if you're in the mood for a romance movie

1. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: it's as old as me and still running in a theatre after all these years. it's literally that movie. the biggest reason he's called the king of romance and there wasn't even a kissing scene in this. hasn't aged. beautiful soundtrack. and the infamous mustard field

2. My Name is Khan: 14th feb 2010, 3pm show in a single screen theatre and i had the time of my life watching my first srk movie in "talkies". i was so happy i was gonna cry finally in a theatre and wept i did. he was so fucking good in this kajol's comeback directed by karan johar. lots of tears. and some more. 9/11 background but it's a love story still. he should have won the national award and that jury will end up in hell someday :)

3. Veer-Zaara: romeo and juliet's tragedy is nothing compared to veer-zaara's. the songs the music the acting the actors the director the writer everything was just so good. a lot of people don't know this but eye acting was actually invented by shah rukh khan

4. Dil to Pagal Hai: a musical about a musical the soundtrack slayyyyed then it slayyyys now. underrated on current tumblr but i think i am starting to prefer that because DTPH is mine. i never had a crush on shahrukh but if any character of his ever came close it was from this movie. one of his sexiest characters imo. did i mention the songs were way too good.

5. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: shahrukh really cries like children do. who knew weeping can have range. great songs great cast. kajol in orange. srk in see-through shirts. it's actually a family drama but it's fun also his mother in the movie has a superpower.

6. Om Shanti Om: no bollywood movie has ever bollywooded the way OSO did. love friendship reincarnation hero heroine villain nepotism revenge action comedy great music (and one more thing but that's a huge spoiler) it really just had everything. one of the finest masala movies ever made. it's tumblr's favourite as it should be. also this movie is how i learnt san francisco rhymes with disco

7. Baazigar: the directors were having trouble finding the lead actor because nobody wanted to take the risk then srk told the producer that nobody can play this role as good as he can and he became the first actor in the history of filmfare to win the best actor award after playing a negative role. a cult classic.

8. Darr: it's the 90s it's the hero heroine villain era when the audiences think the people who play villains are bad people irl and dislike them. sunny deol an already established "hero" is the hero of the movie and srk is the villain a scary stalker and what happened was that the audiences really loved him instead. (my sister got scared of him enough that she started crying in the theatre and my parents had to leave mid-movie a wuss). something that couldn't have been achieved by just anyone except the future king of bollywood. oh lots of switzerland. also the legendary director of the movie kinda adopted srk and started casting him in every movie of his afterwards.

9. Fan: about an obsessed fan (not me just tbc). underrated af.

11. Main Hoon Na: a cool srk entry. action comedy friendships a whole college adopting a grown up as their big bro beautiful sarees the best dressed character who then got a make-over 🥲 (the only one flaw of the movie) a villain (which was getting rare in the 2000s) the best ending credits ever and whatnot. it was farah khan's directorial debut and she brought fun back to bollywood with her bestie <3

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa: i was younger than 4 srk wasn't my favourite "hero" yet but his character from this movie was my first blorbo. my murderous rage awakened for him. the first character i ever related to was also from this movie. gangster uncle 🤜🏾🤛🏾 me. srk was so baby (he was like 28) there was also ra ra rasputin in this. srk loves this movie so do i.

Reseña: El oso y el Ruiseñor

(Con semi spoilers)

Parte uno de la saga Winternight. Llegue a ella gracias a @cupsandthoughts que compartió en su canal la edición hermosísima de Fairyloot (que me moriría por conseguir). Leí la sinopsis y me atrapó de inmediato (porque siempre débil por la cultura rusa).

Realmente disfrute de la lectura de este libro: tiene un excelente ritmo (a mi parecer) con la creación del mundo/contexto.

Co que no es para cualquiera porque es bastante tranquilo, es decir, no esperen grandes escenas super cargadas de emociones constantemente, pero creo que es parte de lo lindo de esta entrega: construye el mundo, los personajes y una aventura que se desarrolla a lo largo de las 3 publicaciones.

Vasia, la protagonista, me gustó mucho, cosa que no suele pasar. Disfrute verla crecer y convertirse en la joven mujer que guiará la historia.

