Favorite Character / Ship / Scene

@aubielikey: Fav character is Vash!! He is Everything to me. 

I enjoy lots of ships…fav to write/draw is VashMeryl, but fav overall might be VashWood??? 

Fav scene is hard to choose, but I think…Trimax Vash approaching his final conflict (Vol 12 Ch 1). The panels are gorgeous, and it is so, so poignant.

@chaoticbuka: Wolfwood is really interesting to me right now. Milly has been my ride or die since 2003. 

I am genuinely Multiship. Currently participating in the VW big bang while simultaneously up to my nose in MerylWood brain rot. 

As far as favorite scenes? Anything related to project seeds flashbacks; I love the lore.

@museqmeg: Vash my beloved. (He was my first anime crush back in the day!) 

I adore both vashmeryl & vashwood. They’re the most canon to the story and I’m a canon girly. I create for vashmeryl but consume so much vashwood. I just love to see Vash love and be loved. 

My favorite scene in Trimax is a bit of a silly one, but I adore the end when Vash “accidentally” admits his feelings (platonic/romantic-pick your poison) for Meryl by saying “We’re good together, aren’t we?” The panels after that are adorable. The surprised faces on Milly and Meryl with Vash blushing at them get me everytime. I love them all dearly.

@tombiwidgeon: I almost feel like I have to put Vash aside to pick a fav char because he's a given xD I'm going to go with Meryl in her new expanded role in Tristamp. She gets to play a much bigger part in the story, and in fact drives much of it forward. Her impetus to find the truth of the humanoid typhoon, who she only ever saw as a man even before meeting him, catapults her to right where she needs, and wants to be, to make a difference, especially in Ju Lai.

I multiship most everyone, though VashMeryl is my OTP.

Favorite scene was the hardest. I finally landed on Vash running to the sound of Meryl's/Rem's voice in S1 Ep12. The way Orange animated his desperation, including him wiping his hand across his face, just touched me so deeply. They are masters of their craft.

December OTP prompt #23/31

The various lights of the bridge of the docked Millenium Falcon were all that could be seen in Han Solo’s eyes. He stared blankly, confusion the only emotion that Leia could barely derive, seeding away the reflections of blue and red and trying to get to the hazel-green.

“Han,” Leia said, placing a hand on his. There was no change. “Han? Did you hear me?”

Han finally met her gaze. His lips were still parted, but he searched her. He tried to swallow his fear, but it came right back up.

“You’re sure?”

Leia smiled and nodded, almost laughing.

“Yes, I’m sure.”

Han finally allowed himself a chuckle.

“Wait, r-really?” He asked again, he couldn’t believe it. “You’re…” He loosely pointed at her stomach, looking as if he couldn’t stomach the words himself. “Right now you’re…”

Leia laughed again.

“Yes, now,” Leia said. “I’ve been told I’m about three months along.”

Han Solo finally accepted it as the truth, grabbing her by the shoulders with a giddy smile and forcing them both to stand up as they hugged.

The moment, however, was soon interrupted by a x-wing docking into the bay, sliding in carefully to the space station, obviously by the hand of a great pilot. Han and Leia withdrew from the hug to see red and gold blaring their vision. They squinted, even though they already knew who had arrived.

Leia and Han approached the X-wing as the ramp lowered to the ground, Leia preparing herself to spill the beans to her brother. However, she forgot all about it when she saw what he was carrying instead. Her hand unlatched from her husband’s.

Luke placed down a little green thing, with large, circular, brown, almost black eyes and fuzzy, pointed green ears. The little tyke was barely big enough for his own clothes, and he cooed as he looked at all the twinkling lights of the space station. His little gaze, however, looked at Leia when she knelt before him, studying him with a smile.

“Such a little thing to produce such a large beacon,” Leia said, gently rubbing his ear with her thumb. She looked up at Luke. “Does he have a name?”

“He doesn’t talk yet,” Luke explained. “But he told me through the force that his name is Grogu.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Grogu,” Leia said with a smile, before picking him up and holding him like Luke was. “I’m sure we’ll give you a fine home.”

“Did he tell you anything else?” Leia asked Luke, who approached.

“His species ages differently,” Luke continued. “He is technically fifty years old, but still very much a child. He hasn’t mentioned anything about biological parents, but he’s repeatedly called the man who found him his father. I suspect we’ll be getting a couple visits from him.” Luke smiled, seeing how Grogu leaned his head onto Leia’s shoulder, dozing off and likely tired from the trip.

“I think he likes you,” Luke observed.

“It’s probably because–”

Leia bit her tongue.

“Because what?” Luke asked, Leia smiled.

“I’ll tell you later,” Leia said. “After dinner. Han’s cooking.”

“Hey, wait a second,” they heard Han object behind them. “Can’t Chewie just do it again?”

One look from Leia and he sighed.

“Fine.”

rereading the PJO and HoO - part one: the lightning thief

before i start, all italicized parts are from the lightning thief by rick riordan. they're not my words and these are not my characters. my thoughts are the only thing that are mine :)

• "mom, you're coming too." her face was pale, her eyes as sad as when she looked at the ocean. "no!" i shouted, you are coming with me. help me carry grover". - the first(ish) appearance of percy's fatal flaw! i love the early establisment, especially because it helps foreshadow to the sea of monsters when fatal flaws are formally introduced.

• "that's -" "pasiphae's son," my mother said. "i wish i'd known how badly they wanted to kill you." - sally is underappreciated. she's smart as hell and clearly took the time to research demigods. yes, she was a little bit selfish with keeping percy out of the loop and not sending him to camp. but can you blame her? she lost all of her family and if she sent percy to CHB at an early age, that most nearly means she won't see him often (he'll attract monsters because he's aware of his status as a demigod and will most likely be at camp full-time). but sally ensured that she knew enough about the demigod world to protect percy because she knew that her selfishness would come with consequences. best mom.

