Profile and Masterlist info ^^
𖤐 ̊⁎+˳✧༺ Welcome to my blog! ༻𖤐 ̊⁎+˳✧
Tumblr media
Who am I and what do I do?
I go by El for short (most used), Eloise, or even Eli if that’s what you’d prefer (though not very used); she/her prononouns.
This blog is focused on VADTD and that only. My main focus most of the time are Callisto and Penelope, I love them so so much and have made it a mission to yap about them constantly <3
I post lots of my personal headcanons, AUs, memes and even episode/character/series analyses. Novel reader so beware of spoilers, there are plenty on my page!!
I'm a VADTD fanfic writer and artist, tho I rarely post my art. You can find my fanfics on Ao3 (I'll link my profile down below) ^^
➠ Callisto and/or Penelope haters DNI with me or my posts, you will be blocked. Yes I will block even if see you hate for no reason, and if I see misinformation being spread!!
What fandoms am I in—manhwas/webtoons I've read?
(These are obviously not all of them, but mostly the main ones);
Villains Are Destined to Die (VADTD/VADD) — my longtime favorite and hyperfixation
Genshin Impact: EU sever; AR 60; Yelan main
Honkai Star Rail (HSR): EU server; TL 67; Acheron main
Sailor Moon — mostly SM Crystal
How to Win My Husband Over — quickly became one of my favorites, may or may not be because I have a thing for men with red eyes (what can I say I’m a woman of culture)
The Siren: Becoming the Villain's Family
A Business Proposal — comfort manhwa, I watched the kdrama too but the manhwa is still my favorite
Daytime Star — comfort manhwa yet again, it’s sooo cute
Positively Yours — comfort manhwa pt.3 :))
Unholy Blood — another one of my longtime favs, Euntae and Hayan my beloved <3
Where can you find me?
I have pages on a few other socials, and I'm usually pretty active except stated otherwise. All of my profiles are still very much dedicated to VADTD or underwent changes to conform:
Read my fanfics on Ao3 — For now I only post my fanfics on Ao3 so if you see them posted somewhere else, that is not me! Please let me know if you come across anything like that, or any sort of plagiarism of my works (yes, it has happened before)
Eloise_175 on X/Twitter — Quite active on there lately, sometimes I post things I don't end up posting on here, like threads and whatnot
VADTD Discord server — I tend to be pretty active on discord and consequently on the VADTD server too, everyone is welcomed to join! (please make sure to read the rules carefully ^^)
calliopeys_ on Instagram — I don’t really post much on there as I’m not an Instagram person, but hopefully I’ll get around to posting more on there as well. Created a new account from scratch to maybe post my art and fanfic updates. If I see an influx of people from here on there, I may do some of those quick asks in the stories :))
calliopeys on TikTok — Empty for the moment, but maybe I'll do some silly memes on there

Springin' Chip with a 24' page update!
Greetings, dear follower! th3-0bjectivist has appointed me, Chipper the Springer Spaniel, as the official page mascot and acting spokescanine of this blog moving forward. It sure is great to be here! And might I say, the range of my vernacular as a mere canine has increased something like 28000% in just the last few weeks thanks to the hard lessons I’ve endured so far. Late nights in front of an English dictionary, lots of treats, and tons of sleepless nights have transformed me into perhaps the only English-literate puppy that has ever existed on planet Earth. From this point forward, I plan to operate as an empathetic, humorous, and nurturing presence to all of those on Tumblr into 2024 and beyond!
Tumblr media
If you wanna know a little more about me to start, so far in life, I enjoy 1. Voraciously sniffing all manner of ass and crotch (if you approach me, please just spread fully eagle for one full minute, it lets me know who you are without you saying a word) and getting my own ass/crotch sniffed! 2. Pissing indoors (preferably on carpets to create an overpowering urine-miasma that permeates the entire room) 3. Attempting to playfully bite th3-0bjectvist directly in the balls with my nasty, bacteria-laden, inverted Spaniel teeth on a weekly basis!!
Tumblr media
My pal, th3-0 and I, have long discussed my potential nickname on this blog. It has run the gamut from… Chip the Dip, to Chipper the Dick, to Chip the Prick, to Chipper the Testicle-Destroyer. In particular, the phrases ‘Stop biting me’, and ‘Hey, A-hole, cut that biting shit out’, and ‘Hey, dickhead, stop trying to bite my fuckin’ balls!!’ have strongly resonated with me as a puppy. I’ve realized very early on; it is essential that I improve my behavior otherwise I’m going to be hard-up on quality treats. And that’s what this blog will be all about moving forward… gradual improvement! Luckily, I have the good fortune of being cute as all hell. So, we graciously settled on the tentative title Springin’ Chip to instead highlight the positive aspects of our collective spirits and aspirations moving forward. New year, new positive goals! Folks, just look at my pics! Check out my feathered-ears and adorable face! Do I not have the perfect mug to represent a proper renewal of this blog?? And mug I will! If you continue to follow th3-0bjectivist, you’re going to see me grow up slowly over the next few months and years! Anyways, onto a bit of business…
Tumblr media
My new friend, th3-0, has instructed me to give you an official page announcement! He will be back soon (end of March) with new art and drawings, music and commentary, goofy-ass memes, and more! This year (2024) th3-0 will be putting an artistic focus on dimensionality and expression by doing lots of drawings of expressions on human faces! He will also attempt to make some paintings with a little more -- POP -- than in previous years by incorporating a liquid background behind a solid mass of brushwork. If you like music, and who doesn't (??), this year will be the year of the musical double-feature! That means every time you see music on this page moving forward, there will be TWO SONGS by the featured musician(s) to highlight the range of said musician(s). Also, it’s election year! Now, I don’t have the vote myself, but you’ll have me around as your comical, politically neutral, and stalwart companion while everybody else on Tumblr is being just about as polarizing as they can be without directly and openly supporting terrorist organizations on the left or right side of the political spectrum! It’s gonna be a great year with this dog n' this blog!
