Sylvia Jacqueline Carton dove her face into her bowl of noodles, greedily devouring every last inch of her meal with the intensity of a jackal going down on a piece of meat. Her face was absolutely getting messed up and dirty and would probably end up smelling stronger and more pungent than a figgy pudding at Christmas time, but Sylvia didn’t care. It tasted good and that was all that mattered.

And once the meal was finally finished, Sylvia groaned with satisfaction, for that was the most filling meal she had ever had in her entire life. Sylvia had not been poor growing up, in fact quite the opposite. Though being a poor orphan of mixed Irish and Chinese descent growing up in the middle of the rolling fields and tranquil village squares of rural Shropshire had had its difficulties for sure, Sylvia’s aunt Christina had always made sure she was fed and well-cared for as she occupied her strange life of living halfway being the scruffy, dirty village tomcat and the magnificent and noble honours student of the local school. Aunt Christina (the older twin sister of Sylvia’s father Peter Gerald Carton, a rather stout and peculiar but kind-hearted man who had raised Sylvia on his own for the most part after his Hong Kong-born wife Melissa Elaine Sima had died of bowel cancer when Sylvia was four years and three months old before dying himself in a freakish car accident when Sylvia was eight years and seven months old and leaving his sole child in his own sister’s care) had been the bartender at the local pub in their hometown of Upton Magna, and thus had been a master of cooking fabulous and wonderful feasts for her little niece even before she became the girl’s official guardian. As a result of growing up with all of this good food and drink in her life as a grieving and rather lonely but highly intelligent child, Sylvia had always turned to eating and drinking a nice meal or two whenever she was stressed out by something or other, which was honestly rather frequent in the profession where she worked.

“Wow” a friendly and well-meaning voice called out as Sylvia was finishing the last of her broth, “You really were super, super hungry in the aftermath of that case, weren’t you?”

Sylvia stopped for a while before accidentally spitting out all of her remaining broth all over poor Charles Jonathan Stryver’s face. Stryver was somewhat bemused at this turn of events and did nothing much other than just calmly and carefully pick up a towel and wipe the hot soup broth off of his face.

“Yeah, I was” Sylvia responded after not much time, “I don’t know. There was just…something about that woman that just…captured my imagination or something else in me in a way no one else ever has”.

“She does kind of look like you, to be quite honest” Stryver said at last as he finished wiping the last of the soup broth off of his face.

“Yes, I am aware of that” Sylvia said again, “but thank you for stating the obvious, Professor”.

It was true though. Catherine Elizabeth Darnay had gotten stuck inside of Sylvia Jacqueline Carton’s head and just refused to get out of there. There was just something about the way she laughed at some bad, cheesy joke or another, the way she had smiled when Sylvia had gotten her off the hook for whatever stupid, bullcrap charges had been hurled at her for her time as a Red Cross nurse serving in Iraq, as if caring for human life and well-being had made her somehow complicit in the atrocities of Saddam or Osama. There was not much that Sylvia knew about Catherine, only that she had been born in Algeria, the daughter of a French businessman and his Algerian wife, with both of her father and her maternal grandfather having some connection or another to the infamously awful Evremonde Industrial Manufacturing, one of the cruellest and most disgusting military industrial war crime-profiting criminal leagues in the whole entire world. Fortunately though, it seemed to Sylvia at least that Catherine was a good and kind and noble woman who had long since rejected the wicked ways of her vile family and had chosen to be good and kind and just to all of God’s children.

(It’s so funny how I’m for the most part an atheist and yet I still think of Cat Darnay as almost a woman of God Themselves. Must be Aunt Christina’s upbringing again or maybe iit was just being brought up in proximity to a church and having a vicar’s daughter for a first crush).

