Oscar Piastri is ahead of most people his age when it comes to soulmates

Viv's AUgust Event

Lando Norris didn't have a soulmate. Well, no, he just hadn't met them yet. But this was incredibly common amongst Formula One drivers. Carlos hadn't met his soulmate yet, Yuki and Fernando hadn't met there's.

There were some drivers that had. Checo and his wife were soulmates, written in the stars to be together (even if Checo did the nasty with somebody else). Nico and Kevin had found their soulmates and so had Charles and Pierre.

Lando Norris hadn't and he was enjoying it. There was no pressure to find his soulmate.

When he and Carlos were teammates, they were two single, soulmate-less men, enjoying their time together. When he and Daniel were soulmates, it was much the same story.

But then his rookie teammate came along.

Oscar Piastri was hot shit, Lando knew. He was quick, a fierce competitor. When Lando first met Oscar, he found out what kind of teammate he was going to be off track. Kind and wholesome. Plus, this kid was too young to have found his soulmate (it's easy to forget he's not that much younger than Lando).

He was easy to get on with, Lando found out. Plus, he never mentioned a soulmate, never made him feel shitty for not finding his and just having fun.

No, Lando Norris rather liked his new teammate.

For the first couple of races she watched from the sofa at home. They were a hard watch, the team struggling, her soulmate not able to finish his first race. She knew how he must have been feeling, couldn't wait to have him home to comfort him.

As soon as the European leg of the Formula One season started, she had made a promise to be there. To watch it as he zipped around the track. The McLaren was still terrible, but there were steady improvements.

Even at the races, she hadn't yet met her soulmates teammate. She knew about Lando Norris, knew that Oscar was a fan of his. She knew he was quick, a future world champion, just like Oscar.

She'd attended several races, but hadn't yet been in the garage. She was Oscar's little secret, and that was the way he wanted to keep it. But he also wanted her there, wishing him good luck before he climbed into the car, watching as he pulled out of the garage.

Silverstone. It was the perfect time to meet Lando Norris. Oscar was treating it as a technical home race, since they lived there, and it was a home race for the team. She figured it was the perfect time to make her debut in the garage.

"C'mon, Osc," she said as she moved her fingers up and down his arm, tickling him slightly. "You spend so much time with him, it's only right I get to meet him."

He kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer. "If you really wanna meet him, you can," he said and rested his head on top of hers. His eyes closed and he took a moment to be close to her. He loved it, his heart felt full when she was close to him.

Lando Norris had never had a conversation with Oscar Piastri. He wrongfully assumed that Oscar didn't have a soulmate, never brought it up in conversation.

(Truthfully, Lando assumed Oscar was a virgin. He assumed that the last pair of tits Oscar had seen were when he was still breastfeeding).

He didn't expect Oscar to arrive at the track with his arm wrapped around a girl. She looked at everything in the garage with wide, curious eyes and asked Oscar a million questions, all of which he was happy to answer.

Lando's eyebrows were raised as he approached the two of them. A hook up, maybe. But Oscar didn't seem like the type.

His smile was charming as he held his hand out towards her. He didn't know who she was, but he had plans to get very well acquainted with her.

"Hi," he said as she took his hand. "I'm Lando."

She politely introduced herself and stepped back towards Oscar. Oscar, who knew his teammate well enough to know what he was doing.

Oscar let his hand rest on her shoulder. "Lando," he said calmly, politely. His hand squeezed her shoulder and she turned to grin at him. "I'd like you to meet my soulmate."

Lando's jaw dropped. "No fucking way."

a/n: this is the second part of @bernelflo request! I went a different route aside from texts for this one. I might’ve gotten carried away writing some… hope you enjoy!🫶

Max Verstappen

You and Max have been friends for quite some time now. He’s been your best friend for as long as you can honestly remember. You’ve seen him grow up in the world of motorsports. And despite your different lives, you did your absolute best to support him in whichever way you could.

It was after Max won Zandvoort in 2023 when he finally made his move to ask you out. The question simple and your answer of yes, a no brainer. That night was filled with celebrations both of his win and your newfound relationship.

There was no doubt that after half the season that Max’s chances of becoming a two time world champion were very high.

Abu Dhabi came around faster than the cars itself. The season full of highs nearing a close. It was bittersweet but you were ready to have Max to yourself.