Tumblr media
Alright, gettin’ sleepy over here… you guys can fuck off for now. MORE 0bjectivist! END OF MARCH! NEW ART!!! DOUBLE-FEATURE MUSIC SHOWCASES EVERY OTHER WEEK!!! MEMES AND GIFs!!! SNARKY-ASS COMMENTARY!!! AND MORE OF MY BALL-BITING ADORABLE ASS!!!
Best, Springin’ Chip

Congratulations on winning Nano!!! Any hot takes or unconventional tips on how to achieve a huuuge milestone like that in so little time?
Also, if you'd like to share, I'd love to hear more about the piece(s) you worked on during this year's event! Big yay if you want to tease us with a sneak peek as well. 🙂
Congratsss again!!!
ty!!!! i am afraid my tips might seem kind of obvious and not that much of a hot take but here's what worked for me:
writing sprints. do 10 min. do 17 min. do 30 min. whatever it is, just get words down on the page. after each sprint was finished i'd look at what i wrote, fix up the most glaring mistakes (espe if the words looked terrible. i've learned to live with a lot of spelling errors bc otherwise u waste too much time. during nano each day i'd prolly manage between 2-3 sprints -- usually enough to net me between 1000-1500 words each day. i wouldn't stop if i hit the daily total, i'd stop when i could feel the motivation waning. my lowest day was under 300 words, my biggest was just over 4000.
get a community. writing sucks alone. i feel very grateful that i've made some friends on here who were also trying to write regularly, so now there's 5 of us in a little discord i've made. we do sprints with each other and share lots of snippets, memes, pretty pictures etc. it keeps us excited about our own projects, but also allows us to cheerlead each other on.
get used to placeholders. i use TK. anytime there's a word i need but it's not on the tip of my tongue? TK my beloved. sometimes i'd write like she sighed in a TK kind of way, or like harry opens his mouth to argue about TK TK some work thing he's doing TK TK. it just keeps u in the pace of writing ur in, but allows for a few words to be spent writing down a piece that needs further expansion.
establish habits and goals. for me, it's stuff like trying to write the bulk of my writing with a nice candle lit, but also the silly stuff like putting on lippy so I feel like. Ready to do shit. have a few drinks avail. one to hydrate (ice cold) one to caffeinate (also ice cold). play music or sounds that will help u get into the zone without overly distracting. now that i've won it i'm gonna treat myself to some silly purchases as well bc i should reward myself for such hard work and dedication. i'm thinking a v comfy hoodie.
overall if i didn't have the community i had this month i think my external motivation would've been lost quickly, so find friends to yell at about ur project. watch yt videos about ppl doing writing! make posts and don't give a flying fuck about being cringe or not suiting ut 'aesthetic'. this is u. do it for U.
in terms of this project: the short version is hermione goes back to hogwarts post book 7 and has to slowly begin to recover from/learn to live with the PTSD she's gained. alas, draco is also back and she's gotta learn to make peace with the fact that he's allowed to want to change and that he's making small steps to become a better person than who he was. they're gonna kiss and be disgusting with each other. ultimately this is a story about hermione's journey, as the whole thing is written from her perspective, so although the dhr aspect is there, there are also other important relationships i want to focus on -- especially her and harry.
i'm ignoring/expanding on a lot of canon, and using some details from the movies i prefer over the books (namely her mudblood scar bc mmmmm parallels). i don't really know if anybody is in character but i don't care! this is my story and i'll do it how i see fit haha.
the following excerpt comes from late sept in the current draft. at this point dhr has been forced together a few times already. draco has surreptitiously managed to drug slughorn with a potion of his (slughorn's) own making during their potions class bc the potions professor was spending an entire lesson just showing off instead of. u know. teaching.

Hi Pia,
Behind-the-scenes-fic-ask, number 21 and falling falling stars please ❤️
21. What is something you didn't expect people to notice or gravitate towards in this fic?
Ooooo, okay, actually quite a few things!
So the biggest one is that I just never expected to have Dr Gary be anything more than an extremely minor character that Efnisien mostly reflected on. I never planned to write whole sessions, and the first one was only a section of a chapter rather than a whole chapter, because I thought readers would hate it.
I actually really hate reading a lot of fictional therapy sessions, especially when that's not the focus of the fic. Most fictional therapy sessions read like 'therapist is narrating pop psychology and telling this character everything they want to hear and they're subbing in for a kind parental figure' at best.
There are exceptions to that, but for the most part, I find that boring - it feels like a kind of writing that is not quite lazy, but a bit 'there are other more interesting ways to share this.' Therapists don't feel like real people in those circumstances, with their own motives, thoughts, intentions and drives. They feel like an extended part of the character's brain, or they feel like an empty function.
But Dr Gary was like, was a hit. I was getting a lot of asks about him, a lot of interest about him in the comments, and in the first few chapters, me and my beta actually kind of shipped him and Efnisien together before he met Arden (that's how we ended up with Underline the Black lol).
