I know with @fe-oc-week is over but I still have one oc left to talk about because she gives me so much brainrot. Art is a commission I had done by the lovely @/cathpunn on IG!

Day 1: Introductions

Her name is Amelia von Atalanta/Amelia Fraldarius and she is the second daughter of Baron Atalanta. She was born in a small village in the Alliance Territory.

She has a very crest called the crest of Atalanta, which hasn't been seen since the War of Heroes. It's a very powerful one where whatever emotion they are feeling, the weather changes and increases their magical ability by 25%. It also has a very big recoil, the more they use it, the more it does damage to her body.

Up until she went to the Officers Academy she was described as emotionless and as cold as Northern Faerghus winters. They do have a sharp tongue and can be very straightforward and blunt. She constantly kept her emotions to herself and in check. But when they left the academy and making new friends who saw her as human, she is a very kind, caring, and warm woman.

Amelia got a few nicknames, The Sword of the Alliance and The Winter Rose by people in the Alliance. The nicknames Rodrigue gave them was My Rose and Little Rose.

Her interests include new fighting techniques, eating new food and learning how to cook or bake them, and weapons. They like cooking, baking, sewing, singing, dancing with Rodrigue, and roses. Her dislikes are her father, her sister, Godfrey, Tiana, fighting, and hunting.

Day 2: Relationships

Godfrey: Amelia despises Godfrey. He never appreciated her and her work. He constantly overworked her and always gave her too many missions. They were always in his shadows with wits and tactics. No matter what they did, Godfrey would always criticizes their way of working and would often reprimand them. She never felt like she meant anything to him.

Tiana: Amelia despises Tiana. They never got along and were always fighting with each other. Every time Amelia did something, it always seemed like it was a plight against Tiana. They always found each other annoying but only put up with each other until something big happened in their lives. Amelia always was in the shadows of Tiana in beauty and her boundless cheer.

Judith: While Judith is Tiana's best friend, Amelia would do their best to avoid her, only talking to her when need be. They have a mutual understanding that they were to protect the Riegan family. They aren't very close and Amelia just thinks she is a nuisance that might get her in trouble with Tiana. Judith thinks of them as very lose friend that she wishes to be close with.

Erwin: Amelia hates Erwin with a passion. He would do anything to rile her up to get her mad and get them in trouble, not knowing the serious repercussions of his actions. He always ending up getting badly hurt, or something worse happened. Regardless, Erwin had so much fun making her mad or pranking her.

Duke Goneril: Duke Goneril was one of her closest, and only, friends growing up. Even with the five age year difference, they were pretty close up until adulthood. They would always confide in each other and always helped each other out when they could. Duke Goneril was one of the very few people who knew most of her secrets. They were like siblings.

Rodrigue: Their relationship at first was very rocky. This was mostly due to their differing opinion of knighthood. She didn't like his uptightness about knighthood and his retainership. Since she figured that she would be stuck with him because of the repercussions that would happen to her and her village, she put in the effort being his partner. And when he put in the effort in their relationship, they started to fall in love with each other and he became the love her life and the person she trusted the most.

Lambert: Amelia and Lambert are like siblings to each other. They trust each other very much and would protect each other. They both say their minds to each other without any judgement.

Seraphina: Seraphina was one of Amelia's first true friends after Seraphina realized that Amelia was always left out of things with her own class. They bonded rather quickly and became like siblings to each other.

Raven: Raven was another really close friends to Amelia. Raven was one of the few people who knew that Amelia had a crest and knew that she was engaged to Rodrigue. Sometimes they butt heads, but they are still very close.

Matthias: Matthias' and Amelia's relationship is that one-sided sibling rivalry that takes place. Matthias, for some reason, always tries to one up Amelia and she never knows why. They constantly has to reassure him that they are very aware of his skill set and is happy to know that they can put their faith him to protect people.

Glenn: Amelia loves her oldest son very, very much. Right around, and after, Glenn's birth, she was very worried about his health and well-being. They weren't ever on great terms with Rodrigue's mother as she was constantly having them both killed. Because of this, she became very protective of him. Glenn was attached to her hip, or Rodrigue's growing up, but later became more independent and Amelia couldn't be more proud of him. Amelia is a little concerned that Glenn got their sharp tongue and sarcastic nature. She could only wish he didn't put so much pressure on himself and does something fun and a little wild.

Felix: Amelia loves her baby boy and was really thrilled that he was born. They would do a lot together and he would tell her everything. She is always very concerned about his health since he is always reckless and always doing dangerous things. She wishes her youngest son could take it easy and relax every once in awhile.