In the blink of an eye, Max won. You were so ecstatic. Jumping around the garage hugging anybody who walked your way. Once Max’s car pulled to a stop and he jumped out, he was immediately ambushed by everyone at Oracle Red Bull Racing. He swiftly made his way through the dense crowd to find you; full of happy tears.

“You did it Max!” You exclaimed hugging him as tight as can be. He was still in shock as he looked at your face, studying it in a way almost to figure out which emotion he should feel first.

You pulled away from him, his hands still wrapped around your waist.

“I love you.” You said tenderly. “I really love you.”

Shocked, again was Max’s expression.

You both had said ‘I love you’ before but in the sense of friendship. But this time, this ‘I love you’ was different. It was the only way you could say those words to another from now on. And it meant the absolute world.

Oscar Piastri

Hungary 2024 was going to hell in a hand basket or so it seemed for the McLaren Team. Oscar finally got his maiden win under not so optimal circumstances. Tensions were high between him, Lando and all other members of the team.

He won, plain and simple. But Oscar couldn’t seem to really enjoy the win.

After the podium celebration, you finally got to really see Oscar.

You hugged him tightly as his arms wrapped around you. He said nothing but his mind was saying everything.

“I’m proud of you,” you began “you know that, right?”

He exhaled and took a step back.

“Yeah.” He said in the most defeated tone you had ever heard.

“You got your first win, Osc. I am so proud of you. You fought hard out there, and you won.” You said looking at him trying to meet his gaze while he looked everywhere else but you.

“Hey.” You said grabbing his face with your hand and turning it towards you.

He finally looked at you, his sad eyes breaking your heart just a little bit.

“I love you.”

His eyes widened just a little bit. Since you had only been dating for a handful of months, the “opportune” moment to say those words hadn’t presented itself yet. Not until today.

Oscar’s determination had always been evident, but his humility often went unseen by others but not you.

“I do love you. More than words can describe.” You said as you tucked a piece of his hair behind his ear.

“Really?” He said in an exasperated tone, as if he didn’t believe you. “Even after all this?”

“Even more so, especially after this.”

David Malukas

Ever since you and David started dating, you had weekly movie nights every Friday evening. David would cook dinner or, more often than not, order something out.

The two of you rotated weeks on choosing the movie of the night. It was never an issue given the fact that your favorite movie genres were practically identical.

However, after the eventful day you had at school today, all you wanted to do was watch your favorite movie that you’ve seen at least a handful of times already with David. Disney’s live action Cinderella was all you could think of.

Princess movies was the one genre that David wasn’t too enthused about, he’d much rather watch an action movie or thriller over a fairytale. But, due to your short worded texts throughout the day and the tired sound of your voice over the phone, he knew that his movie choice of the week would be in favor of you.

The moment you arrived at David’s place, you were on the verge of tears. You were tired and exhausted from the amount of tests you had taken that day due to midterms. As soon as David opened his door, tears started falling down your face.

“Woah, babe, what’s wrong?” He said ushering you quickly inside. No words fell from your mouth, just silent sobs. His hand came up to cradle the back of your head as he held you in a tight embrace.

After a moment, you escaped his grasp and flopped down onto the couch face first. He sat down beside you rubbing your back soothingly.

“We don’t have to talk about it right now if you don’t want. We can just go ahead and play Cinderella.” He said as he reached for the tv remote.

Your head whipped up from the couch cushions and towards him then towards the tv where he already had the movie cued up to play.

“Oh I love you.” You said before bursting into tears again.

David maneuvered you into a cuddling position before pressing play on the movie.

“I love you too.” He said.

To be loved is to be known.

Alexander Rossi

“Alex I’m heading to the store, do you need anything?” You yelled from downstairs.

You were cooking dinner tonight for the two of you and needed to grab a few things from the grocery store before cooking.

You walked up the stairs and into his office where he was preparing to record a podcast episode with James.

“Um, let me think.” Alex said leaning back in his chair wracking his brain to see if he needed anything.

“Oh, could you get some fruit so I can make a fruit salad?” He asked looking up at you.

“Yeah, I already got that on the list.” You said, smiling while holding up the shopping list and pointing to the fruit you wrote down.

“You’re the best, thank you.” He said to you, hugging your waist.

You stood there for a moment and ran your hand through his hair. It was intimate moments like these that made your heart swell. With a few months of being together under your belts, domestic tasks such as making dinner together or just being in each other’s presence came to you both like second nature.

“What are you guys talking about today?” You asked motioning towards Alex's computer.