• i was crying, calling for my mother, but i held on to grover - i wasn't going to let him go. - percy's first loss as a demigod and i am broken. honestly, so sad to think of, especially knowing all the losses he'll face in the future books. this line is also his fatal flaw showing once again (refer to first bulletpoint)

• "it (america) is the great power of the west. and so olympus is here. and we are here." - if olympus follows the west, where would the next location be? obviously, america is still a big powerhouse in terms of western civilization but that's not going to last. my bet is south korea but who knows? would love a fanfic on this tbh

• "the truth is, i can't be dead. you see, eons ago the gods granted my wish. i could continue the work i loved. i could be a teacher of heroes as long as humanity needed me. i gained so much from that wish... and i gave up so much. but i'm still here, so i can only assume i'm still needed." - how will it be decided that he's not needed? honestly, can't imagine CHB without him but chiron also deserves retirement

• i started to understand luke's bitterness and how he seemed to resent his father, hermes so okay, maybe gods had important things to do. but couldn't they call once in a while, or thunder or something? - percy has always showed some hesitance when accepting the demigod world, so i wasn't really surprised to see doubts like this pop up, especially with luke's influence. i'd think most demigods feel this way, luke and percy are just the ones who exhibit it the most in the series. i'm really interested in the parallels between the two and i'm looking forward to reading more and examining them

• "during the winter solstice, at the last council of the gods, zeus and poseidon had an argument. the usual nonsense: 'mother rhea always liked you best', 'air disasters are more spectacular than sea disasters', etc. - despite the fact that the gods are all-powerful beings, i appreciate the petty sibling spats that are mentioned briefly

• "so let me get this straight," i said. "i'm supposed to go to the underworld and confront the world of the dead." "check," chiron said. "find the most powerful weapon in the universe." "check." "and get it back to olympus before the summer solstice in ten days." "that's about right." i looked at grover, who gulped down the ace of heaers. "did i mention that maine is very nice this time of year?" he asked weakly. - this would be perfect for those 30 second trailers

• "gee," i said feigning surprise. "who else would be stupid enough to volunteer for a q uest like this?" the air shimmered behind chiron. annabeth became visible, stuffing her yankees cap into her back pocket. - the way he knows her pretty well already, i-

• the truth was, i didn't care about retrieving zeus' lightning bolt, or saving the world, or even helping my father out of trouble. - early on, we see from the get go that percy has a dislike for the gods. it's small mentions like this that really gets me thinking. he never really showed any dislike of the gods when he first arrived at camp (understandable) but he was hopeful for his father. it wasn't until luke planted the seed into his head that these thoughts came to light. i love this little detail, especially as we know that towards the end, luke does seem to think he can turn percy against the gods. his plan backfired a little bit on him in the end but like i said before, the parallels between luke and percy are so glaring. riordan definitely thought it out extensively

• do not be a pawn of the olympians, my dear. you would be better off as a statue - this is said to percy by medusa and again, feeds into his dislike of the gods. i wonder if monsters have some opinion on this. most would probably hate the gods but i wonder what their stance is on demigods. we know that they work with them (see kronos' army). the real enemy for monsters are the gods, the demigods killing them are just pawns to the gods so maybe that's how some monsters see them

• "so, what's your status?" luke asked me. "chiron will be sorry he missed you." i told him pretty much everything, including my dreams. it felt so good to see him, to feel like i was back at camp even for a few minutes, that i didn't even realize how long i had talked to him until the beeper went off on the spray machine. - there's no doubt that percy really considered luke a friend. he wasn't hesitant to tell luke about his dreams, something that he didn't share with annabeth or grover until later on the book. luke was a sort of mentor to percy and it was conveyed pretty well through their interactions, which makes his betrayal even more heartbreaking

• "you think you'll ever try living with your dad again?" she wouldn't meet my eyes. "please. i'm not into self-inflicted pain." - my heart breaks for annabeth and her relationship with her father. i've read most of the riordanverse books and the growth in annabeth's relationship with her family is definitely something i'm looking forward to watch grow as i make my way through the books again

• i looked over at the desk and saw a girl sitting there, also wearing a straitjacket - so i never paid the dreams any mind but now that i think about it, they're really good for analysis. for example, the straitjacket could mean something like the gods are keeping them restrained. maybe i'm overthinking it or have been analyzing text too much in AP english but i think that the dreams are worth some deeper thinking

• i pretended not to see annabeth wipe a tear from her cheek as she listened to the mournful keening of cerberus in the distance, longing for his new friend - i need to see annabeth play with cerberus again D:

• i turned and faced my mother. i desperately wanted to sacrifice myself and the last pearl on her, but i knew what she would say. she would never allow it. i had to get the bolt back to olympus and tell zeus the truth. i had to stop the war. - percy's growth as a character really shines through here. the lightning thief is a pretty short book and the journey they took was less than 2 weeks but despite that percy's grown immensely as a character. his goal was always to save his mother but in the end, he sacrificed her because he knew it was his duty to save olympus and i respect that

• "you have made an enemy, godling," he told me. "you have sealed your fate. every time you raise your blade in battle, everytime you hope for success, you will feel my curse. beware, perseus jackson. beware." - ares cursed percy to be unsuccesful in battle but does his curse ever take effect? i don't recall any mention of this curse later on the series. obviously, percy is the main character and a really good swordfighter but the curse might have affected some battles right? but then again riordan has a lot of plotholes so i wouldn't put too much thought in it

• i knew dionysus must've filled it out, because he stubbornly insisted on getting my name wrong. - i've always accepted the fact that dionysus called the demigods by their wrong name for humor. but what if it's deeper? what if it's a way to put some space between him and the demigods, just as an extra precaution so he won't get attached. or it could be a ploy to showcase that he's more powerful than them and that they are beneath him, which is why he doesn't need to know their name. i like the former headcanon more though :P