Elena: Elena is one of the most trusted confidant that Amelia had gotten and they trust her with the Fraldarius secrets and inner-workings of the house. While that being said, Elena is like a daughter that Amelia never got and she tries to spoil and tells her that they care about her as much as they can.

Day 3: Backstory

Amelia was born the second daughter of Baron Atalanta. She was born in a small village in the Alliance Territory. Growing up they had a hard time making any friends so she spent much time by themself. They try to stay to themself as much as possible, keeping any and all secrets that she had about herself to themself. She was constantly bullied by the people around her so she learned to keep her emotions to herself and had a hard time expressing her emotions. They do have a sharp tongue, and can be straightforward and blunt. She also tries to keep her emotions in check because of her crest and doesn't want to disrupt the weather patterns and end up destroying the earth.

She never really had a good relationship with her family, not after their mother dying. Their father was a greedy man that would suck her people dry. He never gave them the time of day and only used them as a way to climb the social latter since they had a crest and his oldest daughter didn't. Their sister never cared for them and only saw them as a selfish greedy person getting what they wanted and always getting the best 'stuff.'

When Amelia was young, she would often stray from her village and she stumbled upon an exiled kingdom knight that was near death. She was able to get help and save his life. He tried his best to convince him to be her retainer, but it never worked. After a few more attempts, he became her main care giver. Only a few months later, she walked into the forest to find someone else injured and she was able to save his life. This ended up being the biggest change of fate for them. The man they saved was Godfrey von Riegan. He demanded that they be his retainer. She refused multiple times but ended up accepting after her father forcing her to. Because of this, they ended up becoming retainer for the whole Riegan family.

As she grew up, she was groomed to be the perfect person to be married off to a richer noble for her family's gain. Because of this, she was sent to the best schools, especially to the Officers Academy. This is where their father found the richest of nobles. Since he couldn't marry his child to the Prince of Faerghus, he went with the next best thing, the next Duke of Fraldarius, Rodrigue Achille Fraldarius. This led her to become close friends with the Faerghun nobles and made true friendships with them.

Being in a relationship with Rodrigue, and having the friendships she had with the Faerghun Nobles, made her feel loved and welcomed for the first time. Because of this, she was able to open up a lot more and her true personality came out. She was this kind, caring, and warm person. She also has this air of kind elegance that she had around people.

During her time in the Academy their territory was attacked and burned to ashes. They were the sole survivor of the attack. They were devastated because they were the sole protector of the village from bandits, their father, or anyone who attacked the village and everything they worked to make the place happy and prosperous, was gone. It took them a while to feel better.

When she got married, she still had many ups and downs. Her mother-in-law didn't treat her well. She only saw Amelia as a person who would give birth to children with crests and only ever said terrible things to her. Rodrigue did everything he could to make sure that the never interacted with each other. When Rodrigue and Amelia were twenty-two years old, they had their first child, Glenn. Amelia was especially concerned about his well-being.

When Rodrigue's mother found out Glenn was crestless, she knew that Rodrigue loved Amelia and Glenn with his whole heart, she knew that he would never leave them, so she would devise multiple plans to have them both killed. This led to Rodrigue usurping the Dukedom and banishing his mother from the territory. With one last failed attempt to kill them, Rodrigue ended up having to kill his own mother to save the family he truly loved.

By the time Felix was born, the family was happy and cheerful and excited the second son existed. They always wanted to give their sons better than what they did. They gave them so much love and warmth.

Day 4: Tragedy

Amelia had a few tragedies in their life. The loss of their village, no one left but them. The loss of their two friends, Seraphina and Raven. And the third one would be the loss of Glenn, Elena, and Lambert. The people they cared for the most, gone.

Day 5: Joy

Amelia had quite a few when she got into the academy and afterwards. Befriending Seraphina, Raven, Lambert, and Rodrigue. Giving her heart and love to Rodrigue and having his heart and love returned to her. Getting her betrothal gift from Rodrigue, it was a rose hair pin. Giving Rodrigue his betrothal gift, it is the cape that he wears in 3 Houses/3 Hopes. Amelia receiving her wedding ring that was imbued with special magic so she can show her emotions with out any repercussions, it is rose shaped. Their first date with Rodrigue at the beach in Derdriu. Rodrigue and Amelia's wedding day. The birth of their sons, Glenn and Felix.

Day 6: Supports

Amelia's supports would be with Godfrey, Tiana, Judith, Duke Goneril, Erwin, Lambert, Rodrigue, Matthias, Raven, and Seraphina.