Of course, it was not to be. Catherine was already deeply, deeply in love with another person, a local nurse from Bloomsbury named Lucine Manette, who was said to be as beautiful and intelligent as they were also gentle and kind and loving. It was said in almost all of London’s finest queer circles that they were the hottest and most eligible panromantic bisexual in all of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. And yet they had never married at all, for they were most prominently invested in taking care of their father Alexandre, a journalist who had attempted to blow the whistle on American war crimes in the first Gulf War and had been imprisoned on Riker’s Island for eighteen years until Lucine had successfully smuggled him out of New York to London in 2011. Sylvia sweated a little and rubbed her left hand through the jet black buzzcut that was her recently cut hair at the thought of both Catherine and Lucine, whose beautiful performances of the feminine gender made Sylvia feel even more than usual like she was the butchest butch who ever butched. Of course, Sylvia was not the super-butch lesbian that either she or her compatriots sometimes imagined her as being. Of course, she had very much been the village tomboy when she was little, always more comfortable running around in tattered jeans and light white t-shirts with a freckled smile on her face as she sat by herself with a book under the old ash trees that made up the forests around her home village of Upton Magna than trying to be a pretty little girl laughing and giggling with the other village children. However, she had never held more “girly” things in all that much contempt. In fact, she had loved the brave and headstrong young women she saw in her childhood princess movies and classic novels even as most of them had worn dresses rather than pants and ended up with hot boys rather than with other beautiful girls. In fact, for most of her childhood, Sylvia had dreamed of moving to the city to find a beautiful, strong woman to take her up into her arms and spirit her away into a new life of wonder and love…only to come to London and find that all of the eligible and beautiful queer women had been taken and she herself was left all alone. And that, sadly, was when her heart had started to turn as cold and bitter as a winter snowstorm, and when she had begun to harden herself to the idea of love and companionship and had resigned herself to the fate of being alone and fairly miserable with only her mentor Professor Charles Jonathan Stryver and her books and Hakkasan food to keep her company through her darkest times.

However, no sooner than Sylvia Jacqueline Carton started on the depths of these musings when she saw none other than Catherine Darnay and Lucine Sophia Manette coming into the Hakkasan and sitting down together on a date. Sylvia was rather reluctant to be seen by them for fear of embarrassing herself in front of both these supremely lovely and most excellent individuals. So instead of even trying to sit in the same vague vicinity as both of these beloveds, Sylvia Jacqueline Carton bolted straight up from the table and ran to the bathroom to gather her thoughts as she stared into the mirror. Once there, Sylvia Carton plopped herself down onto the toilet and tried desperately not to scream loudly at the top of her lungs as she held her head tightly between her hands. Part of her just wanted to quiet down and head silently home through a way that nobody else could see until she could flop down upon her bed and let the tidal wave of emotions ride all over her until she could fall asleep at last…and meanwhile, another part of her just wanted to strip off all of her clothes then and there and scream naked into a mirror until she passed out at last and had to be carried home by Stryver…until she then remembered that the London autumns were, to put it very bluntly, not the warmest and most pleasant experiences in the world, and she decided that being able to get home calmly and quickly was a much, much better thing than being carried home in her birthday suit by her old professor. And so it was that, once the pounding in her ears had died down into a barely audible crawl and once her heart had ceased pounding and settled down into a quiet yet still constantly eternal vibration that kept the human body alive for as long as it could, the lawyer known as Sylvia Jacqueline Carton finally exited the bathrooms of this humble London Hakkasan and reentered into the world of normal conversation.

However, when Sylvia Carton reentered into said world of normal conversation, the conversation that was wholly surrounding her was anything but normal, to put it very, very bluntly. For there was on the restaurant TV screen at the moment a special presentation from the BBC about how national hero John Arthur Barsad had been caught trying to play hanky panky with Jeremiah Isaac Cruncher, a local bank teller for Tellson’s Bank. And one must know, dearest reader, that when your narrator refers to “hanky panky”, they are in fact referring to a massive blow job that Mister Cruncher administered to Mister Barsad and which Mister Barsad had decided to record on video and had accidentally posted to his Facebook account and which was now going viral across the nation.

I don’t get the argument for potentiality. A fetus could grow up to be a doctor, or a criminal, the man who cures cancer or the Second Osama, what if the world was made of pudding? Why don’t cha answer that Weegee?

Second is that criminals aren’t forever stuck being a criminal forever, I’d in fact rather we have criminal rehabilitation. I will admit this rehabilitation is more for smaller crimes like robbery and drug peddling, murderers and serial killers might not work, and may have to be put down in the worst case scenario.

This still feels like we’re moving on to a different point. I was saying America ought to have a standard where the stripping of a person’s human rights correlates with food and shelter provided by an authority. What I got wrong was a fetus is by design required to feed off of the mother’s nutrients while a prisoner loses their right to vote and gets put in a cell with food provided, but because of a voluntary choice to break the law. I mixed up how we ought to treat a person without human rights to WHY we should not give a person human rights.