De mis elementos favoritos tengo que mencionar las criaturas con las que Vania se comunica porque me recordaron a mi infancia. De lo más lindo de la entrega. Bueno, junto con Morozoko, por supuesto 🤫 (que me hace acordar a Loki, por momentos xD)

Konstantine sos horrible, Anna vos también.

Ambientada en un paraje helado de la Rusia medieval, en una época en la que el cristianismo ortodoxo intenta acabar con toda creencia de los espíritus y criaturas mitológicas, el oso y el ruiseñor teje un tapiz irresistible en el que se entrelazan la magia de los cuentos de hadas y el temor a lo desconocido.

En la estepa rusa, el invierno dura casi todo el año y los montículos de nieve son más altos que las casas.

En cuanto el padre de Vasia regresa de Moscú con una nueva esposa muy devota, las cosas cambian. La mujer ve demonios invisibles a ojos de todos, excepto de Vasia. Estos en realidad son espíritus, y mientras los aldeanos sigan haciéndoles ofrendas, no pasará nada malo.

Pero un despiadado invierno, cuando las ventiscas cubren las casas de escarcha y el miedo se cuela por las cerraduras, las ofrendas dejan de llegar.

Kanato Sakamaki (逆巻 カナト, Sakamaki Kanato) es el cuarto hijo de la familia Sakamaki. Él junto con Ayato y Laito, los trillizos, son hijos de Cordelia; hija del Señor de los Demonios y la primera esposa de Karlheinz, el Rey Vampiro.

Kanato tiende a llorar a menudo y se enfada cuando no consigue lo que quiere. Se podría decir que tiene una personalidad como la de un niño pequeño y mimado. Él siempre está exigiendo algo y lo quiere de inmediato, y cuando no lo consigue, su actitud cambia a una malévola.

Aparte de eso, se siente muy unido a Yui. A Kanato le encanta comer dulces, especialmente pasteles; ésto puede explicar también el hecho de porque le gusta tomar tanto la sangre de Yui ya que se refieren a ella como que es 'muy dulce'. Él no va a ningún lado sin llevar su precioso Teddy, incluso habla con él como si estuviera vivo. Habla de forma cortés pero es abusivo y sádico.

La personalidad aniñada y distorsionada de Kanato se debe a que, al igual que sus hermanos; Ayato y Laito, no fue criado con el amor con el que se debe criar a un niño. Algo que lo dejó muy marcado fueron los descuidos de su madre Cordelia y el hecho de que incluso ella tuvo relaciones sexuales con Richter en frente de él. Por ésta razón, ya que Kanato no tenía a nadie, jugaba sólo con sus muñecos y le tomó un especial cariño a uno de ellos; su Teddy.

Con este resentimiento, Kanato desarrolló un amor enfermizo a Cordelia que consistía en la idea de que sólo su amor era para él y que sólo él la podía tener; nadie más. Cuando Kanato encontró el cadáver de Cordelia, lo quemó; recogió todas las cenizas y las puso dentro de su oso para así satisfacer su deseo de que Cordelia le perteneciera.

El sadismo, es una parafilia sexual la cual consiste en sentir placer al infligir dolor y sufrimiento a otros.

Ni siquiera es necesario dar explicación, TODOS LOS MALDITOS DIABOYS CUENTAN CON ESTÁ CARACTERÍSTICA, y desde mi punto de vista Kanatin a mostrado más conductas agresivas en contra de Yui, aunque Carla y Shin lo superan por completo.

𒆨 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐒 ���𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐋𝐎́𝐆𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐒

Este trastorno se caracteriza por la desconfianza hacia la otra persona y los pensamientos obsesivos sobre una posible infidelidad.

En este caso, creo que: Kanato desconfía a grados preocupantes de la protagonista por la infancia qué él vivió, ver como su madre estaba con varios hombres y ser parte de los actos sexuales de la misma, desarrollo una visión tipo "todas son iguales", no estoy segura denme su opinión 🤔

𒆨𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐋𝐄𝐉𝐎 𝐃𝐄 𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐏𝐓𝐎

Este complejo se refiere a la existencia simultánea de sentimientos amorosos del niño hacia su madre por lo usual llegan a desarrollar una "rivalidad" hacia cualquier varón qué compita por el amor de su madre, en la mayoría de casos es el padre.