“Honestly, I have no clue aside from last week’s race.” Alex said laughing. “Whatever Hinch and Thim throw at me I guess?”

You nodded, basking in the stillness of the moment.

“Well, I’m gonna head out now.” You said while bending down to give Alex a kiss.

“Okay, I’ll see you later. I should be done by the time you get back.”

“Sounds good.” You said stepping away from him and making your way to the door. “See ya later, I love you.”

By the time your words registered in Alex’s mind, you were already down stairs and heading out the door. You hadn’t even realized what you had said. It came out so naturally from you, there wasn’t a need to have a second thought about it.

And, unbeknownst to you, James joined the video call just in time to hear it and see Alex’s shocked face.

That night, Alex made sure to return the words, as they were genuine.

denial. charles would never fall for his best friend. he couldn't. the second he caught the view of you laughing with your friend, your wide smile adorned with the crinkles by your eyes. he knew he was in deep, and he hated himself for it.

realization. after two and a half months of trying to deny his own feelings for you, he finally accepted it. he could barely keep his eyes off of you. while he brought you to races, he kept you near, just for an excuse to be close to you. carlos mentioned to the other ferrari driver how he has 'heart eyes' for you. as soon as carlos left the room, charles smiled to himself, knowing how much he really cared for you.

obsession. ever since charles confessed his feelings to you, you've been attached at the hip. you loved every second of it. he cared about you before, but it's only been amplified. he helps carries your things, spends extra time with you before you have to get out of bed, and cooks dinner with you (even though he messes up almost every meal). he talks about you whenever he can, and loves when you get brought up in interviews. he can't wait to tell you he loves you.

denial. lando shut himself out when he first felt such strong feelings for you. he rarely responded to your texts, and didn't even pick up your calls. you had to rely on oscar to see how lando has been doing since he's been m.i.a. lando on the other hand, wondered how he could possibly fall for you. maybe it was just a silly crush, that would go away in a week or two. that's all he could hope it was.

realization. it's been three weeks since lando discovered his feelings for you, and no, they haven't gone away. he didn't mind though. the feeling was starting to become normal now. the longing glances towards you in the paddock and while out with friends didn't go unnoticed by his friends. he smiled to himself whenever he saw you, he couldn't help it. oscar noticed right away, and was quick to point it out to lando. "it's been two minutes and you haven't stopped staring at her." "shut up osc." (he says with a smile).

obsession. god lando was obsessed with you. he couldn't go five minutes without some form of physical contact. he'd have his hand around your waist, rubbing small circles with his thumb. he was always kissing your shoulder before he left the room. his hands never left your hair while you cuddled in his bed. you laughed when he told you his motivation to finish a race was to be able to hold you. his eyebrows furrowed when he told you he meant every word.

denial. despite his growing feelings for you, max kept you close. not once did he mention anything towards you, keeping your friendship the same as it was. he liked the calmness, and he knew if he spilled anything it would reck it. therefore he buried the feelings, denied them.

realization. after max was told he became the world champion, he only wanted to run up to one person. that person was you, and that was when he knew. he only wanted to hug you after the cool down lap, he only wanted to kiss you, and finally tell you how he's been feeling for weeks. his smile couldn't be wiped off his face as he was able to find you in the crowd and pull you into a hug.

obsession. max's favorite thing to do was kiss you. he wasn't picky either. he'd kiss your forehead, your cheek, your neck, your nose, and most importantly your lips. oh how he loved kissing your lips. he felt as though they were made for him. yours molded to his perfectly, and he wouldn't want it any other way.

this day kinda gets ruined because all im seeing is people discredit landos year... saying osc can be world champion and lando cant... idk. i think they missed qatar and abu dhabi races or like this whole season. its like they have lando hating glasses on. as if contending to max verstappen for 1st place is such a small thing. idk how people came up with this narrative that lando is a horrible driver when he finished SECOND in the drivers standings???? wtf. they think thats so easy why dont they try to do the same... 😭 im so sorry for the rant its just a bit upsetting that for the wdc contention 2025 only lando fans seem to be backing up lando while everyone else think its oscar or someone else... lando wont even content in their opinion. andrea stella called oscar future world champ in a video too. how much would those words have helped lando this year huh?

i understand what you feel, anon.

the day does get ruined when people pretend that lando hasn't had an amazing season. he went from "lando nowins" to "lando nochampionships" within less than six months, and that's a growth of its own.

i really do believe that oscar will be wdc one day, but 2025 is not his year. not unless he can fix his qualifyings and managing his tyres. lando has a higher chance of being wdc in 2025, because he learned this year what its like to be in a title fight. he was thrown into it halfway through, and he didn't know how to cope with the pressure, but he learned and he adapted, and he will come back stronger next year.