What the abortion argument gets wrong is that people assume that if you can prove a fetus is a person or that unwanted pregnancy is entirely preventable is built on the assumption that a fetus ought to have human rights. No, I think that notion should be challenged, I think there can be times when a human life does not require constitutional protections, specifically, when the human life inherently grows and depends on the nutrients of a different authority, that person is property of the person.

It matches the American ethos. Slaves had no human rights but the excuse was they were “well fed” and “helped around the house” (they were not treated well) it also applies to the modern slavery complex (prisons) where you lose your human rights in exchange for shitty prison food and a cell to sleep in.

Tamaki called out into the seemingly empty apartment as he closed the door behind him.

“We’ll be right there, Tamaki!”

Wiping his shoes on the doormat, Tamaki stayed near the front door while taking moment to look around the interior.

The small apartment was decorated warmly, with touches of decor that were definitely picked out by (Y/N) themself.

Various knickknacks and souvenirs were arranged throughout the apartment; a good portion familiar to Tamaki.

“Tama-nii!!”

Aya called out for her brother as she turned the corner and ran into his awaiting arms.

Giggling and greetings abound, Tamaki whirled her around in the air before setting her down, crouching on the balls of his feet.

“Perfect timing. We just finished a special surprise for you.”

(Y/N) entered the hallway with their hands noticeably placed behind their back.

Tamaki tilted his head in confusion as Aya ran to (Y/N)’s side, carefully taking hold of the item behind her own back.

“Close your eyes!”

Tamaki followed Aya’s orders as she placed the secret object around his neck.

“Noooow open!”

Tamaki ran his hand up and down the crocheted yarn that hung all the way down to his stomach.

At the lowest point of the fuzzy necklace, was a crocheted pouch that looked to fit only a knuckle’s worth of objects.

“What is it?” Tamaki questioned bluntly.

“It’s Tama-nii’s Limited Edition Osama Pudding Pouch!! It can hold up to three puddings at a time.”

“No way!!”

“Yup! (Y/N) taught me how to crochet and then helped me make it.”

“You made this yourself, Aya?!”

“Sure did!”

Aya puffed out her chest with a satisfied grin as Tamaki reveled at the handmade gift.

(Y/N) watched quietly as the siblings shared a heartwarming moment.

“It’s getting dark soon, you two better start heading home.” (Y/N) chided.

Both Yotsuba siblings turned towards them with a pout.

(Y/N) chuckled, always finding joy in watching the two exhibit matching behavior.

“Don’t give me that look. Aya, go pack your things, okay?”

“Okaaay.”

Tamaki stood up in front of (Y/N) as Aya rounded the corner.

“Isn’t Aya the best?”

Tamaki fiddled with the custom-made pudding pouch, grin still stretched across his face.

Leaning in towards Tamaki, (Y/N) playfully elbowed his arm.

“Aaand?”

Tamaki continued to fiddle with his present, stopping only when (Y/N) elbowed him a bit harsher.

“Huh? Did you say something?”

With a pout, (Y/N) sharply turned their head away from Tamaki.

“So mean!”

They began to fake cry in an absurd fashion, signaling to Tamaki that they were not serious.

Still, he was confused about what they were hinting at.

After glancing at his pudding pouch again, it appeared that he had finally understood what (Y/N).

“Aaah, sorry (Y/N)-chan— I didn’t even grab any pudding for myself on the way here so I don’t have any for you.”

(Y/N) blinked in disbelief.

They let out a sigh, “Nevermind..”

Stepping into the kitchen, (Y/N) produced an ousama pudding from the fridge and threw it into Tamaki’s awaiting hands.

Tamaki continued to stare quizzically at (Y/N) as Aya re-entered the hallway.

“I got all my stuff.”

(Y/N) leaned on the counter, “Even your bracelets?”

“Mhm.”

Aya crouched on the ground as she begun to put on her shoes.

(Y/N) hesitantly looked back towards Tamaki, who hadn’t let up his stare.

They quickly looked away without a word, awkwardly slinking into the kitchen to avoid further eye contact.

Aya stood up, tugging at her brother’s sleeve to signal she was ready to go.

Tamaki glanced down at his sister before resting a hand atop her head.

“Wait outside for a little, okay Aya? There’s something I gotta talk to (Y/N) about.”

(Y/N) shifted uncomfortably, deciding to occupy their fidgety hands with the dirty dishes.

“Okay, but hurry up. It’s getting late.”

“I will.”

