Original Noble Clans + Clan Leader OCs!!!
I’ve wanted to do these for a while now!! Specifically, new soul weapons with different powers, and character designs of their respective owner(s) in general. I had a lot of fun drawing them and I’ll be drawing them in the future too!
These characters aren’t necessarily exclusive to a specific/fixed setting. They can be interpreted as headcanons that exist/fit in the canon storyline, characters specific to my Millennium AU, characters that exist by themselves and don’t fit anywhere,…etc. Anything really, as I do want them to have some flexibility. So feel free to interpret them as whatever makes the most sense to you. Personally, I see them as existing in both the canon storyline as my headcanons, and in my Millennium AU. In this post I’ll be (mainly) approaching and discussing them in the context of my Millennium AU, though there will also be some references to canon/pre-canon events of my interpretation.
Onwards to the backstory and concepts… woohoo!!! I’m sooo excited to introduce them!!!
In this drawing, there are two clans total, with two characters in each clan. The blue-haired ones are the “Volo”, and the orange-haired ones are the “Pyradros”.
For context, age-wise these Clan Leaders belong to the previous generation so they’re around Previous Lord’s age. Maybe a little older, maybe a little younger, but basically that. In terms of title/position, they were appointed as Clan Leaders by the time PL became Lord. Currently, they are still active as Clan Leaders in Raskreia’s reign, so technically they can be grouped with the current generation of Clan Leaders (aka Raskreia’s peers). The heirs of these Clan Leaders are around Raskreia’s age, maybe a little older, maybe a little younger, same thing.
No one would have guessed that the Previous Lord had a different plan all along. As the years passed, witnessing the rapidly changing world had prompted PL to think of the possibility of entering voluntary eternal sleep with his Clan Leaders. Asking Gejutel to stay behind and guide the next generation weren’t the only things he did. Long before PL even mentioned anything to anyone, he came up with another idea, a different way to protect Lukedonia: sending two of his Clan Leaders to the outside world, as far as possible, to the corners of this planet. Zephyrus Volo and Leona Pyradros were his close friends and trusted allies, and PL entrusted them with the mission of completely separating themselves from influences within Lukedonia, including PL himself. They were to walk every corner of this planet and see the world for themselves, for what it truly is. Try leading others, try being led. Expand your perspective, because it is crucial. PL’s instruction regarding their eventual return to Lukedonia was that they were to return during Raskreia’s reign, and many, many years well into it. In a way, this was PL’s last resort. If Lukedonia is still holding up and doing well under Raskreia’s leadership, they can simply settle back and continue on with their lives. And if Lukedonia is suffering for whatever reasons such as unforeseen circumstances or bad leadership, they can help rebuild Lukedonia and guide them back to the right direction, since they had spent a vast amount of time outside and thus accumulated valuable experience. PL had hoped that this would be Lukedonia’s last choice. By not leaving all of his eggs in one basket, he was certainly preparing for something. Since Zephyrus and Leona were his close friends, he could fully trust them with this mission. For safety purposes, no one knew about this mission except for the three of them. There was a mutual agreement between them, and it was kept secret from everyone else, the entirety of Lukedonia. Not a single one of their fellow Clan Leaders, including the eventual traitor nobles, knew why they departed Lukedonia. They only had a vague idea that PL assigned them on some sort of mission, but none of them knew that they would never see the two again. Perhaps it was also a sacrifice on their part to leave behind their home and everything they were familiar with. They respected PL, so to them this mission was of great importance, even if it meant that this would be a permanent farewell to the rest of Lukedonia. Their fellow Clan Leaders. And most of all, their beloved friend and leader. After sharing one final moment and goodbye with PL in private, Zephyrus and Leona silently and quickly depart, never to be seen again. The drama regarding the traitors would occur much, much later. Their journey began there, and they lived many lives as different people, in different places. They had nothing else except for each other, but that was enough for them. Gradually, their mutual friendship blossomed into something more. They fell in love with each other. Sometime later, Azurine was born. Then Rufus was born. Together they would raise their children and continue on with their journey around the world, completely oblivious to everything around them, just as PL had intended them to. The plotting, the murdering, traitor nobles leaving Lukedonia, Raizel and Muzaka’s fight, the invasion of Lukedonia, even Crombel’s nukes… these events simply didn’t exist to them. The two stay loyal to their mission post-finale and continue to explore the world. They would change locations every few decades to avoid suspicions of their lack of aging. Their now young adult children, thanks to their lifestyle, are very well-informed.
(This is where context starts to become vague/flexible/divergent, for the purpose of my story I choose to have them exist in my Millennium AU.) The four of them return sometime during the events of my Millennium AU, where Lukedonia has already seen birth of a new generation. Prior to their return Azurine and Rufus had never met any of the current generation of Clan Leaders, as they were born and raised entirely outside of Lukedonia. Even Raskreia is surprised. Explanation done, questions cleared, carry on. They settle back in Lukedonia. From then on, the story continues. How will they view the current Lukedonia and what will they do? Is this what PL had foreseen? For the better or worse? Seemingly, another “journey” for them begins.
(will continue to expand on this stuff in future posts!)
Moving onto the clans and characters!
Volo:
The Volo Clan specializes in all-rounders. Their spell-based attacks are ultra wide-range. Clan members can cast buffs on themselves and their allies, and debuffs on their enemies. Usually, the most powerful spells are cast by the pureblooded Clan Leaders and their line of heirs. The fighting style varies depending on the enemy. Due to the nature of their clan, one typically performs the best in fights as support for allies. In circumstances where they’re alone and/or all allies have been defeated, a well-trained Volo can also fight solo. The symbol of this clan is the Healer. Healing is their specialty and almost all Volo CLs and their heirs go through an extensive and unforgiving training regimen specific to their clan. One would find this to be extremely hard to endure. To them this is viewed as a necessity.
Soul Weapon: Octavio. Appearance is a crystal ball set atop a golden base that has eight red gems embedded on its surface. User can choose to hold it or have it levitate on its own. The crystal ball itself for the most part is a dark shade of color such as black, purple, blue etc. and glows other brighter colors when its user chooses to activate its powers. Can summon a wide range of spells. Most spells are not meant to be offensive, as they are intended to be secondary support, though there are a few attack-based spells too. Minor to moderate wounds can be healed repeatedly, though not indefinitely. The number of times Octavio can cast a healing spell depends on the user’s remaining energy and/or occasionally, willpower. E.g. if the user is worn out and/or injured badly, other spells may still be summoned but a healing spell cannot be summoned. When a healing spell is active, the crystal ball glows a bright cyan hue. Octavio’s ultimate skill is not an attack but rather an ability. When activated, the user can transfer a serious and even fatal blow from an ally to them self. Or, they can transfer a serious or fatal blow that they received to an ally. Due to the nature of this ultimate skill, it is rarely ever activated but if the situation is dire, the user can summon the skill and, in the process, decide who to save. Both parties involved need to consent and agree to the injury transfer for it to carry out. Contrary to its appearance, Octavio cannot be used for fortune telling. You can stare at it all you want but all you’ll see is a boring, unflattering reflection of your distorted nostrils.
Zephyrus Volo: the current Clan Leader, and Leona’s husband. Tall and fairly slender, though the slender part isn’t always visible because his layers of clothes cover it up. Wears black eyeshadow. Doesn’t talk much even though he has a lot of thoughts in his head. Some of them might as well stay unspoken, since they’re quite funny but mostly annoying. A very kindhearted man in general but sometimes seen as aloof because he’s always tired due to the nature of his powers as a healer as every single spell, even the most minor ones, will drain his energy. Will extend his hand to help others around him with his powers even if it’s not an emergency, something very minor that people can probably heal by themselves with a bit of time. He takes his job very seriously and it could be a bad thing. His wife Leona keeps him in check and makes sure he isn’t going around fixing everything he can and as a result draining himself dry of his own energy and passing out somewhere with his face planted to the ground. Very affectionate but is shy to express it. Reaaaally likes holding hands. Loves it when Leona picks him up and carries him like a princess. Calls her Leonie.
Azurine Volo: the clan’s heir, Zephyrus and Leona’s first child, and Rufus’ elder sister.
Very beautiful and has a mysterious aura to her. To some she may appear to be cold, because she doesn’t smile much and prefers nodding and other subtle body language for communication rather than talking. However this completely reverses where she becomes super chatty if you get close to her and gain her trust. Just like her father she is passionate about helping others. Unfortunately, she is in the same situation as him where she needs to trade her own welfare for it. She does it a bit differently though. In contrast to the Tradio who specialize in poison, she specializes in antidotes. Specifically, she purposely inflicts herself with poison and/or other injuries, then tries to find a way to fix it. Literally putting herself through pain and enduring through all of it so she can find a solution for others, since she believes experimenting on others is inhumane. There has been several times where she had almost died from self experimentation, but it never stopped her. She does this for centuries after centuries, and there is virtually no one else with the willpower and mental capacity to do this. Her arms are always, always covered either in bandages, long sleeves or other accessories to hide her scars from self experimentation. Occasionally blood oozes out from fresh wounds that haven’t completely healed yet and it scares people. She insists it’s fine though. Karias’ on-and-off lover and in a sense Kaelestis’ not-stepmother.