En lo que investigaba más a fondo sobre este complejo me topé con algunas de las características y conductas qué toman los infantes en esos casos:

—En el primero leí que: este complejo es común entre niños de 3-6 años, sin dejar ninguna consecuencia a largo plazo.

—Los niños que padecen esto por lo usual: se muestran sumamente cariñosos con sus madres, llegan a regalarles cosas (hechas por ellos mismos)

—Tratan de complacerla en todo lo que ella les pide, así como Kanato lo hacía cuando Cordelia le pedía que cantará para él.

—Sienten un "odio" hacia su rival, en este caso Ritcher (pero todos odiamos a este simp de mierda 🤔)

—Hay casos en los que llega a durar hasta la etapa adulta. Aquí es donde llego: Kanato al encontrar a su madre muerta la incinero para guardar sus cenizas y hacer que ella "le perteneciera a él".

𒆨 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐎 𝐁𝐈𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐑

El trastorno bipolar, antes denominado «depresión maníaca», es una enfermedad mental que causa cambios extremos en el estado de ánimo que comprenden altos emocionales (manía o hipomanía) y bajos emocionales (depresión).

Los cambios de humor del Sakamaki son demasiado bruscos y aterradores, suele alterarse de forma espontanea y se pone a llorar de la nada. En la vida real, las personas que padecen este trastorno tienen síntomas y conductas como:

✔️Sensación exagerada de energía.

✔️Poca necesidad de dormir.

✔️Poco control del temperamento.

✔️Estado de ánimo muy irritado, pensamientos apresurados, hablar mucho y tener creencias falsas

✔️Preocupación acerca de cosas que no son ciertas (delirios).

Entre otras, pero solo mencionó están porque a mi criterio describen algunas características de Kanato-kun.

𒆨 𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐀

La necrofilia es cuando una persona consigue excitación o atracción sexual hacía los cadáveres.

Esta conducta es muy evidente en Kanato (pero solamente en HDB), ya que, en varias ocasiones él mencionó que Yui se vería más hermosa si no tuviera vida y que le gustaban los cuerpos fríos, y de hecho en el final malo de Haunted Dark Bridal (asesina Yui y la convierte en su muñeca de cera más preciada, transfiriendo su alma Teddy dos xd)

𒆨 𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐒

La psicosis se refiere a un conjunto de síntomas que afectan la mente y que hacen que se pierda cierto contacto con la realidad.

Una persona con psicosis puede presentar alguno de los siguientes problemas: Desorganización en el pensamiento y el habla. Creencias falsas que no están basadas en la realidad (delirios), especialmente miedos o sospechas infundadas. Ver, escuchar o sentir cosas que no existen (alucinaciones)

Decidí meter esta enfermedad, porque, Kanato en varios escenarios llega a comentar cosas sin sentido y desconcertantes, por ejemplo: él piensa que todos lo odian, qué están planeando un ataque o quieren acabar con él, e incluso de la nada comenta y/o reclama qué Yui lo odia, lo está traicionado, qué habla a sus espaldas e incluso qué ella le está siendo infiel y cuando ni siquiera Komori esté haciendo el vampiro le reclama.

𒆨𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐀

La psicopatía es un trastorno mental ordinario que se caracteriza por rasgos de la personalidad entre los que se incluyen la reducción de la empatía y el remordimiento, la personalidad rotunda y desafiante y la dificultad de inhibir comportamientos.

Las personas con psicopatía pueden engañar, manipular, explotar, amenazar, robar o dañar físicamente a otros a la vez que pueden parecer amigables y bien adaptadas de forma superficial. Esta “máscara de la cordura”, según se describe en la cita anterior, puede hacer que sea difícil identificar a las personas con psicopatía.

Los dos párrafos anteriores ya dijeron todo. Creo que no es necesario hablar más.

El Síndrome de Lima es un término psicológico que se refiere a la empatía y el enamoramiento del captor con la víctima.

