I was trying to defend Ravi but... All what I got is just disappointments, hatred and wanted me to stop telling me to show the real truth about his scandal.

It made me very upset that I wanted to vent. I felt hurt and traumatized as a Kpop fan with Autism. Ravi is my comfort and makes me feeling safe but why does anyone trying to hurt my comfort?

And it made me think that I'm losing all hope right now.

I really tried to defend Ravi but they want to get myself be defeated and telling me that I should stop being a fan of VIXX and Ravi anymore.

I feel like...I wanted to hug Ravi again...even tighter this time... Can't you see that he's been a LOT going through while everyone sending hate and death threats and people rather put into blame to Ravi and believing the lies?! I am very mad and disappointed in you who hurt Ravi, who ridiculed Ravi or anything bad happened to Ravi.

Yes, he made mistakes and such like that but IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD SEND HATE!

Look at it now... After Ravi left VIXX months ago, KBS decided to edit out Ravi's appearance on 2 Days 1 Night season 4 and not to show reruns on episodes that shows Ravi AND turning Ravi's WeVerse accounts into an archive.

If you can't believe me to share the real truth about RAVI's military scandal...so be it. It's your loss and not mine.

This year 2024, I don't want to see ANOTHER heartbreak and losing the things that made me happy EVER AGAIN! Ravi is one of the few things that comforts me. Don't EVER think that you're going to interfere with me.

CONGRATULATIONS JADE for officially not losing your mind and coming on top of the whole thing. CONDOLENCES to JIM for catching the crazy ball and going full conspiracy theorist now it's him that i'm most worried for. basically what tabitha said. they don't know but they gotta cope with not knowing. i'm glad to see jade and tabitha on the same wavelength about that because from my personal experience i think it's the healthiest mindset you can have in a situation like that. jumping to conclusions like i was saying in my other post is extremely dangerous.

also glad to see jade's first actual contribution to everyday life in the town. hilarious that's gonna be "better alcohol" but awesome that he found something to work on to keep him sane. "i needed a project that wasn't fucking terrifying" i love you jade. your soul is beautiful. also i don't care if i'm grasping at straws but i think victor interrupting him when he was in the middle of his crazy guy skit really helped him stay grounded so he kind of wanted to help tabitha too and that's why he roped her along on his project. like "okay, i'll give you the crazy town lore BUT you gotta do a normal person thing too to balance it out and not lose yourself in this". or maybe he was just lonely and wanted someone to work with him on his project. i've been lowkey shipping them since before they even interacted so i guess this episode was like my personal christmas.

ship or no ship i think it's really important for tabitha to open up with someone outside of her family. it's probably gonna make her family life better to have, you know, friends. jade has a talent for knowing what to say around really heavy topics. telling her "fuck, that sucks, i don't think you're being punished though, i think maybe bad things are just happening and that's it" was really what she needed to hear. in the early episodes tabitha complains to jim that him acting like he knows everything and saying it's all going to be fine like it's obvious makes her feel like she's "doing something wrong". jim's kind of doubling down on acting like he's got it all figured out so i'm glad tabby has a friend that's more on her wavelength now.

i'm fully biased because of my own personal experiences i'll admit it, but i don't think trying to fix a relationship that went south a long time ago is always the best course of action. parting ways doesn't have to be a tragedy, sometimes it's a really good thing. in s1 it looked like they were kinda fixing it but now it feels like they're further apart than at the beginning of the show. i feel really bad for jim but he's gotta pull himself out of that hole he's digging for himself. he's not just jumping to conclusions about things he can't know, he's rejecting reality ("that's what they want you to think!!!" about tabitha defending victor because he's proved time and time again that he's a good man) and leaning on someone that's encouraging him to keep thinking that way and who he barely knows. i'm thinking what other character could help him but i'm kind of drawing a blank. maybe also jade. just pushing my ot3 agenda sorry guys.

even though pregnancy in fiction is kind of an ick of mine (SPECIALLY when something goes supernaturally wrong with the pregnancy like, the lord is testing me i guess...?) so i can't really get on board the excitement some of the characters show, i'm really enjoying the "can any of the supernatural wild stuff happening here actually be GOOD" theme with the pregnancy and the changing of the leaves. fatima gave me some strong john locke (the bald guy, not the philosopher) vibes with the pregnancy when she's not supposed to be able to have kids. but i'm not gonna be able to breathe well again until they confirm that's not gonna be some night creature baby thing. if i could i'd honestly abort in that situation like absolutely not risking that possibility like can you imagine? can you freaking imagine. nononono. not taking that chance. nopp.

ANYWAY victor and ethan were so sweet and sad and i'm sobbing. victor saying he wants to protect ethan because bad things always happen to his friends here :')))) give me 10 thousand tissues please. but he let him help in the end and ethan was so happy. i'm actually sobbing. i love them i love them i love them. their friendship has my whole heart. also, love victor's vest.

love himmmmmmmmmmmm love him love him he was just flying his drone, he was going to his nephew's bday and that was such a badass present to give. love this guy what can i say. he has such a cute smile too. he's just got there and he knows nothing and i'm scared for him. the bit he added to jim's theory is SO dangerous though like starting to distrust each other is the last thing they should be doing. hell randall himself could be the person that's "in on it" for all we know, that's one hell of a question to raise if you want to cause disruption on purpose. i don't think he is though but like jim should consider it before he goes around distrusting people that have proven to be kind hearted like victor.

kenny's warning to jade in s1 ("the people who can't adapt here, when they can't bend, they break") rings specially true for jim rn. he's genuinely not past his first impression of victor, who he mistook for a child molester when they first arrived (rightfully let's be honest, he was being creepy to an outside observer and he did point his gun at him). unlike jade who's changed his approach (from "i don't do impossible" to "maybe crazy awful shit happens here and that's it"), jim's been completely unable to get past his first impressions of everything and is cracking under the pressure, and pulling apart from his loved ones bc of it... really worrying.

Tsurugi for the character bingo!! Tell me your thoughts about my darling Tsuru-wan :3c

Tsurugi is one of those characters that I started off being on the fence about like. Ehhh I dunno if I like him, he's not really doing it for me. Im just kinda not interested. I don't get the hype. And then boom. Character development. I havent been the same since. I do very much love him but still at the end of the day he's not a fave of mine. Like no thoughts head empty but I WILL defend him to the death. He's never done anything wrong in his life so long as we ignore all the atrocities that weren't even his fault in the first place.

And with the dynamics and ships its like, I love C3 trio. OT3, broT3, anything going on with them. Takuto has three daddies!!!! THREE!!!! Takuto's herd of dads!!!! And I love what was going on between him and Freya!!! I want them to talk again!!!! Please lets goooo!!!! And also his dynamic with Touma. Like, its bad. Fuck Touma. But storywise and like. Just fascination in general. I love it. IT COMPELS ME! Thats a good way to put it. I am compelled by it!!!!! Its like. At the end of the day Touma did save Tsurugi from his original shitty situation and Touma IS family to him and the complexity of it COMPELS ME!!!

And I am driven insane by his dynamic with Mikuni!!! I want them to beat the shit out of each other!!! I am so excited to get back to that in future chapters!!!! Tsurugi throwing the cloth over Mikuni and Might Guy style Dynamic Entry kicking him into a wall!!!! Mikuni lassoing around his neck and yanking him through the hospital window onto the ground!!! The way Tsurugi's existence alone pisses Mikuni off. The fact that Tsurugi rubbed off on Mikuni so now they have things in common. Like gkfnfofnkfnf it drives me insane!!!! Its the hatred and violence about their relationship that I love. I cant stand the ship tho. Theres so much. It's impossible to escape seeing it. I am SO sorry 😔 They very much do have ex-boyfriends who were in a toxic relationship energy tho and that's fucking hilarious to me. Like the idea of them as vitriolic exes is VERY amusing.

Just. He's good. Pupper good. Not fave, but still good. I think it's his relationships with others that I like the most when it comes to him. I want him to be happy but also I want to see him bite and kill and rip and tear :)

Sadie Adler / Arthur Morgan have had my heart since Clemens Point. Though, I did have a soft spot for Sadie on her own and would look for her at Horseshoe Overlook. But after going with her to Rhodes I knew I loved the idea of her and Arthur together. At that point I knew of his previous thing with Mary and thought ya know Arthur doesn’t need to be with someone who wants to change him even if it is for the better (no hate on Mary/Arthur shippers of course!) and the fact that Sadie could definitely handle herself created this dynamic in my head of how she’s wild and fierce and maybe even scares Arthur on occasion but she’s exciting. But yeah basically, to sum up all that which probably doesn’t make much sense or come out how I wanted, I ship both of my faves together. 

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

I actually don’t have one. I haven’t gotten super active in the community yet and haven’t gotten into many discussions so no one has “changed my mind” i guess. I do enjoy the posts for Arthur/Charles even if I’m REALLY hung up on Arthur/Sadie. I guess maybe Abigail and John could count? I didn’t really notice them or their relationship for a bit until I saw all the love for them on my dash which made me realize that they’re right there.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending

I wracked my brain for like fifteen minutes trying to remember if I had any rdr headcanons and came up empty. I’m still on my first playthrough and honestly most if not all of my headcanons for anything come after i’ve completely absorbed the media. It’s like being able to look at the character as a whole from what we know of the beginning to end helps with headcanon building for me. but i’ll be sure to share any if i do happen to remember one or if i develop one.