With a ruffle of the hair, Aya exited the apartment and waited by the door, occupying herself with her phone.

Tamaki walked onto the kitchen tile, standing directly behind (Y/N) who was now rewashing the last plate several times over.

“(Y/N)-chan, you’re doing it again.”

“Doing what?”

Tamaki let out a frustrated sigh before spinning (Y/N) to the face him, hands firmly gripping their hips.

“I told you, I’m an idiot. You have to tell me when something’s bothering you or else I won’t know.”

(Y/N) fiddled with their fingers, stalling for time.

Despite his impatience, Tamaki continued to wait for (Y/N)’s answer.

The longer the two had been friends, the more they grew to understand and adapt to each other’s tendencies.

(Y/N) had learned not to take Tamaki’s aloofness to heart.

Tamaki had learned what it looked like when (Y/N) wasn’t voicing their troubles.

“I just… I worked really hard to get the right supplies and figure out how to crochet before I could teach Aya and then figuring out a pattern that would fit three pudding jars…”

‘And you didn’t even acknowledge me.’

(Y/N) felt frustration tears coming on.

‘This is stupid, I never should have said anything.’

Another habit that Tamaki had become familiar with was (Y/N)’s tendency to close up after voicing their emotions.

He had even asked Sogo what he could do to help them better express their true feelings.

“Wh.. What can, I do, to help right now?”

The words were clunky coming out of Tamaki’s mouth but he planned on getting used to them.

A minute of silence passed by as (Y/N) concentrated on processing their feelings into words.

The steady support around their hips provided by the comforting hands of Tamaki helped to ground (Y/N) through their train of thought.

“I think just telling you made me feel better. Since now you know I put a lot of effort into this surprise...”

Tamaki’s face remained neutral as (Y/N) shrunk into themself out of embarrassment.

“And I already told you so that’s that!” (Y/N) stammered out a last ditch effort to save their pride.

“It’s getting even later now so-“

“That’s all?”

Tamaki tugged (Y/N)’s hips towards him, successfully pulling them into his chest.

Replacing his previous grip was a hand atop their head and a hand on the small of their back.

“…Huh?”

“I knew you helped Aya make my gift..”

He began to knead at (Y/N)’s lower back in a way he knew they found relaxing.

“I should have said this sooner. (Y/N)-chan, thank you. You worked hard on this present for me.”

(Y/N) felt their head lean into the head pats and gentle scratches of Tamaki’s fingers in their hair.

“I always appreciate what you do for me and Aya. I thought you already knew.”

“I do! It’s just…”

(Y/N) finally relaxed in Tamaki’s arms, leaning into him, gingerly gripping onto the fabric that covered his chest.

Tamaki tilted his head so that his lips rested on (Y/N)’s earlobe.

“I’ll tell you more directly from now on. (Y/N)-chan, you’re the best.”

The whispered words woke up (Y/N)’s skin with a shiver

“Y-you don’t have to-”

Featherlight pecks began to trail their way from (Y/N)’s ear to their neck.

“(Y/N)-chan, You’re so cute..”

“..(Y/N)-chan, I like you a lot..”

“..(Y/N)-chan…”

The kisses reached their final destination at (Y/N)’s pulse point, their face practically glowing red with the concoction of various heart-pumping emotions.

“And If you keep forgetting, I’ll just keep reminding you.”

Tamaki placed a swift kiss on the tip of (Y/N)’s nose before leaning back to see their face.

“Alright?”

Tamaki’s bashful grin caused (Y/N) to grip onto his shirt even tighter, knees now certainly weak.

“M-mhm..”

“Hehe. Good.”

Tamaki gave (Y/N)’s hair a thorough ruffle before swiftly exiting the apartment.

(Y/N)’s knees finally gave out as they slowly lowered themself onto the kitchen tile, a hand on their neck delicately tracing the invisible line of kisses.

‘He left.. just like that… with me like this…..Did he do that on purpose? Was he just unaware of his charm?? Am I dreaming???’

(Y/N) held their head in their hands as they yelled out into the empty apartment.

Riku: There is some footage I’d like to show you, can I do it now?

Tsumugi: Good job! Yes, of course

Riku: Okay, look!

Riku: We decorated the tree all together! What do you think?

Tsumugi: Wah! It’s very beautiful…!

Tsumugi: You put all sorts of ornaments on it! There are also snowmen and santas! This is so cute

Tsumugi: Ah! Is that Cocona san, on the left side?

