so um, has anyone considered the ramifications of the hinting this show gave us when they made the first two hobbies we know Tommy likes be flying and and Muay Thai? Because when you tie those two things together in context of the discussion in Buck's kitchen, ("I don't know Muay Thai" "I could teach you" "is that gonna be right after our flying lessons?") it's another one of those things that makes it so obvious.
Muay Thai, which would have their bodies pressed up against one another.
Flying, which would get them alone in a tiny metal flying object.
Like...the fact that Tommy offered to teach him both things and Buck said yes to both. Suggesting that they don't just want to get hot and sweaty together, they then want to spend extended periods of time in close quarters with one another. and they don't even know each other yet.

The Princess and the Frog is peak romance: two incredibly heartwarming love stories for the price of one!
Tumblr media
At first, Tiana and Naveen.
A story of two dreamers with so many differences between them, who start at odds, but then learn so much from each other (Tiana by allowing herself to have fun, Naveen by achieving a new sense of responsibility), becoming happier for it. And when they finally reach their goals, it's because they stayed together and supported each other.
Tumblr media
And then, Ray and Evangeline.
A story of faith and devotion. A firefly utterly in love with a star sounds ridiculous at first, but it's an infatuation like that, so strong and pure, that inspires others to open themselves to love. Even at the expense of being seen as weird, Ray never once doubts that he'll be able to join the love of his life in the sky, and ultimately, he was proven right.
See that? Peak romance! ❤️

Im terrible at predicting storylines but im doing it anyway cause hyperfixations gotta hyperfixate.
We are all going through tommy withdrawals and it’s very clear he won’t physically show up until the finale (he may show up in the penultimate episode or be mentioned here and there but I’m not really counting on it or expecting as Buck won’t have the spotlight for this latter half of the season).
That being said, I’m actually cooking in my head that we could get one tommy mention when we eventually have a scene where buck calls eddie out for his dead wife clone situation. I expect them to have a fight and maybe say things they didn’t mean. I imagine eddie could go the route of “I always supported you, why can’t you support me?” or even throw a low blow, which would include a tommy mention, like “you lied to me about being on a date with tommy, so why are you mad at me?” (Which obviously isn’t the same thing cause buck not being secure enough in being bi and eddie cheating on his gf aren’t comparable, but eddie isn’t thinking clearly and he knows what to say if he wants to hurt someone), which could be a good damn reason for buck to cut him out, at least for now since we know eddie will be cast aside and isolated from his friends. I can imagine buck saying that the two situations aren’t the same, or even something like “Tommy isn’t an affair”.
I doubt this fight will drag on to next season though. There could be a chance for the season to end with some lose treads or even a big cliffhanger because the series is already renewed, so I can’t be 100% sure, but let’s see. What do yall think?