With Godfrey:

This would be about her retainership with him and how she felt about people with the other classes. It also be about her being sent on missions.

With Tiana:

Tiana would probably talking to her about a few things. Talking about Amelia's appearance, about Tiana's new crushes, and Amelia supposedly doing something that's a plight against Tiana.

With Judith:

It would be about Amelia being sent on missions and trying to get things done and trying to get them to relax a little bit. It would also probably be about their friendship and how it's not great.

With Duke Goneril:

Duke Goneril would just try to check up on Amelia, making sure they are doing alright and they aren't trying to overwork themself. Also just Duke Goneril being overly doting towards little baby Holst.

With Erwin:

Just them yelling at each other and bickering about one thing or another. It would also be Erwin complaining about nobles, commoners, and his distaste of Godfrey.

With Lambert:

Amelia and Lambert would be talking a little bit out their countries and the differences between them. They would also talk about the plans of Faerghus and stuff about retainership. Lambert would also be doting over Amelia and tell her that she was appreciated.

With Rodrigue:

It would be about their future together and learning things about each other and each other's home. Doing whatever they can to show that they love each other and show that they appreciate one another. They would plan on doing things with each other no matter how small.

With Matthias:

They would talk about training techniques with each other and train a lot. Matthias would also have this weird competition with her and she never understood why.

With Raven:

They talk a lot about magic and trying to figure out how to keep their crest under-wraps and help them to control it and their emotions. There is also a lot of gossip between the two of them.

With Seraphina:

This would be about Seraphina trying to get Amelia to lighten up and to relax. It would also be about them figuring out sometime to hang out and bond to become more like sisters.

Day 7: Endings

There are going to be a few because holy heck Felix wants to be Felix.

With Felix living in Azure Moon/Azure Gleam with Rodrigue dying:

"Amelia felt a pain in her heart when she saw that her beloved son, Felix, returned with Rodrigue's body. Shortly after giving her husband a proper funeral, she stepped down as Duchess Fraldarius and gave the title of Duke to Felix. She lived the rest of her days happy with her son and his children. Future generations told stories of her as a kind Duchess, known for her warmth, kindness and her love of roses. She became a saint of warmth, roses, and protection throughout history."

With Felix dying in Azure Moon/:

"Amelia felt so much pain when both her beloved son and husband were returned to House Fraldarius. After giving them both a proper funeral, she had no reason to stay in Fraldarius. She renounced her title as Duchess, giving the title over to her brother-in-law, and disappeared from the halls of history. The only thing said about them was their ability to heal people after the war and their love of roses."

With Felix dead in Silver Snow/Verdant Wind/Crimson Flower, and alive in Crimson Flower:

"With no reason to live in Fraldarius much longer, Amelia stepped down as Duchess Fraldarius, giving the position over to her brother-in-law. Their wasn't much said about them other than her will to help those in need after the war and that she loved roses."

With Felix alive in Verdant Wind/Silver Snow:

"With no reason to live in Fraldarius, Amelia stepped down as Duchess Fraldarius, giving the position to her brother-in-law. They traveled with Felix in his mercenary band, making sure everyone was healed and better after the war. Her story was told as a saint for her warmth, protection, and roses."

With Felix and Rodrigue alive in Azure Gleam:

"Amelia was relieved that both her beloved husband and son returned home safe and sound. They threw a party in the territory to help raise spirits of those around them before starting to restore their territory. Some time during the restoration, Rodrigue and Amelia gave stepped down from their position, giving it to Felix. Amelia spent the rest of her life happy with her husband, son, and grandchildren. Stories were told of her as a kind Duchess, known to help those around her with warmth, protection, and roses. She also became a saint throughout history for warmth, protection, and roses."

Remembering the first time I played FE3HOPES and the first character who wanted to go on an expedition was Hubert, and I was giddy for the entire day, my coworkers thought I was excited for an actual date.

And then for the next several routes he never wanted to go again, it was always the Gatekeeper that wanted to go.

hubert and you had snuck out into the gardens of the monastery late at night, at a time where nobody else would spot you. it was a full moon night and brighter than usual at this hour of the night. hubert could clearly make out the amused smile on your lips, as you asked him that question.

“do you have a death wish, my love?”

he huffed amused, before falling into silence. he knew that edelgard wouldn't approve of this relationship. you were the enemy after all. or rather, you were with the enemy.