I see what you did there Dawn :3 A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s) Daud/Thomas (Dishonored) Corvo/Geoff (Dishonored) Ares/Thanatos (Hades) Jorah/Daenerys (Game of Thrones) I also have a ridiculously long list of other pairings I ship wholeheartedly, but these are the true OTPs. Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why As a certified multishipper, I don’t abandon ships that easily – I just add them to the ever-growing list. But one ship that I initially adored and then changed my mind about is Delilah/Breanna. I played Dishonored 2 on High Chaos for my first run, and Delilah’s reaction to Breanna’s death, combined with the interactions between them before that point, made me really like the ship. It was a nice way to offer some humanity to Delilah, because she’s not seen truly caring for another person (romantically or otherwise) other than Breanna. And Breanna’s loyalty and devotion hit all the right notes for me – I’m always sucker for loyalty. But then I played Low Chaos, and Delilah’s reaction to Corvo or Emily taking away Breanna’s powers is to just… discard her because she no longer useful. It really soured the ship for me. Breanna Ashworth deserved better and I will die on that hill. R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships Did you mean: All of my ships :’) I have an odd penchant for honing in on ships that very few people seem to ship or even have thought of? I don’t know what’s up with that, it’s a talent. I have two fics up on AO3 that are the only one in their ship tag, and one that has a whopping two fic (one of which is mine, and it was the first one), so that should tell you enough. I also have multiple fics in the works for incredibly obscure ships – Teague Martin/Liam Byrne, anyone? Daud/Aramis Stilton? Geoff Curnow/Lizzy Stride? Yeah, I’m writing fics for all three of those ships. Why? Because I can. T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything) I don’t know about “die defending”, since headcanons are just for fun and people have a right to disagree with my interpretations of events, but there are a few headcanons I’m very passionate and/or bullheaded about. 1) Thomas was born nobility. He just has that vibe – no one is that polite and has such perfect posture without having it drilled into them. I love all interpretations of Thomas, but noble!Thomas has wormed himself so firmly into my brain I’m having a hard time imagining him with any other backstory. 2) Daud does not have tattoos. Maybe this one is a bit of an anti-headcanon? There’s a lot of fanart and fanfics in which Daud is tattooed, and while it definitely fits his aesthetic, I really don’t think he would ever allow someone near him with that tattoo needle. I just don’t see him having enough trust in anyone to do that for him (especially if he had to turn his back to them). I don’t know, but Daud being fully inked has never seemed plausible to me. 3) Liam Byrne can play the violin. The Heart has a line about Byrne’s mother trying to encourage his talent with music, but Byrne being too eager to become an Overseer to care. I imagine he picked up the instrument again after becoming an Overseer, practicing while off-duty. Inherent talent and his own perseverance have made him into an exceptional musician – he could make a career of it, if he wanted to. U - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms Geoff Curnow (Dishonored) Ares (Hades) Jorah Mormont (Game of Thrones) (but not Jorah from ASOIAF) Sig (Jak and Daxter) Anders (Dragon Age) I don’t have a type, shut up. For the character meme: Clint

still making my way slowly through the last (checks) eight of these I got before the cutoff, plus one amnesty ask because it was too good an opportunity to ignore).

How I feel about this character: I’m very fond of him, including (unpopular opinion!) the MCU version. That was my first Clint, for one thing, and I do think he’s underrated. Or overhated, or maybe both. 

For a character who isn’t, like, one of mine in the way some are, I’ve actually thought a fair amount about him, and have pretty extensive headcanons, of which my favorite remains the ways in which he’s kind of a mother hen about other people (less great with himself! but other people for sure he can be sometimes a bit of a mom friend.

I just love this concept because it squares so ridiculously with ‘competent assassin’ and then you also have ‘will sit you down and make you soup and it’ll actually be good soup, too.’ Also the fact that he just. Keeps adopting strays. Apparently that’s what he does. 

And I appreciate that about him.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Clint/Natasha was my original OTP, but Clint/Loki remains an absolute fave. It’s a house on fire and I love it. I also have a bit of a thing for one-sided Clint/Steve and Clint/Thor because Clint being kind of an in-denial bisexual is always my headcanon.

But Clint’s true weakness is women who can and might step on him. Show Clint a woman who can kick his ass and he’s probably there.

Also for the MCU Laura/Clint/Natasha is a perfectly great OT3.

For comics, I’d add that Clint/Bobbi is good. In any universe Clint/Natasha/Bucky is a great OT3 also, and Clint/Bucky is just straight up a good pairing. But people tend to write that last one as nice and that is really not how I see it.

Any good Clint/Bucky should involve as much bitching each other out as possible.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Again, Natasha. I don’t care what form their relationship takes, just that it is significant to them both. 

Also Kate Bishop, in comicsverse (and hopefully soon in MCUverse??). And Steve. Honestly most of the above ships I could easily convert to this category as well.

That’s the thing about a lot of my shipping, I think, is that a lot of the time I don’t care if it’s “romantic” or “non-romantic,” it’s just a relationship I like the dynamic of and want to play with in one form or another.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I feel like I already said it but I will say it again: I like MCU Clint. I will defend this stance. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. I would’ve loved deaf Clint Barton, obviously. That would’ve been great.

Also just like...more of his character in general? A lot of my headcanon work is extrapolation, and I think a lot of that is fair extrapolation based on what we get in the text, but we don’t get a lot in the text.

Vampire Diaries:

Bits of Sunshine is my favorite Vampire Diaries fic, it has a really funny and charming OC and gives you a different perspective of the main characters and it really inspired me with my own TVD fanfic, it’s still on hiatus but it’s nearly 500k makes up for it 

The Bystander offers a unique view to OCs, where the OC is separated from the main plot for the most part but interacts with main characters that eventually pull her in

Crimson Peak is really good if you love a powerful Bonnie Bennett, it explores the magic of Expression more and her family background and OC Bennetts and it offers a interesting plot and a rare pairing of Klaus/Bonnie

The Next Chapter is a Buffy crossover fanfic, it puts Buffy in the Vampire Diaries, and though I still haven’t finished it was pretty good at meshing the two shows and exploring more of an older Buffy ~

My Paper Heart is really good if you’ve been trying to look for f/f in this fandom and haven’t found it, it not only explores the oc’s sexuality but also their supernatural identity

beneath the steady waves of fearless hope and grace is also a really good queer bennett witch oc, the oc wakes up in TVD in the body of her parallel fictional universe self I guess you could say, and it has a lot of angst like whoo boi, prepare yourself, it’s so good! 

Human is pretty good, love their oc, it hasn’t been updates in a very long while but it has 100k+ and it’s 100% worth it if you’re looking for something different

Harry Potter:

Changes Everything is really good at addressing the potential problems in the Wizarding World through the lenses of an OC, and it has Harry getting the family he fucking deserves sooner rather than later, and it goes into amazing detail and depth over the magics of the universe. also, lots of lgbt+ characters~

@nonchalantxfish ‘s Rose Petal Red is so good, like, you want Slytherins being amazing and devious, this is the fic for you! you want ocs galore?? this is for you! you want changes to the plot but with serious consequences?? this one is for YOU! Although it’s on haitus rn, it has a shit ton of words, like 500k+ and it’s 100% worth it~

The Clockwork Locket is so good guys, it’s an Marauder era fic, and it has an amazing mix of humor and mystery and romance and friendship and by the end you’ll be shipping the oc with literally everyone lmao, but overall it’s just really good if you’re looking for a Sirius/OC but still want to read about the mysteries in Hogwarts and the OC has her own plot and storyline. The second installment is still in progress but the first installment is like 270k words

Daphne Greengrass, Side Character is what it says on the tin, it’s about daphne and takes a different approach to the character with humor and wit, it’s very enjoyable, still not finished but it’s at 100k+ words

To Be a Slytherin, pretty sure everyone’s seen this one at one point, it’s a really good oc potter twin fanfic, goes into detail with magic and it’s just really good and has one of the longest word count i’ve ever seen at 1,166,349 

The Observer Effect is a MCU crossover with adult fem!Harry, it hasn’t been updating in a while, but from what I remember it’s super good and funny!

Naruto:

A Holmes in Konoha is super good, an Holmes OC is reincarnated as a orphan in Konoha, it explores the Nara’s more and it’s just so good at meshing investigation, friendship and relationships, action and drama~ 

Deja vu no Justu is a time travel fic, it’s really good, have not caught up to it since it first started but it has 500k+ words written and from what I remember it was very well written, like holy shit that was good writing ~

How to Obtain a Reverse Harem in Naruto by @burntpetal16 is pretty freakin good at making me laugh, it’s a remake of their finished fanfic, Sakura, which is equally as good, it’s about an self-insert OC suddenly waking up as Sakura, and Sakura def does what it says on the tin but also there’s an air of mystery surrounding the OC and how they got in the universe who she was before

The Yondaime’s Assistant is finished at 165k+ words and it’s good, like so good, it’s an OC reincarnated into Naruto fanfic, and it’s different from a lot of other OCs in the fandom because the OC goes into the Genin Corps instead of going out into the field, the writer manages to enthrall you with paperwork basically as the OC saves people from the background, it’s also endgame poly relationship between her, Genma and Kakashi!