Pyradros:
The Pyradros Clan specializes in both close-range and long-range combat. Attacks are mostly melee, and are super destructive and explosive in nature. The only purpose is to destroy. Not to weaken, not to contain, not to subdue. The only goal is to completely destroy the enemy with no concern about what state they’d be left in. This style of combat takes a lot of training to master. Insufficient training could lead to injuring oneself, so those who want to wield this type of fighting style must be very experienced. Even an experienced user needs to be careful, Clan Leaders and heirs included. Typically, combat training starts at a very young age and safety precautions are the priority and taught first. The symbol of this clan is the Sun. Beautiful, dazzling, and destructive. Too much or too little of it, you die. It’s all about control and balance.
Soul Weapon: Soleil. A flail. The handle is mainly black with golden tips on either end, with a massive spiked sphere attached to one end. Typically used for swinging attacks that use brute force to puncture and/or smash enemies to bits. Attacks are virtually impossible to defend against, and they are designed to inflict a great amount of pain. Even enemies with superior regeneration fear this weapon, as they will relive the trauma for every single blow they receive and recover from, where the process repeat over and over again. Sometimes even Soleil’s appearance alone is enough to instill fear into the enemy and make them lose their will to fight. In general, Soleil is unforgiving to both the enemy and the wielder, as the former will usually perish within receiving one or several blows, and the latter needs to be extremely cautious too or they may injure themselves in the process. User can also choose to fight long-range as Soleil can also release aura like a typical SW, though most users prefer melee to bring out the full extent of its raw swinging and smashing power. The spikes on the flail’s sphere can detach and reattach on command. User can command Soleil to detach its spikes and the spikes will hurl themselves at the enemy as powerful and fearsome darts. After the enemy is pierced, Soleil’s spikes can be recalled (vanishing from enemies’ body) and reappear on the flail’s sphere. And repeat process if you wish. Soleil’s flying spike darts are very hard to dodge, though it is still possible to dodge them. Soleil’s ultimate attack is summoning a self-destructive blinding light that could possibly temporarily blind everything in the area (user and allies included) and a massive field of sharp crystals in the same fashion as the spikes will emerge from the ground to pierce anything within its reach. Due to the nature of this soul weapon, fights are best done solo just because of how destructive it is. Teamwork is possible but needs to be coordinated very, very carefully.
Leona Pyradros: the current Clan Leader, and Zephyrus’ wife. Has a great smile and radiates energy that can be felt by anyone near her. A bright and bubbly person who is most often found chatting with just about anyone. The weather, new recipes, your kids doing stupid things, just mundane things. Though, as inviting as she seems, she is actually pretty selective and doesn’t let people into her inner circle easily. Or at all, really. They don’t even know that she has functionality blocked them off because she’s so good at handling it and making them feel like they’re important to her (even when they’re not). Probably knows all of the latest gossip. In a way, she’s very good at collecting intel. Enjoys fighting and will fight anyone who is willing to spare some time. Sometimes refers to her SW as “little sunny” and talks to it as if it is capable of conversation. Aww, little sunny is feeling a bit bloodthirsty, aren’t you? Me too me too. Stuff like that creeps people out sometimes. Very protective of her husband and hates it when people expect him to fix just about anything. Will chase them away so he doesn’t spend his energy on them. Will shoot spike darts juuuuust a little past your ear barely grazing it as a warning to back off. Hah. That’ll do. Though if someone really needs healing she’ll let him help. Calls her husband Zeph and sometimes Windy if she’s feeling playful. Loves a good ribcage-crushing hug (usually the one giving it)
Rufus Pyradros: the clan’s heir, Zephyrus and Leona’s second child, and Azurine’s younger brother. Quite muscular in general but that part is usually invisible because he wears so many layers of frills and furs. A bit shy and instinctively covers his eyes when he sees his mother and elder sister because he hates the sight of blood and is quite afraid of it actually, and more often than not they are bloody, with the former loving spars and the latter injuring herself for research. Will scream “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!” if frightened. A big sweetheart in general and his love language is gift giving. If he likes you you’ll find that he’s always handmaking something for you. Loves makeup and often makes his own from scratch. He loves his momma and wants to make her proud but he is pretty much lacking in terms of fighting ability because he’s SO scared of blood to the point where she can’t even train him properly without him crying and begging for a break and/or quitting at the sight of any open wound really. They just keep trying and momma is very patient. He’s very sorry about it and thinks he won’t ever be able to wield Soleil, even when she tells him not to worry. Loves potato chips. The really salty kind that always leaves your fingers all greasy and sticky.
That’s it for now! Excuse me for any typos a bit sleep deprived lol see you later will draw them more in ghe future!

A cult has been causing trouble for the Infinite Realms in their search for power and eternal life. And to make things worse, the Observants suspect that they have at least one actual ghost—or possibly even a traitorous Observant—working with them and interfering with their view. This could become a major problem…
However, as Observants, they’ve sworn not to intervene directly, so they have to pick someone else to look deeper into the situation for them. And, if necessary, to deal with it.
They choose Phantom for this role, since his half-human nature means he’ll have an easier time operating in the living world. Danny’s not entirely happy with the assignment, but the situation does seem like a genuine issue so he’s willing to look into it (if in his own way).
Since he doesn’t know how prepared the cult is for ghosts, he decides that infiltration would be the best way to gather info. Thus, he takes on a new identity in his human form and approaches the cult, expressing interest in the publicly known part of their group. Then, a bit later, he manages to successfully gain admittance into some of the more private meetings. Everything is progressing as planned!
…Though he didn’t expect to like one of his fellow initiates so much. He hopes he can change their mind on things and bring them out of the cult with him when he’s done.
Meanwhile, a hero from the Justice League has also been sent to infiltrate the cult and investigate the rumors about it. It’s gone off without a hitch so far, but they’ve gained a potential entanglement in the form of one of the other new members whom they’re developing a crush on…

our first time meeting yandere clan leader? Feel like it would be great
I mean..I definitely could tell you about the boring, clean, almost business-like official first meeting, where you both were in attendance of your respective clan elders OR I could tell you about the first meeting.
So..
Soft Yandere! Clan Leader x Future! Wife! Reader
warnings: mentions of sexual intercourse, vulgar language, more insight about him in general, this is a few years back, he's a simp haha, made up culture, not proofread, this low key got a lil long..
Tumblr media
"My lord! Look at all the goods! It's been a fruitful season this year." background noise always clung to him.
Incessant chatter, menial tasks, small talk his former nursemaid, now one of his permanent servants, always initiated. It was a headache through and through. And now his mother demanded a betrothal. To a stranger no less!
"My lord—look!" another urging had him drag his weary gaze towards one of the stalls, the apples truly bigger and prouder than the past season. But why should it concern him?
Sighing, he acknowledged the flushed merchant with a nod, while her sweaty palms smoothed out invisible lines on her skirts, before brushing a stray hair back, as if her whole head of hair wasn't a wild bird's nest.
He scoffed.
It wasn't of his own choosing to be the future of a whole clan, to carry burdens that most would never have to—to be a man, never a boy.
Yet it was like the gods shunned him for his bright spot on earth. For the very spotlight he never wanted to attract. They were angered, at least it felt as if so—as if him being born as the apple of everyone's eye caused their envy.
Perhaps one of them was the god of sun, guessing as his rays were half-blinding him at this time of the day.
"My lord! Please keep your spirits high, just look around, soak it in, I am sure your mother—" thankfully he was quicker on his feet than her or any of his other circle of servants, towering over them all, sticking out like a sore thumb since childhood, because one more ignorant word out of her mouth and his patience hanging on the thinnest thread known to man would snap in half. And he couldn't get angry. Wasn't allowed to anyways.
He groaned again.
Padding through the bustling center of the market on quick feet. He may have been scolded countless times in his childhood to not wander around alone, as valuable, as he was, but he was an adult now, wasn't he? At least he should have some autonomy. Even if that little didn't apply to which woman he would eventually have to stick his dick in.
His steps grew heavier at just the thought of it, some stranger, someone he had never met before, terrified as he was. "Perhaps mother would even stay and watch, instruct you how to properly put an heir into a womb." He cringed at the words, repulsed by only the memory of his brother's crass teasing.