remember me
(I'm an asshole for writing this and I know it, but now you have to live with it too)
-
Tommy squeezes Evan’s hand lightly as they walk down the street. The blonde has been quieter as of late, not really letting on what’s going on inside his head. He’s not sure if it’s something happening at work or just noise inside Evan’s head from typical anxieties, but he tries not to push him when it feels like the younger man isn’t in a place where he’s ready to talk. Still, he’s curious.
“Are you worried about the transfer going through,” he asks softly, bumping lightly into Evan’s shoulder as they round a corner.
“No,” Evan murmurs back, not much louder than a whisper. “I didn’t put in for a transfer.”
Tommy furrows his brow slightly, glancing over at Evan again. “Oh. I thought you said-..”
“No,” Evan cuts him off, but his voice is still in that same low, soft tone. “You assumed.”
“You gonna take some time off,” Tommy asks. He’s not really sure what’s happening over at the 118, since the last time he spoke with Howie everything still seemed to be going well. Plus, it’s only been a few days since he last sparred with Eddie, and even he seemed to let on that things were still pretty normal over there. “See if things shake themselves out?”
“No,” Evan replies, pulling his hand away. Both of his hands slide into his pockets as he walks a few paces ahead of Tommy, and they round into an empty alley.
“Hey,” Tommy calls out to him softly. Evan stops walking and turns towards him, and a small smile pulls on the corners of Tommy’s mouth as he stares at his boyfriend. “What’re you gonna do?”
Evan stares at the ground between them for a beat, and when he looks up at Tommy, his eyes are glassy. Tommy gulps at the expression. He’s only seen Evan upset enough to cry a handful of times, and none of those moments have ever felt like this.
“I’m sick,” he rasps.
Tommy steps toward him, brushing his knuckles over Evan’s cheek and closing the space between them. “Okay. I’ll take you home. You’ll be better in a few days-..”
“No,” he growls lowly, his brow furrowing in frustration as he takes a half-step back. “Tommy. I’m sick.”
The older man stares at him for what feels like an age, whatever he’s saying not fully registering for him. Evan’s shoulders sink with a breath.
“I have leukemia.”
Something like a laugh comes out of Tommy’s mouth, but it’s not because he thinks the moment is funny. He shakes his head as he looks back at Evan. “No. You’re- you’re thirty-three. You’re perfect-…”
“No. No,” Evan stammers, shaking his head, biting on the inside of his lip briefly. “I found out a year and a half ago and I’ve stopped responding to treatments.”
Tommy stares at him with that same expression for a moment, quiet as he runs Evan’s words over in his head. He licks his lips and then sets his jaw for a moment. “So why didn’t you tell me?”
Evan inhales a deep breath as tears run over his waterline, shaking his head. “The doctors said i should go on living life as best I could. I- I didn’t want anybody to be weird around me.” His voice pitches higher as his emotions take over, his chin trembling.
“Including me?” Tommy asks, and he’s not yelling but his voice has picked up in volume.
“Especially you,” Evan replies, his resolve completely falling apart.
Tommy turns his head away as anger fully overtakes him at what he’s being told.
“You know, I was getting along with everything fine. I accepted it, and then you happened,” Evan tells him, and Tommy’s not sure if it’s the moment, or the new information, but it’s like he’s seeing Evan with brand new eyes, seeing what’s been in front of him the entire time. His sallow cheeks, the purple lines around his eyes, the way his skin isn’t as pink as it was when they first met. “I never saw you happening. And I do not need a reason to be angry about this.”
Tommy stares at him, anger still present on his face. Evan shakes his head again, stepping further away, but he only gets two or three more paces away before Tommy reaches out and grabs his wrist, pulling him back in.
“Wait, wait,” he rasps, pulling Evan back in close.
“I’m sorry,” Evan replies, his voice hoarse as Tommy bumps his nose up against Evan’s, resting their foreheads together. “I’m so sorry. I should’ve told you sooner.”
Tommy shakes his head, blinking away the tears in his own eyes. “No, I made you do too many things-…”
“No no no,” Evan argues, lifting his head and leaning back just enough to see Tommy clearly. “If anything, you’ve kept me healthy longer.”
Tommy gulps, taking a breath. He releases one of Evan’s arms and brings his fingers back up to his face, brushing against his jawline as his eyes skate over the younger man, trying to memorize him. He takes a breath.
“Are you scared,” he asks.
“To death,” Evan replies. Tears quickly flood Tommy’s eyes and run over and he looks away from him, his chin dropping. “Lighten up.”
“It’s not funny,” Tommy argues, looking back up at him. His other hand slides off of Evan’s wrist and around his back, pulling him closer. Evan takes a breath and then leans his forehead back against Tommy’s again, and Tommy closes his eyes, tries to breathe against the ache settling into his chest. When Evan pulls away and looks back up at him, his eyes are red-rimmed and lined with tears.
“I’m scared of not being with you,” he admits, his voice choking off into a whisper at the end as blue meets blue.
Tommy clenches his jaw, shaking his head as both of his hands come back to Evan’s face, pulling him closer. “Baby, that’ll never happen.”
Evan’s chest caves with a silent sob as Tommy presses his lips to his forehead and then pulls him in tightly. Evan curls his arms around Tommy’s shoulders, his tears running into the smooth material of the gray waffle-knit henley he’s wearing.
There are a million things he wants to say. I love you. Don’t leave me. Fight harder. Stay for me. I love you. But in that moment, all he can do is breathe and hold Evan closer, tighter.

Nervously, Wash pulled at the collar of his shirt and smoothed down his hair, running a hand over his face last minute. Calloused fingers slid over the smooth skin of his upper lip and he tried not to pull a face.
It felt weird not having his moustache, but it would be worth it. At least, he hoped so.
Slow footsteps echoed on the gridding of Serenity's ramp and Zoë stepped onto the sandy ground, her dark green dress glittering in the soft moonlight. A few wayward curls that fell out of the hairclip fluttered in the soft summer breeze and her dark brown eyes met his.
Definitely worth it.
"I see you shaved," she said, walking past him.
After a while, she stopped and turned back to look at him, lifting an eyebrow.
"You comin'? Or am I goin' on my own?"
Stumbling, Wash ran to catch up with her, awkwardly holding out a small bundle of wild flowers he had picked earlier.
Gently taking them, she smiled and the two of them made their way to the nearby town, their shadows prancing together in the moonlight.