“i suppose lady edelgard would behead me if she knew i was spending my nights with you, roaming around the garden. or perhaps, she'd banish me, sending me into exile. either way, i do not wish to test my theory. it is best that we do not lose a word about us to her, until the war is over”

perhaps, under the right circumstances, things wouldn't end that poorly for the two of you. but as things were now, edelgard wasn't ready to change her view on anyone within the church. and that included you. even if you were nothing like those nabatean monsters…

“i just wish that she and i could've met under different circumstances… perhaps if she got to know me, like you do, we wouldn't have to hide…”

absently, you let your hands wander through a bush of flowers, taking in the view, as a few of the petals fell to the ground. the beautiful colors were barely visible in the moonlight. if only you could admire all that the garden had to offer during the day, with hubert by your side. but for now, this was all that you had. stealing away during the night, to spend time with the man you loved.

“i promise you, my love, that things won't always be like this…”

hubert reached out his hand, gently tracing his fingers over your hand, until your palms were pressed against each other and your finger interlinked.

“one day, we won't have to hide our love anymore. we'll be able to enjoy this view in broad daylight, without fearing what people think of us”

you smiled softly, tracing your thumb over hubert's hand, as he slowly closed the distance between the two of you.

“no matter how long it'll take, this is the future i fight for. one where i can spend every day by your side, without fear or shame. a future, where there's no war and the two of us can live in peace”

hubert gently lifted your chin, smiling down at you. for a moment, he lingered close to you, before closing his eyes and slowly leaning in. your lips met and a smile quickly spread over both of them. you remained like this for a moment, hubert's hands wandering to your waist and pulling you closer.

when you pulled away after a minute or so, hubert still lingered close to you, his forehead leaning against yours. there was a soft smile on his lips, as he said words so special, that you'd remember them for the rest of your life.

“when that day finally comes, where we won't have to hide anymore… will you marry me?”

Summary:

Before the school year at the Officer’s Academy is set to begin, Ferdinand discovers troubling plans related to his own future. As such he must go against his family’s wishes and enter into a contract marriage to protect himself. And the person best suited for this contract is none other than Hubert. Oh dear.

Right. I'm talking about Ludwig again because I just simply cannot stop thinking about House Aegir and the adults of the Empire.

I've mentioned this in a precious post but I think Ludwig was the kind of child who killed small animals. I think there's always been something a little wrong with him but it was exacerbated by his parents poor treatment of him and inability to cope with Ludwig being a little different.

I think Ludwig was a violent child, but I also think he only ever showed that side of himself around very specific people. I think he was a manipulative little boy who learnt very quickly how to get what he wanted and how to use people.

I firmly believe he had an older brother (Rüdiger, or Rüdi for short). I also think he had an older sister (Ida). I think his older brother was probably only a few years older than him with his sister being a year and a half older. I think his brother would take out his frustration on Ludwig and his sister became closed off and reclusive very quickly. I imagine that girls in House Aegir were treated very similarly to Bernadetta in House Varley.

I think Ludwig's older brother was explosive and emotional and would have massive mood swings. He would go from overly attached to disappearing to intensely protective to physically violent.

Ludwig has a crest. He has one. Therefore he is useful to the household and his older brother wouldn't be an absolute necessity. I firmly believe that House Aegir would train all their sons in how to be Prime Minister, just in case and also because it would just generally give them yet another thing they can hold over everyone else.

House Aegir cannot risk their heir dying and their position being handed off to another house. That would be bad for their wealth and their reputation.

I firmly believe that Ludwig spread around a rumour that caused his older brother to be disowned and wiped from the family lineage and then promptly killed his father for power a matter of months later. I think this all happened when Ludwig was sixteen and promptly, under Ionius' recommendation, was promoted to Prime Minister, becoming the youngest Prime Minister ever.

I also believe Ludwig uses his "middle name" which would actually just be his second firstname. I think his legal first name is the same as his father's. So it would be "(Father's name) Ludwig von Aegir".

I firmly believe that Waldemar and Ludwig were friends as children. I think Waldemar shared a lot of opinions that Ludwig did and was raised with similar beliefs. But Ludwig got worse and Waldemar got a little better and when Ludwig became closer friends with Ionius and Marquis (Emmett) Vestra, Waldemar became closer to Leopold. (I will expand more on this when I inevitably write about Waldemar.)

I think that TWSITD have been operating through House Aegir for a little while now and so I think Ludwig would have become familiar with them from a young age and probably started to work with them around the age of sixteen.

I also think Ludwig was who introduced (Emmett) Vestra to TWSITD.