He grit his teeth. No, never would he allow this marriage to be guided by his parents orders. He would be a leader; the one to fit the role he was molded to be, but never would he allow them to exert anymore power over him after his succession.
Another step, the shade engulfed him, the market more desolate in this little corner, with fewer and scarcer stalls, not the opulent ones in the square of the marketplace, but the ones with the little fishers and mothers selling home-made goods.
The one he was in front of was the former, with a plump woman standing behind a stall full of hand-woven goods, clearly distressed trying to calm her fussy child. A little tuft of blonde, with pink cheeks, babbling and whining in protest, until the woman stuck a thumb into its mouth, quietening his cries.
The sight was almost endearing. So one day, he too, would have to have such a tiny thing? Still, it would be without consent.
"By the heavens—" his head snapped in the direction of the gasp and there; there his heart stopped beating for a hot second.
The air thinned, stifled him, as if something was suffocating him with invisible hands, perhaps fate, perhaps the gods who seemed to look down on him, whether it was it hurt. God it burned.
There—a few stalls away from where he stood—was a woman, barely one, with your head bowed in front of another older one who pried something from your hands in a fit of rage.
"My lady, have you lost your mind! Anything could have happened to you—and for what? To play with children?" the greying one was so enraged, so belittling of the most beautiful flower he had ever seen bloom. He felt mad, angry at her as little zaps of electricity travelled through his veins right into his heart the moment you looked up, with a face kissed surely by the goddess of the moon as an infant. So dazzling, that felt the urge to pinch himself, gaping unlike a member of a prestige clan.
But what could he do? If he moved, he feared you would disappear and god that caused an ache in his usual hollow chest.
"My lady!" he watched wordlessly as she continued to berate you, her words swirling around his head, going in one ear and out the other as even his anger failed him. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes, something foreign and wet and all—because of you, the stranger with a tight-shut mouth with such a defeated look in her glittering gaze, with soft cheekbones and lips pursued into a tight line. As if you had just sprung out a folktale with the blue silk wrapped around you—his favourite colour.
"You cannot behave in this manner anymore! Just think about what your father may say—by the gods—and your dear aunt!" she continued her lecture, fussing as she gripped your shoulders tempting to guide you away.
He stepped forward, yet another tear rolling down his cheek—one he would never admit to shedding.
"Please, what will the people think if they see the daughter of.."
She walked off with you and, as he noticed only now, a few more servants, yet that didn't matter, because he had caught on to your title.
"My lord!" he heard frantic calling, but he didn't care, couldn't bring himself to, instead he grinned, manically. Because the gods did seem to be merciful after all.
Finally, finally he would receive something he would consent to—wished for actually, something he would be able to look forward to in this life of endless responsibilities and as he strode forward to pick up one out of the abandoned bunch of marbles on the ground, he picked a white one up to press to his chest.
One untainted—mirroring the look in your eyes,
"My wife."

A witch of the Naig-Troibadnnas (Yellowtail river valley) people, resting and enjoying a smoke of the mild stimulant brolge leaf on a hot summer day.
Witches are a small part of the everyday cultural framework among the Hill Tribes. They are individuals considered born possessed by a virgranul, a type of disembodied wild spirit that seeks to inhabit human flesh, either entering the body at the moment of conception, or entering the body at the moment of death. The latter is a dire circumstance that requires significant intercession to fix (the dead body may wander off without rites, leaving the person's soul trapped and liable to warp into the dangerous fuldaigh spirit), while the former circumstance is what causes a person to be born a witch.
In the case of those afflicted in the womb, possession by virgranul is lifelong, and is both a curse and blessing- it divides and isolates them from the human world and causes other wild spirits (both benevolent and malicious) to be perpetually drawn to them, but also allows for them to be attuned to the subtleties of spirits, and able to work magic and divination that the everyday person is incapable of.
Witches are usually recognized from a young age due to marked behavioral differences or atypical development, though are sometimes simply identified as such without obvious behavioral indications, by other witches having read signs of their coming. Their occurrence is not frequent, usually once in a generation for any given tribe. An identified witch child will be taken from their family (the timing varies by tradition, though is usually upon puberty) and into mentorship by an established witch, who will impart their accumulated knowledge and skill and teach the child how to best harness their condition.
One can be a witch regardless of their gender, with the only commonality being that they must remain unmarried, and are expected to never have children (deemed too dangerous, unavoidably placing a child in the path of potentially harmful wild spirits). With no spouses or children to support them in holding a household and herds, witches are instead supported by their communities as means of payment for their services. They typically live in semi-isolation in the boundaries between the village and wilderness (a reflection of their own division between the world of people and of wild spirits, and a protective measure for their communities), and will periodically be brought needed supplies. They do not commonly enter villages unless summoned, or for the sake of certain holidays and festivals, and live most of their lives in seclusion aside from any given mentee (who will in turn care for their mentor in old age).
The societal function of witches is as intermediaries between people and their ancestors, people and wild spirits, and as especially skilled performers of practical magic (most commonly weaving protective spells into worn items, such as clothing or the nose rings of cattle). Forms of practical magic and intercession with ancestors and spirits are performed by all members of society, but a witch has intimate, detailed knowledge of such things and tremendous natural skill that makes them an invaluable asset.
Witches personally discern the identities of the spirits living in any given area and will attempt to familiarize themselves with them, learning in depth about their ways, giving warnings of where the particularly dangerous (or mischievous) ones are, and giving recommendations on which will be receptive to offerings in return for boons. When a village needs to commune with a particularly powerful or dangerous spirit (such as a wildfolk witch), they will commonly send their own witch as an intermediary.
They are ascribed have the ability to directly summon ancestors (who otherwise come and go of their own volition, and rarely ever deign to come at the call of one who is not their descendant). This is of great use when a person finds themselves punished by their ancestors with no certainty as to why, or cases where an orphaned child's ancestry must be identified to gain them proper spiritual support.
They are also regarded as having innate qualities of divination, particularly in reading birdsign (itself generally acknowledged as communication from ancestors, and occasionally gods). The average person has basic knowledge in reading omens of birds and a learned repertoire of key signs, but a witch can divine the messages of birdsign in immense and specific detail, through a vast knowledge system of the meanings of the species, sex, flight direction, gaze, prey, number, and songs of birds. It is common for people to approach a witch for a reading of the skies before undertaking a significant venture or life change, in order to receive detailed and specific advice.
Witches are always literate (and will be taught to read and write by their mentor if they cannot already) and will record their repositories of knowledge in tomes. These are items of absolute secrecy and taboo for a non-witch to touch (the consequences can be severe, you really don't want a witch ancestor-spirit upset with you). Witches can often become competitive about the knowledge stored in these tomes and are known to organize heists amongst themselves in order to gain access to each other's secrets. Most people avoid getting themselves entangled into the complicated rivalries of witches, as these competitions can get ugly and result in many a petty curse if one gains a witch's ire.
---
The only visual cue distinguishing this man as a witch is the tattoos on his forearms, otherwise usually regarded as inappropriate to mark in the contemporary Hill Tribes cultural sphere (the face, upper arms, and sternum is reserved for important clan/tribe/ancestry identification, hands and forearms are reserved for witches, and the rest of the body is appropriate for decoration). These unique forearm tattoos indicate his ancestral connection with a lineage of witches, not blood ancestry but rather the generations of mentors that have produced him. The lines extending down to his fingers are the newest, indicating that he has fully mentored another witch and gained a place in this ancestral line.
The rest of the tattoos here are tribe and blood ancestry identifiers (on the face and upper arms respectively, worn by all members of society), and purely decorative imagery (visible here is a deer, horse, eagle, and a dragon). He also has a snake on his forearm, applied decades ago in an act of youthful rebellion, which has since gotten in the way of critical open skin space.
His clothing is otherwise typical wear for warm seasonal conditions- a man's wool shawl and woven belt, short trousers, decorative deer hide (distinct to the Naig-Troibadnnas), and sandals (these are imported Wardi style sandals, which have been modified with preferred elevated heels). The horn shaped torc on his forearm identifies him as an esteemed elder.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Theory and Headcanon - Barry's Ancestors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'll be waiting on the road! It's a 10 million Poké Dollar fine if you're late!" Barry
"Time wasted is lost." Adaman
"When you know your destination, no hesitation... And I didn't hesitate!" Irida
When I first played Legends Arceus, I wondered who Barry's ancestors were. After playing through the game (now among my top five Pokemon games), I'm totally convinced Barry's ancestors were Clan Leaders Adaman and Irida. It's so blatantly clear, in my opinion, that this was the intention. Most characters in the game are pretty clear about who their descendants would be, except for Barry. But by the end of the game, Adaman and Irida may not seem like Barry's ancestors, but the more I look at their characters, the more it makes sense.