Al principio de su ruta y del anime, Kanato en un principio de interesó en Yui para volverla su juguete con la cual podría "jugar" ¬¬ pero como pasa el tiempo, él comienza a sentir afecto y cariño hacia ella, queriéndola poseer y hacer que sea suya, si bien, está enamorado de Yui no deja de ser abusivo a menos de que ella quede tan mal psicológicamente porque así, el Sakamaki ya ha logrado su objetivo: romperla.

Pero considero que esto es más exageración mía.

A lo largo de sus primeras rutas Kanato se muestra muy agresivo, tóxico y posesivo con Yui, amenazándola, manipulándola, golpeándola, violarla, e incluso llegando a matarla en los finales de su ruta.

Yo describiría esta estos dos como un ship tóxico.

La mera verdad, este psicópata kawaii me da más miedo que otra cosa. Esta todo trastornado y mal de su cabeza, pobrecito 🥺, su diseño es Super hermoso y la paleta de colores morados es lindo y su seiyuu, Dios mio, amo a su seiyuu realmente AMO!! ADORO!! El trabajo e interpretación qué hizo con el personaje, cada grito, susurro gemidos es perfecto!!

Ay guey, disculpen el favoritismo a Kaji Yuki... Volviendo con Kanato...

Daré como conclusión: Kanato es uno de los personajes más retorcidos en toda la franquicia de DL, todo lo que él hace da miedo en todos los sentidos. Al igual que Laito, este niño, requiere de ayuda especializada para sanar esas heridas y pensamientos. No importa cuan lindo sea, él no puede cambiar (ya que su caso esta igual o peor que el de su hermano Laito) porque al largo de todos juegos, al igual que los otros personajes Kanato llega a tener una evolución muy peculiar así como lo he notado en otros personajes.

Aun así su historia me duele mucho y me da una razón más para odiar a Cordelia.

Y así me atrevo a decir que, su ruta es una de mis favoritas y es un personaje que me gusta mucho, no por el romance, ni verga, si no por el desarrollo qué lleva, mostrándonos qué las apariencias engañan y lo horrible que puede llegar a ser una relación, ya ni modo esto es Diabolik Lovers, las relaciones normales ni de pedo existen🤷🏼‍♀️(o al menos hasta Dark Fate donde siento que todos los Sakamaki y Mukami hacen un cambio positivo en su persona)

En este análisis quería incluir otros problemas como el infantilismo mental y dar más observaciones pero creo que esas cosas ya son algo más rebuscado.

También aclaró: la psicosis puede estar relacionada con el trastorno bipolar y la esquizofrenia.

I do like how many of the demons teach "liberal sciences". Hell must be a very erudite place. Turning people into stuff is certainly a neat power. Ose is the demon you want to call for TF shenanigans, evidently. Also, manifesting as a leopard and then turning into a man? You're saying this is some sorta catboy demon?

As far as the seal goes, it looks like a circuit diagram. We have two inductors connected in parallel and then... yeah, OK, I'm not sure what the other stuff would be. The bottom has a bit that's kinda like the antenna symbol. Not really sure what the like, cross-shaped bits would be! Even so, I like it because electric circuits and demonic sigils are of like nature, I feel.

STOLAS, OR STOLOS.--The Thirty-sixth Spirit is Stolas, or Stolos. He is a Great and Powerful Prince, appearing in the Shape of a Mighty Raven at first before the Exorcist; but after he taketh the image of a Man. He teacheth the Art of Astronomy, and the Virtues of Herbs and Precious Stones. He governeth 26 Legions of Spirits; and his Seal is this, which is, etc.

Last one was a president, this one's a prince. I definitely have a soft spot for avians. I absolutely love this illustration of Stolas from the 19th-century Dictionnaire Infernal:

Look at him! What a cutie. 'Owl with long legs' is an inspired design.

As far as the sigil goes, this one's kind of a mess. No real symmetry to it, and the elements feel a bit haphazard. In a sense though that kind of works in its favour, lending it an inscrutable air.

This guy got made into a Hazbin Hotel character, so if you search him on google just about every picture is the Vivziepop version.