After the Rain is a fem!Naruto time-travel fanfic, another fic which i haven’t finished, but from what I remember it was it’s done really well and has a lot of angst and drama and action and it’s just, prepare YOSELF for HEART wrenching ANGST!! also it’s 500k+ words!

The Witcher:

The Sorceress, The Witcher, The Bard and a Girl is what it says on the tin, it’s AU and an established ot3 situation w Yen/Geralt/Jaskier and it’s just,,, family fluff, disgusting domestic with all the drama that comes with three emotionally... complicated people trying to raise a young girl who has powers, starts off in a small town

Lullaby of the Isles is more so the game/book fandom, but it’s so good that I just didn’t care about that small fact, it’s still only four chapters but all together those four chapters have 17k+, and it’s about an OC suddenly waking up as a siren, a boss monster siren to exact, right after the siren had killed someone, and it’s just really good and different

And Yet Here We Are  is a collection of more ot3 fanfic of Yen/Geralt/Jaskier, it’s basically a lot of sexy times, but also some funny situations

to grow in adversity is the only fanfic that on this list i haven’t actually read, but the premise seems interesting enough, it’s about Renfri surviving and it has Jaskier as her baby bro

Better Love is surprise! another ot3 fanfic, only this time, you get to feel the pain of an unestablished relationship, it’s basically just Yen & Jaskier bickering while Yen tries to get Jaskier to fuck Geralt. It’s v horny, with a big hunking side of angst and some fluff. Completed and waiting for me to finish the last two chapter!

Teen Wolf: 

Sonder is @musiciatee​ ‘s OC fanfic, and it’s so good??? like every update I get to read blesses my imaginary crops, cures my depression and makes my skin glow like an goddess. If you’re looking for a good POC OC in this fandom, this is it okay. 

Kerosene Hearts and Matchbox Bodies is an OC fanfic, by @thegalanerd​, it’s being reworked right now, but 100% worth the read, but like, I would recommend any of their fanfics, it’s all very good like HOLY SHET it’s good. 

Red Rover, Red Rover is a pretty damn good OC fic, it’s on hiatus but it has 73 chapters and like nearly 500k words, it’s very dramatic, angsty, slow burn, mysterious, and the OC has their own little drama to deal with outside of the main plot

The Unconventional Life of Abigail McCall is probably one everyone has read by now, but if you haven’t, give it a shot, it made me smile a lot

Doctor Who: 

Three of a Kind, The Stuff of Legends is an male OC Tyler fanfic, and by god it is so good, very angsty, lots of drama, very AU, lowkey domestic, this drama gay OC must be protecccted at all costs

London Born is another Tyler OC, but Rose and her have different dad’s and she’s a character of color and bisexual, it’s just such a good fucking story and a favorite of mine, it’s also very AU and has a lot of original stories that the OC goes on, sometimes by themselves. It’s the first in a series, but this first installment is finished so I’d suggest subscribing to the collection for the second installment~

The Blonde Girl is the first installment of an AU of Rose’s start in the Doctor’s life, starting with them meeting randomly during different parts of their life and it basically slowly weaves Rose into the Doctor’s life/past. It’s really good, haven’t finished it yet, but I liked how they changed/expanded Rose’s character. Once you finish that you’ll want to start Defender of the Earth and The Companion Connection, the other’s I haven’t read yet so I don’t know the order they go in, but they’re all like 100k+ words and the author is still regularly updating their newest installment so enjoy~

Alexander-The Seer and Changer of Time is probably the longest DW OC fic out here, and was only last updated early last, but at a word count of  1477k+, I’m sure we’ll survive. This is another fic I haven’t finished reading, but one I’d high recommend either way. If I’m remembering correctly, don’t like quote me on this, but I believe their OC was non gender conforming.

The Dread of Tomorrow and Yesterday  was sadly cut short before the author finished, but the OC is so amazing and just my hero, and a character of color, will fight everyone and probably win, and just I love this OC so much and even though it probably won’t ever be finished it’s worth the read and it’s at nearly 800k so, enjoy each word~

Sailor Moon:

Rabbit of the Moon, is literally the ONLY fic I’m rec in this fandom, mainly because it’s the only fanfic I’ve ever read in this fandom, but it’s so good, like I was just feeling nolgastic over what was my first anime, but the OC is so...scary and smart and cunning and intense af

Twilight:

Twilight'd is a really good OC, it made me laugh a lot, and it makes you love the characters more than the actual writer made you like them

A Hundred Winks of Sunshine by @tsume-yuki​ is so good, like, I don’t know how to articulate how much I love their SI!Bella, like, I don’t read these types of stories a lot, but, tbh any story made them is just worth taking the risk to read because you won’t be let down. It’s very funny and charming and so good!

GOT/ASOIAF:

How To Lose Your Dragon is not really what it says on the tin, trust me I would never read a fic that would have anyone steal Dany’s dragons, it’s just the dragons like Jon, hmm I wonder why?? kind of fic, and I really love the way the writer writes Dany 

Can beauty come out of ashes is another Dany-centric fanfic, and it’s really good so far, but I’m only on the second chapter so I can’t say much but I like the idea of the Starks and Dany becoming pack. It ignores s7-8, so we already love~

MCU:

The Scientist is a good Loki/OC fanfic, like it’s so good because the OC doesn’t put up with any shit, and is very smart and it’s just so freakin good and cute and such a fucking slow burn, like get ready for some slow burn

Just An Old Fashioned Love Song by @izhunny​ is such a good Frostiron fic, like, so fucking good, just THE FLUFF~ THE DOMESTICS??? SO GOOD!! ALSO!! ALMOST ALWAYS MAKES ME FREAKING HUNGRY!!! haven’t finished this, but I’d highly recommend it 

Code Blue by @jarvis-is-my-copilot​ likeee, I haven’t finished reading this either, haha sorry, but I really like the OCs and it’s just.....SO....GOOD!!!

The Wooden Puppet is a really good OC fanfic, very different from ur usual OC, love the way the OC interacts with the characters and I love the way it started, it’s hilarious

Archaic Kinds Of Fun is like, all of my dreams and hopes for the Avengers put into one fic with an amazing OC, like did you want the team as a family, or hell even friends??? do you want them to get fuckin therapy??? HERE YOU GO! It hasn’t been updated in a while because the author has been through a tough time, but it’s at 370k+ and it’s just really good. an inspiration to me. Bruce/OC too, which is rare, but like, it’s just so fuckin cute and the OC is super fucking close w Tony too and Loki joins in later in the fic and it adds some comic book characters but, WOO, it’s just...SO GOOD!

Lilies Say Sorry is another Loki/OC fanfic that I liked that didn’t make me concerned over the power dynamics of Loki being a, well god. It’s the first in it’s installment, still haven’t finished the second installment, shocking, I know, it’s almost like I have a habit of doing that. But I’d highly suggest reading this, it’s just so good and the DRAMA!

I Need You is a Tony/Reader, and like, I usually don’t read Reader fics, but holy shit this is so good and the Author doesn’t do Y/N to address the character, but like, it’s just really good at drawing you in and it’s good at putting the character into the movies in a fresh way. It cured my acne. Very regular updates. almost at 400k. 

Caught Hot-Rod Red Handed is a Stony fic, it’s really fucking good at making me laugh so I’d highly suggest reading this if you’re feeling low, but also don’t read this late at night, you’ll wake up ur family and make them think ur laughing in ur sleep

Life In The Fast Lane is a Fast and Furious crossover fanfic, it’s the first installment, but you don’t need to know anything about the movies to be able to read it, it’s Tony/OC, (hahha you can literally see who I favor from my recs), and it’s so good, and the OC is bisexual and I love her and more people need to read because the author writes romance and action so freaking good

ps: please leave a nice review on their fanfics if you do read and enjoy some of these, because just one nice comment can make a fanfic writers day if not week, it lets them know that real people really are reading their stuff, even if it’s just a ‘good chapter’

OT3 Headcannons (Sirius x Reader x James)

1) Who rocks the Ferris Wheel seat and who flips out and begs them to stop? James rocks the Ferris Wheel, you freak out, and Sirius alternates between rocking and scolding James for scaring you. The three of you hold hands the entire time, much to the confusion of those around you. 

2) Who is always horny and will have sex at any time, at any place and at any time? Um... James and Sirius both have a HIGH sex drive, Sirius has better stamina then James, though, so he can go for a few rounds with no break. Sirius is also more open to doin’ it anywhere, anytime. However, that doesn’t mean James ain’t down to clown--cause he is. The three of you tend to find yourselves stuffed in closets or under bridges because one of the boys just couldn’t keep his hands--or words--to himself. Lovable lil pervs. 