To say Barry is the calmest person would be completely wrong. He's an incredibly hyperactive lad. He's far from being dumb, but he often lets his head get ahead of him before he can properly analyze. He later grows in this regard after being beaten by Galactic Commander Jupiter. However, there is no doubt where he wants to be and where he wants to go. These traits and aspects of Barry, which make me theorize his ancestors not being one person but two people in Legends Arceus, the Clan Leaders Adaman and Irida.
Adaman, the leader of the Diamond Clan, is hot-headed and impatient, but he is also a chill and reasonable leader. He struggles to cement his leadership status because he has never seen Dialga. However, he demonstrates his reasonable attributes by recognizing when a person is good and manages to make worthwhile decisions despite his impatience.
Irida, Clan Leader of the Pearl Clan, is much more careful and analytical, however, she also struggles with decisiveness and suffers from self-doubt as a result. She notes that after becoming Clan Leader at a young age struggles with deciding how to lead the Pearl Clan as she tries to respect its traditions while struggling to figure out how to move the Clan's future forward. In the end, she showcases she is more than deserving of the leadership position, ultimately coming to decisions beneficial to not just the Pearl Clan but also for Hisui.
"I'm going to get tougher... It's not about winning or losing... That's not good enough... I have to be stronger... It's not enough to just want to be the most powerful Trainer ever... It takes honest effort... And a determined heart." Barry
"Y'know, time changes a lot of things—but the sea stays the same. The Celestica people must've looked out at this exact same view long ago." Adaman
"Hisui means so much to me. My love for it is as vast as the land itself." Irida
To me, it's no surprise that Barry, the person with no hesitation towards his goals (and no personal space) and a habit of getting somewhere on time, is the descendant of Adaman and Irida. He definitely inherited Adaman's sense of time and impatience, but he also inherited Irida's resilience and headstrong stubbornness. The two thing he does share with both of them: their anime hairstyle and battling bring out a connection between humans and Pokemon.
"You know the best trainers must really love Pokémon from their heart. I'm talking about people like the Gym Leaders, of course. People like the Tower Tycoon and the other Frontier Brains, too. You can tell they love Pokémon when you're battling them. But I'm not conceding anything to them, or to you!" Because I'm still going to be the greatest Trainer ever!" Barry
"Imagine if everyone in Hisui partnered up with Pokémon to express themselves through battle... Living here would be even more fun!" Adaman
"I want to take this spirit of respecting and cherishing one another and spread it throughout vast Hisui—and I'll do it through battling." Irida

Original Noble Clan + Clan Leader OCs!!!
I’m suuuuper excited to introduce my third original clan, the Ceresthalassa, Clan of the Earthshakers!
About a week ago, I introduced two original clans: the “Volo”, Clan of the Healers, and the “Pyradros”, Clan of the Sun and Fire. It’s time for a third one yayy!!!!
Again, these characters aren’t necessarily exclusive to a specific/fixed setting.
For context, age-wise Doris the Clan Leader is somewhere between Gejutel and Lagus. So older than Gejutel, but younger than Lagus. In terms of title/position, Doris was appointed as Clan Leader either during or even before the Previous-previous Lord’s (Raskreia’s paternal grandfather, another OC of mine) reign. She’s old! Currently, she is still active as Clan Leader in Raskreia’s reign, so technically she can be grouped with the current generation of Clan Leaders (aka Raskreia’s peers). Retirement? Lmaooo nah. Doris’ daughter and heir Marina is definitely younger than Claudia, and most likely older than Raskreia and her Clan Leaders.
The Ceresthalassa Clan is the most nature-aligned clan in Lukedonia. The Clan name itself is a combination of Ceres (“nourishment”, “harvest”) plus Thalassa (“sea, ocean”). They are one of oldest noble clans in existence. Just as their name suggests, members of the Ceresthalassa Clan can directly manipulate and control the forces and elements of nature, including but not limited to the sea, storms, earthquakes, plants, and…farming! While the degree of manipulation depends on the individual clan member, the most powerful spells are always exclusive to and cast by the pureblooded Clan Leaders and their line of heirs, who all have very powerful and much more extensive abilities than an average clan member. For example, 1.) an ordinary clan member may be able to channel their aura to push the growth of a single or few stalks of grain, while a Clan Leader may be able to grow an entire field or even several fields of grain 2.) an ordinary clan member may be able to generate a few small rainclouds/thunderclouds, while a Clan Leader may summon a super massive, devastating hurricane 3.) an ordinary clan member may be able to slightly shift the ground beneath them, like if someone wanted to switch the location of a fountain and a flowerbed, while a Clan Leader could shift entire mountains, and even the formation and very foundation of the entire land they’re standing on (though entire large scale transformations will drain them of almost all their energy and they would need to hibernate for centuries and even a millennia so this is almost never done + there usually really isn’t a reason to) and 4.) an ordinary clan member may be able to generate a few large waves or riptides, while a Clan Leader can summon an entire tsunami, raise seawater to above boiling temperature, and lower seawater to below freezing temperature, if that is what they wish.
Unlike the Volo, where every single healing spell (even the super minor ones cast by both CLs and ordinary clan members) will drain its magic caster of some energy, the Ceresthalassa’s energy drain depends on both the individual and the type of nature manipulation. For example, clan member A could do a lot of weather manipulation and still be going at it for a good while but gets tired easily after a crop-growing spell, and clan member B is the other way around. The only all rounders that have incredible stamina across all categories are, of course, the CLs and their heirs.
The Ceresthalassa have a very special role in Lukedonia, and even the entire planet, in a sense. One could say that the world could’ve lived without the other noble clans but the Ceresthalassa? Don’t even get started on advancing things such as culture and art…without them, the other species likely wouldn’t have even survived much. And the reason is obvious. Nobles don’t need food or sleep, and can virtually live in locations with extreme weather conditions and be relatively unaffected. Which is a great privilege, of course. Maybe one that even they don’t realize puts them in such advantage and comfort compared to other species like humans, werewolves, etc.
The backstory. A long time ago, a Ceresthalassa CL felt sorry for the other species that had to struggle so much to survive, and watching them get up only to fall back down and perish was very painful for him. So he couldn’t just watch them suffer, while the other nobles just sat still and simply did nothing. He rearranged many parts of the planet so they would have suitable shelter. He lowered seas, and raised lands. He gave them resilient, edible plants that would later be known as the ancestors of the crops today; he gave them food. He used the full extent of his powers for good, and his line of descendants, the future Ceresthalassa CLs, would follow in his footsteps and do the same. They quelled storms and raging seas for humans who wanted to pass to other land. They gave them rain when there were droughts. Obviously, the Ceresthalassa were not omnipotent, because ultimately they did not own the planet, and were only capable of controlling elements once at a time, one location at a time. They did what they could to help, and left the rest to nature itself in hopes for the best, that the other species would be able to take care of themselves. And because manipulating these natural forces required the spell caster to be there physically, members of the Ceresthalassa were always running around, often traveling outside of Lukedonia to places that needed their aid. They were truly some of the busiest nobles… and still are. Doris, the current Ceresthalassa CL, has never had a single day off in her entire life. Not even when her daughter Marina was born. Talk about being a workaholic…
Anyways. Little do the humans and werewolves of today know that without this specific noble clan, they wouldn’t even be standing here as who they are right now. Sure, their ancestors could’ve survived on their own, but progress would’ve been much, much slower. Most Ceresthalassa clan members would be happy to see the world make so much progress with the help…but when is too much, indeed, too much? Which is exactly the reason why Doris, the current CL, experiences a complete attitude change and now absolutely hates specificaly modern humans and wish she had never helped them in the first place. And for a good reason, which I will explain very soon.
Regarding the Ceresthalassa’s place in canon. Jumping back to PL’s reign, Zephyrus Volo and Leona Pyradros were on a mission that required them to leave Lukedonia, so that explains their absence in the canon storyline. What about the Ceresthalassa? Well, unlike those two, Doris was very much in Lukedonia the whole time. And maybe outside of it too, when she had personal errands to run. Whether it was inside or outside of Lukedonia, her job was basically endless. She was just super, super busy with her clan and other things she had to do, so she never showed up… like at all. Inside Lukedonia? Didn’t mingle with the other nobles much, or at all. Outside of Lukedonia? Probably so focused on doing things for planet earth to the point where she didn’t really pay attention to anything else either. Simple as that. And after her daughter Marina was born and grew up, the two of them were then super, super busy together. Lots of nature related work, so much they just didn’t have time for anything else. Even in present day Millennium AU, when the Ceresthalassa’s deal has become a bit more relaxed, they still aren’t seen around as often as the other nobles.
Before I get to the character introductions, let me introduce their fighting style and soul weapon first!