So yeah, that's the biggest one!!! And that one is a pretty big one. :D
Otherwise, I was also surprised by (but maybe shouldn't have been) how many Kadek/Efnisien shippers there are and Kadek/Efnisien/Arden shippers. I was like...hmm...how can I put this - Kadek has darker brown skin, and in those cases some readers don't really go for that chemistry. He's also 20~ years older than Efnisien, though he doesn't act like it, lol. Like, I personally shipped them even though I wasn't going to write them into the main story, but I was very reserved/aware that people might not want that. Especially with how confrontational and sometimes even mean Kadek can be.
Honestly that was like, probably the nicest surprise. It wasn't that I expected people to be awful, often I try and go in with fairly open expectations, it was more like I was prepared for people to not feel/see what I was feeling/seeing about a character. And I was okay with that, because he's a side character. But we got way, way more scenes with Kadek because of how people responded to him.
This story really couldn't have been what it became without the readers! The best part about not planning a story is I can follow the kind of momentum of readers. I don't believe in caving to fanservicey stuff, but I do believe in 'oh you're open to this? I can give you more of this!' or 'oh you like him!!! Yay!! I do too! Let's experiment with a whole therapy session chapter and see how y'all feel about it.'
:D That's my favourite part of writing, honestly. I actually kind of feel bad for the people who don't read fics as they go like this, and just read it all when it's completed at the end. Because they miss this kind of alive creation of this ongoing story, and they miss being a part of it. And obviously they also miss the agony of waiting for chapters, but as someone who reads WIPs myself, idk there's something very cool about seeing something come to life - especially like, if say early on you are like 'I love this character so much' and then a bunch of other people say it, and then the author is like 'well this character can make the story stronger so good news everyone, I'm putting him in more because you all love him so much.'
That's... like... *chef's kiss*

[KISS] vince & so mi 🤭💞
meme
He's their designated mechanic, all too eager to dive under the hood to help along a troubled engine, or to lift the CHOOH2 tank off a motorcycle to replace any hard-to-reach parts — like the pesky spark plugs on the old ( really old ), retrofitted Hornets.
Today, he decided to prep their escape car for the agony they'd put it through a few days from now. Now, some hours later ( with the sun beaming down onto the engine and therefore his bare torso ), he emerges contentedly — and slightly warmed, at that.
He tries to keep his eyes pinned to his handiwork, but it's no secret that his attention will always gravitate towards So Mi when she's near. This moment is no exception; she needs only push herself off the rim of the engine bay for his focus to shift instantly. No matter how hard he tries to appear stoic, to keep some semblance of distance in the face of his fixation on her, he can't.
He wonders if she even minds. Could she, when she herself chooses to approach him?
He'd reach for her if not for his oil-stained hands. Instead, he goes for the rag to wipe his hands on — not hugely effective, but it'll do.
❛  She'll be ready for the job before the end of the day.  ❜
Despite his intention to pace himself, to never do what he assumes might be overwhelming or otherwise unwelcome, he can't help it when she enters his personal space as she does. Behind him she stands, that much he's aware of — and when her hands touch his shoulders, he realises just how close she is.
And although he can resist the urge to turn around and face her ( albeit barely ), the compulsion to lean in towards her proves too great. His weight shifts towards his heels as a consequence, tipping his body ever so slightly towards her. He trusts her to keep him steady — and she does, in every possible sense of the word, at that.
As her hands coast down to his elbows, he feels her thumbs brushing against his ribcage. He's not sure if it's the ensuing tickle that has him tense up, or the breath fanning between his shoulder blades. Either way, he erupts into an abrupt, shaking chuckle, breaking the silence for that short moment.
He hardly manages to look over his shoulder, try as he might.
Tumblr media
❛  Hey — whatcha doin' there?  ❜
Before he can finish speaking, an arm then slinks around his middle. Vince being Vince, he instinctively clasps his left – slightly less greased up – hand around it, holding it in place against his midriff. ( He likes being held ... even if he's slightly tacky with sweat. Sorry, So Mi. )
He feels her breath grow hotter then, warmer even than the sun had rendered his skin there. The heat's nearing his spine — until her lips touch him there, brushing so gently that a trail of goosebumps branches out from that point of contact.
His grasp on her arm tightens by a hair. More, please.
Another ensues, right on cue; firmer and a little closer to his neck than before. How could he not let an appreciative hum slip out?
❛  Mm — one more of those, and I won't be finishing the job today. I'll have my hands full with you.  ❜

for the fanfic ask meme: B, F, H, I, M, Q, R, S, T, U & V!!! c:
OH BOY <3
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
welllll the everyday miscellaneous was um 99% projecting. i was working thru some mental stuff n i really needed an outlet and bill tench was right there!
F: Care to share a favorite hurt/comfort fic?
does this mean one of my own or one i like. either way ill drop some reccs from both pools.
while im still reading @swearingcactus 's pick me up and memory downs, the hurt/comfort is so so tasty and i love love how the twist is sprinkled into the earlier chapters and its all starting to unfold.
apart from that, @civilization-illstayrighthere 's funny you should ask makes me want to BAWL. if u like the hurt/comfort of past inputs and a love thats a few shades from poisonous, this is the one for u.
as for my own, the your heart is on my sleeve series is just h/c after h/c with some major character death sprinkled in :P
H: How would you describe your style?
i write like im writing for an audiobook. i focus on how sentences would sound rolling off someones tongue, how theyd hit physically once said out loud, etc, because its one of the best ways to figure out how awkward a sentence might sound otherwise.
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
sexual tension and homoerotic teasing but not full blown smut. love it when a character touches another person in some way that gets them flustered and red and then the author leaves it at that :3 so fucking delicious.
