of a protoform and install an internal repair system. The process is extremely time and resource intensive, hence why it has not made new Cassettes during the war.

GUS GUS GUS GUS MY BOY GUSSSSSSSS

How I feel about this character

Gus is so fucking cool, man. I love him!! I especially like his characterization in season 1 as a really cutesy silly geeky little fellow with a surprisingly morbid streak. Like season 1 Gus is probably the funniest character in the show to me. They definitely toned down his chaos a bit in later seasons, but his transition into something more than a supporting comic relief character was also good stuff to chew on.

I find Gus, as he's written in the show itself, to be a character who lacks a solid foundation. Even though I personally enjoy him a lot, it often felt like the crew was struggling to find his emotional core. What makes Gus tick yknow. At least that's the vibe I got from Gus centric episodes where they give him a new complex every time. They knew he was insecure deep down but it was like they couldn't decide on the reason WHY. First they tried "being younger than everyone is hard", then it was "my area of magical expertise isn't taken seriously" and then finally "I'm way too trusting."

I'm not saying he can't be a complex character with MULTIPLE insecurities. I just feel like the writing in this regard is kinda weak in terms of consistency. It really did feel like they just kept introducing new Gus angst every time and forgetting about the Gus angst they had already established. I would have liked to see it all weave together instead, yknow?

Overall Gus is fantastic. I love Gus. When it comes to how the character was ultilized, they might have flopped a bit. But yknow. Gus has potential to be SO interesting. All the ingredients are there. So he's a lot of fun to play with. So much to build and expand on. He is the brightest most neon shade of blue putty.

I kinda like aroace Gus. Idk if that's an unpopular opinion tho. But I don't really have a solid headcanon for his orientation, so sometimes I see him as bi and kissing that one guy. And sometimes he is aroace.

MAN!!! I've made multiple posts about stuff that I wish they did with Gus in canon. I'll try to briefly repeat a few of them

- I wish Gus and Eda were familiar with each other before Luz came into the picture. Like the Owl Lady who sells human junk and the little witch boy who's obsessed with human junk.

- I wish Gus' fixation on the human realm was used as a parallel for Luz' fixation on the fantasy genre. I wish it was used as the thing that helped them to understand each other. Two kids who feel like a bit of an outsider in their own world and use their obsession with another realm as a form of escapism.

- I wish Gus had an arc involving Grometheus.

- I wish Gus had played a role in the finale. Specifically I wish his problem with trusting too easily had been brought up again and tied into the situation with Belos, who sits on a thrown of lies. Would have been fun. But what do I know

Big fanbase is a "holy shit there's two cake!" situation and I love it, but it also has this problem where it won't branch out new ideas so it's slowly generalizing itself. It’s not a bid deal if you like that stuff but for someone who like niche things it's probably hard to find the good stuff.

Small fanbase is great! Often overlooked, increase a chance of interaction too if you want that, but also tend to be easily attacked if it's "problematic". It suck when it happened. Still love it, I'm contributing to my rareships too now.

Not personally, but I see people using the ship name for a duo name and it suck. Especially when they intentionally do it and act suprise when it attract the shippers. Cid being madly in love with a man who can and would tear him apart if he had even 1% less of self control over himself, and him being completely into it. Monsterfucker Cid is so real. This is what I would consider to be the most 'love song' of this playlist and should hammer home how I think Cid feels about Vincent.

I am so very sorry for long this stayed in the box- but thanks a lot for the ask!

Favorite thing about them: Why must you make me choose. I can't. I can't do that. There's genuinely too many things to choose from.

...fine, I can do honorable mentions. One thing that piqued my interest in the tomato son all those years ago was how layered his persona can be... if you squint. Or if you're like me and relate to him on a spiritual level. You see, at the surface of his character, Yuuya's your average protag boy: fun-loving, good-natured and full of innocent hopes and dreams-

Except, that's not all there is to it. Not even at the very start of the story. We see from the get-go how he struggles with the weight of past events and his own doubts and insecurities -which only gets more and more prominent as the show goes on- all while holding onto his smiles in defiance against adversity, and trying to help others do the same as well. Personally, I still think that this is a deceptively simple yet very powerful message.