The Ceresthalassa Clan is mostly known for their affinity to nature, but they’re very good at combat too. By training day and night to push the upper limits of their stamina for nature related spells, they’re also indirectly perfecting themselves for battles that last for long durations. They’re basically super hardy, for as long as they don’t accumulate injuries. For the ones who like to fight and specifically train extra to become fighters, their advantage is even more obvious. Members specialize in both close range and long range combat, and can do the usual hand-to-hand fighting and aura/energy beam blasts etc. though their basic combat moves are almost always accompanied with some type of nature manipulation. If they’re fighting on land, they shift the ground around them. If they’re fighting on sea, they command the waves to assist them. No matter where they are, as long as their energy remains, they will always be in some sort of advantage. The best way to win against a Ceresthalassa is to somehow drag out the fight and eventually tire them out by forcing them to continuously use their bigger, heavier nature spells, because most of them are, by reflex, inclined to do so.
Soul Weapon: Eulises. A trident. The main body consists of the general color scheme of black and gold, and the symmetrical pattern on the head of the spear is that of grain stalks. Eulises’ wielder can use it as a general weapon to pierce, stab, cut, and even deliver blunt blows to enemies. It can also be used to summon stronger weather/nature spells. The top tier spells actually require Eulises in order to be activated. Eulises’ power grows when it is closer to the sea. Its ultimate skill consists of a powerful attack in which the concentrated aura it releases manifests into a colossal sea monster with tentacles, which parallels their clan symbol, the Kraken.
Doris Ceresthalassa: the current Clan Leader. A visibly older woman with prominent wrinkles on her face and hands. Hair has a lot of volume to it and looks like a giant bundle of seaweed, haha. Looks like she’s grumpy not because her resting face is simply like that, but because she actually is frowning. Constantly very worried about the state of her beloved planet Earth, and absolutely despises the other intelligent species (humans especially) because they’re literally destroying the home she loves so dearly. Her ancestors and predecessors could’ve ignored them and just let them perish. They gave them food and shelter and now this is how they choose to repay the goodwill? By cutting down forests, burning things and driving other species to extinction? By filling land with mountains after mountains of trash, and then dumping them into the oceans when there’s no more room? By infiltrating the lungs and gills of every living creature and making them suffer in misery with harmful chemicals and particles? If she knew how to time travel, she would’ve gone back in time to her ancestors and told them to just. Leave the other intelligent species alone and let them die because they’re not worth helping. Ungrateful, malicious, toxic, greedy, insatiable humans who will not stop destroying the planet to achieve their goals of what they call it, again? Glory? Riches? Fame? Shallow beings who deserve to be annihilated from the planet because their ambition is leading the world to its doom.
Doris doesn’t care about modern humans, they could die off to some mysterious cause and she wouldn’t even bat an eyelid. Maybe she even hopes that they’d suddenly die off, so the pollution and destruction of nature would stop. But Doris is generally nonviolent in temperament and is against genocide, and she won’t actually go and eliminate the humans. She just keeps imagining scenes in her head where she chokes her ancestor who started it all while screaming to his face “Don’t you dare to even think about helping them!!!”. Unfortunately that’s not an option, so. Rip. Best she can do is disguise herself as a human, and go around the world, get herself into seats of power, to pass laws and enforce measures to stop and maybe even reverse some of that pollution and damage. She probably has like 72 human identities. And she’s not doing this because she likes humans, in fact she hates them so much she hates that she has to disguise herself as one. But anything for the planet. She’s trying really hard to adapt to the modern world. Other than that, she sometimes goes under the sea and personally removes plastics from turtles’ necks and junk from creatures’ stomachs. Doris would really like a day off, but there’s just so many damn things that need her to take care of. Someone give this woman a break.
Marina Ceresthalassa: the clan’s heir, Doris’ only child, and Claudia Tradio’s younger half-sister. Yes, her father is… Lagus Tradio! (Surprise surprise. To this day neither Marina nor her older half-sister Claudia know the exact relationship between Doris and Lagus. The sisters suspect that those two could’ve been more than just friends because clearly they were close enough for Lagus to give Doris his soul fragment. Doris refuses to elaborate when asked though, so they will never know. Maybe she’ll give in and talk about one day. Who knows. Anyways) A charismatic and upbeat woman with an adorable, angelic face. Styles her hair in braids and golden hoops similar to how Claudia wears hers because she admires big sister. When Lagus betrayed Lukedonia, Marina was one of the only people who regularly visited Claudia.
In general, Marina agrees with her mother Doris when it comes to other intelligent species such as humans. They indeed don’t deserve to be helped because all the goodwill and aid they got from the Ceresthalassa, which they used to advance their own society, is getting “repaid” with nothing but disaster. Chemicals, trash, extinction, climate change, etc… not only are humans ungrateful, they also just don’t know when to stop for everyone’s good and even their own good, eh? Well, bad news for them, Marina isn’t all nice and nonviolent like her mother. In fact, Marina’s quite aggressive. Unlike her mother, who passively cleans up after the planet, Marina will show the humans the consequences of their own actions. She’ll give them a taste of their own medicine. So what Marina does is she purposely causes storms, floods, droughts, etc. Instruct plants and crops to hibernate. Don’t grow. Stay low until I say so. Let those parasitic humans starve. One of the things Marina does the most often is she’d collect trash from the bottom of the ocean floor, cause a tsunami filled with said trash, and dump aaaallll of it back onto the humans and their living spaces. Just simply giving them their shit back, like they deserve. She’d also destroy human underwater infrastructure when sea creatures report feeling disturbed in their own homes. She’d also tip over boats, and even sink them. And the humans won’t think too much, they’d just wonder why things keep malfunctioning. Unlike Doris, Marina is dangerous because she is willing to eliminate humans for the wellbeing of nature. But she doesn’t want to upset her mother, so the two of them have an agreement: give the humans a chance, a time frame. Until then, don’t eliminate them. But if they still don’t listen and time is up, then Doris will allow Marina to fully unleash herself, and let her give the humans a taste of the wrath of nature.
In her free time, Marina is a music conductor. She has her own orchestra and choir, and is in charge of Lukedonia’s grand concert hall. Sometimes her audience would get super weirded out when a sea monster casually walks on stage, seats itself among the other noble performers, and then proceed to play the violin like it’s just another day. Marina would just laugh when questioned and say “we were one performer short, so I invited one of my buddies from the waters” and then mention how her Kraken friend would even be willing to give out autographs after the concert ends.
P.s. both Claudia and Marina aren’t too much older than the current generation of Clan Leaders, aka Raskreia’s generation. There’s also some flexibility here and there but I’m inclined to headcanon that Lagus kinda just had Claudia super late. Same deal with Doris and her kid Marina.
That’s it for this time!! I love them and hopefully will have time to draw them again. See you later!

(Diamond and pearl, blessed by space and time)
cleaned up my designs for the dragon!leaders au a bit! I think Irida is quick on her feet, slippery and otter-like, whereas Adaman is a lot more wolfish. Still thinking about what animals I’d use as a base for the legendaries, especially giratina.
Also, because the idea has completely taken over my life, there might be a fic for this coming out later this month. I’ll have other work to stay focused on too, but you never know :)

Truly Home Chapter Two: A Fond Farewell

FanFiction.Net Link
Previous Chapter
Next Chapter
So yay! I managed to finish editing the second chapter within a week after posting the first. I got a HUGE boost in motivation from last week's upload. I also have chapters 3 and 4 ready for the following weeks, so stay tuned for that :D
Enjoy :D
The dawn’s light poured through the window of Akari’s quarters. Starly chirped outside, hoping to catch the early Wurmple. Akari rubbed the sleep sand from her eyelashes as her eyes flickered open. Taking in the morning sunlight, she stretched her arms high in the air as she sat herself up. Electra was still on top of Akari, now sleeping on her lap. Akari smiled as she stroked Electra’s fluffy mane, waking the Luxray up.
Buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz
Akari reached for her arc phone beside her mat, the device she had when she first woke up in Hisui. The mysterious gadget that Arceus had been using to guide her through Hisui.
Upon peaking at the phone’s screen, Akari noticed a new message from Arceus.
Should thou wish to return, meet me in the Hall of Origin.
Dropping the phone on its face, Akari remembered everything that happened last night. All of the thoughts, all of the ideas, all of the images. She stood up as the anxiety shoved away all of her grogginess. Electra arched her back before following Akari as she went to slip on her sandals. Perhaps a morning stroll around the village would make her feel better.
A refreshing morning breeze greeted Akari as she opened the door. The village was quiet and empty, hardly anyone was awake during this hour. The dirt crunched beneath her feet as she headed toward the river. The calming trickle of flowing water and warmth of the rising sun somewhat relieved Akari of her stress.