I think Ludwig has a marking on his forearm to show he is a friend of TWSITD and to allow him to "summon" them. (Not really- more like- send a text and then TWSITD can choose whether or not they respond).

I think Ludwig is a lot more intelligent than anyone gives him credit for. He is a fantastic manipulator and can pick up on people's weaknesses in moments. He knows exactly how to disappear, how to get away with things, how to organise crime and other things behind people's backs so they don't even realise what's happening until it is too late. Ludwig is charming. He can come off as nice when he wants to but he does not care. Not in the slightest.

Ferdinand is one of two people Ludwig has ever truly been capable of caring about. Ferdinand and his wife.

I think he and his wife (who I have named Mariele) are very on and off. They have periods of time where they get along really well and are very close and then they go years hating each other and cheating on each other and not saying a word to the other.

I also headcanon that they were married when Ludwig was 14 and Mariele was 13. I also headcanon that these are the ages Ferdinand and Bernadetta were intended to be married off at. But that's a conversation for a different day.

Ludwig does love Ferdinand in a very loose manner. He wants him to a very specific way and demands perfection out of Ferdinand at all times. He is capable of getting along with Ferdinand, of enjoying his company without strings attached. However these never last very long and Ferdinand constantly has to fight to be in his good graces. Ludwig loves Ferdinand at his most capable. Ludwig loves Ferdinand when he can show Ferdinand off and inflate his own ego. Ludwig loves Ferdinand when he can unload his stress and rage onto him because Ferdinand will just listen and absorb it all.

FEA character mini-analyses: black eagles as rebels

Today I feel like explaining why I cast characters the way I did in FEA (my ongoing 3H/EAH crossover fic)! If all goes well this'll be a four-part series--one each for the three houses and one last post for the house lords + Rhea. (I'm sorry Ashen Wolves fans... I'll talk about Yuri in the last post, but I don't think there's much I can say for the rest of his house.)

Now without further ado, let us begin!

Hubert as Faybelle Thorn: let's raise a cheer for everyone's favorite dark fairy!! (please don't this is cursed enough. haha get it? cursed, because he's--) As we all know the most important thing about Hubert von Vestra is his impeccable sense of style, and Faybelle's aesthetic is the only one that comes close. The only major difference between these two characters is that Faybelle is spiteful, while Hubert is simply ruthless. And I think it's enough to make him a Rebel, as the Dark Fairy's actions are nothing but petty. With his father's role being stolen by the Evil Queen, I thought this would add an interesting dimension to his loyalty to Edelgard (whereas Faybelle hates Raven for it). Also, Faybelle's pet is canonically a pomeranian puppy named Spindle, and I wanted to give Hubie a pomeranian puppy named Spindle.

Ferdinand as C.A. Cupid: I needed something to replace nobility as the virtue around which he centers his life, so naturally I decided on the most entertaining alternative--love. In this AU, destiny-bound "true love" serves as a good enough parallel to the corruption of Fódlan nobility. So while he may have some disagreements with Edelgard, he can't argue with her understanding of destiny. Giving him big ol' wings makes him even more annoying to her, which is exactly what I want. ... Okay, yes, I did make him Cupid just because it was the only way I could include "Ferdinand von Aegir Cupid" in this AU.

Bernadetta as Cerise Hood: yes, it does hurt me that Bernadetta's color palette clashes horribly with the RRH aesthetic, but what can a girl do they're the perfect match! Of course Bernie would be shy and reclusive if her father was the freaking Big Bad Wolf. And who wouldn't be anxious having to hide a secret like that in the woods, constantly surrounded by the vicious Wolf people? Of course I couldn't make her as extremely nervous as she was in 3H, but uh. I don't think anyone minds. (We are kicking Count Varley out of the picture by the way please forget he ever existed.)

Petra as Cedar Wood: the only princess besides Edelgard in 3H may be a mere commoner in this retelling, but real queens need no crowns. Cedar's desire to understand humans is the closest in-universe to Petra's desire to understand Fódlan (even if they're for different reasons). Furthermore, I find Petra's honesty works well with Cedar's curse--they're both so endearing for it.

Dorothea as Meeshell Mermaid: we shall forever mourn the lost potential of Meeshell, but Dorothea is a whole other story. Voice of an angel, check. Renowned beauty, check. Most importantly, her longing to be truly seen and loved, check. Let's not forget the Little Mermaid was treated as little more than a pretty plaything in the prince's court, never truly seen by the man she loved. Canon Dorothea fears exactly that. Her being a Rebel is just too perfect.