Riku: Correct! Wow, you noticed! There’s also osama pudding towards the top lol

Riku: I put something on it as well! It’s the keyholder I bought at today’s location. The tree is pretty full I guess, but the effect is so lively!

Tsumugi: I love the fact it collects everybody’s favorite things

Tsumugi: 

Tsumugi: Today’s recording took a long time, so I thought you’d be tired. Instead, everybody seems energic!

Riku: The shooting was so fun that we’re still excited, even if we’re back in the dormitory. Since we listened to “Party time together” many times, we’re in a party mood lol

Tsumugi: Today’s recording must have been really exciting!

Tsumugi: 1) The merry-go-round looked like fun!

Riku: It was the first time I felt so satisfacted in riding it lol. Iori stared at me and Tamaki having fun of it all the time, but when we asked him to join us he was firmly like “No, thank you”

2) Riding the steam train looked like fun!

Riku: I was so happy they let me sit in the driver’s seat! Nagi taught me how to imitate the conductor’s voice, but everybody told me I didn’t sound like one at all lol

3) What was your favorite set?

Riku: Probably the snowmen in the shape of us! Some small characteristics, like Yamato san’s glasses, were so well designed and cute! I kinda wanted to bring them home!

Tsumugi: Also, you seemed to have fun dancing with the soldier toy! I found that robot dance very cute

Riku: Really? It was a special training I got from Tamaki!

Riku: Moving without bending my knees was difficult, so I thought it was a disaster! I’m happy I did good after all!

Riku: When I focus on my knees, both my right hand and left hand stick out! Anyway, according to Tamaki this is how a robot looks like lol

Tsumugi:

Tsumugi: If you use your head to think about it, it definitely becomes messy!  You were really good at making all the movements in order

Riku: I’m happy to hear that!

Riku: 

Tsumugi: Speaking of which, your consideration was really appreciated by the staff members

Riku: What does it mean?

Tsumugi: They were happy you thanked them for preparing such a wonderful set. Apparently, you went to thank each one of them

Riku: Actually, I would have liked to thank them more

Riku: Not only they prepared a merry-go-round and a steam train - which is already incredible-; they also decorated the set with the members’ colors and other Idolish7 themed things

Riku: They thought about us to the smallest detail in order to prepare the set, I was so happy about that

Riku: I finally understood why they asked me so many details during the previous interview! There were many decorations matched with the things that I love, like donuts and omurice!

Tsumugi: They really made everything with love…! They also let me take many commemorative pictures

Tsumugi: 

Riku: You also made a lot of preparations for us, didn’t you?

Riku: Thank you so much!

Tsumugi: Don’t mention it! I also had fun preparing it!

Tsumugi: 

Riku: Were our matched snowmen also an idea of yours?

Tsumugi: I thought it would have been cute to have something which resembled you guys, so I consulted the staff members and they gave me permission. It was a beautiful final touch!

Tsumugi:

Riku: Even after the recording was over, Iori was staring at the snowmen with a regretful look

Tsumugi: Really? I didn’t notice that!

Episode 5 Recap and thoughts

Before reading this, I assume you have already watched episode 5 of IDOLiSH7 Second Beat. If not, then I suggest you discontinue reading and go watch it. I am not going to tell you where to watch it. That is something you need to figure out on your own.

Before spreading the hate for Tenn, please read this.

I am writing this to lay out a few of my thoughts of the mentioned new episode. To those who had played the game, they have pretty much knew what happened and why they happened. But for anime watchers alone, this would be solely targeted to you.

The beginning of the episode has Kujo Tenn of TRIGGER /finally/ entering the Takanashi dorms and is greeted by Yotsuba Tamaki of IDOLiSH7. Tamaki was then given a gift, the Osama Pudding that Tenn had promised from when Tamaki, along with Rokuya Nagi and Nikaido Yamato, helped him get to the concert venue in time for the TRIGGER concert in season 1, episode 4. Tenn then asks where Riku is and Tamaki pointing out the direction. The next scene is when Riku is sitting in his non-lit room and is watching TRIGGER's live, showing Tenn on the screen. There was a knock on the door ---to which Riku responded that he wasn't hungry yet. Still, the door opened and then comes a surprise....

...The pink haired center that was shown on the screen, had appeared before Riku at the door.