Akari walked onto the bridge connecting the village pastures with the front gate leading to the fieldlands. She hunched onto the railing, and stared into the river. The water’s movement, the sun’s shimmer, the perfectly aligned trees planted near the river, the smoke rising from the building's chimneys, her silhouette-like reflection gazing back at her from the river. The wind lifted her ponytail as she tried to find one specific thing to focus on.
“Should thou wish to return, meet me in the Hall of Origin.”
That message wouldn’t get out of Akari’s head. It kept repeating and repeating in Arceus’s echoey voice. Letting the urge win, Akari took her eyes off the scenery and pulled her phone out of her pocket. She stared intensely into the small screen, scanning the sentence several times over.
Guess this means I can return so… Akari’s chest tightened as her heart sped up. I…I have to go back! I can’t let whoever I left behind spend another day worrying about me like this!
Akari glanced over at the village pastures. She could see all of her other Pokemon scattered around in their respective sleeping positions: Mesa coiled up, Strawberry with her paws tucked beneath her head, Nixie and Solaris curled up on their stomachs, Nautilus tucked inside her shell (something Akari found to be absolutely adorable). Jolly Dime was as still as an inanimate object, Poppy was nestled into a patch of yellow flowers, Acacia had her limbs spread flat and snout wide open, and Professor Laventon was leaning against a pile of hay, fast asleep.
“Wait a minute…” said Akari.
She and Electra jogged into the pasture. Laventon appeared to have completely passed out with a notebook wide open on his lap. His hat and coat now had pieces of hay stuck all over them. Akari quietly giggled at the sight as she knelt down.
“Laventon…” Akari whispered, giving him a gentle nudge on the shoulder. Laventon moaned as his eyes cracked open.
“Akari?” he asked, yawning. His eyes widened as he suddenly realized where he was. “Oh blast and bother, did I fall asleep here again?!”
“I believe so, Professor,” Akari answered as Electra nodded. She wondered how many times this has happened before.
“Well, this is embarrassing!” Laventon chuckled as he stood up and brushed the dirt and hay off his clothes. He took a quick peek at the village before looking back at Akari. “I see that you’re up early, my girl. Did you sleep well?”
“I guess so.” Akari gave Electra a quick pat on the head. She watched as Electra scampered over to Mesa, nuzzling her as she awoke. “Laventon…”
“Yes, my dear?”
“About our conversation yesterday…” Her face dropped as she held out her arc phone. “I just got a message from Arceus about it…”
“Oho? What did they say?” Laventon asked.
“They said…” Akari started, opening the message. “‘Should thou wish to return, meet me in the Hall of Origin’…”
“I see,” said Laventon. He smiled as he crossed his arms. “Well that gives us some answers. Now we know for sure that you can go back.”
“And I’ve decided…” Akari closed her eyes as she squeezed the next words out. “That I’m going back today.”
Laventon’s eyes widened. Electra dashed back to Akari, rousing Strawberry and Nixie in the process.
“Oh, Akari!” Laventon exclaimed. “Are…are you really sure about this?!”
Akari sighed as her Pokemon started to surround her. Nautilus popped from her shell while Jolly Dime and Poppy both became airborne. Embers were sparking from Solaris’s neck.
“Yes,” Akari answered. “You said you would support me.”
“I…I did but…” Laventon inhaled as he stared down at the dusty ground. “Do you not want a bit more time to decide on this? And are you really sure you want to go back to a place you don’t remember?”
“I’m sure,” said Akari. “I’m sorry. I’d stay here longer, but…” Her sweaty hand clenched a piece of her shirt as her pulse raced. “I…I can’t. I have to go now!”
“Why is that?”
“Because…” Akari started, holding her arms tightly. “Whoever and wherever my family is, they’re probably worried sick about me. I’ve been gone for months and…” Akari paused as she heard the sound of ecstatic children. She looked over to see a few small kids chasing each other around the village. A mother half-asleep, but smiling, slowly trailed behind them. “I want to see them again too…”
As she continued to watch the children play, Akari felt Laventon’s hand rest on her shoulder.
“Akari I…” he started. “I understand…” He exhaled before continuing. “I knew this day would eventually come. You have folks waiting for you, don’t you? Then I’ll do what I can to help you get to them.”
Akari smiled as she let out a breath of relief.
“Thank you,” she murmured. “Thank you for understanding me.” Laventon perked up as he walked over to Akari’s side.
“Come on now! When have I not understood you, my girl? Was I not the one who took you in after you fell out of the sky wearing the most unconventional clothing? Now, let’s go head to the Galaxy Hall. I’ll help you explain everything to our captain!”
***
“I see…” Captain Cyllene sat upright at her desk piled with papers, her face emotionless as usual. Her office was filled with books and files containing mounts of Pokemon data that Akari and the other survey corps members had gathered. It was where Akari officially got accepted into the Galaxy Team after completing her trial, just one day after she fell into Hisui. It was where she and Laventon would go to report their progress on the Pokedex. “You, our top survey corps member, now want to leave the Galaxy Team and depart the village forever?”
Akari nodded. “Yes, Captain.”
“You’re going to abandon your job to go back to a place you don’t even know?” Cyllene asked.
“Yes,” answered Akari.
“You’re ready to leave behind everyone and everything you care about here?”
“Yes.”
“And what makes you think this is the best thing to do?”
Akari looked away from the captain, staring into Laventon’s office through the doorway on her left. Laventon’s Hisuian Samurott, whom Akari helped evolve, was fast asleep on the sofa. It was a comfortable couch for sure, Akari had passed out on it a few times herself. She remembered that one time she went into the office late at night feeling unwell, hoping a cup of tea would remedy her pain at least a little bit. Exhausted, lightheaded, and waiting for the kettle water to boil, Akari collapsed onto the sofa, which ended up being the last thing she remembered that night. She woke up the next morning under a warm quilt, her cup of tea sitting on the table in front.
“Because it’s her home!”
Laventon, standing by Akari’s side, stepped forward.  “Captain, I know this is hard, but we need to let Akari go. She may not remember her past, but that doesn’t mean her past doesn’t remember her.” Laventon took a loud sniffle before continuing. “Think about it, there could be people tearing their entire region apart looking for our dear friend.”
Cyllene closed her eyes as the office fell silent. Akari could feel her heart pounding through her chest as she once again imagined her family. Her poor parents bulldozing everything in their search. Her friends mourning as they’d hang without her. Her sad Pokemon sitting in front of the door to her house, waiting for their trainer to come back.
“...Very well…”
The captain opened her eyes as she turned her head to Akari. “It’ll be a shame to see one of our top survey corps members leave us. It would’ve been foolish of us to think that you’d be a permanent resident of our organization. You have a life ahead of you that is far beyond the reach of anyone else here.” Akari nodded as a few rocks of weight slipped off of her.
“Thank you, Captain,” sighed Laventon, taking a few breaths. “Akari deserves to go back to her real home. To be reunited with her real family.” His voice was hoarse and cracking, like it was falling apart with each word.
“Akari, we are all very grateful for the work you have done for us. We’d all be a mess right now if the sky hadn’t spit you into our village. You will always be a member of the Galaxy Team and Jubilife Village in our hearts, no matter how far away in time and space you may be. Don’t forget all that you are worth to the land of Hisui and its future,” said Cyllene.
“Thank you!” said Akari, blushing.
Laventon blew his nose into a handkerchief. “That speech was so touching, Cyllene! I couldn’t agree more!” he exclaimed, sniffling. “Now how should we give Akari a jolly proper send off?”
“As rising commander, I shall summon the leaders and wardens of the Diamond and Pearl clans immediately. We’ll hold a ceremony to celebrate everything that Akari has accomplished here.”
Butterflies fluttered through Akari’s stomach at the thought of seeing her friends one last time. How were they going to react to such news?
"Akari, you may now go back to your quarters to prepare yourself and pack everything you want to take with you.” Cyllene looked over at Laventon, who was fidgeting and scratching his sweaty palms. “Professor, if you don’t mind, could I keep you here for a few more minutes? There’s something I would like to discuss with you one-on-one.”
“O-of course, Captain!” He wiped his face with his sleeve before turning to Akari with a cracked smile. “Go on, my girl. I’ll see you when you’re on your way!”
And with that, Akari was off to get ready to leave Jubilife Village for the last time.
***
Akari had shoved everything she could in her small satchel. Her phone, her flute, berries and potions just in case, and all of her Pokemon, who were comfortably secured in their poke balls. She wore the same “unusual” white T-shirt she had on when she first arrived in Hisui. It only made sense that she would go home wearing the same clothes she had on when she left. Akari then put on her azalea-pink snow jacket she usually wore when surveying in the Alabaster Icelands. She had also donned her indigo snow pants and purple-rimmed boots. The frigid temperatures at the top of Mt. Coronet were no laughing matter, as Akari had learned that the hard way the first time she went up there.