Linhardt as Briar Beauty: I don't think I need to explain myself here? But... the tricky part about him is that Linhardt would never in a million years be unsatisfied with his destiny. I had to lure him to the dark side with lots of enticing research opportunities on the true nature of destiny-bound curses and succession laws, because of what happened with his mom's story (Evil Queen stealing Dark Fairy's role and all). Anyway, I love imagining him with green crownglasses and the fact that his personality is the polar opposite of Briar's will never not be hilarious.

Caspar as... the son of the White Queen??: yeah so the White Queen doesn't have a kid in EAH; I just couldn't think of anything more suiting for Caspar, both in personality and appearance (a bonus, in my book!). Now technically most of the Wonderlandians are Golden Deer, but like... who cares. Also, it's adorable to picture Caspar having normal conversations with his mom, who is the princesses' advisor, and they're quite literally just shouting at each other. Even if they're on opposite sides of the destiny conflict, I feel like they'd have the sweetest relationship.

And that, my folksies, is that.

Confession: before starting this fic, the Black Eagles were my least favorite house. I didn't understand them at all, but now I am so glad I do. They got that Rebel heart, lads.

THE LIE

Xinyuan speaks of his history with such solemnity, pride and honesty that he has won the hearts of many in the imperial court. The only child of a very patriotic landowner down in his luck who dreamed of seeing his only son earn a position in court, and spent most of his rapidly decreasing resources educating the child. He taught Xinyuan literature, languages, martial skills such as archery, and horsemanship. Yet his wayward son, blinded by his natural talents and the brazenness of his youth, rejected his father's teachings and efforts and left his home with dreams of becoming a renowned poet. Though he produced some works of decent quality, it wasn't long until word reached him that both his parents had fallen ill and died.

Ji Xinyuan believed this misfortune to be a divine punishment for his ungrateful, rebellious behavior, and turned all of his efforts back to the path that had been chosen for him. At the age of 19, he famously prostrated himself outside the imperial palace and begged for "a chance to atone for his sins and fulfill his late father's wish". His talents, strong sense of honor and social graces caught the attention of his superiors and recently earned him a privileged role as one of the bodyguards accompanying the imperial family.

THE TRUTH

Toshihisa was born to Chinese ambassadors and presumed dead in the fire that killed his parents. He cannot remember whether that was the name he was given at birth or not, and he can only speculate whether the event was or wasn't an accident, but he doesn't trouble himself with conjectures. For as long as he can remember, he has had a purpose, and unlike his false persona he accepted the role with great pride.

He received the best education and was raised in privilege. When the time came, he traveled to China, where he had his tale fabricated and his ascension orchestrated. He aims to become the imperial family's most trusted soldier and confidant... and hopes his blade skills will never be required.

THE STORY

After the Reckoning, and the exile of princess Kai-ming, his previous charge, he became the Emperor's bodyguard. He has earned Angelo's trust, when the truth is Xinyuan profoundly despises the man. During the current conflict, he sends word of China's moves to Japan through informants, while simultaneously assisting princess Giuliana in their goal to dethrone their brother.

FE OC Week - Day 2 - Relationships

So before I start off today's prompt for @fe-oc-week, I realize that I didn't talk about the Crests and Relic Weapon of House Umbris or Nick's Personal Skill yesterday. I'll put that here now before we get started.

Personal Skill: Sworn Oath. If adjacent to at least C support ally, or if adjutant shares at least a C support with unit, grants +2/-2 to damage dealt/taken.

Crest of Umbris (Crimson Flower only): The reawakened Crest of the Hero Umbris. For those who are sworn to protect their allies. Frequently preserves weapon durability.

Crest of the Traitor (non-Crimson Flower): The Crest of the Traitor who knows nothing but to destroy those they love. Frequently raises might upon weapon attacks.

Relic weapon - Soul Eater.