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
one im working on rn has vance infected with a virus that slowly starts raising his internal body temperature degree by degree before he overheats and the virus resets to repeat the cycle :] he has to get it out before it reaches his brain
Q: Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?
blinks wetly. i dont wanna talk about it theres a whole sideblog dedicated to one of them. but also i had this fic idea where vance gets caught by militech and its this whole thing...theres also a handful of scenes i wrote where kerry goes to vance's apartment in the glen n discovers (to his horror) how many jackets his boyfriend actually has
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
samantha downing, suzanne collins, austin chant, helena fox, and tj klune are my biggest influences :3 fanfic wise, it would be the two i mentioned above and @glitchinginthegarden and you!! you august you!!!
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
when two characters r bitter divorced exes but theyre still madly in love with each other and HATEEE the fact that they are. i want them to hatefuck and be pissed off about it
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
please. lord god. stop woobifying villains. i would like them to retain the nuance they have in canon thank u
U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.
SILVERDYNE. i want 2 write for them so bad but i dont know what premise would be interesting to me. im rotating them certainly but nothing's come of it so far
V: A secondary (or underrated) character you want to see more of in fic?
where is rogue my friend the love of my life rogue amendiares

Omg are drabble request still open? Can I request "would you still love me if I was a worm" but for Flux couple? cause I feel like with them it might not be Sasha asking that lol thanks to that annon for the idea hehe
This drabble hit just right as soon as you sent it in so I had to write it immediately, thank you!
Story: Flux Characters: Jungkook & Sasha Length: 1286 CW: uh... reference to worm-fucking and necrophilia 😂... otherwise it's fluff
----------------------------------------
“Sasha. Sasha, jagiya,” Jungkook called to her from far away outside of the story she’d lost herself in. They sat next to each other in bed, her nose deep into a book about murders and romance and mystery in historic Italy, his eyes glued to his phone as he got a bedtime dose of internet memes. She found the difference funny but overall not distracting because her focus was strong enough to endure the noises issuing from his phone amid his giggles or muttering. Usually.
“Wae wae?” she chanted back as he continued to pat her arm at an annoying pace.
“Sashaya, do you love me forever as a worm?”
“Huh?”
The last word he’s said wasn’t clicking for her. He said it again as Sasha tried to puzzle out wum wum wum…
“You know,” he insisted, seeming a little frustrated. He held out his index finger and wiggled it across the palm of his other hand.
“Worm!”
“Worrrrrm,” he repeated, voice lowering as he emphasized the ‘r’ for some reason, chin dropped. He grinned, “Yes. Do you love me even if I am a worm?”
“Um…”
He sat lower on the bed than she did, more sprawled out; he looked up at her from his place by her stomach, eyes wide and sparkling with amusement.
“Do I still love you if you’re a worm?”
“Yes?”
“Well…  I mean—do you mean like you have your mind but you’re just in the body of a worm? Is it permanent?”
“Huh?”
“Are you a worm forever or will you change back?”
“Uh…” He glanced at his phone. “Forever.” His eyes narrowed into playful seriousness. A challenge dramatically issued.
“Oh. And we don’t really have a way to communicate. I can talk to you but you can’t really talk back to me.”
He pouted as he debated, then corrected, “No no I use the computer.”
“You type on a keyboard to communicate? Ok, well that’s something I guess…” She snickered at the way he demonstrated a worm sliding across his hand, poking letter keys. “Very slow though.”
“We are slow now.”
“True, but even slower… but I guess you’d have to listen to everything I say, that’s kind of nice.”
“Eh… no ears,” he considered, looking thoughtful about it. Mouth pressing into a tight line as he tried not to laugh.
“Did you get turned into a worm or have you always been a worm?”
His mouth twisted in thought before he decided, “I change.”
“OK well then that’s easy, I’d find a way to change you back.”
“No no, it’s forever now. Permanent.” The way he said it endeared her, as always. She felt bad for girls with boyfriends who didn’t speak multiple languages and didn’t get to hear the charming way their accent carried over. She wondered if she could possibly sound as cute to him when she spoke Korean. She was obsessed with the intonation of his voice, and the way his lips moved when he spoke, and his expressions –none of which he would have as a worm.
“I’d find a way,” she insisted. “Have faith in me.”
“No faith. Just worm. Forever.”
She gave a little grunt of annoyance at his insistence in this scenario and decided, “Well then fine, I would make you a nice little house in a garden somewhere and be really sad about you dying.”
“No. I am not dead. I am a worm.”
“Yeah, exactly, so…”
“Sasha,” he said, eyes widening as he sat up. “You don’t love me anymore?!”
“You’re a worm!”
“Yes! It’s me!”
“What am I going to do with a worm?!”
“I love you, Sasha worm!”
“Liar. You can’t fuck a worm!”
“Eh, Jeonguggie-worm can fuck—”
“Do NOT say what you’re going to say!” she cackled and shoved him and then hit his shoulder a few times for good measure as he full-body giggled, so pleased with himself. “It’s not practical. A relationship can’t be equal if one of you is a worm!”
“Yes, in our heart.”
“No! I’d make sure you’re happy in your life as a worm and then bye bye, I’m meeting someone new.”
“Sasha! It’s not romantic!” he complained and grabbed her arms. “I love you forever!”
“Liar.”
“I make um, <the necklace with a bag> and I carry you there everywhere. I show you the world.”
“Uh huh, and you’d kiss me?”
“Yes, little worm head.” He kissed his index finger.
“No, with tongue. Let me in there. You have to kiss me with tongue,” she insisted, trying to wrestle her finger between his lips so she could wiggle against his tongue. He tried to keep his mouth closed but he was struggling with his laughter and she managed to get her finger past his lips. He took the chance to just grab her full-body and roll on top of her as he bit her finger.
