Del Rey / Star Wars Books recently announced new trade paperbacks in the Essential Legends Collection, one of which depicts Mara Jade on the cover of Timothy Zahn’s “Survivor’s Quest,” with art by Orlando Arocena! Arocena created the piece as a set, alongside “Outbound Flight.” The books are available August 15th.

Halloween's original movie novelization by Richard Curtis (under the pen name Curtis Richards) is being republished for the first time in over four decades, newly illustrated with nearly 100 pieces by Orlando Arocena.

Printed in Blood will debut the 224-page hardcover book with a limited edition at the Halloween: 45 Years of Terror convention in Pasadena, CA September 29-October 1. A standard version will be available in January. Both editions are up for pre-order for $50.

Born on this day 122 years ago: eccentric British character actress par excellence of stage, film, and television Elsa Lanchester (28 October 1902 - 26 December 1986). Lanchester is exceptional in movies like Ladies in Retirement (1941), The Spiral Staircase (1946), Witness for the Prosecution (1957) and Bell, Book and Candle (1958) but of course, achieved true cinematic immortality in the title role of 1935 horror classic The Bride of Frankenstein - so isn’t it perfect she was born in the lead-up to Halloween? Her long partnership with actor / director Charles Laughton was one of Hollywood’s greatest “lavender marriages.” She's also one of Catford’s most famous residents!

Village of the Damned will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on September 24 via Scream Factory. The 1995 film is a remake of the 1960 sci-fi/horror classic, itself based on John Wyndham's 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos.

Master of horror John Carpenter directs from a script by David Himmelstein (Bad Company). Christopher Reeve, Linda Kozlowski, Kirstie Alley, Michael Paré, Mark Hamill, and John Falk star.

Shout Factory carries an exclusive edition that includes a 7" featuring two newly recorded songs from the soundtrack by John Carpenter (limited to 1,000) along with a second slipcover featuring art by Orlando Arocena and two 18x24 posters. It costs $74.98.