• i opened my eyes. i was propped up in bed in the sickroom of the big house, my right hand bandaged like a club. argus stood guard in the corner. annabeth sat next to me, holding my nectar glass and dabbing a washcloth on my forehead. "here we are again," i said. - the parallel

well, that's everything i had notes on. overall, i liked rereading it. i really do miss this series and i'm finding my love for it be rekindled by rereading. i miss the humor of the early books (i could literally make a whole post of underrated lines). the last time i read the series in its whole was when i was 7 and now that i'm 16, i have more thoughts and can analyze the story better. also loved seeing baby percabeth as they're my OTP. i'm excited to continue with the series. to the sea of monsters!

favorite thing about them: his fallible dedication to the truth. he’s always dedicated but sometimes it leads him to incorrect conclusions and it’s just so refreshing nowadays to see a protagonist who isn’t portrayed/written as necessarily being right, just... possessing the bare minimum of morals. (also, if mulder’s morals are the bare minimum, where does that leave everyone else...)

least favorite thing about them: i mean, i guess the way the search for the truth can sometimes trump his care for other people, but that happens in the plot episodes of s6 so it’s kinda debatable as to whether that’s in character lol. i don’t really have a least favorite thing because, as scully kinda said in iwtb, all those “bad” things about him are just one side of the coins that make up fox mulder - the flip side are the things that make her (and us) love him.

favorite line: oof, that’s a hard one. i guess a lot of my faves echo the same sentiment, so i’ll go with, “i don’t know if any god is listening, but i am standing right here,” from “nothing lasts forever”. i’m a sucker for mulder choosing to stand by scully’s side.

brOTP: mulder + the gunmen. it’s so wonderful having supportive friends.

OTP: MSR, obviously.

nOTP: diana. no contest.

random headcanon: he doesn’t actually know how to eat sunflower seeds, he just picked them up at a gas station on the way to bellefleur because all the other snacks looked questionable. this is supported by the fact that dd didn’t know how to eat sunflower seeds when the pilot was being filmed, as evidenced by the fact that he was holding them to his lips instead of popping them in his mouth.

unpopular opinion: mulder’s hair is utterly unremarkable. if there’s no curlicue in the front then idc. can we talk about the way scully’s hair color changes over the course of the show?

favorite thing about them: honestly everything about naegi i like a lot. i know a lot of people dumb him down to cute nice puppy but he’s so much more than that and it makes me mad when that happens. like yeah hes nice and cares about people but hes absolutely not a doormat when it comes to the things he cares deeply about (ie. cursing out junko which in the japanese dub he absolutely doesnt hesitate on). i think a lot of people fail to realize just how strong he actually is even if it’s not physically.

least favorite thing about them: i honestly have no clue all my grievances involve how fans usually characterize him.

favorite line: also no idea! naegi has too many lines for me to remember but if i had to choose probably the thaursday quote (ik its generic but its the only one coming to mind HDKSJCJ). also it sounds like something straight out of my brain which i enjoy.

brotp: naegi and the thh survivors!!! i love his relationship with all of them so much especially after theyve been with the future foundation for a couple of years and have regained their memories and you can tell how relaxed and just. happier? they are to be with each other after the killing game. i also like naegi and ikusaba because while i dont really care for it romantically but i still think their relationship could be really interesting. also naegi and hinata

otp: again, kamuegi. i already mentioned why i think theyd work well together but honestly i think naegi himself would really care about kamukura. i think he’d def start out being put off by kamukura since kamukura can be pretty cold but i think he’d make it his goal to see kamukura happy and able to interact with the survivors and other people in a meaningful way other than just putting them off bc theyre boring. eventually i think naegi would fall for the parts of kamukura that are human. not talent. not whatever hopes peak has instilled in him. just kamukura himself. i also think naegi would find him endearing in an odd way? idk. kamukura doesnt show much emotion so when he does do something vaguely emotional it would make naegi feel things.

I also see people say hes too optimistic and is boring so that means hes not relatable but as somebody who had a problem with suppressing my negative emotions i can definitely see him just ignoring all his insecurities instead of facing them head on in order to deal with the bad shit happening to him. however at the same time i also see him not doing that! so who knows. i think naegi is a lot more complex than people give him credit for though

Best: I enjoy the second half of this two-parter so much more than the first half. Michael McKean is great in both but once Scully realizes he’s not Mulder her high key impatience with and dismissal of Fletcher is perfection.

Worst: I know Fletcher is supposed to be the worst but his objectification of Scully just grates on me - I think because we never see Scully treated like that on the show. The ass taps are played for laughs and I just... 😐

Rewatch Thoughts:

It was all a dream: Scully asks Mulder if he would ever want to live a normal life and then he gets dumped into his worst nightmare of what that suburban life would look like. But... it’s all undone by the end of the two-parter and he doesn’t even remember it. It is an ingenious solution to Mulder’s no bed situation (and I love that they don’t reveal that it was the waterbed that stuck around until it becomes a plot point later this season in 6x14 Monday)

Fletcher-as-Mulder’s offer of a home-cooked meal is the moment Scully truly believes he’s not really Mulder. She realizes the truth at the convenience store because she knows Mulder would never betray a source like that. But that moment at the office is when she truly believes it.

This ending is just so warm, they’re expressing their fondness for each other in their own oblique ways. Scully: Mulder, I’m sorry your confidential source didn’t pan out... Good night. Mulder: Hey, Scully? I know it’s not your normal life, but... Thanks for coming out there with me. Scully: You’re welcome. It feels like after their rift in the season premiere and the disaster of the last episode when Mulder struck out on his own, they’re figuring out how to function without the X-Files. Of course we’ll see in the next episode that they still don’t know how to spend time together without the excuse of an X-File 🙄 but, baby steps.