3) Who is more into taking showers/baths together? Who tries to make it relaxing and who tries to make it sexy time? James LOVES bathing together, preferably in the tub so he can hold you both and get held. He loved to be in the middle with Sirius behind him and you in his lap, kissing on you both. Sirius actually likes to make it relaxing, washing your hair and lighting candles and playing soothing music. James is usually the one who goes into it with...less than pure intentions, but YOU’RE the one who almost always initiates the sexytime. You just can’t help yourself, they’re both all wet and warm, and their hair is all soft and...mmmmmm......

4) Who likes to walk around the house naked and who tells the other to go put some clothes on? You like to be naked, and they both yell at you to put clothes on, but for different reasons. James does it because he doesn’t want the neighbors seeing you--that’s for him and Sirius only, and Sirius does it because he can’t concentrate on anything when you’re walking around like that. 

5) Who sleeps on the couch when they get into a fight? James. Sirius usually broods until someone goes to him and forces him to talk things out. James is usually the loudest in an argument, and therefore gets banished to the couch until he winds down. You tend to barricade yourself in your room when you’re mad at either of them, and the boys have to try to get you out. But whatever the case, you all usually try to resolve the problem before the night is up.

6) Who takes photos of the other while they sleep? JAMES. He has the two most beautiful people on the blanket who love him, of course he takes photos of them! Plus you look like an angel when you sleep, and Sirius is a living piece of art, so James has to appreciate it!

7) Who said “I love you” first? and who ends their arguments in a fight with “Because I love you”? James said it first, to the both of you at once. He’s the most emotionally stable and open, so it was very easy and natural for him to come out and say it. You usually say “I love you” as a goodbye, when you’re leaving the house or at the end of a letter. Sirius says it in the middle of a fight, when emotions are high and he starts feeling like things are getting out of his control. He also says it when you and James are falling asleep, softly in your ears or whispers it into James’ hair. He’s really just a soft boi at heart. 

8) Who likes to wear the others sweatshirts? YOU. 100% you. You wear Sirius’ leather jacket and James’ Quidditch jersey ALL the time. They think you look simultaneously adorable and hot when you wear their clothes. Sometimes Sirius wears your underwear, and it drives you and James BONKERS. He looks better in them then you do. 

9) Who wakes the other up in the middle of the night to tell them a cool dream they had? Who has the most nightmares, and who sings them back to sleep after? James wakes you up for the cool dream, all wide eyes and low whispers while Sirius listens intently and you grumble and complain about being woken up. Sirius has nightmares the most often, usually about his own family, and you and James sing him to sleep. Sometimes it works right away, and sometimes the two of you put on full performances (complete with costume changes); either way, it relaxes Sirius, and you and James are happy to do it. 

10) Who is more likely to cheat? None of you? Just... no. None of you. 

11) Who makes fun of the other for having a crush on them, and who has to remind them that they are in a relationship? James, mostly. You usually make fun of yourself for dating them, and Sirius is usually the one saying “a terrible decision, really” when either of you say you love him. 

12) Who starts a food fight in the kitchen? Sirius! He’s a rich bitch who always had plenty of resources, but too many rules, so now that he has his own place with the loves of his life, he’s always down to start chucking food. 

13) Who initiates duets? and who is the better singer? James initiates them, but you’re usually the one who takes it up a notch and starts impersonating Mariah Carey. Sirius, however, is the better singer out of all of you.  

14) Who starts the hand holding? Who grabs the others butt? Who slides their arm around their waist? Who likes to put their fingers in the belt loops? In order of the questions: You, James, Sirius, You again. The three of you are almost always touching in some kind of way. 

15) Who likes writes the others name on their wrist? You. You have Sirius on the right and James on the left. 

16) Who is more seductive when they are drunk? and who is louder in bed? You become one hell of a seductress once that liquor gets in ya, and James is already loud, but once he’s drunk--you and Sirius have to resort to kissing him to shush him. What a drag ;)

17) Who is more protective? All three of you are protective of each other. You’re more vocally protective of Sirius to his family, but James is quick to defend Sirius to Sirius. Sirius is very protective of you and James (don’t pity the dead, Harry, pity the ones who insult or offend Sirius’ bf/gf), and has been known to make things physical if he feels it’s necessary. In the end, all three of you are protective, because all three of you know that the ones you love deserve to be protected. 

18) Who talks to the other while they are sleeping? We’ve already covered that you and James sing Sirius to sleep sometimes, but James sometimes tells you stories or about how much he loves you when you’re sleeping, and Sirius tends to jump in and add in his two cents. 

19) Who drives and who has the window seat? As wizards/witches, you don’t drive much, but Sirius drives his motorbike. He’s considering adding another sidecar, but for now, one rides in the sidecar while the other rides in the seat behind him. 

20) Who falls asleep in the others lap and who carries them to bed? You hold the title for the sleepiest bitch in the world, so you’re always falling asleep in places that aren’t in the bed. Sirius and James alternate carrying you to bed--yeah, they could use magic, but then they wouldn’t be able to hold you close and hear your little sleepy “thankyoubaby” as they laid you in bed. So they carry you. It’s a win-win. 

21) Who cuts the others hair? You do. You’re the only person alive who Sirius trusts with his hair, though James doesn’t really mind who does his hair most of the time. 

22) Who is super bad at sexting? and who sends them encouraging messages throughout the day? James is horrible at sexting because he just can’t seem to stop himself from making everything into a pun. Sirius is...really, really good at it. Like, disturbingly good. You’re the one who sends the boys messages throughout the day, and you’re really good at knowing when one of them needs an encouraging message and sending them an owl at just the right time. 

23) Who thinks they are not good enough for the others love? and who’s more afraid of loosing the other? Who thinks they keep messing up, only for the other to tell them they don’t need to worry? Sirius is CERTAIN that he isn’t good enough for the two of you, that you and James would be better off without him, that he’s just getting in the way. He gets more and more comfortable with his place in the trio as time goes on, though. James is terrified that he’ll fuck up and lose both of you, and needs constant reassurance, even though he comes off as the most sure. You’re the one who thinks you’re going to mess up, ruin your relationship and friendship, and the boys are always telling you not to worry, that you’re perfect and they love you. All in all, you’re all a bunch of insecure idiots who love each other dearly. 

24) Who starts random slow dancing with the other in the kitchen? Who holds the other just above the ground and kisses them? James. He slow dances with you and plays air guitar with Sirius. Sirius ballroom dances with you both--he’d been trained as a child, and he’s also the one who picks you up and kisses you. You’re usually the one who’s running around and grabbing asses. 

25) Who says shitty puns and sex jokes just to see the other giggle and blush? BOTH of them! You’d think you’d be used to it by now, but you’re not!

26) Who kissed first? Sirius and James kissed first, then Sirius and you, then James and you, and then all three of you. The first time the three of you kissed, soft and slow, James had said: “Shit. Why the hell haven’t we done this sooner?”

27) Who orders take out at two in a morning? and who wakes the other up at three in the morning to go downstairs with them to get a glass of water because it’s too dark? Either of the boys--they’re always hungry. You’re the one who’s waking them up because you heard a noise, or you’re too cold, or you want a drink of water. One of them, usually whoever’s closest to you, will mumble “ok, baby”, take your hand, and take you wherever you need to go. 

28) Who writes poems/stories and love songs about the other? Do they sing the songs the write for them? James writes horrible songs that make you cry from laughing, Sirius writes gorgeous songs that just make you cry, and you walk around the kitchen banging a pot with a spoon while screeching their names over and over. Your house is...not a quiet one. 

29) Who does some crazy stunt to try and impress the other and who ends up driving them to the emergency room after it backfires? James does the stunt, usually with Sirius’s help, and you have to patch them up. 

30) Who is embarrassed when they have to wear their glasses and who thinks they look super cute? Sirius is embarrassed, you and James nearly pass out with how cute he looks.