It was soreal for Riku to see his older brother in front of him, that he even cupped his brother's cheeks and pinched his own just to check if it was merely a dream or not. Turns out, the latter was the fact. The twins sat down parallel to one-another and you can see Riku's excitement and nervousness to be in front of his brother once again, despite what happened in episode 3. Tenn asks how Riku is and if he likes someone, to which the redhead answered he wasn't sure or he doesn't have. And then Riku asks if Tenn has one as well, to which Tenn replied, that he loves his fans.

(Correction: Riku asked if Tenn likes someone. Then Tenn bounces it back to Riku and then back to Tenn. @.@)

This is the part that gets interesting. Tenn then starts to lecture Riku about keeping a promise to the fans and that it is part of their job as idols, to complete such task despite the worst circumstances. And then Tenn practically threw a bomb at Riku by saying to quit being an idol for the second time. Now I won't narrate into further details but basically, the talk resulted into a conflict. Riku now thinks that his brother never needed him and that he and his family were abandoned by Tenn because of how Tenn realizing that their family's club's performances were affected by the financial crisis that they were facing. Which I assume that some people may agree on Riku's notion.

I am not aiming to be biased. In fact, I love both the twins myself. But mainly, I just wanted to point out Tenn's side, before you say anything bad about him. If you have or have not noticed, the scenes where Tenn mostly appears, and during his moments of having worried and frustrated expressions, even amplifying his voice, are usually being emphasized by the amazing staff within the respective animation studio, that created this anime. I have to say, Orange really did a good job of making this comeback episode and with good animation quality as well. The episode was well-paced in my opinion, although it could come by as fast-paced because of a number of things that happened within this episode alone. They did their best to squeezed it all in. If you have read the story and played the game, you can pretty much feel the same or similar feeling of being in a rollercoaster ride when you come across this particular chapter/arc. So, I'd say this is really a job-well-done!

Back to my point. Tenn's expressions and actions in this episode are given close attention as I have said earlier. Not to mention that scene towards the end, I can almost feel like he's trying to hold back his feelings and even his tears. That, to me, gives an impression that this episode is mainly focused on how Tenn wishes for Riku to understand why he is doing all this, to say what he wanted to say for the longest time. To be honest, I feel pity for him more than Riku. Yes it hurts seeing Riku being told off but if you look at it from Tenn's perspective, you would somehow understand where he is coming from.

For the anime viewers, let's just say that the twins really go awhile back. Let me ask you this; If you were the oldest son/daughter in the family, then you have a sibling that is sickly and then your parents don't have enough funds for your younger sibling's hospital bills, what would you do?

If you think about it, Tenn might have a reason as to why he wanted Riku to quit. Yes he can come across as too strict. People might think that Tenn is being too harsh and inconsiderate by saying that Riku might not have what it takes to survive the idol industry, with his illness and all that. Or that he's being selfish as well. If you think Tenn is in the wrong then that is understandable. But Tenn is just a human character. Yes he may seem perfect, but he does have flaws as a human being. He may have faults within all these as well. And that's what I think this episode is about. Well, I can't blame you for thinking otherwise because I used to think like that as well. I used to say something like "Tenn scares me because he's too strict and he's giving Riku a hard time.", when in reality, as the story progressses, it wasn't like how I initially thought.

All I can say is that, this episode left lots of hints as well. I do recommend you to tune in on the next episodes, it'll become more and more eventful. I guarantee you that. Here's to hoping that the writers will continue on staying true to the plot. Because this is just TOO GOOD to miss out or taken away.

Iori: (menghela nafas)

Riku: Oh... Iori...

Iori: Aku tidak suka tampil terakhir jadi aku datang pagian.

Riku: ...Tampil terakhir?

Iori: Dan juga, aku tidak akan melakukan handstand.

Riku: Lah, kenapa? Yang lain ngelakuin, kok. Walaupun, Nagi gagal, sih. Ah, Iori, apa kau dapat melakukan handstand?

Iori: Bisa.

Riku: Ya, lakuin, lah!!! Hal itu akan membuatku senang.

Iori: Kau sudah terlihat cukup senang.

Riku: Ya, emang. Tapi, kau ingin melihatnya juga, kan?

Iori: Lu niruin kata-kata siapa tuh?

Riku: (ketawa) Aku niruin Mitsuki! Apa kau datang untuk menyenangkanku?

Iori: Aku hanya datang untuk melihat keadaanmu sekalian jalan ke kamarku. Dan aku memiliki sebuah informasi yang dapat membuatmu senang.