Madoka ran and dodged the Witch's attacks. She summoned her bow & arrow. "Look out!" Mami called. A familiar was behind Madoka. Mami's ribbons restrained the familiar. She then created guns out of her ribbons and began shooting. "Mami-san, thank you" Madoka said. She set her bow to her arrow, then released it. The arrow met its mark on the Witch. "Good job, Kaname-san" Mami said. "Are you ready for the final blow?" "Yes!" Madoka said. Madoka and Mami held hands and Mami twirled Madoka.

"Tiro Duet!"

The Witch was gone and the labyrith disappeared. A Grief Seed dropped. Mami picked it up. "You can have this one, Kaname-san" she said, "since you fought really well today." "Really? Thank you so much, Mami-san!" Madoka said. "Would you like to come to my place for some snacks?" Mami asked. "Of course!" Madoka could never miss snacks from Mami.

At her house, Mami gave Madoka some tea and a slice of cake. Madoka took a piece of the cake with her spoon and ate it. "Mmm, this is so delicious!" she said. "Your cakes are the best, Mami-san!" "Thank you Kaname-san. I'm glad you feel that way" Mami said, smiling.

"You've grown a lot since you first became a magical girl" Mami said. "You're getting much better at fighting." "That's because I learned from you!" Madoka enthused. "Oh come on, I'm not that great" Mami blushed at Madoka's words. "But you are!" Madoka went on. "You're kind, brave, strong, you're always thinking of others! I really look up to you, Mami-san! I want to be more like you!" At this, Mami's expression changed. Her smile disappeared. "I really don't think you should look up to me as a role model" she said. "Mami-san?"

"I may seem like those things, but the truth is I'm not strong. I just put on a facade so I can seem brave and strong but I'm really not that. I've..... always been lonely. I live alone, I don't have many friends at school. You see, before I met you, I mentored other magical girls, but in the end, they would always go away." "But why would they go away?" Madoka asked. "You're the best mentor around." "I don't know" Mami sighed. "I really don't know what went wrong. I thought I was teaching them to be good people. But in the end, they always left me. In the end, I was always by myself."

Mami looked back. "Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry for all that. Do you want more tea?" "No, its fine" Madoka said. "I'm glad you told me all that. We're friends now after all. You can tell me anything." "We're.... friends...?" "Yes" Madoka said. "You're not alone anymore, Mami-san. Because the two of us are friends now. And..... even with all you said, I still admire you." "But, I did say I'm not that strong. I just put on a facade so people would like me." "I like you regardless" Madoka said. "You telling me what you've gone through is also bravery. You know that I'm not too special...." "No Kaname-san, don't say that" Mami said. "You're special to me." Madoka blushed. "I'm glad you feel that way" she said. I see plenty of posts about Blue Lions eagerly waiting for the Dimileth shoe to drop. But I raise you this: Friendly Neighborhood Shipper Gatekeeper.

That’s right, our friend the Friendly Gatekeeper is the ultimate Dimileth shipper.

Gatekeeper learned early on how to read Byleth’s stoic face, and has been able to tell even the tiniest details in their mood, I’m talking “Oh no! Professor’s eyebrows are .02% lower than before! The Professor must be super upset about something!”

Gatekeeper is a Byleth savant! He speaks Byleth and is the a professional Byleth translator. He got his degree in five minutes because that’s all it took after meeting Byleth for him to decide that they’re obviously #BFFs5Ever

So OF COURSE he’s going to notice if the Professor is slowly catching feelings for anyone. He probably realizes even before Byleth and he doesn’t have even half the context. But, *gasp*, it’s forbidden. A teacher and their student? Oh noooooo, it was never meant to BE! 

Note he probably doesn’t even know WHO Byleth has feelings for because he never leaves that dumb gate. He just knows that his bestest friend is going through FORBIDDEN LOVE! (He refuses to believe they’re in love with someone in faculty because he would have heard rumors by now).

This is cause for drastic action!

Gatekeeper takes a day off.

Yes! A day off from guarding the gate!

This is a matter of life and death! His best friend needs him Goddess damn it all! He needs to do reconnaissance! For the professor! He needs to find the fiend that stole their heart and find a flaw in them so Byleth can move on!

Note that Byleth doesn’t even realize they’re catching feelings yet.

So Gatekeeper spends the whole day spying, looking for the despicable scum that wooed their best friend with their willy willy seductive ways. He’s stalking the professor the whole day and being totally obvious about it. Sorry Gatekeeper, everyone knows you’re hiding behind that bush. Byleth is just a good friend and not letting anyone call you out.

The Blue Lions all think the Gatekeeper is stalking Byleth. Felix offers to duel him. Ingrid just advises that Byleth report him to Seteth. Byleth, knowing that’s their bro, just tells the students it’s no concern and goes to see what the heck is going on. To which Gatekeeper, caught, does the only thing a man in his position can do and bursts out the whole truth through his tears. Bawling about how he knows about this seductive seducer that been trying to claim their heart with their fiendish ways, and how he was worried, and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to the professor because it’s his duty as their BFF to make sure that their heart remains unbroken.

The Blue Lions are...flabbergasted to say the least.

Then it’s full on panic mode because WHAT? What seductive seducer? Who is trying to steal Byleth’s heart?

And Gatekeeper is all like, “That’s what I was trying to find out!”

And now Gatekeeper has a class of baby lions basically spun into a panic thinking that there’s another Sylvain going around trying to seduce Byleth, only they’re a fiend out to purposely break their heart or something.

They’re pretty livid about the idea.

Gatekeeper is escorted out of the class by a mildly confused Byleth who promises to spend the day “mending their broken heart” with the Gatekeeper, leaving behind a very confused class, a Sylvain who wants to snoop because “what the fuck”, and a mildly jealous Dimitri. The incident isn’t forgotten, per se, but it’s brushed off.

