“Here is the CONCEPT 935x that I painted for @rev_sect ( with some additional handiwork from @ryanbeck ) .. The idea behind this car comes from its international history and layers of narrative, being born in Germany, transformed in Sweden, moving to London and finally being completed in LA by the genius that is @bisimoto .. the front clip represents its life through the 90’s whereas the main body pays homage to its Germanic roots.. This is the car that inspired the CONCEPT 27 painting from my previous post.. photography by @shootingdave”

At a time where everybody and their mother is building a bike that looks exactly the same as everyone else’s, it’s nice to reflect on people who break out of the norm and build something cool and genuinely use creative skill. Don’t get me wrong, I love big twin Harley’s and Bates seats and Peanut gas tanks, but fucking hell, it’s now turned into a generic, ‘cookie cutter’ look. I hate to say that because I myself own a rigid Panhead with a wassel tank and a VL Springer, etc...but it’s true. This is @ornamentalconifer and his Honda Rebel, that he built 10 years ago. He didn’t have $25k for a Panhead at the time, so he bought a stock Honda for 200 quid and customized it to his liking. He then painted sushi all over it and rode it 800 from London to Biarritz and back, for the @wheels_and_waves show. Now that’s punk rock!