Riku: Apa?

Iori: Konser kemarin menjadi topik hangat yang dibicarakan di sosmed. Katanya grup idol yang berenergi menyanyi di depan stasiun di tengah badai.

Riku: Benarkah?!

Iori: Sepertinya jumlah orang yang mengakses situs web kita meningkat.

Riku: Bagus! Berarti perjuanganku tidak sia-sia! Mereka juga bilang ada tim siaran TV yang datang, ya, kan?!

Iori: Kita muncul di TV dalam waktu yang singkat. Akan tambah bagus jika ada seseorang yang mengunggah videonya juga biar kita bisa jadi bahan pembicaraan yang hangat.

Riku: Tapi kalau begitu bukannya gak bagus, ya?

Iori: Ya, realitanya. Tapi kalau kita punya video itu, aku hampir ingin berpura-pura tidak tahu dan mengunggahnya sendiri. Itulah seberapa bagusnya penampilanmu kemarin. Kau benar-benar memulihkan perasaan kesal semua orang saat mereka menunggu kereta di tengah hujan... Ya, kau telah melakukannya dengan baik..

Riku: Kau ngeselin, ya... Kalau kau ingin memujiku, gak usah malu-malu, dong. Tapi konser kemarin itu semua berkatmu!

[TL Note: DENGER ITU IZUMI IORI!!! GAUSAH MALU MALU GREGET AKU TUH]

Iori: Aku tidak melakukan apapun.

Riku: Kau mendukungku sampai akhir, ‘kan? Jika aku pingsan di tengah konser, mereka tidak akan menjuluki kita sebagai idol yang penuh energi.

Iori: ...Sangat mengejutkan bahwa kau mengatakannya dari sudut pandang marketing. Tepat sekali. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kau tersenyum dan menyanyi sampai akhir konser jadi kita mendapat imej yang berenergi dan sehat.

Riku: Marke-? ...Aa, aku tidak terlalu paham, tapi aku hanya tidak ingin membuat penonton khawatir saat mereka sedang bersenang-senang! Aku lega aku dapat menyanyi sampai akhir konser! Semuanya itu berkat kau. Terima kasih. 

Iori: Tidak. Kita baru saja mulai. Kita sudah berhasil mengambil langkah ke depan. Mari kita maju dan menjual nama IDOLiSH7 dengan penuh semangat.

Riku: Un! Aku juga akan melakukan yang terbaik! Dan suatu hari nanti, kita akan menjadi idol seperti TRIGGER!

Iori: Tentu saja. Kita pasti akan menyusul mereka.

Riku: Un! Dan handstandnya?

Iori: Gak.

Riku: Heeeeee~~~? ... Padahal yang lain ngelakuin~~~~...

Iori: ...

Riku: ...

Iori: ... Sekali, ya.

Yamato: Aku masuk, ya.

Riku: Wah! Penampil terakhir!

Yamato: Apa maksudmu penampil terakhir...?

Riku: Semuanya pada ke sini untuk melihatku. Dan kau yang terakhir. Waktu dan tempat dipersilahkan untuk melakukan handstand!^^

Yamato: Handstand? Aah, pada ngomongin itu toh... Gimana keadaanmu?

Riku: Baik.

Yamato: Itu bagus. Oke, nih hadiah atas kesembuhanmu.

Riku: Eh?! Kau tidak perlu sampai sejauh ini! Bolehkah aku membukanya?

Yamato: Silahkan.

Riku: ...Wah! DVD Konser TRIGGER yang baru!

Yamato: Kau tidak punya yang ini, ‘kan? Kalau begitu, bagus, deh. Aku mengalami kesulitan saat memilihnya. Walaupun aku tidak tahu kau akan senang atau tidak saat melihat wajahnya Kujo.

Riku: ...Aku akan senang... Ini sesuatu yang telah kau beli untukku. Mau apapun itu, hal tersebut akan membuatku senang.

Yamato: ....Gitu, ya.

Riku: (ketawa) Aku sudah menduga bahwa kau akan datang terakhir. Karena, kau baik.

Yamato: Apaan, sih? Seseorang yang baik pasti akan langsung datang.

Riku: Unn... Etto... itu semua karena kau adalah tipe orang baik yang berpikir lebih jauh.

Yamato: ...

Riku: Di sekolah dan rumah sakit juga ada, kok, orang-orang yang seperti itu. Seperti, mereka tidak tahu harus berbuat apa tapi mereka mengkhawatirkanku. Namun, mereka bersikap seolah-olah mereka tidak mengkhawatirkanku.