(Crest of the Traitor version) Combat Art: Chaos Blade Effective against Heavy Armour and Dragons

(Crest of Umbris version) Magic weapon Combat Art: Guardian's Pulse Halves damage until next turn Effective against Dragons

Alright, now that that's done, on to the day's prompt. Now, my artistic skill is practically non-existent and I don't have any other pics I've gotten, so I'm going to talk about others related to House Umbris and people Nick would already know going into Three Houses' events, so I hope this will do. I apologise in advance if I'm bending the rules a bit, but here we go. ^^;

Umbris

The Hero Umbris, original wielder of Soul Eater, and bearer of the Crest of Umbris. While she was an ally of Nemesis and the Ten Elites, she was a secret devotee of the goddess. Umbris knew that what Nemesis and the others were doing was wrong but she couldn't tell them not to. It was only until the fateful battle between Seiros and Nemesis at the Tailtean Plains where she decided that enough was enough. She turned against her fellow elites and fought alongside Seiros' army. This sudden change caused her Crest to corrupt into the Crest of the Traitor. After Nemesis' death, Umbris went into hiding. She remained on what would become Umbris territory, situated on the border between Adrestia and Faerghus. Hoping that she will eventually forgiven for her misdeeds, she wishes that her descendants will use the power of her Crest to make things right.

Regis von Umbris

The current Count Umbris, and Nick & Matthew's father. A master of magic, he makes use of his powers to help restore the Empire to it's former might. Upon learning of the actions of the Noble families part of the Insurrection of the Seven, while understanding their motives, he remains outraged by the notions and makes the decision to tear away from the Kingdom and devote House Umbris to the Empire.

The Crests of Umbris and the Traitor resonate more clearly in female heirs, similar to Umbris herself. Having lost his female heirs at a young age, and having no Crest himself, Regis begins to worry that his family will never be free of the actions caused by Umbris. That is, until a Crest begins to fluctuate within Nick. Regis' hopes are reignited with his eldest son, and is determined to help Nick awaken his Crest and lead House Umbris to greatness. Because of this, Nick and his father's connection is strenuous at best. Nick believes that his father only cares about his Crest and not much about his own son, and even with his best efforts, Regis not once praised his efforts.

Matthew von Umbris

The second and youngest son of House Umbris, and Nick's younger brother. Gifted in White Magic, in contrast to his brother's focus in Black Magic, the two brothers make a powerful pair. Matthew's a lot more supportive in his brother as a person than his father is, though he does show his cheeky side by joking about Nick's achievements. Nevertheless, he helps House Umbris in his own way, by making use of his own special unit of soldiers, skilled in intelligence gathering, even outdoing House Vestra's spies and able to escape their sight with numerous misdirections.

Matthew would only be able to be recruited on the War Phase of Crimson Flower, but can be recruited during Azure Moon and Verdant Wind should certain pre-requisites come to pass.

Edelgard von Hresvelg

The year before Three Houses events' began, Edelgard meets with Count Umbris to secure their cooperation for what is to come. Regis introduces his two sons to the Imperial Princess, knowing that they would make fine additions to her ranks. Nick is instantly smitten by the princess, and makes his own personal vow to assist her, no matter what happens. Through this meeting, Nick decides that it's time he started taking his efforts to master his magic and swordplay seriously, and to awaken his Crest as soon as he can.

Lorenz Hellman Glocester

During Nick's brief time in the School of Sorcery, he meets the Alliance Noble, though under more trickier circumstances. Lorenz is initially wary of the magic-wielding swordsman, but upon learning who Nick is and his aims, he comes to respect him as a fellow Noble. The two promise to better their magic and become Nobles who will use their magic together to lead the Houses to brighter futures.

Hubert couldn't remember the last time he saw Ferdinand, he really couldn't. The mission that he and Edelgard planned shouldn't be taking this long, he made sure of it. He knew that Ferdinand would complete with perfection, but Hubert took in his irritating personality into consideration when planning. Even for Hubert, it was very eerie that Hubert was still not back at the church.

With Ferdinand's absence, Hubert felt this void throughout his whole body. He tried his best to get rid of the feeling, but most of the time he was just distracting himself. At first it was drowning himself in his paperwork, then when he didn't have that, it was working in the shadows making sure Edelgard's other plans were working seamlessly. There became a point when that everything was taken care of and there was some down time even he couldn't avoid. The darkness that he felt took over yet again.

He was constantly kicking himself in the butt about these feelings. Why was he feeling it? Why did he care about Ferdinand so much? Why did he care about how he ended up home alive? Hubert knew the risks when he planned the mission and Ferdinand knew the risks when taking the mission.

"Ugh" Hubert sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Such a long sigh," Edelgard commented, passing by. "I would say that it's unlike you to sigh, but you always do this."

"You Majesty," he said, looking at her. "I apologize for my demeanor. I did not intend to interrupt you on your walk."

"It's alright," she reassured him. "What's the matter this time around."

"It's something trivial," he dismissed. "Nothing you should worry about. You have more pressing matters to attend to."

"Hubert," she said, her voice becoming deeper. "I highly doubt that this is trivial. Please tell me before I have to order you to do so."