Least favorite thing about them: Ah, that's a question I can't quite answer. You see, there isn't anything specific I dislike about him, as much as there's stuff I dislike that happen to him- as in, to his character. Like the last stretch of the Xyz and Fusion arcs. Those parts did irreversible damage Yuuya's portrayal- so much so that even I, known for being more forgiving of the story's flaws than most, was shaking my head in denial through the first, second, and third watch. Lord help me when I reach them in the fourth.

Favorite line: Quoting myself from the Yuugo version of this post: would it be cheating the question if I said there's too many to count? Because it's still true. I know for a fact that I'll mention a line here and then find another one I prefer not a day later- that's how it is with the faves, I suppose. For the sake of not leaving this empty, though, here's one quote that stuck with me longer than most:

"The dueling I've had up until now isn't something I made alone. Because everyone was there, I was able to make it this far!"

brOTP: Yuugo!

...Saw that coming? Yes? No? Look, Yuuya's the protagonist so he naturally has a lot of interesting friendships, some established, some made over the course of the show... and a few entirely hypothetical, like this one. What can I say? I just think they'd go great together. Picture this: two idiots with half a braincell between them, who meet each other proper and instantly click. And get on like a house on fire from there. Seriously, they're so different yet similar in so many ways, and I think that'd lend itself to a great mutual underdtanding between the two- almost as if they have some kind of telepathetic link (hmmm). Putting them in one room for extended periods of time will either result in the most fun sort of chaos or in talks so deep they both end up bawling their eyes out in each other's arms.

They're friends. Besties. Brothers even.

OTP: Look, I'm a bonafide vanilla when it comes to romantic ships. Fruitshipping is my first and main OTP in all media of interest, and the threatre kiddos get a badge of honor for being one of a scant few pairs that got me extremely close to crying on more than 1 occasion. That's more than can be said for... *checks notes* ...99.8% of the characters I know!

nOTP: Hmm... there's none that come to mind, honestly. I don't mind seeing Yuuya paired with anyone, as long as the ship is not inherently inappropriate and/or isn't portrayed in any weird ways.

Random headcanon: Thanks to certain happenings towards the end of the plot, Yuuya ends up developing the unconscious habit of hoarding things precious to him. He'll go to sleep curled up in the middle of a nest of blankets and pillows, surrounded by all his favorite plushies, random trinkets and gifts from friends, and of course, his pendulum and card partners (thank god in-universe cards are stupidly sturdy). The first time Youko chances upon him in this state, deep in the peaceful bliss of slumber, she stealthily snaps a photo and- huh? No, you didn't hear a thing. "Cuteness overload can be heard from over a mile away?" Pfft, nonsense.

Unpopular opinion: No idea how unpopular this may be, but... I don't get the claims that Yuuya's not a good duelist?

Several people point out that he relies on Action cards to stall out a duel until he can turn it around, and conclude that as such, he's less skillful than most of his opponents. That take confuses me more than anything; after all, isn't it in the nature of the Action duel rule that one must make use of the card scattered around them? They're not just there for show, nor are they solely used for their effects. And besides, it's clear that Yuuya's particular brand of entertainment dueling places heavy emphasis on the dynamic aspect, which is why he's always running around the field and trying to make a spectacle out of every move. That doesn't diminish his skill in any way I can see- he's just more inclined to using resources outside those in his deck, thanks in part to needing more combo pieces than survivability cards by virtue of using Pendulums.

Song I associate with them: Assuming any song qualifies, I'd say it's Future Fighter; because it's literally Yuuya's (and Reiji's) very own personal song. It highlights core aspects of their personalities through the lyrics- and what do you know, our boy has a very nice singing voice too! It was one among many highlights from the back half of ARC-V S1 to me.

Favorite picture of them: Look, I just want to see him happy. I think he deserves to display genuine joy more often. And the more sparkles the episode budget allows, the better! So with that in mind, here's a few of my favorite pics of the boyo.