Author's note -
Ngl, I missed yelling at y'all in the notes. I was trying something new but I realized I didn't like it, so. Back to my regular not-really-necessary notes it is!
Also, have any of y'all read the newest Firefly comic called Firefly: Verse' What if? Because damn, it was so good, it scratched an itch I didn't know I had and it made me cry. I really recommend reading it (Google's Play Books has it as far as I know). I'll also make a post about it later this month

What would be your top 5 characters and top 5 ships rankings if you have to pick from both Firefly and Dollhouse?
OOOOOOOOOOH VERY CONFRONTING QUESTION. two shows i love very much. okay okay okay
CHARACTERS:
priya tsetsang. an easy #1
inara serra
zoe washburne
tony ceccoli
topher brink
(secret #6 is river tam)
SHIPS:
priya/tony, obviously. otp of dreams.
wash/zoe
........ this is hard. lmao. there's just such a dearth of ships for me in both of these shows. i mean i can spin my web in a million directions, a million possibilities that i go HMM THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING! but nothing all that FIRM. that said, BENNETT/CAROLINE.
our galaxy brain throuple inara/simon/mal
adelle/dominic? i LOVE their dynamic and they'd have great angry sex. lol such a fascinating example of two characters who believe they're out to do the right thing but do really fucked up shit on their way there.
(secret #6 is boyd/clyde. evil villain otp of loving ur lover in every body they jump into, you're so in love with their evil warped soul. is that why boyd was suddenly so interested in claire after he found out she was a doll? bc he was turning on the metaphorical porchlight for his bodyswapping husband? LOTTA THINKING ABOUT THAT ONE)

Hi! Sambucky + #6, pretty please?
thanks for the ask <3 #6: things you said under the stars and in the grass (from this list)
There's a firefly within reaching distance, so it shouldn't be any surprise to Bucky that Sam automatically reaches up towards it.
He doesn't catch it like Bucky expects him to, like Bucky'd seen him do with Cass and AJ on warm summer nights down in Delacroix, but just lets his hands hover a few inches away until it blinks off outward into the night. Sam's arms fall back down to his stomach.
"You know how a lot of people get seasick when they're lying out on a boat?" Sam asks, a tinge of melancholy in his voice that doesn't match the lazy haze of the night. He doesn't look over to see if Bucky nods, but he does anyway. "Sometimes I think I've got the opposite of that. Watching the stars from solid ground feels wrong in a way I can't really explain."
They'd been in upstate New York for entirely too long, training some of the new kids at the compound to teach them how to work as a team, along with Sam training Joaquín on some of the more advanced techniques with the wings. Bucky's even starting to feel a little homesick for Delacroix, for the allure of Sarah's living room couch, so he can't imagine how much Sam must miss it.
"I heard Cass won his little league game last night," Bucky says, knowing both that talking about his nephews tends to take Sam's mind off of things and that the reminder that Bucky texts Sarah on occasion now might be enough to playful irritate the melancholy away for a while.
Sam huffs a laugh out of his nose and turns his head to look at Bucky, his eyebrow raised. "Man, what did I tell you about talking to my sister?"
Bucky makes an exaggerated show of putting his hands behind his head and getting comfortable, keeping his gaze fixed on the sky above him. "No flirting involved, I swear," he says in a cheeky voice that implies the exact opposite. He's fully aware Sam knows any amount of flirting with Sarah is playful by now, a fun way for both of them to tease Sam considering how obvious it is to everyone around that Bucky's got it bad for Sam himself.
They haven't really crossed any lines on that front yet, even though Bucky's almost positive it's mutual, but they both know they're driving towards it at a pretty steady pace.
Sam reaches over and pushes him gently, and Bucky makes an even bigger show of lurching to the side. "Ignoring the fact that you were absolutely flirting with my sister, yeah, Cass did win his little league game last night. They're going to some kind of tournament in NOLA next week, and he spent like an hour on FaceTime with me last night telling me about all of the stuff he's planning to pack and all of the places he wants to go visit while they're already in town."
Sam smiles to himself with that soft, sweet smile that always makes Bucky's heart flutter in his chest before his grin drops just enough to notice if you're looking.
Bucky's always looking.
"He asked me if I could go watch him and I told him I'd try, but it feels like just about every day there's something new to teach the kids or some new urgent mission to fly out to. Sarah said she'd tape the whole thing for me, but it's still not the same, you know?"
Perhaps bringing up the baseball game wasn't Bucky's best move, he thinks.
Sam sighs and rolls back over on his back for just a moment before pushing himself upright and standing up, lightly brushing off his shorts. "We should probably head inside. Gettin' kinda late, and we have kids to teach tomorrow."
There's a grumpy retort about having to teach these new overpowered children on the tip of Bucky's tongue, but he holds it back and just shakes his head. "You go ahead. I'll catch up soon."
Sam's eyebrows knit together, but he doesn't press. "Night, Buck. Sleep tight."
"Night, Sammy," he replies softly, when Sam's a little too far away to hear.
He fishes his phone out of his pocket and notes the late hour, but he figures Sharon's probably still up, so he dials her number anyways.
"You know business hours don't extend till eleven PM, right, Bucky?" she asks in lieu of a hello.
He thinks about teasing her about her time running a nightclub in the midst of a stolen art selling operation that definitely stayed open past normal business hours, but he decides against it. "Hey, Sharon? Any way that Sam could get this weekend off? Cass has a baseball game."
She hums. "You willing to tag in if the world catches fire?"
Bucky looks off in the direction that Sam had walked off in. "For Sam? Always."