Cut to five years later.

By now Gatekeeper is much more protective of their friend, what with them having gone missing for five years. But he’s still able to read them like a book, and it’s only gotten easier with time and their growing emotions. 

So it’s pretty easy to tell they’re head over heels.

He just doesn’t know with who.

But his friend is SAD.

SAD!

Who would dare make them SAD!!!!!!?!?!

It’s sin!

Be can’t take a day off to stop guarding like he used to, but he dang well keeps an eye open! He’s got them peeled, he’s watching everyone, he’s going to catch this fiendish fiend!

But whoever it is never shows up at the front gate with the professor. He just can’t seem to find them in the same room with them any other time either. And the professor is getting sadder and sadder, and even everything going well and having nothing to report is making them happy. 

So Gatekeeper does the only thing he can.

He takes it upon himself to find someone else for the professor!

Now, love doesn’t just go away. It’s going to take some time to mend a broken heart, plant some seeds of romance, but he’s going to do it! In the name of friendship!

So he goes to the one person he thinks is as much Byleth’s friend as he is.

The Prince!

The professor spends a lot of time with him! And they’re always talking about them, and...and...

Oh.

Wow.

Gatekeeper is floored. Now it all makes sense! So much sense! The prince had been grumpy for months before that whole thing where he got better! Professor was always mentioning him! And..and..

Interrogation time!

So Gatekeeper, not a strong or powerful man, but filled with enough determination to fuel a Smash Competition, marches up to the Prince of Faerghus and just stares at him.

Poor Dimitri is so confused. He’s wondering what he did to piss off this guy, and if he accidentally killed his brother or something. He’s already moving to apologize, but Gatekeeper is already on him. Demanding to know his favorite foods, and color, and what does he finds romantic, and how he feels about dogs.

Dimitri is so fucking tired.

He’s so confused, but he just rolls with it because he’s newly on the atonement train and doesn’t wanna be an asshole, and figures this is just someone’s weird way of making sure he wasn’t going to kill everyone in the room and then himself.

Wanting to know his ideal date is strange though.

The convo actually takes a surprisingly heartwarming turn soon after though, when both men end up talking about Byleth and how much they mean to the both of them. Gatekeeper goes on about how Byleth is his best friend, and makes days guarding the gate seem like the most important job in the world, and Dimitri goes on about how without Byleth he’d still be lost. And suddenly they’re bonding over small things too, like chamomile tea, and lances, and fond memories they have of Garreg Mach. And, suddenly, Dimitri and Gatekeeper both have a new friend.

And Gatekeeper, after so long of Byleth friendship, has learned to notice when people are #Feeling and not noticing, and it’s pretty easy by the way Dimitri smiles when he says the professor’s name, and how he looks when he talks about them, and that tiny tiny smile that he’s pretty head over heels himself.

Gatekeeper quickly goes from over protective friend to rabid shipping fangirl watching their OTP on the fast track to becoming canon. He might squeal a bit when he gets back to his bunk that night. Every second of his life the next day is consumed by the mighty need to watch these two get married yesterday please.

His poor shipping heart can’t take it.

His eyes are on them whenever they walk by. He has to physically refrain from dying and mentioning how much they should kiss. He’s dying. Someone help this man.

He cries when they announce their engagement. 

He gets to guard the wedding.

Ghosts for the fandom ask as well! 👀

The first character I ever fell in love with: Thomas Thorne. “Ah, she’s gone” remains one hell of a delightful line delivery. And his following melodrama was just amazing to sit through. I love dramatic™ bitches.

A character that I used to love/like, but now do not: I... honestly don’t know? Like, I generally like every character in this series and that’s not particularly a small feat. I suppose if I had to choose... the Captain or Mike, and only because I’ve come to realize their later more self-centered/forcible moments were there from the get-go, from the Captain’s complaining about Fanny’s screaming and Mike taking out a loan without talking about it with Alison while she was in a coma, not necessarily because I dislike them.

A ship that I used to love/like, but now do not: Ummm, none! I generally agree with the ships in this series. 

My ultimate favorite character™: Thomas Thorne, he usually guarantees a laugh with any line reading, he looks good, he usually holds back before his crush on Alison gets too creepy, The Thomas Thorne Affair and Free Pass helps explain his more romantic tendencies and the former genuinely floored me with some of its twists and that last revelation broke my damn heart. Poor Isabelle and Thomas. They lost so much because the first Lord Button was a selfish arse. And I adore that Thomas was the first one who sung along In the Bleak Midwinter with Alison. I hope all the best for him.

Prettiest character: Kitty or Thomas. Kitty’s more my type, and I love her dress, but Thomas has those floofy locks to die for.

My most hated character: FUCK LORD BUTTON THE FIRST WITH A MUSKET BALL. That being said, I don’t come out of the Christmas Special respecting Mike’s sisters. And, depending on how Kitty’s backstory goes, her sister’s set to replace Lord Button the First. Honestly, I feel like I come out of this series hating cousins and sisters.

My OTP: Mike/Alison. Aside from some hiccups, Mike’s genuinely supportive and follows Alison’s lead and Alison grounds Mike’s eccentrics or flights of fear. They’re not friction-less, but they feel lived-in, have little jokes with each other, and are a couple who love each other and work through their problems.

My NOTP: Yeah, still none.

Favorite episode: Man, there’s a spoil of riches in Season 2 alone, but I keep revisiting Happy Death Day, Getting Out, About Last Night, Redding Weddy, The Thomas Thorne Affair, and Bump in the Night. If I had to narrow it down... The Thomas Thorne Affair, Bump in the Night or The Ghost of Christmas all vie for favorite.