DECARABIA.--The Sixty-ninth Spirit is Decarabia. He appeareth in the Form of a Star in a Pentacle, at first; but after, at the command of the Exorcist, he putteth on the image of a Man. His Office is to discover the Virtues of Birds and Precious Stones, and to make the Similitude of all kinds of Birds to fly before the Exorcist, singing and drinking as natural Birds do. He governeth 30 Legions of Spirits, being himself a Great Marquis. And this is his Seal, which is to be worn, etc.

Sixty-ninth spirit, nice.

Forming as a pentacle is like... lol sure ok your fursona's a star? Come on dude. But I gotta say, I was won around by his powers. Discovering the virtues of birds and precious stones? I'd love to know about the virtues of birds! That's great! And conjuring illusory birds is also extremely good.

So I love this guy. You phone him up to get bird facts, complete with illustrations. That's so autismcore. Really good.

I couldn't find any illustrations of Ose or Decarabia.

For my part... I'm certainly fond of Ronove because [umineko spoilers]. The Lesser Key is pretty light on detail...

RONOVÉ.--The Twenty-seventh Spirit is Ronové. He appeareth in the Form of a Monster. He teacheth the Art of Rhetoric very well and giveth Good Servants, Knowledge of Tongues, and Favours with Friends or Foes. He is a Marquis and Great Earl; and there be under his command 19 Legions of Spirits. His Seal is this, etc.

...but I think it's cool that his sigil looks like a crazy musical instrument, and he did get a great illustration:

I'll also throw a shoutout to Furfur, mostly because of Heaven Pegasus's song that forms the opening to @xrafstar's and rook's amazing Sticky Zeitgeist series. Let me pull the description:

FURFUR.--The Thirty-fourth Spirit is Furfur. He is a Great and Mighty Earl, appearing in the Form of an Hart with a Fiery Tail. He never speaketh truth unless he be compelled, or brought up within a triangle, △. Being therein, he will take upon himself the Form of an Angel. Being bidden, he speaketh with a hoarse voice. Also he will wittingly urge Love between Man and Woman. He can raise Lightnings and Thunders, Blasts, and Great Tempestuous Storms. And he giveth True Answers both of Things Secret and Divine, if commanded. He ruleth over 26 Legions of Spirits. And his Seal is this, etc.

This is a pretty good blurb. A lot of these descriptions are pretty formulaic, so I like that this one has cute details like 'you gotta use a triangle or he'll lie to you'.

One thing that's kinda funky - and I'm not sure whether it should be blamed on the original authors of the Lesser Key or on Crowley - is that with all the demons said to inspire romantic feelings, it takes some pains to specify 'between men and women' and other sort of explicitly hetero framings! Cowardly, tbh. What's the point of being a wizard if you're not going to be gay?

Furfur's seal has these funky little spirals, which is a pretty rare design element! Elf shit. The bilateral symmetry is neat.

minor maoichi fanfic spoilers under cut

ok ok ok ok ok so im FINALLY writing mao REALLY hanging out with the boys... like... YES they all hung out kinda at the halloween party, and after the fact, but now... well this next chapter is essentially mao and the boys... like, they all hang out in an izakaya and im working a bit more on their relationships, like... exploring more of how mao interacts with each brother...

nnow im having the most problems with choro... like... i try to use one or two words to describe how the boys typically act in canon to keep everything in line, like... here for example

oso: cheeky and boisterous kara: suave (in a silly way) ichi: is just ichi i can write him fine already jyushi: silly todo: bitch

but choro... neurotic? or... uh ... like... agh choro is such a mystery to me ... i dont think about him all that much and need to change that....

ANYWAY this chapter i will do my fucking best... im just so scared cause this is uncharted territory... like... we have seen the boys supportive and not to their brothers pursuit of romance, but to be around a brother AND successful partner.... unheard of... how do i write these fuckers in character... if theres no IN CHARACTER thing to relate them to with a situation like this... its all speculation... so sure i can do what i want.... but theres a difference between doing what i want, and doing what i want and keeping the charcters as close to canon as possible...