"lando hating glasses" <- yeah, thats a pretty accurate thing for the haters. its the same as always. he has started beating their favs, and they can't handle that, so they hate on him for no reason. abu dhabi was a masterclass race by lando, and he fully deserved the win. qatar would've ended with him on the podium, if not for the stop and go penalty, and anyone who has watched the race and has at least a little bit of normal and rational thinking would agree.

idk how people came up with this narrative that lando is a horrible driver when he finished SECOND in the drivers standings???? <- its the same confusion i have with oscar being "a top three" driver. no hate to oscar, he's excellent at defending, and god it's hot to watch him defending. just yesterday i channeled my inner oscar piastri and defended against a car that kept honking for no reason. but, we know lando's not a bad driver. if he was, he wouldn't have had all the achievements he has today. he has two crucial stats backing him up, which is fourth mcl driver to get 8 poles in a season, and a very small group of drivers who got most wins in the same season as their maiden win (the highest is 4, which lando did last night).

they think thats so easy why dont they try to do the same... <- i've been saying that. i don't hate any of the drivers for their driving skills. even charles. if i don't like a driver, it has to do with their personality or their vibe that i just don't feel comfortable with. yes, it's a little bit of projection, but i don't mind. formula 1 is not easy. it's a crazy amount of training and physical and mental strength. just because its "driving a car" doesn't mean its the same as the normal driving we do.

But girl Oscar who is all nonchalant in public but totally opposite in winner's room. None of the drivers expect it, they all thought she will avoid using the winner's room, (Perhaps that's why Max never called upon her?? Feeling a difference in calling upon one of his mates and the only girl driver on the grid who perhaps he is just friendly with), her calling upon Max??? in Qatar definitely creates a buzz, all of them end up thinking deeply about it, some try subtly questioning Max and are unable to meet her eyes the next time they meet her.

Also a funny thought, what if, the other driver starry eyed, stuttering after the winner's room goes up to her, (Girl Osc gave them the best night of their lives) and girl Oscar is her usual self and the poor driver is left confused a bit heartbroken ( But girl Osc has no time for pathetic boys)

but max won his wdc, so 'his' winner's room has bigger priority... max solves that problem by going on his knees for her. only once. he doesn't want to fuck her when he doesn't even know her properly, but he also wants to reward her, reward himself.

it makes rounds, of course it does. because outsiders think oscar was the one who called upon max, max who is world champion, max who has been dominating the whole season. she doesn't say anything, max as well, but for some reason... max seems closer with oscar now, even if it doesn't have any 'sexual air' to it.

let's just say 2024 is where oscar can act on the rule of the winner's room but some winners around her help her out... for selfish reasons or simply because they're competitive... and the lines of the rules starts to blur...

I was so sad about Oscar only being p8, but remembered that he’s a rookie and had limited dry condition running also has never driven on the track apart from a test. So I’m proud 🫶🏼🥹 Lando is insane 😩😩 he’s going to give me a heart attack with being close to be knocked down but damn so quick 🥹 it was hard for experienced drivers too not for a rookie who just jumped in basically unprepared and unexpectedly. Nightmare In The Air: The Sad Song Of AS Monaco

AS Monaco used to be a club I respected. No one should forget the magical year that was the 2016-17 season. Here was a side that was extremely fun to watch and did the principality proud. They had great players representing the once-shining diagonal strip: Danijel Subasic, Andrea Raggi, Radamel Falcao, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Joao Moutinho, Fabinho, Thomas Lemar, Djibril Sidibe and the now-prince of Paris, Kylian Mbappe. Indeed, after Monaco had the season to believe and won the Ligue 1 title, everything fell apart once the club decided to sell its best players and invest in youth that were not exactly ready to do the club and its people proud.

The biggest sell of them all is that of Mbappe, Parisian born and bred. Now a world champion at Paris Saint-Germain and a champion of all the domestic tournaments Paris can win at the top level, Monaco are staring at relegation. It is one that just, even as a Parisian supporter, absolutely devastates you. The ill-fated decision to not keep the good players that built its 2016-17 league season and forge a dynasty and see many of its top performers play in the Premier League and PSG, in the case of Mbappe, is a situation that not even Thierry Henry himself can reverse without a decision by those who have left to consider coming back.

