trying very hard to look forward to otakon tomorrow and sunday…i’m bummed i can’t do seluvis till next katsucon LOL

also think i’m more upset about my aunt passing away than i thought i’m not crying or anything but i feel deflated and tired suddenly and struggling to look forward to anything that isn’t playing new vegas 🗿

Scalped FF tickets won't work anyway. The OG purchaser has to be present so you may end up buying tickets from someone who isn't themselves going to be in Vegas, and you'll be out of luck.

If you're on the east coast, Otakon is the same weekend, and lots of us are planning a mini FFXIV gathering there as a "we didn't get fanfest tickets" alternative party. This will scratch the "I want to meet up with friends" and "I want to wear an awesome costume with other XIV people" itch for me, personally, so this is the route I've opted for. It'll be cheaper, too.

And if it's like years past, there will be a live stream of almost all the events other than the concert, so you can still watch the reveal for 7.0 and the developer discussions! There will almost certain be tons of live discussions in various discord channels. You won't be left out!

Financial safety reminder: Don’t buy scalped Fanfest tickets.

Don’t let FOMO push you to spend irresponsibly. It’s okay if you’re not getting the chance to go go. After dealing with SE NA since FFXI’s golden years, just wish for the best for those who managed to buy tickets.

Whether you’re going or not, be careful with using credit. CPI reported a 6.0% rate of inflation (https://www.bls.gov/cpi/), and interest rates are projected to increase again next week.

I'm not sure if anybody who follows me has been to Otakon Vegas in recent years BUT ON THE OFF CHANCE ANYONE HAS What's the con like? I'm thinking of signing up for a table there but I know it's still fairly new. Any input is appreciated!