Pinning her down, he scolded, <”You are supposed to say yes, you will love me no matter what.”>
<”I love you no matter what. But I do not date with you if he is a worm. Sorry.”>
His cry of defeat had her in stitches as he stuck his hands under her shirt to tickle her sides, and then dragged her sideways so he could slap her ass several times.
“Mean Sasha!”
“Smart Sasha! Don’t ask a dumb question—”
“Yeah, dumb answer!”
“We couldn’t even do this! I’d crush you!”
“Yeah, I like it,” he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. ”You crush me now? Sexy.”
“You’d be dead.”
<”Ah, it’s a nice way to go, crushed under your ass…”> She laughed and playfully planted said ass on his stomach to make him grunt, then grabbed her book to find her page again and resume reading.
He gave her exactly two minutes to get wrapped up again as he occasionally muttered and chuckled and clearly kept thinking about it before he started again,
“Sasha.”
“Hm?”
“You can love me even if my skin is green? I am alien?”
“Oh my goooooood let me read my booook.”
“Yes?”
“Fine! I hope you at least have some tentacles too.”
He sat straight up, knocking her down into his lap, as he demanded, “You like that?! Tentacles!?”
“Shhh, I’m reading my book.”
“Sasha. You like that?”
“How do you even know that word in English—”
“I know that word!”
“That isn’t the brag you think it is…” she giggled.
“You like it? Sasha?”
She covered his mouth and opened her book but it was a lost cause.
“Fine, my turn! Would you love me even if I… um…”
<”You can’t think of anything to say because you know I’d love you anyway.”>
<”No!”>
He sighed dramatically, <”It’s hard being such a romantic boyfriend with a girlfriend who is so….”>
<”So what, Jeon Jungkook?”>
He didn’t have an answer but she tried to smother him with a pillow anyway.
“You love me if I am zombie?” he asked her as he tried to wrestle the pillow off.
“Gross!”
<“Romance is dead!”>
“You are dead if you’re a zombie! Necrophilia!”
“What is it?”
“No, I’m not teaching you that word—ask me nice questions, ask me something sweet. Like… will you love me when I’m old and wrinkly?”
“Potato Sasha? Yes.”
“See? I will love Dumpling Koo. So everything is good. Romance lives. The end.”
She grabbed her book and playfully glared, breathing short after the wrestle. Jungkook pretended to let the conversation end.
But while she might be able to tune out his phone, she couldn’t tune out the sense that he was thinking of ways to troll her, and she did not even manage to understand a page before he started it up again,
“Sasha, you love me if….”

Writing ask meme - 22, 41, 74
22. describe your writing process from scratch to finish
Oh, man! So much depends upon the story. For short stuff, say, 3k or less, I generally get the idea and pretty much immediately set out to write. I write it in a single session or two, editing as I go along. Every time I get stuck, I go back up a few paragraphs and reread, while fixing typos, adjusting word choices, etc.
I do another editing pass as I actually upload the story, since I need to reread any to add in html tags for italics and such. Ideally a little time has passed since I finished writing, so that I have slightly fresher eyes to catch stuff.
For longer things, say 5-20k, the process is pretty similar except that I'll start taking notes for things I want to happen later on because otherwise I'll forget before I get to actually writing that part. The notes tend to be super vague, because they're just reminders of ideas I've had, and aren't actually meant to be a guide. Here's two examples from different stories:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ironically, both of these scenes, once I came to write them, ended up very different than these notes and included almost none of the same ideas. But sometimes the notes end up being pretty accurate! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For stuff that is full novella or novel-length, I work from an outline. I might write a few opening scenes to get the feel for the story before I write the outline, or I might start with the outline; it just depends. I also take notes as I go along of things that it can be easy to forget: what color eyes did I say this side-character has? what season is it? how much time has passed?
A lot of times I get about halfway through a story and have to go back and re-outline the first half but with a particular focus on a theme, or a character's motivations, or something like that, so I can see shape of it more clearly and making sure it's moving forward and not just repeating the same beats over and over again. Here's an example of the re-outlining the early chapters of lay me down with a specific focus on what's going on in Stede's head:
Tumblr media
Re-outlining like that also tends to really help me with deciding what to write next and what sort of things I want to include in the story.
If I get really, really stuck, I take a notebook and go somewhere without internet access – usually a park if the weather's nice, or a museum large enough to have rooms where you can just commander a bench and stare at a wall for a while – to just sit with my thoughts and let my mind drift until it finally agrees to start focusing on the story again and figuring out where I want to go. Then I take notes by hand that look pretty much like the above examples, though if it's working well enough I may start to write actual dialogue or description.
Whew, that was a long answer, sorry!
41. what is the weirdest story idea you’ve ever had.
I don't really think of my ideas as weird, particularly! Like, once you commit to it and figure out how the characters would react, it no longer feels weird, even if it was weird in the abstract. "Stede wears a harem costume" is weird, but once you've explored his motivations and Ed's reaction, it's just another thing they might do.
74. are you a planner, pantser, or planster?
Hmmm, a planster, I suppose! I do usually make an outline, but it's pretty vague compared to some people's outlines. This is an outline I wrote for a story I never finished, as an example of what mine typically look like:
Tumblr media
Clearly I don't do intricate outlines with dialogue and themes and such. I'm sure this is basically incoherent to anyone else, but it's just enough of a reminder for myself of what's going on. But I do like writing to some sort of plan and not just letting anything happen.