Akari took one final look at the room she had been living in for the past several months. Everything was in the same place as the day she had first arrived. The sleeping mat with rustled sheets and the blanket folded over in half, the carved wooden clefairy doll sitting on the window sill, the hearth creaking and groaning in the room’s center as it emanated blasting heat, which kept the room warm even on the coldest winter days. It felt like only yesterday when Akari was first shown the room, back when she was a lost and terrified girl with no idea of where or who she even was. Akari hoped that its next occupant would find as much comfort here as she did.
The sounds of chatter floated in from outside the front window. More and more shadows of people began to cast through the windows, projecting onto the room’s walls and floor. As Akari walked to the door, a Poke Ball slipped from her overflowing bag.
“Mrow mrow?”
Akari jumped in surprise as her beloved Luxray stood in the room. Her golden eyes and enlarged pupils stared directly at her. Akari couldn’t help, but look out the window behind her. The small snapshot of all the nature she was about to leave. Akari snapped her focus away from it as she knelt down to pet Electra.
“It’s okay,” she whispered, rubbing Electra’s snout. “It will all be okay.”
As Akari returned Electra to her Poke Ball and stuffed it back in her satchel, shadows from outside continued to gather and loom over her. She knew that it was time. She placed her shaky hands on the doors, took a deep breath, then slowly pushed them open.
“AKARI!!!”
Several simultaneous shouts bombarded Akari as she stepped onto Floaro Main Street.  The leader and wardens of the Diamond clan were all gathered in front of Arezu’s Hairdresser, while the Pearl Clan were over by Anthe’s clothier. Adaman and Irida, the leaders of the two clans, were the first to run up to Akari.
“We heard it all from your captain!” exclaimed Adaman, the leader of the Diamond Clan.
“You’re leaving us?!” cried Irida, the leader of the Pearl Clan.
“And gave us almost no time to prepare for this?!” added Adaman.
Akari froze in silence as her friends gathered around her, sweating pouring down her face. She stared at the dusty ground with her jaws and fists clenched, hastily trying to load up a response. Wanting to take her coat off in the heat, Akari slowly opened her mouth.
“Y-yes,” she answered, still looking down. “I-I have to go back… Back to where I came from… Where I truly belong…”
Akari finally managed to lift her head and look up at the two leaders, though still avoided eye contact (something she was never that comfortable with anyway).
“I’m really sorry for how sudden this is, but…” Akari felt her stomach pinch itself. “I-I don’t belong here. I never did. I’m only here because Arceus sent me on a mission. A mission that I have already completed.” Small tears began to emerge out of Akari’s eyes. “I don’t have a purpose here anymore. So I can’t stay. Especially when there could be people looking for me wherever or whenever I’m from. I’m sorry…”
Silence captured the next moment as the words sank through. Irida then walked over to Akari, gently putting a hand on her shoulder.
“Oh Akari! You’ve been such a good friend to have in this space,” said Irida.
“But I understand,” said Adaman.
“You really do?” asked Akari.
“Of course! I’d definitely be worried timelessly if any of my fellow clan members suddenly vanished. Only Dialga knows how long I would spend looking for them!” ensured Adaman.
“Awwww! I knew you would do that for me!” said Melli, walking up toward Adaman from behind. “Akari, I hope you don’t ever forget just how awesome the great Melli is!”
“Melli, how many times do I have to remind you that this world does not revolve around you?” moaned Adaman, facepalming. He shook his head. “But Akari, we really do appreciate everything you’ve done for us! You were just a lost kid who fell out of the sky and then you quelled all of our frenzied nobles, stopped the red sky disaster, and even discovered what Almighty Sinnoh truly was! You truly are a legend that will never be forgotten, no matter how much time passes!”
“Adaman…” cried Akari, blushing.
“Never thought I’d agree with something Adaman says, but here we are! Akari, we really are thankful that the rift decided to throw you at us! I know that things haven't always been easy for you during your stay—far from it, in fact. The fact that you still went out of your way to help everyone speaks volumes to just how awesome of a person you are, Akari! We’re all truly honored to have you as a friend!” said Irida.
“Irida… You guys…” Akari found herself shedding a tear as she embraced both leaders in a group hug. Adaman and Irida both gave Akari pats on the backs. “Don’t think I could have done it without you two! I will forever be grateful that you helped me after I got exiled. Even after the commander threatened you…” Akari sniffled as she let go of her friends and stepped back. “Thank you!”
“Of course, Akari!” Adaman then bent down to whisper to Akari. “And just between you and me, you know you liked the Diamond Clan better!”
“I heard that!” said Irida, crossing her arms and giving Adaman a look.
“Hey, she did choose me to accompany her on the lakes mission!” said Adaman.
“But then she got to see my Palkia in its true form!” argued Irida.
“With my Dialga protecting her!” countered Adaman. Akari chuckled as she watched the two bicker like always.
“Well, I think it’s about time I get going!” said Akari, turning toward the direction of the south gate. “Goodbye, Adaman! Goodbye, Irida! Goodbye to all of you! I’m really going to miss you all!” Akari smiled as she waved to the clans.
“We’ll miss you too! Goodbye, Akari!” Adaman and Irida shouted as they both waved back at her. The wardens of their respective clans also joined in waving Akari farewell.
“If you ever have a bad hair day, you know who to call! I’d go all the way to your world for someone like you, Akari!” Arezu called out.
“Thank you so much for helping my dear Arcanine find his place as the Lord of the Isles. He and I truly wish you the best of luck!” said Palina.
“Your bravery has really inspired me to slowly overcome my own fears, especially of those grim ghost Pokemon! I hope you remember that!” said Iscan.
“Take care, Akari! I’ve always had a blast watching you take on those massive mass outbreaks! Munchlax will surely miss you giving him all the Aguav berries!” said Mai.
Akari smiled as she walked toward the gate, overwhelmed by all the love and gratitude being showered upon her.
“Akari!” called Rei, running up to her and hugging her. “The Professor told me everything! Is this really the last time I’ll be seeing you?!”
Akari frowned.“Most likely so. Not sure if I’ll ever be able to come back,” she sighed. Poppy suddenly took off and flew down the street toward the Galaxy Hall.
“Oh, Akari!” cried Rei, squeezing tighter. “I’m really going to miss you! You’ve been like a sister to me!” He sniffled, let go of Akari, and wiped his face with his sleeve. He then managed to put on a smile. “But I know that you have folks waiting for you at your home. And I know that you’ve probably been itching to see them again. Which is why I will watch you go with a smile!”
“Thank you, Rei!” said Akari, smiling and feeling warm inside. Something suddenly swooped down in front of the gate. Akari and Rei turned to see a Hisuian Braviary flying close to the ground. He carried a glider basket with his talons, and Sabi dangled from the handle bar. She then let go and landed on her feet with her arms spread wide like a bird.
“Braviary’s ready to go whenever you are!” Sabi said enthusiastically. She skipped to the side to make way for Akari.
I guess this is it! thought Akari. She took one step forward, suddenly struck with a nagging feeling that she was forgetting something important.
“AKARI, WAAAIT!!!”
Akari turned around to see someone blitzing through the crowd on Floaro Main Street. Sure enough, it was Professor Laventon, who appeared to be drenched with sweat as he got closer. Laventon stopped in front of Akari to pant for a few seconds. His cheeks appeared wet and the whites of his eyes had turned pinkish red. He then put his hands on Akari’s shoulders.
“You weren’t about to leave without saying goodbye to your dear professor now, were you?” Laventon said, still trying to catch his breath.
“Of course not!” answered Akari. Laventon smiled.
“I knew you wouldn’t, my girl!” He sniffled and vented out a big exhale before looking back at Akari. “Akari, I just want you to know that… when I first found you laying on that beach… Well, I thought I was going to have to report a body that day! I was jolly certain that that day would go down in my records as one of the worst and weirdest days of my life! However, not only were you perfectly alive and unharmed, but ever since that day, I’ve had the greatest pleasure and honor of watching you grow into who you are now!” Laventon took another breath before continuing. “I mean, look at you! You went from a lone, lost girl who barely knew anything about the world to such an amazing, strong, capable young woman!” Tears streamed down Laventon’s face as he looked at Akari with pride. “I’m so proud of you, my girl!”
Akari’s eyes shimmered as she jumped into Laventon’s arms. He happily embraced her as they both sobbed. Through her tears, Akari could see that the people around them were also getting misty-eyed.
“Thank you, Laventon!” cried Akari, still hugging him tightly. “You helped me on my feet when I had nowhere to go! It was all thanks to you that I even survived in the first place!”