The Thomas Thorne Affair is the best flashback episode Ghosts got, given it’s got a ton of narrative room to breathe around the death in question (I love Redding Weddy, but I wanted more scenes between the Captain and Lieutenant Havers), allowing for multiple perspectives to see the death, and I love how many holes get plugged up by POVs like Kitty’s or get misdirected off-track like Robin’s or get made into a more interesting imaginary scenario like the Captain’s (real talk, his take never fails to make me laugh, bless you, Captain). It’s all hilarious (that bird getting shot by Thomas’ gun as he falls is my second-guiltiest laugh of the series) but it also speaks to a very real idea of our memories: that we edit, we revise, we look back with nostalgia or clean up the messier bits. Add in the twists and the Mike subplot and it all adds up to a tragic tale whose theme is about how another man’s utter selfishness is capable of destroying a relationship between two lovers through violence, either directly or by proxy. It’s delightfully hilarious, but it hits so hard and Thomas’ words about the truth making it all worse twists my heart.

I feel Bump in the Night is the funniest episode Ghosts’ got. It’s not particularly serious, there are no real stakes, given one of the burglars is terrible at theft, it’s just a bunch of total morons fumbling through a breaking-and-entering and it’s amazing. Fanny complaining that the burglars are terrible at theft, the Ghosts calling for 999, only to not think through how to communicate, them trying to communicate with Mike via a creepy doll’s eyelids, Alison immediately realizing Mike’s in the wardrobe, Julian writing “2 of them” instead of 2 like a non-dumbass, MIKE IN THE SUIT OF ARMOR, it’s all amazingly funny, but at the same time, it’s all underlined by the emotional truth that Alison, Mike, and the Ghosts have come far enough that the Ghosts are willing to help them out because they like them, instead of scaring them off or causing problems like in Season 1. Alison verbalizes it, but the more touching scene is how she thanks Robin, the Ghost that first scared her because he had nothing better to do, for getting Barclay to help them and he just nods humbly back. This episode is full of idiots, but it’s got a decent amount of heart in it that gives it weight beyond the laughs.

The Ghost of Christmas probably has one of my favorite theses on why we endure the holidays with our families, despite it never being as magical as can be. There’s stuff to nitpick like how I don’t like how Mike’s sisters delight in Mike throwing a fit, going so far to film it, and some of Julian’s scenes with the baby run a bit long for my taste, but I really do like Julian’s summation of Christmas: that it’s perfect because it’s not perfect and that we should be grateful of any time we spend with family, because it will all go away someday, as the ghosts can testify. We take the good with the bad. There are some delightful humor bits like the Ghosts needling the Captain and Thomas to join in on Twister, Fanny looking up at the tall tree from the seeds they planted, Mike’s dad having a chainsaw, and Julian waving off his daughter being a MP of the Green Party (screw you, Julian, she rules because of that), but there’s also the theme of family in the emotional scene. When Mike’s dad tells him they’re overbearing because someday they won’t get to do things for him, there’s a heartwarming irony that, even past death, the Ghosts are there for Alison, their newest family member. This episode made me realize just how... barren Alison’s biological family connections are from the first episode’s mentioning that there were no other direct relatives. And In the Bleak Midwinter is a gorgeous song that cuts as a certain truth: just because others can’t see your family doesn’t make them any less real to you. 

Saddest death: Thomas dying all alone at the tree, no one living by his side, feeling the sting of being rejected one final time at the end because his cousin was a selfish arse who capitalized on a woman he didn’t love for her estate? God, this bears repeating, but fuck Lord Button the First.

Favorite season: Oh, definitely Season 2. I love Season 1, but I’m not a huge fan of second-hand embarrassment and seeing Alison get embarrassed by her reacting to ghosts that others can’t see made me wince quite a few times. I much prefer Season 2′s handling of Alison and the Ghosts and how they work.

Least favorite season: Season 1. I don’t take to the more second-hand embarrassment humor of that season, but I do love every episode except Free Pass. It’s still a great season with episodes like Happy Death Day, Moonah Ston, and Getting Out. Special mention to Happy Death Day, which was the first time I realized Ghosts could balance the comedy and the darkness with sincere emotion without them undercutting each other at the wrong time.

Character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: Now? Not really. In the first season though, I sometimes found Kitty a little too grating, possessive, and intrusive. Not that I don’t get where she’s coming from, her childhood sounds lonely and painful in ways she doesn’t fully comprehend and ghosthood hasn’t exactly made her any less lonely in some ways, most times I understand, but sometimes, like at the start of Getting Out where I feel she really should pump the brakes. 

That being said, her backstory’s gonna break me. I just know it.

My ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: Fanny or the Captain. They really can be abrasive or domineering in that first season, the Captain steamrolling over Pat from time to time and Lady Fanny’s nitpicking and homophobia, but I do get why they are that way and they do get better.

My ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: Kitty, who deserves all the blankets for that childhood. Mary, who likely has a mental illness and got burnt because of that. Humphrey, who doesn’t deserve being ignored by the Ghosts.

My ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: Thomas/Alison. Thomas, sometimes, your behavior can get a little too much regarding Alison. That first (thankfully only) peep at her in the shower, I know you’ve been frustrated for years as a Ghost, but noooooooo. That being said, when Thomas respects her boundaries and is a supportive friend (have I mentioned how touching In the Bleak Midwinter is?), I dig them.

My ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: Pat/Cap. Not that I don’t get it, and it promises heartwarming feels and heartbreak (Pat moving on after they hook up and Captain having to watch another leave him again, but this time, Captain got to admit his feelings before the leaving) and they are rather adorable together, but I’m more waiting for the narrative to acknowledge the possibility before launching myself into the ship full-time.

favorite line

My favorite little bit from her is from when you answer the phone after taking hold of Eden’s Convent. It’s weirdly hopeful to me but given how the lines are delivered its got this haunting and chilling feel that I just love! And honestly there are a lot of times that I feel like she describes (to an extent).