Thank you for the questions! <3

Convention: True Otaku
Tumblr media
I've always kind of been involved in fandom culture from a young age, mostly because I was always an art kid. For me, the internet art space and fandom are largely interchangeable due to just how much overlap there is, especially in the last 5 years where fandom and fandom art is getting mainstream. My personal experience with the space started with my digital animal drawing phase at 12 years old on a children's coding platform called Scratch. On this platform, I made a friend around the same age as me that I would discuss art and characters with, do art trades, and follow art trends like 'animation memes' together using the animal characters we would make up. Because of this, I've always been kind of familiar with this idea of community-centered content and making that content your own through your art.
Tumblr media
Today, my fandom interactions consist of enjoying anime, discussing it, and making fanart with that same friend I made on that platform, 8 years later (as well buying merch for shows here and there). This person has become my great friend, and as a byproduct of the kind of content we grew up on, also like my 'fandom outlet' to talk about all the things I've become fixated on at any moment. I have seen people in fandom that make cliques on art-fandom-friendly places like Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram whose online friends tend to move on once their fixation on the media or fandom dies out, and this is probably the sad reality of what It would have been like for me if not for my good friend and the great times we've had talking to one another, so I'm really thankful for them.
Tumblr media
Aside from anime, sometimes I draw those old characters of mine for nostalgia and appreciation for the characters, but otherwise I like to focus on generating anime fanart or coming up with new original content centered around human characters. I think I personally enjoy fandom activities because it allows me to express my love for a piece of media and bring new life into it by making it my own while I am simultaneously challenging myself to be creative. Mostly though, it's one of my consistently favorite things to bring my interests to another person and discuss it and enjoy it together. It goes beyond a connection with a piece of media that might be fleeting into a connection with other people that can continually respond to you and enjoy your company.
Tumblr media
My interactions on social media have been modest ever since I graduated from Scratch territory, 1) because I was focused on online safety for a majority of my childhood, and 2) by the time I was confident enough to put myself out on mainstream social media to a degree, my friend had already kind of fulfilled the need that social media provides. So the extent of my interactions on these platforms have been mostly just liking art and fanart I admire and posting a new art piece to get like 1 like on Twitter, which I have become perfectly happy with receiving.
Tumblr media
Despite being casually involved in fandom for the majority of my life, I've never actually attended a convention despite wanting to in these later years. I've always liked halloween and dressing up to become a character, and I know I would love cosplay and attending conventions. A few years back in high school, I even made (with my mom's help) a costume of pretty niche video game character, Hornet from Hollow Knight (niche, considering I was just going to walk around the neighborhood). The whole experience was exactly how everyone described the experience of cosplaying in the True Otaku documentary: making the costume is a lot of hard work and trial and error, especially if you're a novice, but the end result is that you get to become immersed in and play the part of a character you really like. And surprisingly, even though I was just walking around the neighborhood and most people didn't really get it, there were a few that did and those people and their enthusiasm have always stuck out in my mind.
Tumblr media
If I ever went to a convention in the future, which I think I'll probably do at some point when I'm not as busy with other things, I'll definitely be cosplaying something, either my already established Hornet costume or a character from an anime I like.

bestie you excel at one of the things i personally find the hardest and what makes a difference for me whenever i read any book: the dialogue!!!! If I dont feel like it is natural in a book I’m reading or that the character would never say it, it completely turns off something in my brain and I can’t focus the same. This is all just to say that your dialogue and the character voices are spot onnnnn! And may I say I dont think your plot has any issues, I am very fond the way you write the action and how everything unfolds. Again, this might be a very selfish opinion because I just click with you as a writer (and me a reader), but the events never feel rushed, I always feel like everyone gets to say what they want to say without it being forced and overall it just makes me want to read more and more. I understand that you obviously know yourself the best and you know your work the best, but as a humble reader who stumbled upon your work, I was immediately a fan, it was everything I’ve wanted to read and more. If I could magically be any good at writing and be gifted enough to write a criminal minds fic on hotchniss and somehow have my thoughts scanned into words, your fic would be the exact depiction of what I would imagine it to look like. You are doing an amazing job!
This is VERY LOVELY and I appreciate you so so much!
By the time I hit post on a new chapter, I'm usually happy with it. Like, I obsessively reread and edit and I've only posted a chapter that in retrospect I wish I'd spent more time on once - apart from typos (there are always a few when I first post), I'm usually happy* with what's out there, or it wouldn't be out. But yeah, I'm super aware of the stuff I have to work harder at. It's like that meme that goes around sometimes of the back of a piece of embroidery. Everyone else sees the final product, but when you made it, you know the messy process of getting there. And as a writer you know all your own shortcuts - I edit out a lot of characters doing the same little gesture so many times that if they actually did it in the show you'd be like 'wait did they just play that same half second of footage of her making that face for the eighth time'. Most of the time I catch it so it doesn't make it to the reader's impression of my writing, but it means every time I do it, I'm like you're doing it again!!!
Some things I'm happy to just be like 'well this is my level and it's enough to say what I'm trying to say', and there are some things I'm excited to work more on with my next thing. . . And some in betweens. Things I think will improve with practice, probably, but we'll see. I like writing. I like feeling like I can get my ideas across well enough and like I can get better at it. And I couldn't do it for so long for various reasons that finding this place in my brain again has been the biggest gift so I'm just very grateful to not only be writing words again but to have people actually reading them (because otherwise I would've 100% given up again ngl).
Anyway THANK YOU, and if you have any desire at all to write a thing, you should write a thing. Nobody can do it until they do it, you know??