Riku: Itu semua karena mereka sangat baik. Mereka takut seharusnya mereka bersikap lebih lembut atau bersikap normal saja kepadaku? Apa aku akan merasa tersakiti jika mereka bersikap seperti ini? Mereka akan memikirkan hal-hal ini lebih jauh daripada orang-orang pada umumnya.

Yamato: Riku...

This month we’re going to look at Hitler invaded Poland; thus began World War II in Europe, The Great Fire of London, Treaty of Paris signed that ended the American Revolutionary War, Neptune Discovered and 9/11 - The worst terrorist attack in U.S. history.

1st September - Hitler invaded Poland

On September 1, 1939, under the rule of Adolf Hitler, Germany invaded Poland that triggered the worst war the planet has ever seen. World War ll. Believe it or not, Japan and China were also at war at the same time, so the world wasn’t a very nice place to live at this moment in time.

The Polish invasion lasted about a month before the Nazi victory. Unfortunately, this war plunged the world into a massive crisis and significant war that would last an astonishing six years and claim the lives of millions of innocent people on both sides.

2nd September - The Great Fire of London

After so many people in London managed to avoid the Great Plague in 1665, they must have thought that the year 1666 would be a much better year. However, they were to be proved wrong.

In 1966 London witnessed one of the most massive fires the world has ever seen at the time.

The fire started in the King’s bakery in Pudding Lane near London Bridge. 

Now, fires were quite common at the time and nothing out of the ordinary. The Lord Mayor at the time was woken up and told about the fire, in which he replied, “Pish! A woman might pi** it out!.”

Unfortunately, for London, they had a particularly hot summer that year, and there hadn’t been any rain for weeks.

3rd September - Treaty of Paris signed that ended the American Revolutionary War

Even though this was a treaty signed in Paris, it was formed to end the American Revolutionary War in 1783.

The American statesman John Jay, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin negotiated the peace treaty with Great Britain, and it was officially recognised by the Crown which brought about American Independence (as it is still known today).

It was down to the combined forces of the American and French troops that led George Washington to surround the British and its general Charles Cornwallis.

23rd September 1846 - The planet Neptune was discovered

It’s strange to think that planets were discovered. I mean, they have been around forever, however, not for us humans. 

We discovered the planet Neptune on September 23, 1846, using mathematics. Johann Gottfried Galle, Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier, and John Couch Adams worked independently, but all contributed to finding this new world.

Their work was in an international dispute as to whom to attribute the discovery since they all managed to discover it at the same time.

Neptune is the farthest planet we know of that is most distant from the Sun, so you could conclude that it’s pretty cold there. It is also the fourth-largest planet by diameter and 17 times the mass of earth.

A total of nineteen men committed the worst terrorist attack on US soil when they hijacked four fuel-laden US commercial planes destined for the Twin Towers, World Trade Center (WTC), The Pentagon and a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field.

In total, 2,977 people lost their lives in Washington DC, New York City and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The attack is said to have been orchestrated by al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in retaliation to US forces in occupying several oil-rich African countries.

Dear Diary,

I promised I would tell you about Anna, John Walker, and Bin Ladin. I’ll start from the most harmful. That’s Bin Ladin. On September 11, 2001, there was a terrorist attack. A few people got on different airplanes. They all went up to the cockpit with knives and took over the plane. Then they each crashed into a different place. One crashed somewhere in Pennsylvania, one in Washington, D.C. (I think they were trying to get at the White House). And one crashed into one of the tallest buildings in the world, the World Trade Center. And we think the one who was behind all this was Osama Bin Laden. In fact, we know he was. All right, number two, John Walker. He was an American who wanted to become Muslim, so he traveled to Afghanistan. Now he’s taking their side in the war. And Anna, she’s another kid in our class. She is so, so hyper. I always dread lunchtime. She takes her chocolate milk and pours it on her face. She says they’re chocolate tears. She steals chips and pudding. And the other kids say they want to be like her! But that’s not all. She makes a big jokes out of the war. And I hate her! Not as much as I hate Molly, who called me a smart alec. Or Chelsea, who’s a traitor because she used to be my only friend, and now she’s teamed up with Molly. It’s rubbing off on her. But on a happier note, it’s Chanukah, and Sunday School is having a party, so gotta hurry!