NIKOLAI PETROVICH LANSTOV is my son, my goodest good time boy. I LOVE HIM! SERIOUSLY HE'S BEEN ROTTING MY MIND FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS!! I wish show Nikolai could've been able to show off some more of Nikolai's sheer chaos and his trauma, poor bby bean. 2. Dominik and Alina, no question abt it. Dominik was his first love. If Dominik had survived Halmhend, Nikolai would've changed Ravkan law when he was Tsar to marry that boy. I am so certain of this, it hurts. 3. Non romantic otp? Isaak, Nikolai and Dominik, hands down. Nikolai and Isaak were great together, and it's my headcanon that after Dominik retires from the First Army, he becomes a professor of social history and is Nikolai's advisor in social customs of the Grishaverse, while Isaak is his valet and ex-batmen from the war.

4. I don't ship him with Zoya for one reason: How Zoya is portrayed. I love Zoya but she and Nikolai are too traumatized for one another. Their relationship is too caustic, and Zoya deserves someone who can take her thorns at their sharpest and still stand. For me, I read Nikolai as C-ptsd and shellshocked to a degree that he and Zoya together would bring out the worst in one another. However, I wish that Zoya had been handled better and not forced into a very Mary Sue-esque position. She deserved better, and she, Alina and Genya deserve to be friends together, to share blini and gossip, and to be free of the Darkling, something the show did much better. 5. I wished Dominik had lived, simply. Nikolai would have been an even greater character if Dominik had been there to show that Nikolai could love a boy who was a peasant. It humanizes him even more. Dominik's death is the tried and true classic of the horrors of war taking the boy who can afford to loose it all. He is canon fodder in the war that will spin ever onwards. (Something LB doesn't want to admit is how broken Ravka is. A country this exposed to ongoing and escalating conflict does not simply pull itself three years later.)

RP RESOLUTIONS AND HABITS

Write your RPer Resolutions for 2025! (What are some goals for yourself as a writer? Improve descriptions? Plot with more members? Etc.)

Story Arcs

My main resolution for 2025 is to complete some real story arcs. I think I’m in the process of doing that, I just need a little help sometimes to nudge my own stories along. It’s easier for me to assist other people on their arcs and prioritize those than it is to prioritize mine. I need to get a little better at nudging and focusing on my own direction. I also want to be more clear overall about my intentions with people. I think I’ve been a little vague or just ‘see what happens’ about some stuff and then it’s bit me in the butt a little more than it should have. I want to be a lot more clear about my goals for certain things with muses.

Less docs 

I say this, because while it is nice to be secretive and mysterious about plots, I’ve somehow ended up with at least three docs ongoing at once, and it makes it hard when I want to prioritize one plot point but another is also important and another…. Anyway. It’s a bit overwhelming for me, and I know probably won’t be fully achievable, but at the least I’d like to have less that need the same priority around the same time. I like a good plot to build up to, just need them spread out more maybe.

More backstory

I feel like I do this so intermittently, and do the occasional one shot. I want to have a bit more thought and planning for them sometimes. But idk how well I’ll do on this resolution. I’m just determined to try.

Be honest

Seems like a silly thing, but I’ll be more specific. Be more honest about shipping and where I feel my character is at vs others. I think having an OTP is lovely, it’s a nice thing to aspire to, but also having temporary ships is great and fun too. And it doesn’t take away from the value of that ship. I think it’s nice and adds more to the story. For example, Pip and Tad as exes have been very fun and silly at times and they still care about each other etc. You know. And I’m sure Hiro and Tad will also make interesting exes. I don’t really like to be tied down too early to a ship, so I do want to be more honest, upfront, and clear about a relationship my character has so I don’t feel stuck or like I can’t express something because I worry it will hurt someone’s feelings. Don’t get me wrong. LOVE ships…definitely need them to have an arc or a progression or conflict though to feel really enriching.

Cause an AU

This is an ambition of mine, and I even have a set chain of events I want to put together to make that happen somehow, but probs won’t see itself succeed until next year 2026 probably. But this is an ambition. Let’s see if it'll happen. =]

Finn: He’s graduating in June, so I want to focus on his last few months of uni time, and I also want to build him up for/prepare him for the business idea that’s slowly becoming his new dream. It’s in the works, just gotta get that further along. Name ideas from friends are welcome. Also [redacted] for a lot of different growth things.