Alirght. Dusk for the ask. I think I know the answers but well see.

my favorite female character: Kate Fuller - Kate is such an interesting character to me. I think she is very unique, both in how she is written as an individual and how she is worked into the broader themes of the the show. I understand she may not be for everyone, but she works so well for me it’s hard to put into words. Long story short, I really like that she is a genuinely good person who cares about people, and who still does selfish things. And she pays for the mistakes she makes too, she’s not bulletproof because she’s nice and has good intentions, bad things happen to her. She has so much agency in the show, and the choices she makes really matter, not just in what happens to her, but in how it effects everyone else too. She may be a symbol of light and love forgiveness, but she is also so much more than that, she’s a person with flaws too, and her flaws are one of the things I love best about her since it highlights the good in her. I’m not someone who believes people who are without the urge to sin are good people, I think that overcoming your darker nature is what makes you good. And the last season may not feature a lot of Kate as herself, but she is still a huge driving force in how it plays out, both in the impact she had on other people, and who she still is underneath Amaru’s control. Plus her faith in God is one of the more honest and nuanced portrayals of someone with a deep faith I’ve ever seen on tv, so that’s pretty neat.

my favorite male character: Seth Gecko - Seth is the perfect embodiment of his type of character, the asshole with the heart of gold. Because the show really does let him be an asshole! He pokes at people,  he says stuff he knows will piss people off, he can be intimidating and controlling and bullheaded. But he loves deeply, and really does care not just about the people he loves (who are few) but also about people he sees as innocent, as needing protection. His view of right and wrong is screwed up, but it’s there and it’s strong and it motivates him. And as much as he scoffs at the idea of salvation and redemption, his belief that he is himself damned proves the lie there. He feels deeply responsible (which is one sure indicator of if a character is going to be my favorite, I love characters who feel a deep sense of responsibility) and he really does struggle with how to deal with that, and while sometimes he runs or screws up, he ultimate learns and grows and becomes a big hero who is willing to do the selfless thing when it counts.

my favorite book/season/etc: Season 3 - I think season 3 has the strongest episodes, best pacing overall, and the most interesting character setups and payoffs of the show. The first two seasons were good, but I think the show really hit it’s stride in season 3. Sure, there are still some plot holes and missteps, but they are minor. I wish overall they had more episodes so they could do more with some characters but with only 10 episodes I think they really did a great job keeping it moving towards the big finale, and paid off a lot of Dusks main themes in new and interesting ways. The monster of the week format gave us a lot of new cool mythology, and most of character growth felt earned and like a natural progression of what we’d seen so far. Plus, the Western Genre is a favorite of mine, so the two parter at the end was just so delightful to me. 

my favorite episode (if its a tv show) La Llorona - Best monster design, amazing atmosphere, and some really excellent character interactions. Not only do we get the obviously great Seth, Kate and SethKate stuff, but we learn a lot more about who Amaru during the interrogation scene, and see her at her creepiest and most effective as a foil to the characters. Amaru works best for me as a villain for how she corrupts and manipulates people, and we really get to see that first hand this episode. Plus, great Burt backstory, sets up Freddie's arc for the end of the season in a cool way, Richie figuring out how to use his connections to the supernatural to help, and Brandon Soohoo gets some much needed spotlight as Scott gets tortured with his past choices in a very moving way. 

my favorite cast member: DJ Cotrona - A lot of the cast seems really great, and like they really like and respect each other, but DJ does stand out as my fave due to his sense of humor, his intense love of film making and character development and just general geeking out about stuff makes him seem so charming. He just seems like a really neat passionate person, who puts a lot of thought into his performance. Plus, he is real easy on the eyes, which doesn’t hurt lol.

my favorite ship: SethKate - Someday soon I hope to finish my ship history meme, and there will be more on this ship, and why I love it so. The chemistry feels natural, and the ship deals with a lot of my favorite themes to explore in fiction, like: how identity intersects with responsibility, the power of love and forgiveness to effect change in ourselves and others, and how loving someone doesn’t make you right, or bulletproof, but it can make you stronger than you thought was possible, strong enough to do the right thing. When I think of Kate and Seth standing at the gate to Hell and drawing enough strength from each other to do the hard thing, the thing that will cost them the most, and smiling at each other so softly and lovingly. That’s the most freaking romantic thing I can think of, honestly.

a character I’d die defending: Scott Fuller - Scott holds a very special place in my heart, and I think he sometimes gets judged more harshly than he should be. Yes, he does a lot of awful things during the course of the show that result in long lasting damage (or death) to other people, but he also starts out as an angry and lost teenager still figuring out who is he, and then given and extraordinary ability to do damage in a world he is just not prepared for. He tries so hard to find a place to belong, and to define himself. Trusts the wrong people at the wrong times, and makes so many mistakes. He learns a ton of very hard lessons along the way, and while he still has a long road to travel, I really love his journey, and want so badly to see what he does next and the man he becomes.

a character I just can’t sympathize with: Sex Machine - Biggest misstep of the show for me, hands down. And it’s not the actual character  (or the actor, who plays him really well) so much as how the narrative treats him like he’s comic relief. His treatment in season three as just one of the gang just bugs the crap out of me. I get the show is about morally grey characters, but c’mon man. Did they really need his “expert” advice so much that they could overlook that he was actively preying on his students? He was clearly turning them because he wanted to have sex with them, which is so gross. What layers are there to this man beyond predatory blowhard? Ok I’m going to stop there because I’m probably preaching to the choir, but ugh.

a character I grew to love:  Richie Gecko -  Richie is the character that grew on me the most throughout the show. He started as someone who was just so unsettling and disturbing, and by the end I really grew to view him as... not that? It’s hard to describe, because truthfully I don’t think Richie had a lot of character growth throughout the show, and he doesn’t really change so much as my view of him shifts, both as we learn more about who he was before season 1, and why he was so uniquely vulnerable to Kisa’s manipulations. But being a culebra actually does balance him a bit more, since him becoming an actual predator makes his story is less about a human wrestling with a very real darkness inside him, and more someone who has embraced that darkness trying to find his humanity. Plus, Zane plays him so perfectly. My favorite Richie is the horchata loving lighter side of him, the part that loves his brother and wants to be viewed as capable, that wants to prove himself and just isn’t very good with people or small talk or social cues.

my anti otp: Freddie/Ximena - They had some cute stuff, and good chemistry, but the romance felt very rushed to me, and just not needed. And they were so doomed from the start! I appreciate that Ximena knew and even vocalized it, but I would have much rather seen a platonic partnership develop where they were both navigating what a Peacekeeper and a culebra working together would have looked like. So, mark me down as anti there. (I’m answering this with canon ships, but I know there are people who ship Kate/Richie, I am just not one of them. I view an actual romantic relationship between them as out of character, and just not supported by what interactions we did get. I do like the dynamic they have in the show though, and would like to see it explored more if the show ever came back. And Seth/Richie seems like a fringe ship but since it does exist out there that’s also a big nope for me. double for Seth/Kate/Richie as an OT3)

Hiccup/Hiro/Varian OT3 FFXIV Headcanons

Stuck on my next fanfiction update? Time to bust out one of my OT3 headcanon posts again! The next chapter of Chemistry in Motion IS on the way, I promise you. But for the time being I’m a bit braindead - and being obsessed with playing Final Fantasy XIV with my friends isn’t helping. Instead of Variro and Varian & Honey Lemon sibling fluff, my brain has thought, “Okay, but what if the OT3 either played FFXIV or just existed in Eorzea?” and hasn’t stopped. 

So, instead of the Camp Halfbood concepts I was planning on doing next, you get this. 

Let’s start with easy mode: races

This part was simple. The only one that really gave me any trouble was Varian, really. I have certain things I associate each of the boys with - and two of those things just so happen to have races in Final Fantasy, so let’s go!

Hiccup is an Au Ra. They’re half-dragon, all-awesome, and Au Ra males are some of the tallest characters in the game!!! Second only to Roegadyn, I think. So Hiccup is TOL. If this is a concept of an AU where they exist in Eorzea as Warriors of Light - I feel like Hiccup’s the type that seems intimidating at first, the tall half-dragon man - but is actually just a soft cinnamon roll who’s hopelessly in love with his two boyfriends, but we’ll get to that part, eventually.

Hiro is a Mi’qote! Maybe because of Mochi, but I just can’t stop associating him with cats. So, naturally, I’m just going to keep doing it. Mi’qote are a moderate, slightly below-average height race. Also cat ears and tails, and the “mission complete” screen after dungeons has male mi’qote do a little happy ear wriggle, and it’s cute. I feel like Hiccup and Varian play with his ears a lot - like, a lot of scratching behind them or rubbing them for cute, fluffy, affectionate moments. He’s small, sassy, and about to get some world-saving s*** done, okay?

Varian. Varian was difficult. On one end I considered Hyur - just a simple smol human (though you can’t really make Male Hyur that short in-game, closer to average height really). But then I thought maybe Lalafell, make him super smol and cute. But actually, I’m going with my favorite race in the game: Varian’s an Elezen. For two reasons. 1) if this is a matter of them playing the game - Varian’s the type I could see wanting to play a character taller than he is, and Elezen are pretty darn tall. 2) As for if they exist in Eorzea, we’ve seen through the examples of Alphinaud and Alisaie that young Elezen can be quite small!!! Varian with pointy elf ears is also adorable fight me. Anyway. I feel like he’d definitely be a “runt of the litter” Elezen. Taller than Hiro, but still on the short side. Maybe it comes from Ulla (if you include 7k in this) being an Elezen, but Quirin being a Hyur or another shorter race that kind of dwarfs his growth a bit? 

Okay, so let’s talk roles

Note: roles. Not classes. For the FFXIV uninitiated, one of the coolest things about this MMO is that you’re not tied down to one class. There are several classes within certain roles - Healer, Tank, Melee DPS, Ranged DPS, Magical DPS - and you can swap between those classes freely. There’s even disciple of the hand - crafting classes. And disciple of the land - gathering classes. We won’t talk about those as rolls, but I’ll bring them up when I talk about the squad’s main classes later. For now, let’s talk about the roles they prefer for adventuring, dungeons, raids, etc. 