"Very well," he sighed again. "It's Ferdinand."

"Oh, wow," she said, mouth agape. "Now this is unlike you. You worrying about someone else, Ferdinand of all people."

What was more unlike Hubert, he furrowed his brow to her.

"Yeesh," Edelgard sighed. "But this is hardly trivial. Caring for a soldier is a natural for someone."

"Your Majesty," Hubert said in a voice he never, ever gave Edelgard.

She took one giant breathe and exhaled.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty," he profusely apologized.

"Anyway, it is a little concerning that he still isn't back," she continued. "Though it's nice to hear him constantly boast about himself and how he his better than me."

"It's strange that I miss hearing him bickering about something things," Hubert mused.

Edelgard raised an eyebrow.

He sighed, trying to rethink his words. "I guess I just miss his voice."

"I'm sure he is alright," she reassured him. "He likes taking his time to make sure the mission ended perfectly."

"I hope you're right," he said under his breath as she walked away.

Hubert went about his day, trying to find something to fill the void. He did chores around the monastery, he did some paperwork, he trained, and he talked to the soldiers and his friends. When none of that worked, he laid down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. He never took his eyes off of the ceiling, not even when his eyes stared to burn and it felt like it the ceiling lowered itself to put pressure on his chest. That ended up being a more pleasant feeling than the void he had been feeling the past few weeks.

He woke up the next morning, yawning and stretching, not realizing that he had fallen asleep. It was rare for him to do so, but even rare when he didn't realize it. He couldn't even pinpoint when he did; was it when he was thinking of the million stupid ways Ferdinand died or failed, or was it when he thought of the millions of way to distract himself from this whole situation. He would never fully know.

For the most part, his routine was still the same but there were a few things that wasn't the same. He didn't get the millions of meticulous reports that Ferdinand, him getting an earful of what he had to say. The one thing that stayed the same, was him making both coffee and tea. Hubert just sat by himself to drink his coffee and breakfast while watching the tea he made go cold.

"Is that you Hubert," a distant voice called out. "I smell the coffee you love to drink."

"What," he said softly, his ears picking up. "That voice..."

"Ah, Hubert," Ferdinand smiled. "It is you. Nice to see you are enjoying yourself."

"Ferdinand!" Hubert said surprised, getting out of his chair and knocking it over. "You're alive?!"

"Yes, why wouldn't I be?" Ferdinand said in disbelief as he walked over to the table. "May I join you?"

"Of course," Hubert insisted. "You've been gone for months, I was getting worried."

"That is unlike you," Ferdinand said, sitting down. "I am sorry for worrying you, though."

"Ferdinand," Hubert sighed in relief.

"Hm?" Ferdinand asked, taking a sip of the cold tea.

"Where have you been?" Hubert asked. "And this time, I give you full permission to not shut up."

Ferdinand chuckled as he placed the cup down. "Why thank you. You are so gracious Marquess Vestra."

Hubert smiled and shook his head. He listened to the ever riveting story about how he completed the mission perfectly, and how afterwards he got lost. He wasn't surprised that Ferdinand got lost and ended up helping a village on the way back, he was still a buffoon to him.

"So, my dear Hubert," Ferdinand said, holding out his fork with food on it. "What have you been doing lately?"

"Picking up your slack," Hubert teased.

"Ah, I bet the extra workload hasn't been too stressful," Ferdinand teased.

"It kept me busy, to say the least," Hubert said, taking the last drink of coffee he had.

"I wish sometimes you would relax," Ferdinand frowned.

"When you have a friend of yours gone, you have to make it up," Hubert reminded him. "Especially one as important as you."

"Awe, thank you Hubert," Ferdinand said, taking Hubert's hand.

"Don't read too much into it," Hubert growled.

"Too late," Ferdinand said, kissing Hubert's gloved hand.

"Whatever," Hubert said, trying to repress his blush.

"Why don't we spend the day together then," Ferdinand smiled. "We can do whatever you want. It can even be paperwork."

"Don't tempt me," Hubert said, taking their plates.

Ferdinand smiled, helping him with the dishes.

Hubert caved in and allowed himself to relax, even if it was with Ferdinand. All they did was clean dishes, go to the market to grab a few things, and do nothing. All in all, it was a nice day for him. With Ferdinand being back, the void and emptiness that he was feeling was gone. Maybe it wasn't a bad thing to be around him at all. After all, Hubert wouldn't mind if he spent the rest of his life alive if Ferdinand was there at every step of the way.