The last time Monaco were relegated was seven years ago, back in 2011. During that season, the likes of Ligue 2 sides Stade Brestois 29 and Valenciennes FC were still playing in the top flight, and a humble, yet storied club by the name of ACA Arles-Avignon was relegated. A few years later, that club would be sent to the National and cease to exist. Once Monaco got promoted (the process took two full seasons), the club would witness steady form and saw its golden generation blossom in 2017. But with the sales of those great players, and the departure of Mbappe, and the return of Paris Saint-Germain to the top of Ligue 1, Monaco have been in a free fall.

The young blood that were built to carry the torch have not been healthy. The prideful boasting of Willem Geubbels proved to be his downfall, as he too is among the walking wounded. A long line of injured senior players have also contributed to the demise of Monaco's season. Leonardo Jardim was sacked as a result of the club's form but it is the decisions of its ownership to commit suicide in terms of its future fortunes that are the culprit. The fans of the club have departed. Every home game is actually a home game for the visitors, and the Nov. 11 match with Paris Saint-Germain was, in essence, another home game for the best team in French club football, in spite of Mediapart's efforts to form a fierce journalistic resistance.

800 members of the well-documentsed Colectif Ultras Paris accompanied the Rouge Et Bleu in Kylian Mbappe's return to the once-powerful house of pain that was the Stade Louis II. Mbappe could have scored, but it was ruled offsides by VAR and it was VAR and an unheralded goalkeeping hand named Diego Benaglio that made the score respectable though not in doubt. Paris Saint-Germain 4, AS Monaco 0, and even Sidibe had realized that his heart was no longer with this club as he had a hand in all four PSG goals.

In fact, Paris themselves knew that Monaco were in a spot that they had in been in at times during their stay in Ligue 1 that has gone uninterrupted since 1974. And so, they chose to make it a simple, clinical exercise, a professional no-nonsense effort ahead of tough tests with Liverpool and Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League. One could say this was a training ground run and PSG were simply scoring for fun at the Camp des Loges in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, their home base. It was that one sided.

And when the final whistle blew, there were hugs of sympathy, exchanges of shirts, hat trick hero Edinson Cavani, Neymar Santos Jr., Mbappe and the charges applauding the fans, the usual postgame runabout. But even as the indomitable Parisians slowly made their way back to airport to fly back to the capital to prepare for training or national team assignments (Mbappe and Sidibe are summoned to the French Team for a match against the Netherlands that could see them make the UEFA Nations League knockout rounds), even they were left wondering as to why Monaco did not build for a dynasty and instead cashed in, ultimately putting the club in a relegation battle.

As it stands, Monaco are at a crossroads. Only one team is worse that the Monegasques, and that is En Avant de Guingamp. They had also fired Antoine Kombouare and brought Jocelynn Gourvennec to save that team. And Guingamp are only at the bottom on goal differential (-19). Monaco are 1-4-8. Seven points with a goal differential of -10. This club, historically, had form against Paris Saint-Germain in the past. PSG are 13-0-0, with a goal differential of 38 and a full 39 points. 32 points ahead, more than 10 wins ahead of Monaco.

The champions of that 2011 season? Lille OSC, who are now experiencing a renaissance after coming back from the dead. At 8-2-3 (26 points), Lille are bound for the Champions League, for the first time in eight seasons. They are effectively where Monaco are supposed to be, had the club elected to keep its stars and build a dynasty of form from this talent, in this, the League of Talents.

January is going to be the month that could make or break Monaco's future in Ligue 1. It must now make a Herculean effort to scout for stars in South America and elsewhere and make an honest pitch to have them buy into the club's vision and advantages of playing in the principality. But with Dimitry Ryboloblev under the weight by the authorities as part of some backroom dealing and other financial foul play, the writing is on the wall for Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club: they are set to return to Ligue 2.

There is a silver lining to all this. During 2011, Club Atletico River Plate (who have a similar diagonal strip to Monaco) were also relegated in a playoff with Belgrano de Cordoba. The stars who used to play for River elected to return to the club to bring them back up and they have not gone down since and are a win away from winning the Copa Libertadores this year. Monaco can experience the same lows and highs and rethink its player policy to become a competitive power in Europe. The irony to all this? That same Belgrano team is currently 22nd on the relegation table, directly hovering above the drop zone to Primera B Nacional.