(* the word happy was missing when I posted this, as if I was making a point about typos)

16 and 17 for the fandom ask meme?
hmm, well these both depend on the fandom since every fandom's got a different like, vibe of fan community if that uh, makes any sense, so if you've got a specific fandom in mind you wanna hear about, feel free to drop me another ask! In the meantime I'm trying to think broadly of things I see recurring in some of the fandom spaces I haunt...
16) a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate I love stories that feature recurring or otherwise complex narrative themes, whether that's to have the ending circle around back to the beginning, or parallels between characters/events, or character arcs as mirrors or foils to each other, and so on. Like, there's an art to everything in the creative process, but being able to weave those subtle complexities into a story really requires a lot of dedication to the story from the creator(s)--which I know bc I've tried writing those sorts of narrative complexities, and it requires so much attention to detail to keep track of everything.
And it's not that fandom ignores this per se--there are a good few fans who will dedicate themselves to writing up a good ol' analysis--but generally I see a lot more focus on shipping in most fandom spaces, which is fine! I get why that appeals to a lot of people. But as a fan of really looking at the weft and warp of a narrative, I get so excited when a fan points out a story detail that recontextualizes the entire narrative that I might have missed, and I kinda wish there was more of it. I especially love it when people who know stuff about music point out stuff about musical themes that add an extra layer of depth to the narrative, but alas there aren't many musically-talented fans writing up music analyses to read that I've come across, which is a bummer for me bc I'm not very well-informed about music stuff and so I really don't catch the neat things the musicians are doing with their music unless someone points it out--and if I think I notice something, I don't have enough faith in my music knowledge to be sure I'm actually onto something.
17) the thing in canon that everyone loves and that you also love Cool fight sequences, whether well-choreographed or well-animated, doesn't matter, I love me some pretty fight sequences and insofar as I can tell so does everyone else.

Meme for roleplay muns / Accepting
@kitxkatrp sent a letter: 6. Name 3 things you love most about your muse/muses. I'm going to add a specific thing here. Name 3 things you love most about your younger muses. Could be children or teenagers!
First of all, thank you so much for this. I had to give a whole speech of why I love making muses of varied ages, just because I am so happy I can focus on a few younger muses I am just so proud of.
Tumblr media
Firstly, there's Ayano. I like that despite her stoicism she actually quite thoughtful and considerate of others, especially spirits. Which is just very sweet to me as her being a shinigami her role is bringing souls to the Spirit World. That's all she needs to really do and move on to the next, but no she goes above and beyond to make sure they are ready. I made starter of her searching high and low for a hair clip that would I have revealed was for a recently girl's spirit to be happy. She even changed her form when she collected Yue, her little sister figure and familiar's spirit; to look like her actual sister and still looks like it. In addition, despite viewing the undead like certain yokai (like if I ever brought back Hanako who was adorbs) as her own kind failing their duties she don't force them to detach from the moral realm. In general, she's just a really kind person that just so happen to be a bit inexpressive .
Tumblr media
I might goof with Null now and then, but I honestly find their personality and dynamics with others close to them in their canon incredibly strong. Null is kind of a character that when I used them to interact with others, though that didn't leave Null in the dust seemed to enjoy so much about them. Which made me happy cause in their own canon they are a character whom their parent figures want them to conform to certain standards, despite themselves not liking how their own society run things themselves. Null might be a silly alien that loves eating donuts, but is so much deeper that too. They have a lust for life, a joy to learn new things, and is incredibly insightful and creative in their own way. I always felt like he gets along with others the best due his personality being the embodiment of discovering new things and ideals, despite looking the most alien in his own little family group he is kind of the most naturally "human" in a way.
Tumblr media
The lastly, it's the one and only, absolute legend MIKA. THIS BOY HERE. Some of you guys that just known me for a little while, don't the journey I had with this kid in particular. He was the first muse I had on Tumblr, yeah since late high school and I am two years shy of thirty now. Surprisingly though, the simpler I made him the better he became. To me he is the "what you see, is what you get" character on here. You see a small fox like child that's lost and looks kind of shy and that's you got. And who would say no that? He is adorable, the personification of "innocence", he is shy but he shows to love everything that loves him back, he appreciates kindness and gives it back, though he is naive to most things but genuinely feels bad if he learned he did something bad because he wants never make people sad. This child DESERVES THE WORLD and if someone says otherwise, never talk to me or my son again.

Spoilery things
So I guess I'll make another post after reading another one of the Twisted Tales books, this time "Conceal, Don't Feel" by Jen Calonita (a Finnish translated version again). I'll try my best to remember my impressions of the book, but it's been about a month now since I read it so don't know how well that's gonna go...
Anyway, this time around I'm gonna focus more on the story elements since the writing style itself was actually pretty smooth and easy to read (there were the weird empty pages at the end of the book again though...). I don't know if this is due to having a different author or that the translator (which was the same person who did the translation for the earlier book in the series I read "A Whole New World") made more of an effort but it was a significant improvement. There were a few things still I'd have done differently, but I'm gonna give a
SPOILER WARNING
first as from this point forward I'm gonna be talking about story points. So, the first thing I noticed wrong with this translation was that at one point in the story Elsa overheard/eavesdropped as her parents were talking about Anna (in this continuation, Elsa and Anna were raised separately from each other since they were small children and pretty much the only ones in the kingdom who could remember that Anna was a princess were their parents and Anna's adoptive family), but they don't use her name, only refering to her in third person pronouns. Later Elsa wonders about who the person they were talking about could of been and thinks that "they were talking about someone female" or something along those lines... expect she wouldn't be able to know that! Finnish language doesn't have gendered pronouns and I checked to make sure that, yes, there were no indicators in their conversation in anyway that would of given that away otherwise (often when faced with this dilemma, the Finnish translation will use some terms like "the woman/girl" if it's a plot point, but this time there was nothing). Another thing I thought would of worked better was if the translation of the direct quotes from the movie would of been taken directly from the Finnish dub of the movie, instead of the more direct translations we got in the book. Pretty much the only thing lifted from the dub was "Weaseltown".