Hiccup is a tank! Tank classes are his first choice, without a doubt. He’s kind of the leader of the squad without meaning to be. He protects Hiro and Varian, and kind of keeps the other two in line and out of trouble with the rest of the party (because these two are SASSY and will cause trouble, trust me), whether it’s only one other person just running a dungeon or a whole raid alliance. In large parties, he’s quick to defer to someone else if they want to be the main tank. He’s not the ‘fighting for dominance’ type. Other than tanking, he enjoys melee DPS and healing, and uses magic DPS the least.

Hiro usually plays ranged DPS! Honestly, his central roles are basically all the DPS roles, but he likes Ranged most because of mobility, and ability to take things out from afar without worrying about his DPS dropping too much from dodging big attacks. Other than that, he enjoys magical DPS for range and Melee for mobility. His least-used role is healing, because caretaker he is NOT. Some of his ranged DPS classes have utility, and that’s good enough for him. 

Then, for a well-rounded team, Varian’s main role is Healer. This comes mostly from his tendency to be “support” in most situations. He is, overall, a sweet boy who wants to look out for and help his friends (even if he can be self-centered). He’s definitely the sassy healer that will get passive aggressive with bad tanks in big parties or if Hiccup isn’t tanking. “I couldn’t keep up. So sorry, I’ll try harder next time if you try harder not to over-extend. Okay, thanks”, “The Dragoon is floor tanking? Guess who’s going back to the start of the dungeon because I’m not ressurecting them”, “Hiro, for the last time. We DODGE attacks first, shoot later. If you get hit for extensive damage because of a dumb mistake again I am NOT healing you”. THAT Healer. He’s also the best technical player of the three though (if this is the ‘they’re just playing the game’ situation), so he has the skill to back up the sass. Also, he flirts with Hiccup whenever he clutch heals him, or whenever Hiccup thanks him for heals, and it breaks Hiccup’s brain. Outside of healing, I think he’d like magical DPS and ranged DPS, and tanks the least.

On to actual classes/jobs now!

So here’s how this is going to work. We’ll be talking about the classes in their primary roles. What’s their main class, and ranking the classes within their main role in order of most to least used. After that, we’ll talk about some outlier classes. Classes from other roles they enjoy playing that they might play often or that I think suit them(A note: we’ll only be going over a couple, and no matter what outliers I mention, the role rankings from the previous section are the priority in knowing what and how they play). Then we’ll talk about their crafting/gathering classes of choice. 

Hiccup

 So, we mostly see Hiccup with a sword and shield, so naturally his main job is Paladin. It was what stuck out in my head, especially since I wanted him to main tank. It’s the balanced, all-rounder tank as well - which I think suits Hiccup. After that, there’s Warrior. Our big, brutal axe swingers. This one’s focused more on his viking heritage. Battle Axes run in that blood, don’t they? Then, there’s Dark Knight. The enormous sword is cool, but Hiccup isn’t really the ‘dark, brooding, edgy’ type. So I don’t think DK would really be his style aesthetically. Gunbreaker is the one he’d use least. It’s a cool class, but the more modern gunblade just doesn’t scream “Hiccup” to me. I think he’d enjoy the damage output, but feels better with normal weapons like swords and axes in his hands. 

So the first outlier for Hiccup is something FFXIV fans might see coming. Dragoon. Hiccup with a spear is cool, but this is mostly for the lore. For those who don’t know - Dragoon’s lore is all about dragon slaying. They’re spearmen trained in Ishgard as part of the Dragonsong war - valiant defender of the city and slayers of dragons. Sound familiar? Similar to his actual story, I love Hiccup picking up the spear and being ready to fight dragons - but he’s a sweet bean and still tries his best to broker a peace when he learns how intelligent dragons are. 

The other outlier I’d like to discuss for Hiccup is White Mage. The ‘taking from the spirits and nature’ vibe I think really suits his personality. He loves his island, and the dragons that live there, and everything around him. Not QUITE a tree hugger or anything, but preserving nature and caring for its creatures would definitely be important to him. It’s probably his main healer role.  

As for crafting and gathering. Blacksmithing and Armorsmithing are probably his central crafts, so he probably does a lot of mining as his gathering class. He spends a lot of time in the forge, after all! I could also see him delving into a little carpentry, what with all the tinkering and mechanics he works with. 

Hiro

When I thought about Hiro, my first thought was “machinist”. The steampunk vibe it has fits Hiro being the most modern of the three boys, I think. Also, a robotic/automaton partner/minion? YES. After that is Dancer. He probably picked it up for a laugh, not expecting much, then wound up hooked. He enjoys making either Hiccup or Varian his dance partner and flirting with whoever it is incessantly. With Varian, it’s just a back-and-forth of witty flirting and laughing. With Hiccup, he actively takes up a two-sided flirting front with Varian and well... if Hiccup breaks with just Varian flirting, adding Hiro makes it worse. He plays Bard the least, but still enjoys it. “He’s not much of a singer”, he often jokes whenever he stretches his Bard muscles. In the ‘they’re just playing the game’ universe, I feel like he forgets his song utility a lot and just focuses on doing as much damage as possible. Because that’s kind of his schtick. 

An outlier for him would be Red Mage. I think he’d like the quick, easy casting with Dualcast, and the fun melee rotation. He’d be the type that enjoys using Displacement just for the flair - and always gets a talking to from Varian whenever he accidentally flips off the edge of a platform. So, you’re not allowed to play Dragoon, Hiro (he plays it anyway).

And the other outlier is Gunbreaker. Again with giving the guns to the more modern member of the squad. However (and I’ve hardly touched my tank  classes so I can’t say anything here), it’s a running joke that Gunbreaker is for “people who want to try tank, but still kind of want to be DPS”, and I love that. It’s kind of perfect for Hiro. 

So for crafting and gathering. Hiro would probably be a Goldsmith and Leatherworker. Leatherworker for practicality - because I think Hiro’s definitely the most practical  of the three. Goldsmith because he likes to tinker with things and I can definitely see the precision work of accessory making suiting him. Now, normally that would probably mean he’d spend most of his time mining - but there are exactly three gathering classes in the game, so I like to think they’d try to round each other out. So, Hiro’s going to spend most of his time fishing. One, because cats and fish jokes. Two, because it’s just kind of chill and less work (or at least labor) and knowing Hiro I could see him going for that.

Varian

Varian’s main class would most DEFINITELY be scholar. He just seems to gravitate toward my favorite things. I think of all the magic-based classes. The arcanist set would be his favorite since it focuses more on logic and strategy. Scholar, especially, deals with hunting down a centuries-old plague on an ancient civilization and a lot of things I can very easily equate to the black rocks and dark kingdom. Also, he gets to summon a fairy and COME ON. That’s adorable. He probably talks to the fairy (usually Eos), because that’s just him. Second main healing class is White Mage, similar to Hiccup. The nature vibe just seems to suit him. He seems good with animals and the whole natural element just works since he seems to enjoy the outdoors and comes from a farming family/village, let’s not forget! Then Astrologian would be last. He wouldn’t really be into the astrology/future sight but I think he would have fun with the star vibes and (in Eorzea universe) would learn the uses of the future reading and get more invested in it, eventually. 

An outlier of mention for Varian is Summoner. I mentioned before that he enjoys arcanima for its focus on logic, strategy, and value of intelligence, so, naturally, Scholar’s opposite would work well with him too. Also the carbuncles make me think of Ruddiger for whatever reason. Look at him! I love the concept of him summoning his carbuncle and it just crawling up his back and wrapping around his shoulders. He summons the Egis too! He knows how to play his job! He just really loves the carbuncles. 

The other outlier for him of special mention is Bard. I think he’d like it, because he can be DPS but still give the party utility. Also. Come on, this boy can SING and he’s going to take advantage of it. God-tier bard for his singing voice alone, right here. Hiccup and Hiro low-key get excited whenever he pulls out the bow, because it means they get to hear their boy sing (because even in the universe where it’s just a game, Varian totally sings on whatever method of call they use for a lot of the dungeon whenever he plays bard). 

Crafting classes. It surprises no one. He’s an Alchemist. Possibly a culinarian. His gathering class is botanist, the only one left. He spends a lot of time with plants, natural elements, and alchemy to make potions and all that jazz. He is very passionate about his crafting job and is probably the biggest crafter of the group. ALCHEMY!

And now for some miscellaneous headcanons

So, if it’s just the OT3 playing the game - Varian is the biggest roleplayer, no question. He slips into character ALL the time and it makes Hiro and Hiccup chuckle a little, but they always play along. He got the two of them to enjoy the roleplaying aspect, even. 

They each have their own squads/groups they play/adventure with, and they almost always change up their roles with those groups. 

For Hiccup - he’s basically in a group full of people who want to be tanks. It’s a constant battle for dominance (that Astrid almost always wins, unless she gives a pity win to Snotlout occasionally or lets Hiccup take out of respect for his tanking ability). Most of the time, Hiccup just shrugs it off and goes DPS or healer depending on if Fishlegs is there to heal or not.