Judy: This year I kind of think I want to be a year of failures/trying and failing for Judy. It doesn’t really matter in what ways. I just think she’s still a new muse and she’s got a lot of work to do and a lot to figure out on what she needs and how she can have what she needs. Also want to see how she gets along with the cousins and how long she can handle being in that space without losing her mind a little here and there lol. Jun and Judy 2025 I’m sure will be very fun.

Mushu: Chaos chaos chaos. Most especially a lot of trial and error. I want him to get hurt, I want him to get in trouble doing what he’s trying to do. I want a lot of consequences for him trying to wake his dragon. That’s my main thing. I want him to really struggle with all of his failures too.

Pepper: My goal for her this year is for her to really go through it <3 She’s had too peaceful a time. This year is…going to be a shakeup for her. Hopefully that’ll lead to some interesting new places.

Shang: I want to end his triad plot line at some point this year. I want that to have a good conclusion and for him to finally get to start figuring out what’s next for him. That’s my plan.

Tad: I want to [redacted] <3 I have an idea for it and a hopefully somewhat satisfying way to wrap the arc up, it's just a matter of how to get him there.

Tink: I would love for her to find a little love this year. One of her real main motivators is based on this desperate need to be loved just as she is despite how messy she is, and it’d be nice for her to have a little bit of that though I have a good feeling it won’t happen and that’s okay too. As long as I wrap up the arc I have with her in a good way I’ll be content.

Finn: graduate! He really wants to graduate well with both of his majors. He also wants to see if he can succeed with his photo studio idea.

Judy: prove herself to her fellow cops! Get a boyfriend maybe! Prove Jun wrong about something lol.

Mushu: his goal is going to be the same this year. Wake his dragon! Also build up the Intramural Basketball gang. Also esports. Also see where SDG takes him.

Pepper: try to bring the band back together! Figure out more with her relationship with Buster! Bond with her housemates a bit more maybe.

Shang: Just have a few fucking normal months. Is that too much for him to ask for? Dfsfds alternatively he’ll say figure more out about [redacted].

Tad: get sober again. Finish his studies. Apologize to Hiro at some point.

Tink: make Pixie’s better than ever! Rock it in the MAFIA! Continue to hook up with good looking people.

Julieta - I think this is a flaw of me having younger characters generally, but I haven’t really been able to interact with Julieta much. Let’s change that!

Roz - I think this is the only one of your characters E that I haven’t really written with? And that’s a tragedy! Roz is pretty awesome. Maybe that’ll come with all the chaos with MAFIA eventually.

Arista - I have not gotten to interact with her since she returned and that’s tragic! More mer bonding requested!!

Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?

My plotting style has been a bit of a mix this past year and it’s sort of adjusted as I’ve wanted to adjust how I write and plot a bit. So I have often just thrown stuff at the wall and seen what sticks. In the last few months of 2024 though and into this new year I’ve put a bit more thought into some things and I’ve even planned out a year’s arc for one of my kids which I haven’t really done often. But I think it’ll lead to something really cool. My biggest 

I’m drawn to all kinds. I like the angsty, I like the intimate personal things and some fantastical things that I’m finally really diving back into. I like a lot of humor in situations that might be a little sadder on the whole. I like to do some lighthearted things and things that are just silly and ridiculous in nature. I can’t help it. Especially with the younger muses. 

I like a good found family dynamic. The mercrew is a great example of that. I love it so much. Finn and Nemo and their original friend squad was a great example of that. I love the connections characters can make that can mean more than family in some places. It just has so much richness to it. 

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again too: I love mess. Tink is the prime example of that and really lets me embrace all the chaos and mess possible. But I’d like to see that for more of my others too. Mushu is well on the way there as well. Tad’s caused his own in his own way too. I like drama, I like people having friction or making enemies or connections falling apart because one has a temper or who knows. I just need some good character chaos.

Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationships are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships? 

Ships! Right. So I love them, I really do. Platonic friendships, dating, hook ups, fake dating, friends with benefits, you name them! I like them. I’m always open to romantic shipping, but it takes me a lot more to commit to something actually being OTP sort of material I guess. Chemistry is essential of course. But then it’s also like are their stories going to enrich each other? Are they going to help each other move forward and stuff like that? Are they going to tear each other apart? Also an interesting take.