Given that she was not the first Faith the current one had to go through the whole process of joining Eden’s Gate so she would have a sin etched on her skin. Long time ago I put a post out there asking if anyone else had any ideas and I saw someone’s reasoning for there to be ENVY somewhere on her and I agree with it. So in my canon she has ENVY along her left ribs.

I don’t know how unpopular of an opinion this is honestly? Now don’t get me wrong I am still so in agreeance with Faith being manipulative and what not, I also think though that there is a lot of truth to what she says in what happened to her. Given this I also believe that there’s more to the whole acting like a child than just manipulation with the current Faith. There’s some evidence to suggest that some people when they haven’t had much of a childhood or ability to fully go through the stages of growing up in a healthy manner that once in a place of safety one could sort of regress back to enacting some of those behaviors. So to me there is a pure innocence about her since there wasn’t much of a chance to feel and experience that. She really fell easily into Joseph’s hands as she projected onto him a kind and loving father (pardon the pun) which is something that she needed, I would also like to assume that she would have seen the Faith at the time as a mother figure and well there she has it the parents she wanted and needed. She still has that manipulation, that survival instinct, that makes her dangerous, she just also has that child within her that she really does try to keep buried as she sees where it got her, that part just can’t stay down for very long.

Okay this is from a full set but its what came up in the search of the gifs for tumblr. But! This design of Faith is just one of my absolute favorites of ALL TIME! Like I just love the idea of seeing Faith in more casual clothing like it just ugh it gets to me man!

Hi! I’ve been really busy this past week but I’m better, thank you and thanks for asking too! I did the three of them because I just love all of them :D

001 Ship: KdFd

When I started shipping it if I did:

Here it's again the story of how my little brother with only 10 years opened my eyes and changed my life. So we were watching Inazuma Eleven 3rd season (before the rewatch) and I was watching the anime without shipping (or realizing) anything at that moment. Then my brother sighed and told me "Jude and Caleb should marry, they're so obviously in love" and I was like OMG it's TRUE. (Funny thing is that he has this good sense for canon ships, like he said Korra and Asami would end together when half first season was on and has done it with other couples too -also he could adivine who would fall on an ice skating rink, he would be a very good fortune teller-)

My thoughts:

They're my OTP. Like, they're the ship I like most of every ship I ship. And I have some old “growing with” ships in the list like pokeshipping, takari and harutake, which are from some animes that were truly important to me as a child and so are these ships.

I love Kidou and Fudou as individuals, as friends and as a couple. Fudou is my favourite character from Inazuma (and my favourite character in general). And well, I just adore their relationship so much, like they're so pure somehow. I love their moments, their episodes, their hissatsus. I was really excited when Killer Fields happened. And the match against Team K or the Demons/Fallen Angel. I love so much when they're holding hands, such a moment.

So, summarizing I LOVE THEM.

What makes me happy about them:

THEY, EVERYTHING about them makes me happy. I love watching anything about them. And I love creating drawings/stories about them because I just love them so much.

What makes me sad about them:

Ares/Orion. But as I don't like it in general… Something I missed was Kidou not returning to Teikoku in the end of OG. But I also would have liked them interacting in Go. Like, I want to rewrite Go movie so Fudou can go save Kidou when he is kidnapped.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Here I really have something. When they make Fudou not being faithful to Kidou just for drama or kinks. When I don't like a summary I don't go further but I found twice something not expected in tags or warning and well, went sad because to me they are LOVE made couple. 

Also, this is very particular and based in personal trauma. I don't like smoking Fudou. I don't like smoking characters in general, because my mother smoked when I was little and somehow this is a traumatic experience. But I can go with it. Like I'll read the story although I don't enjoy this specific little thing.

Things I look for in fanfic:

If they're there in a respectful relationship or going to it, I'm on board. I love them so much that I'll read almost anything with them. I even read a story where Kidou died and I didn’t like them but the story was beautiful.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

I can't imagine another person for them. And what's more I never saw Kidou as an easy partner. I think it's hard to go on with him based on his personality, but that's just my view of him.

My happily ever after for them:

While I like the idea of them working as professional football players I absolutely love the idea of Fudou and Kidou being the first ones to start the time travelling thing. Like first investigations, first ideas of how this is in fact possible, etc. Maybe not being able to travel, but putting the seeds for further investigations.

So, they marry after Genda and Sakuma. They’re in the Japan Football Team but as the same time they work in their own business of ingenery/physics helping with prototypes of really complex technology (I can see them working in collaboration with Tatsuya and Midorikawa). They have three kids and live in an expensive and luxurious flat near a park. They often travel to Italy, they even have a second residence there. They in fact (as any other couple you can ask me) have a long and happy married life. Kidou dies first, Fudou’s the last one of his friends and he makes a special bond with his great grandson Kidou Akira.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon:

Fudou is the big spoon most of the time to cheer Kidou up. Sometimes despiste it is Kidou who hugs Fudou from the back.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity:

Watching Happy Feet 😂😂 ok, seriously. I imagine them being very competitive so they enjoy any game they can play. Chess, Go, Super Smash Bros, Monopoly, any game. They enjoy playing and trying to beat the other so the winner can show dominance.

I also think they'd enjoy walking at night together and sitting on a bench (Kidou's romantic rival) just to breathe air and hold hands in silence, sometimes they'd talk, sometimes they wouldn't.