Hiro usually tanks for his team. Mostly because Gogo refuses to level anything but DPS, Wasabi suffers from tanxiety and usually either heals or goes ranged, Honey Lemon does whatever Wasabi isn’t doing, and Fred is... Fred. 

Varian’s group is well-balanced, but they each have their preferences. Cass or Lance are usually the tank, Eugene’s usually a melee DPS (probably ninja), and Rapunzel is almost always the squad healer (tho she defers to Varian for that role occasionally). So he’s usually DPS in that group. 

Still, they work best together in their main roles. Their favorite times are when they’re adventuring together, as much as they love their friends. 

Hiccup and Varian occasionally tease Hiro for being the shortest of the group - to which he usually groans and complains. But they use their tank/healer status to prevent him from messing with them because “I can always turn off my tank stance you know”, or “I mean if you don’t want healing, by all means”. He hates it when they do that.

They usually make up for it by giving him a TON of presents, though. They’re both frugal with gil compared to him, so if there’s some new shiny, expensive thing on the market he wants and doesn’t have the money for, Varian or Hiccup can usually swing it for him.

Hiccup likes to surprise Varian with gifts too. It’s the one one time he can make Varian flustered, and he quite enjoys it. 

If any Elezen bully Varian for being a runt (in the setting where they’re adventurers in Eorzea), they can expect to meet with the business end of Hiccup or Hiro’s weapons. They won’t hesitate.

2018 Letter

Dear potential writer,

*Sigh* 2018 has been a long year, has it not? Yuletide is proving to be a great distraction and I'm very excited to be participating again. Thank you for reading my letter and also thank you in advance for anything you decide to write for me! 

Below are my desired fandoms and pairings along with story ideas that I would love to see written. Please don't feel stifled by my prompts; I've also listed my general likes/dislikes at the very bottom of this letter if you decide to go a different route. 

The Defenders (TV):

Characters: Luke Cage and Jessica Jones

I will admit that my main motivation for watching The Defenders was to see more interactions between these two characters. While I loved all of the scenes between them, I wish they'd had a lot more shared screen time. 

Overall I just want these two kids to end up together. I've been a fan of their relationship before the Netflix shows came out and will continue to be a fan after they have ended.

Story ideas:

Luke and Jessica learning to trust each other again amongst the events of The Defenders, and Jessica sharing a bit more of her past with Kilgrave to help Luke understand what exactly she went through.

Seeing Luke and Jessica's on screen (or imagined off screen) interactions through the eyes of the other characters.

Jessica Jones is a walking poster child for PTSD and I would really like to see this explored more. Recovery isn’t necessary, but having Luke at least realize her suffering and talking/hugging it out would be lovely.

We may or may not be getting a season 2. Feel free to imagine your own post-season 1 with the team, especially focusing on the Jessica/Luke dynamic.

Speed (1994):

Characters: Annie Porter and Jack Traven

I'm a sucker for characters who fall in love during immensely stressful situations. Especially characters played by Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. I'm also a sucker for action movies that have not-quite-believable but really-thrilling-anyway plotlines. Like buses with bombs that go off if driving under 50 mph.

Story ideas:

Regardless of what Jack said at the end of the movie about most relationships formed during stressful circumstances not surviving, I have chosen to believe Annie and Jack would have beaten the odds once again. I'm sure their friends, co-workers, and family would have had their doubts but would have eventually seen that the two were perfect for each other.

I'd adore post-movie slice of life stories where they buy their first place together, meet each others' families for the first time, or even do something as mundane as going to get groceries. It would be so endearingly (and hilariously) normal in contrast to their first meeting.

Annie definitely thought Jack was insane when he flagged down the bus and jumped on. It would be interesting to read that scene from her point of view as well as other scenes throughout the movie as her opinion of him changes.

It would be impossible to go through what these two characters did without it having some sort of impact on their psyche. Whether it be Annie refusing to ride the bus again and Jack offering to drive her to work until/if she recovers, or Jack having flashbacks of the helplessness he felt on that train when he couldn't get Annie unchained.

The Darkest Minds (Book Series):

Character: Ruby Daly

X-Men was my jam when I was younger, and The Darkest Minds is basically X-Men set in a dystopian world with really loveable characters.

Ruby is a precious gem* that needs to be protected at all costs, even if it’s from herself. Liam is such a sweetheart. Book 2 when he gets his memories back had me literally crying. Chubs and Zhu are amazing, and I love the little family the four of them made together. Vida was also really great, and so was Cole… and you get the point. I loved them all.

*Pun not intended but acknowledged nevertheless.

My favorite pairing from the series is Ruby/Liam but sadly Liam is not in the tagset. It would be amazing if you wrote a Ruby/Liam story but if that's not your thing, I'd be equally happy with a gen story focusing on Ruby and Cole, Ruby and Chubs, Ruby and Vida, etc. Chubs/Vida in the background would be even more wonderful!

Story ideas:

Ruby definitely struggled with her abilities and had healthy/unhealthy coping mechanisms. Expanding on this would be great and including any of the other characters' responses to her coping mechanisms would be a definite plus.

Reunions are the best. Write how you would have liked the Liam and Ruby reunion in book 2 to have played out or expand on canon to bring on even more feels. Again, I fully realize that Liam is not in the tagset so don't feel pressured to include him. Instead write about a reunion between Ruby and one of the other main characters (like Chubs)!

I wish there were more scenes exploring the dynamics of Cole and Ruby's friendship and how that impacts their respective relationships with Liam, especially because Cole and Ruby relate on a level that I don't think Liam ever quite understood. One of my favorite parts from the whole series is the scene in the shower where Cole is basically interrogating Ruby for information about Liam. It's a totally non-romantic scene but very emotionally charged and it would be really interesting to read about it from Cole's point of view.

Impluse (TV):

Characters: Henrietta "Henry" Coles, Lucas Boone, Jenna Hope, Townes Linderman

This show became a surprise favorite of mine in 2018, mostly because it's on YouTube Red and I haven't given most of their original shows much thought. Also because it tackles rape and recovery in such a raw and interesting, especially in the context of a sci-fi show.

I just need more Henry Coles. If you want to do a romantic relationship I'd prefer seeing something explored with Lucas Boone or her canon love interest Josh (who was only in 2 episodes but really seemed to "get" Henry). Otherwise, gen stories between Henry and any/all of the tagset characters would be great.

Story Ideas:

Henry will never be fully "recovered" in the sense that one can never truly recover from rape. It will always have an impact on her life. The other characters get that and try to help her in any way they can.

While Lucas is aware of what his brother did to Henry, he has no idea of the real impact. I'd love a story where he learns more about her seizures and the way her anxiety/fears manifest themselves as teleportation.

Hurt/comfort in all forms because Henry has been hurt enough for a lifetime, but she could do with a whole lot more comfort. Either within the confines of season 1 or imagined opportunities for comfort in season 2.

We get the story from mostly Henry's perspective, but I'm sure there is a lot going on in the minds of Lucas, Jenna and/or Townes as the events of season 1 play out.

The Folk of the Air

Pairing: Cardan Greenbriar/Jude Duarte

Holly Black is an evil genius and I bow down to her greatness. Starting off the first book in this series, I never would have imagined that by the end I'd be rooting for Jude and Cardan to be together but here we are.

They are the ultimate enemies-to-lovers and I can't wait to see what happens to them in the second book coming in 2019.

Story ideas:

Maybe I'm being unrealistically optimistic, but despite Jude's betrayal at the end of the first book, I think these two can work it out. Perhaps Jude helps Cardan cope with the stresses of being king and he is able to move past what she did. Or maybe he sees how impossible Jude thought the situation was and comes to the realization that he was the only one she trusted to do it.

Madoc is a horrible father. Jude basically knows this from the beginning. Still, she was genuinely upset in discovering what he had done. I'd love to see her finally release all of that pent up anger - either her using Cardan as a sounding board for her rants or even having her completely breakdown under all of the stress and him comforting her.

We get the perspective of Jude throughout the entire book, but I would really enjoy seeing some of the scenes from Cardan's point of view as his feelings for Jude change.

There is no way that Jude's sister, Vivienne, wouldn't be alarmed when finding out that Jude and Cardan kissed. Jude having to explain her changed feelings for Cardan and Vivienne realizing that Jude is in like/love would be hilarious and heartwarming.

Things I don’t like:

Alternate Universes – For the specific fandoms that I picked, I really like the universes as they are. I’m definitely okay with deviations from canon, but please don’t make Speed into a supernatural werewolf story or the fantasy/sci-fi canons take place in a mundane coffee shop setting. (I don’t mind Soulmate AUs or something similar because those can be incorporated into canon with little change to worldbuilding).

Non-Con/Rape/BDSM/Sexual Violence/Graphic Sex – I like my characters to be happy and everything within ships to be 100% consensual, no question about it (mentions of non-con if it occurred in canon is fine). I also prefer plot over porn, especially with one-shots.

OT3s – Two people per romantic relationship please. Any more than that makes me uncomfortable.

