My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! TV Anime Adaptation Confirms 2020 Premiere

  Nine months after its initial announcement back in October 2018, the official website for Ichijinsha's Ichijinsha Bunko Iris imprint confirmed today that a TV anime adaptation of Satoru Yamaguchi's Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijo ni Tensei Shiteshimatta.../My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! fantasy light novel is set to premiere in Japan in 2020. Further details such as staff and voice cast will be announced at a later date.

    The novel was first serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou since July 2014, then its print edition has been published from Ichijinsha Bunko Iris since August 2015, while its manga adaptation illustrated by the novel illustrator Nami Hidaka has been serialized in the publisher's Comic ZERO-SUM monthly magazine. The total print run of the novel's current seven volumes and the manga's three volumes in Japan (including digital editions) has reached 1.5 million copies.

  In North America, the novel and manga have been licensed by J-Novel Club and Seven Seas Entertainment, respectively. The former introduces its story as below:

  After hitting her head particularly hard one day, Duke Claes' daughter, Katarina, suddenly recalls all the memories of her past life: that of a teenage Japanese girl. Just before her untimely death, this girl recalls playing an otome game... that is exactly like the world she's living in now! She is now Katarina Claes, the antagonist of the otome game, who nastily hounded the protagonist until the end. Knowing all the possible outcomes of the game, she realizes that every single possible route ends with Katarina being murdered or exiled! In order to avoid these Catastrophic Bad Ends, she has to use her knowledge of the game and her own wiles, starting with breaking off this engagement with the prince... Will Katarina survive while making her way through this world, where bad flags trip at every turn? Find out in this reverse-harem rom-com, led by everybody's favorite villainess!