001 Ship: SomeFubu

When I started shipping it if I did:

The truth is that the first time I watched Inazuma I didn’t like Fubuki, the anime was in middle of the second arc and I didn't understand what was going on. It also happened someone I didn't like loved Fubuki. So it took me some time to like Fubuki and start shipping him with Someoka who is one of my favs. More truth to be said, Someoka was the one that helped me to like Fubuki XD The scene that started everything was the one of "being like the wind together" and AND the Ogre movie. When Someoka gives his T-shirt to Fubuki to defend Raimon, he didn't know him yet and still trust him so much. Being Someoka that meant a lot.

My thoughts:

I adore Someoka so for me is a bit unbalanced, I mean, I love Someoka so so much that Fubuki doesn’t get all my focus here. Anyways, this couple is just adorable, the thing I like most is thinking that Someoka would be so soft and tender with Fubuki, Someoka loves everything in him, he knows him so much. You can’t convince me that Someoka wouldn’t be the best boyfriend ever. And Fubuki would absolutely love him back at 200% or more, supporting his dreams, improving his self steem and being for Someoka when he needs it. I like to imagine them as one of these extra sweet couples.

What makes me happy about them:

I’m always happy when I know someone else ship them because they are amazing. But as they’re not canon there’s no so much content. BUT the only good thing Ares had to me was Someoka being in Hakuren Team (I don’t like how he was used there, but well… that’s another story). And I love watching art or reading of them.

What makes me sad about them:

People being assholes and insulting Someoka and Someoka’s fans. Especially when they ship Fubuki with Gouenji. Ship whatever you want to ship and leave the others alone. Don’t come insulting us.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Sometimes I find that SomeFubu relationship is portrayed as toxic as hell and Someoka is really abusive. And that makes me sad even if I’m not going to read that.

Things I look for in fanfic:

Fluff, comfort, daily life. Happy stories.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

I don’t have any particular ship for them aside from SomeFubu. But if not with Fubuki I wish Someoka to be with the BEST PERSON he could dream.

My happily ever after for them:

They live in a little house in a little town in Hokkaido. Someoka at least plays in the National Team and Fubuki is Hakuren’s Coach. They both play in a smaller local team too. When they are too old to play in the National I can see them running an Adventure and Excursion business, maybe aimed at children so they can enjoy and have fun at the mountain. They have a daughter and a fox Someoka rescued.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon:

Someoka is the big spoon and he loves it.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity:

I really think they’d love to go skiing and snowboarding together, in general they’d love to enjoy snow and then go back home to drink hot cocoa. I also see them cooking together, being the main chef Someoka and Fubuki helping him with the little things like putting near the salt or taking the carrots out of the fridge.

001 Ship: GouTora

When I started shipping it if I did:

If I remember right it was in the match against Fire Dragon. But I’m not so sure with this ship, it could be sooner, but not later.

My thoughts:

I am usually don’t like so much ships where one of them starts with such an admiration for the other because I think they tend to not be healthy. But Idk, I just love them so much? I love Toramaru, I don’t usually talk or write about him but he is one of my favourite characters and I totally felt with this ship. I like the idea that Gouenji can be himself with him too, even if this means that he is sometimes a bit mean or impatient, not that he can mistreat Toramaru because he wouldn’t, just not need to be always perfect.

What makes me happy about them:

I love how their relationship evolves and how Toramaru wins confidence in the anime. I think that shipping or not shipping it’s a really nice relationship. And I also really really like Tiger Storm. I was also happy that in Go Toramaru is the only one of Gouenji’s friends to whom he not only told the truth but asked for help, like their bond is so lovely.

What makes me sad about them:

Not about them, but I was sad Toramaru wasn’t in Inazuma Legend Japan. I think he was in the bench, with Tachimukai, Midorikawa and all the others that didn’t appear in the Team, you can’t change my mind.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Not sure, I didn’t see many fanfic for them ;v; which is the most sad. So, the lack of stories.

Things I look for in fanfic:

As there are only a few fan fics of them I think I’d like whatever I can find if they don’t have my no-no (main character death, and so)

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

I don’t have any other for Gouenji but for Toramaru would be Gouenji’s sister Yuuka :,) (I prefer her with Yuuichi anyways).

My happily ever after for them:

Toramaru runs his Detective Agency and Gouenji plays in a national team (can be boring but they are football players so being professionals I suppose is the best for all of them ;v;). They live in Okinawa, near the sea. Being neighbours with TsunaTachi and HIjikata. They have a really really really big dog called Tiger because owning tigers isn’t allowed (as Gouenji discovered). They’d have 3-5 children, adopted from Hijikata orphanage. When retired Gouenji starts working as a doctor because he actually studied Medicine and because I fucking love the detective+doctor duo :D They have the best garden in Okinawa.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon:

Toramaru is the big spoon or jet pack.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity:

They love going to the cinema together, Toramaru couldn’t go but a few times as a child because he had to help his mother so he is always super excited when they go to watch a movie. Once they grew having the best garden, it helps them to relax and keep stress away. But they always like to watch a good movie, specially if it’s about detectives. I also think they’d enjoy the sea a lot: swimming, surfing and all, once Tsunami teaches them how to love the sea.

So, I got my hands on the uncut version of Goodbye My Princess with subs and decided to watch that one instead so I started from scratch.

It really does flow smoother.

One of the things I really like about the story is that, in a way, the OTP is made incompatible by their very upbringing. She is the apple of her father’s eye, allowed to be wild and free:

He is one of an awful emperor’s many expendable sons, who gets to watch his father almost kill the only brother he loves in front of his eyes and grows up in the rigid, poisoned atmosphere of intrigue:

It all may still have been salvageable but then his beloved brother gets murdered (he wrongly believes by her grandfather’s tribe) and he learns the truth about his actual mother and so he jumps head first into the bloody fight for the throne to get revenge and power and that puts him in an inevitable collision course with the heroine. But the seeds were sown in hus upbringing. The thing is, the sweet tea merchant he pretends to be with her is part of him. It’s just his situation basically destroys him ever really be able to be like that in truth forever.