Character Bashing - Unless a character is a bad guy in canon, I don’t want to read hundreds of words about how awful they are, especially if they are one of the characters that I requested. Don’t take it out on the characters if you hate my pairings, just write gen. 

Things I love:

Hurt/Comfort – There is nothing I love more than one character comforting another. The hurt can be physical, psychological, or both.  

Happy Endings – I’m all for the realistic endings… but if they could be plausible AND happy-ish, that would be amazing.

Expanded Scenes/Contorting Canon – Feel free to expand scenes and change up canon to your heart’s content as long as it makes logical sense.

Humor/Banter/Snark – I thrive on this stuff.

Bonding/Building Relationships – Whether it be a friendship or a romantic relationship, I adore reading about two people growing closer together. When characters know each other so well that they can have conversations with just their eyes or anticipate the person’s next move (especially if it’s to the surprise/confusion of everyone around them), my shipper heart is thrilled.

Dark to Light – Seeing a character come out of a bad mindset/situation and get better is so satisfying.

There's no such thing as completely "unproblematic" celebrities, at least not in this band. Harry waved the Israeli hammer in the middle of Israel bombing Palestine, Louis said the n word in that leaked video, Liam said the word "gh*tto", said that the majority of 1D fanbase which are girls couldn't understand Girl Almighty because we don't know what it is to fell in love with a girl ( my gay ass beg to differ ) and never deletes his "haters you should kill yourself, ha" tweet, Niall made a sexist joke on National TV, Zayn defended his girlfriend's racist behavior because she's dating him so she couldn't be racist to Asians ( even though China banned Gigi's racist ass out of their country for that vid ) and went off on his fans, refused to educate himself because he's poc and was treated with racism before so he doesn't needs to know how other races feel.

End line is: all of the boys messed up, just like you or me. You can't point at anyone as the only devil without acknowledging your fave's problems. If you're gonna play your card, i'm gonna play mine, just like that and this petty stan war will never end. But people make mistakes because they're human, not because they're trash. All of them deserve a chance to learn and improve themselves. I love Zayn's voice and how he stands for what he believes. I'm thankful for all the time Liam protected his fans and 1D, he's a kind soul who's definitely deserves better. Niall's like a little brother to me, he's everyone friend and my safe place when the fandom is out of hands. Louis went through hell and back to tell his audience when everything goes wrong, just hold on and keeps fighting, he writes music from his heart, his own experience and i love him for it. Even Harry, i dislike how manipulating he is and the way he stayed silent when ot3 carried the 18 months hiatus then signed a 3 albums contract or his gross album. But i still remember a very sweet Harry in the beginning of 1D, that innocent child in the 1D pregnant prank or the kid who woke up at 2am to get out of the tour bus and took pictures with fans.

I highly believe a person should be judged for what they did, not what they didn't. And none of the boys bullied each others for Pete's sake. They all made mistakes, but they also did things that make people their fans. And it's up to your decision wether they're worth supporting or not, your opinion doesn't matters more than others. I swear if this fandom just understand that concept and let the boys live as their own people instead of pointing fingers and call the other names just to lift up their faves, more than a half of the problems in this fandom will disappear

At his core, he loves wants his family intact and safe - wants to be loved.

He has a code - a very twisted one, but it’s more than one can say for most - of honor. That is to say, he asks for the very best from his men (Kreel, whom he even trains and sort of implores to carry on the legacy of the Jedi) and rewards merit (Piett) and sacrifice (Trios) regardless of gender (his female aide in Purge) or species (bounty hunters), if only so long as it is in his own interest to do so and without ever taking steps to change the status quo. Genuine or even grudging respect leads to some of his strangest comments (Kenobi was a teacher, if a failed one) and actions (the first time he tries to kill Aphra, he asks her to hold still - as though this would make asphyxiation less painful; what’s especially notable in this instance is that he doesn’t go for the death she fears most). On a related note, he seems to respect opponents who value dedication and sacrifice and (perhaps even in a certain way connected to his Force religion) life, who in effect share his honor code and/or zealotry - most prominently Leia.

There’s a reason he’s more effective than any other villain in the OT, and I think it’s this – he has empathy with his victims. Instead of destroying Leia’s mind, he chooses to understand her - it is Vader, not Tarkin, who pieces together that Leia will only ever reveal the base by going “home”. He understands Luke less well but is still able to lure him to Bespin - once again, I tend to think, because he understands Leia well enough to know how to make her broadcast pain.

This is not exactly a quality, rather a skill, but he is very good at manipulating the arrogance of others, at hiding in plain sight, at subverting expectations. As a slave it seems he learned the value of knowing as much as his master and more and also of hiding how much he knew - and so he is a master at appearing dumber than he is and showing his hand only through clipped sarcasm and/or during the sudden finishing blow. For what it’s worth, this lifelong strategy of never quite being what he seems - of allowing himself to be underestimated - makes it possible for him to get the jump on Palpatine.

Dedication. By his own admission, he’s a slow learner, but if he recognizes the need to learn something my sense is that he becomes obsessively focused on mastering it. This is speculation based on how much of a planner he is in both ANH and ESB. Perhaps he plans as a result of the hard lesson learned from being slower and more ungainly than he once was, but perhaps this tendency also reflects his need for control and absolute mastery of knowledge or a situation.

3 bad qualities: selfishness, which also covers his confusion of possessive and compassionate love and his gigantic, nearly unconquerable ego and his grudge-keeping; stubbornness, since once he convinces himself he is right about something he is never going to be totally unconvinced and since it works into his repressive complexes; MURDER

favourite episode/etc: easily ESB. I’ve talked about this before and perhaps too often so I’ll keep this short: the camera work and lighting is phenomenal (he dominates the camera bewitches it plunges the screen into darkness; he also owns the creepiest scene, the shot exposing his scarred head), plus we get to see him at his worst, at his most ruthless and possessive and malicious and clever.

otp: vader/pain. seriously, though, I have trouble imagining any sort of non-gen relationship with him - trouble imagining him wanting it (black swan theory: the suit and the extent of his burns and his guilt over Padmé and his utter devotion to the Force - he’s very Jedi as a Sith, almost completely unattached except to Palpatine). Also hard for me to imagine anyone wanting or, better: succeeding in getting close enough. Aphra makes for an interesting exception in that regard - she enters his life at a stage when, thanks to Luke, the rules are changing for him; she loves to live dangerously and to reanimate dangerous things, to put them into circulation once more; she seems to see him not as some man with power but as a living relic-weapon/extraordinarily volatile and powerful and scary object, which is arguably precisely how he wants to be seen (as Vader as mask not as that weakling); they have certain shared interests - fetishes - even beyond droids and weapons, if one recalls how he used to crave fast speeders and dangerous stunts; plus she’s smart enough to recognize a ticking time bomb, to not expect a future. But even here, I admit that I can’t imagine him letting anyone that close except to kill them until a post-ROTJ situation

brotp: if one can find a way to convince him not to kill them, Ahsoka and Aphra both make for wonderful foils, not least because both can find ways to unsettle him with their respective forms of honesty, because both know how to find and create the windows through which he can be reached. I have particular love for Ahsoka - Anakin loved her and she loved him, and that’s not something either can just forget, plus she’s got a sharp eye for his bullshit and an equally sharp tongue and can actually defend herself (whereas Aphra would have to escape) if he lashes out. She’s surpassed her teacher in many ways, and even if he can’t admit it, there’s pride to be felt (something of his old self to be loved) and lessons to be learned there.

ot3: if I can make this about gen, then let me say that I especially adore the particular gen combo of vader + leia + character growth that you, dear @chancecraz, have mastered

head canon: he’ll never be free of the suit, at least not entirely. There’s an idea I like from old canon, I think it was that he was given an opportunity to upgrade the suit shortly before ANH, but decided against it because it would have involved shutting down his life support and have potentially killed him. In my head, he’ll always have a panel in his chest and tubes in his throat, even if he can ultimately reach a state where he doesn’t need a full or even partial mask. There’s also a psychological aspect to this fantasy of mine — I don’t think he would ever be able to give up some of the advantages the suit offered. Anonymity, the unreadable surface that let him subvert expectations so well (and spared him from having to emote or be seen as a burn victim), etc. For many reasons, I also think it would take quite a bit of work on Luke’s part to make Vader adopt Jedi robes again, to so completely negate the suit and his history by returning to that heroic role. The mental image I have of a post-ROTJ Vader thus tends to cover his face in sun-protective turbans and scarves and sight-enhancing goggles (to look, in other words, much like Rey in her establishing shots) and to adopt a dress similar to what he wore as a boy on Tatooine — a combo that offers even greater anonymity than the suit, that lets him blend into masses, that marks his choice to free himself from slavery but also as one who once was a slave, that keeps him from ever having to look anyone straight in the eye and silently lets him make his point to his children that no, he does not want his scars removed, no, he is never going to be Anakin Skywalker the Jedi the Hero With No Fear who btw was a Weakling and Never Should Have Existed —while still acknowledging that there are ways to be Anakin Skywalker, ways perhaps the Sith and Jedi made him repress, he can now invent or reclaim.