I do want one of mine to get married in this rp at some point. Specifically Shang or Judy I think would probably suit that story direction best. Though I will also of course, gladly have Tink do an unhinged drunken get married plotline for the chaos of it too. TBH.

Found Family

I do get drawn into this idea of connections being just as important as real family, if not more so. That’s what I loved about Afternoon Snack Club, and Lunch Squad, and what I really like about Finn and Nemo still being as close as they are. I really want to make more of these types of connections for my characters. Mushu is primed for that too as his family’s a bit messed up.

Antagonizing Relationships

Be it frenemies, enemies, rivals etc. I love a good antagonistic relationship. Louie and Phineas back in the day were prime for it. I feel like Mushu has the potential to get some good beef. Tad post break up also… I want to get some more beef going between characters. It just makes things more fun if there’s some snark or bitterness or resentment between some. 

Friendship

More than anything I am looking for friends for Tad since he’s down, Mushu because I’d really like Mushu to have some friends who will get dragged into his chaos. Please lmk have him drag one of yours along with him for maximum mess. Thank you. <3 

Law and Order

I really want Judy to have to face down some of the criminals in our town in some way. I want to deal with the tension between one of the MAFIA and her maybe too. I just ahh I want to explore that side of things more.

Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #3 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it.

Tink falls in love!! <3 <3 or something else unhinged. This is just for sillies.

TINK keeps hooking up with random men and women because it’s fun, but with her latest hook up with SHANG and the way he treats her respectfully makes her start to second guess herself. 

TINK goes to KAREN and asks her if maybe she should chill and actually settle with one person for a change. Karen tells her do whatever you wanna do.

TINK is still ruminating about this and bumps into DRAKKEN who’s working on some other cool invention. Tink asks to help him. 

TINK and DRAKKEN work together on a project and spend more and more time together. Tink starts to like Drakken. 

DRAKKEN does something unhinged thinking it would deter Tink. It actually makes TINK like him more. 

DRAKKEN and TINK finally get together and start plotting to take over the world as a couple.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK

the pacing was a mess, and the transition between episode 3 and 4 of Loki felt like whiplash. Episode 3 needed another 10 minutes to build up Loki and Sylvie’s chemistry before throwing us into their romance at the beginning of episode 4. They could have even benefited from a longer time as enemies. (Though Loki was already hardcore simping on that train lol)

However, and know that I hate the Insta love trope in practically every other situation (my other otp is goddamn Aziracrow for f’s sake), but I believe that Loki and Sylvie falling in love so soon was not only believable, but realistic. Why? They were in a life and death situation, they essentially share a soul, they were scared and lonely, and they had never met someone they could relate to on that level. They were familiar to each other, almost as if they were missing from each other’s lives, or had known eachother forever, but also very different and very new. Tom (why Tom why?) said they were almost like long lost siblings, but I think star crossed soulmates is a more accurate choice of words. It’s like the chaos of the multiverse itself led them to other other, when the rules said they were never meant to meet. It was acceptance of death and of themselves. Keep in mind that Sylvie thought she would die resented, misunderstood, and alone, and so did Loki when he attempted suicide in Thor 1. We don’t know why or how we fall in love with who we do, but it makes perfect sense that those two did. Loki and Sylvie turning to each other in the darkest moment was comfort, it was closure, and it was the most tragically romantic thing I’ve ever seen. I cannot watch that scene without getting chills. I also think it makes for a heartbreakingly beautiful story, fits the themes of the story almost too well, and calls back to other stories such as Before Sunrise, Titanic, and indeed Romeo and Juliet, which Sophia herself said Sylki reminds her of.

I have an opinion that would be unpopular both among sylkis and anti sylkis: I agree that falling in love in 24hours was rushed but I don't think it's a problem at all. I take Loki and Sylvie falling within a day with the same suspension of disbelief that I take Romeo and Juliet falling at first sight, the /how/ they fell in love is less important than the /consequences/ of them falling in love and making it happen quick was done so the bulk of the story can focus on said consequences.

That's an understandable take and there's definitely a convenience to it. One of my mutuals chalks it out as being a side effect of both being variants.

The pacing(not just for sylki) is one of my main complaints for the Loki series. Something about the pacing just feels off to me for most of the characters. Maybe because I like slowburn things?