Springing from the earlier point to the next one is that there were a lot of scenes and dialogue that were straight from the movie, but they were often being reframed as being in slightly different situations with different characters, and it made me roll my eyes a lot, especially when it didn't fit the characters to do so. Like, sure, I can buy that Anna and Elsa could have grown up to be different to their movie counterparts due to having grown apart from each other, but other than that why would for example Hans act in a similar manner to Anna by whispering "Elsa?" (my absolute number one Eye-roll Moment of the book) when her powers were revealed? Ughh... It felt very forced and like they were written in as just fan service to the fans of the film and so that the readers could go like that Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme of recognizing something being from the movie.
There's also the fact that while the movie (excluding the beginning) takes place around one or two days, the books happenings go on for weeks/months (can't really remember the exact time but it was a lot more than in the movie) after Elsa ran away. This really drives home that one joke about how Elsa might have a nice ice palace now, but what is she gonna eat? Like you could overlook/explain it away in the movie that she was really away only for a day or so but in the book? when it was specifically mentioned that the winter "curse" has been going for quite a while now?
The ending of the book also felt really rushed/crammed, like the pacing suddenly took a sudden upturn in the last chapters. I don't know, maybe the author was having to meet a deadline but it really felt like towards the end the narration just wanted everything to be over and done with already and was hurrying to get to the finish line. Anna's resurrection was written in the most anticlimatic way possible, like...
There were still some other minor things I felt were off, but weren't really such a big deals overall, like how I felt that Hans was being too transparent and/or Anna and Elsa being able to read his true intentions a bit too easily when the narrative demanded or the fact that when Anna first met Kristoff as a 15 year old, she referred to him as a "boy around her age" when Kristoff was 18 at the time and I don't know, while three years isn't that big of a gap with adults I didn't think of 18 year olds as being about the same age as me when I was 15 (though it's not like Anna knew how old he was at time, maybe Kristoff was a lot smaller and looked younger than he was back then (in the book at least) or maybe there wasn't that many young people in Anna's home village overall (I remember that she said she went to school but can't remember what she said about her classmates/peers))
Anyway, I still think it was a decent book, it just unfortunately started deteriorating somewhere a bit before the middle point, which is too bad, I was considering buying this book for my cousin's daughter who likes Frozen, but now I guess I'll just encourage her to read a library copy like I did (though maybe this is for the better, libraries are there for reading after all and there's no reason to succumb to unneccessary consumerism...). Maybe it's just that I haven't really been reading literature targeted to 5th graders in a long while, maybe I'm being too harsh... (Though at the same time I also think it should be okay to ask for actual quality content for things, even (or especially) if they are meant "for children") Still, gonna read more Twisted Tales books, the next one is already on my list

(small note: bolded words don’t really mean anything! they’re just like that to make it easier to read)
basics like no godmodding apply. if there’s an action that’s important for plot reasons, i’m happy to discuss it ooc! likewise, please feel free to communicate with me if i cross a boundary
i tend to write multi-paragraph when rping and try to match length. i don’t expect you to match length, but i don’t generally do one-liner threads outside of asks or smaller dash interactions for fun
for the most part i prefer to write with mutuals, but this isn’t a hard and fast rule! i might not follow if you’re very high activity or have a lot of long posts/uncut threads. this is nothing personal, and I encourage you to write how you want! but i’m taking steps to manage what i’m comfortable with on the dash. generally i only thread with people who are 18+. minors can follow and send asks, but i recommend being at least 16 in case certain themes come up. anyone can send asks! (you can also send RP memes or asks before DMs, whatever you’re comfortable with)
sort of in the same vein and to let people know ahead of time: if you don’t have any about or rules in some form, i won’t r.p as easily. again, this is nothing personal, but i’m not generally sure how to approach things in that case
i won’t write smut, but if you do it isn’t a bar on interaction. at most there might be a few n.sfw jokes tagged as suggestive
for transparency’s sake, romantic ships aren’t my main focus, or at least not right off the bat. this isn’t to say i’m never interested! but i prefer to talk about it beforehand and i will likely ignore asks of that nature if they come in randomly. plenty of other dynamics are on the table though: friends, familial, enemies
i tag trigger and content warnings with “[x] cw” and “[x] tw” (blood, unreality, etc). you’re also welcome to ask me to tag things!
in terms of characters, i don’t do exclusives and am good with duplicates. i mostly do markcu rps but crossovers and ocs are also cool!
personals can follow and send asks, but please don’t reblog threads. if you’re following from a personal because you have an rp sideblog and are looking to write, please let me know! i might assume you followed for other reasons otherwise
it’s okay if you need to take a while to reply, drop a thread, or block me. this is a hobby. take care of yourself!
and finally: hello! i’m nils, he/him, 18+. thank you for reading up to here!

this blog won’t be perfectly historically accurate and i won’t claim that it is. if anything, it will lean more towards fantasy and storybook logic (and like W.KM, it might also include things from outside the time period entirely).
and finally: hello! I’m nils, he/him, 18+. thank you for reading up to here!