“Oh, Akari! Taking you in was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Whoever your family may be, they’re jolly blessed to have a daughter like you!” Laventon cried. “Take care of yourself and live a jolly good life, alright? We’ll be thinking about you every day! And don’t ever forget who you are!”
Akari’s eyes sparkled as a stream of warmth ran through her whole body.
“I jolly won’t, Professor!” she said, looking at Laventon with confidence. Laventon wheezed as he wiped his face with his sleeve.
“That’s my girl!”
As Laventon let her go, Akari took one last look at Jubilife Village and all its people.
“Goodbye, everyone! Thank you for everything!”
Akari crawled into Braviary’s basket. She secured herself, grabbed onto the handlebar, and looked up at Braviary and nodded. The cool wind fanned on her as Braviary flapped his wings.
“To the Temple of Sinnoh!” commanded Akari, pointing to Mt. Coronet.
“Squawk!”
Akari looked back to see Jubilife Village getting smaller and smaller as she ascended. Almost everyone she had ever known slowly turned into ant-like figures waving at her. She turned her head forward to see that she was flying over the Obsidian Fieldlands: The grass, the trees, the hills, the lakes, the rivers. When Akari first set foot in that vast patch of wilderness, it was strange and new to her. Now, she knew that place like her own backyard!
On the other side of the mountain range east of the fieldlands, Akari could see the red soil of the crimson mirelands. The bogs and swamps reduced to simple splotches of brown from her point of view. Just beyond the mirelands, Akari caught a brief glimpse of the beach of Cobalt Coastlands. The calming blueness of the water perfectly reflected the sky. Akari realized that the weather wasn’t too different from the day she first arrived in Hisui: A few popcorn clouds here and there, but otherwise clear weather with almost zero wind. Perfect conditions for Akari to drop from the sky. As Braviary approached the top of Mt. Coronet, Akari caught one final view of the Alabaster Icelands, the snowy mountains glaring at her with a blinding pure white.
The cold breeze on Mt. Coronet blew into her face as Braviary approached her destination. Braviary swooped into a touchdown as Akari’s basket touched the ground. Braviary folded his wings as he looked down at Akari. Akari crawled out of the basket onto the cold hard floor of what was left of the Temple of Sinnoh. The temple on the top of the mountain that Palkia destroyed before Akari’s very eyes, as it transformed into its origin form. Akari stood up and turned to Braviary.
“Thank you for all of your service,” she whispered, stroking Braviary’s head feathers.
“Squawk!” Braviary looked at Akari fondly before taking off and flying away.
Everything was silent on the summit of Mt. Coronet. There were no people, no Pokemon, not even plants with rustling leaves. Just rocks, snow, and a ruined temple. Akari took one final look at the world beneath her. The world she had spent months exploring, the world she helped to save, the world as it was many years before she was even born. Akari hoped to learn that it had a positive future ahead of it after she got home.
Akari dug into her satchel and pulled out her azure flute. The flute that looked like a purple piece of coral with a red blowing hole. Akari took a big, long breath before blowing into the instrument, playing the eerie tune that Irida had taught her.
A big, blue light shined in front of Akari. She watched as the radiating blue light turned into a giant glowing staircase, ascending right up into the sky. Akari sighed as she set her foot on the first step, soon climbing the stairs to make her way to where Arceus rested. Her surroundings darkened as she reached the top, as if Akari was climbing right up into outer space. Until finally, Akari reached the big, blue platform, dazzling under a dark purple ceiling of stars and glowing like an aurora. She had reached the Hall of Origin.
“Arceus!” called Akari, walking toward the center of the platform.
Specks of yellow light appeared on all sides of the room. They swirled into a giant sphere right in front of Akari. The light then exploded and dispersed as Arceus appeared, towering over Akari with their white quadruped body and a barbed golden wheel around its abdomen.
“Arceus…” said Akari. “I’m ready! I’m ready to go home!”
Arceus stood silent, their jutted mane and tail gently swaying around in the air. Their red and green eyes gazed sharply into Akari, making her skin erupt in goosebumps. Her heart raced as she stood in front of the holy being, waiting to hear their answer. The knot in her stomach grew tighter and tighter with each passing second of anticipation. Not wanting to be in this endless staredown, Akari broke the silence.
“You told me to come here if I wanted to return home,” she said, fishing her phone out of her satchel. She opened the message and held it out to Arceus. “See?”
“Thou is correct,” Arceus answered, their deep voice echoing throughout the chamber. “I can indeed send thou back to the time and space from which thy came. But…”
“But what?”
“Are…. are thy sure about this?”
Akari looked around as her mind raced. She thought about everything that she was about to leave behind. Everyone she knew, everywhere she’d been. All of it was about to be gone in the blink of an eye, becoming nothing more than a fragment of the long gone past. But then the thought of her distraught family in the future took over. The thought that she was finally about to see them again. It was without a doubt, more than a fair trade.
“Yes!” Akari answered firmly. “I want to see my family again!”
Arceus quietly looked away from Akari and stood completely still for the next moment. She thought she heard them mumble something, but couldn’t pick up any of the words. They turned back to her, expressionless.
“Very well,” said Arceus. “Do thou have everything thy need?”
Akari peered into her bag of items. A feeling of uneasiness ran down her spine as all of her Pokémon’s Poke Balls rolled around, barely fitting in the cramped space. Memories of catching all of these Pokémon flashed through Akari’s mind, being able to pinpoint where on the map she first met each of them. Some were from the fieldlands, some came from the mirelands, some hailed from the highlands of the very mountain beneath her. Unlike Akari, they were all from this time period. The time she was about to leave forever.
Taking a deep breath, Akari grabbed the Poké Balls out of her back and tossed them onto the platform. The Pokémon were unleashed one by one, soon all standing by her side.
“I’m sorry,” sighed Akari, zipping her satchel shut. “You all have to stay here.”
The Pokémon’s eyes all widened as they surrounded Akari, nearly knocking her over. She looked at the nine Pokemon she had grown so fond of. Solaris, the Hisuian Typhlosion who was there for her from the very beginning. Nixie, the ambitious Floatzel who was willing to challenge any opponent, even those she had a massive disadvantage against. Jolly Dime, Akari’s first shiny and the Pokemon that ignited Akari’s blazing passion for shiny hunting. Strawberry, the shiny Skuntank who got along so well with her teammates. Nautilus, the Hisuian Goodra who was there for hugs whenever someone was down. Acacia, the quiet yet tough Hippowdon who came through in difficult fights. Poppy, the silly little Beautifly that loved to steal flowers from all the villagers. Mesa, the shiny Steelix that had helped Akari countless times throughout her adventures. And Electra, the Luxray that Akari had first met as a wild Shinx that she needed to catch in order to join the Survey Corps. She was told that it had an aggressive deposition, yet couldn’t help but notice that the Shinx was as lonely as she was in that moment. So Akari approached the little Pokemon without fear and caught her with Solaris’s help. And then she gently carried that Shinx in her arms when going back to report her success, bewildering almost everyone that saw her. Laventon even had a photo capturing that moment framed in his office.
“Mrrow?” Electra scampered over to Akari and looked at her with pleading eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Akari murmured. She crouched down and stroked Electra’s fur. “It’s what’s best for you guys.”
“Mrow?!” Electra’s ears and mane sagged as she shook her head. She then put her paws on Akari’s shoulders before hugging her. Akari held her tight as tears squeezed out her eyes. Her other Pokemon gathered around to join the hug, soon burying Akari beneath them.
“I’ll be fine,” Akari said, standing up. “You guys can go to the Summit Camp. There should be some security corps members who can help escort you back to Jubilife. Laventon will take great care of you all, right Solaris?” Akari looked over at her Hisuian Typhlosion.
“Raaaah!” Solaris nodded.
“Thank you for everything,” Akari whispered. With that, Akari turned away and walked toward Arceus. “I’m ready now.”
Akari suddenly felt… lighter. Orbs of yellow light enveloped her as her body began to glow. The light reflected in the Pokemon’s misty eyes as they saw what was happening to their dear trainer. Akari noticed that Arceus had turned their head away from her, like they didn’t want to watch what was happening.
The light brightened as it lifted Akari upward into the black sky. Electra scampered right underneath where she was, looking up with big eyes full of bitter tears. The Luxray stood on her hind legs, desperately pawing at the rising particles of light.
“Meoooow!”
Electra’s cry was soft, yet it could be heard throughout the whole chamber. It was the kind of cry she made whenever she wanted something, whether it was food, potions, or cuddles. Only this time it was much more sorrowful. A cry that was clearly pleading for Akari to come back down.
That was the last thing Akari heard before her consciousness faded away.
