STOP KOSA "KIDS ONLINE SAFETY ACT", THE MASSIVE ONLINE CENSORSHIP BILL
"there will be no room to call for a free palestine, congo, sudan, or yemen when imperialists control what stays on the internet. there will be no room for sharing queer joy, safe binding and tucking guides, or tutorials on how to safely navigate kink when queerphobes and puritans decide what kinda of relationships and identities are "acceptable". there will be no room for anticapitalism, protest organizing, pirating, or sharing anti-establishment resources when the establishment can erase whatever ideas are too threatening to them to stay. there will be no room for those who do not or can not conform.
the government will now have access to protest organizer's information (and your information), including their full name and home address.
the bill will largely target: TRANS AND QUEER CONTENT LGBTQ+ adults and minors seeking help and community, people looking for abortions, people organizing protests, anyone using their free speech to voice concerns about injustices, fan artists people reading fan fiction people sharing and enjoying their k1nks and smut (in art or writing), wanting to post things with safety and privacy
By the time you read this, the Senate might have already passed the bill into the House (feb 26th), but we still have time. MAKE NOISE.

1. Getting better through practice
Sorry if this sounds cliche, but it's true. It takes a lot of practice to become an expert at nail art.
Uninterrupted and focused practice is crucial to developing your skills, whether you're practicing on friends, family, yourself, or some extra suggestions.
Don't be afraid to fail as long as you don't have any paying customers!
With this time, you have the opportunity to correct any mistakes you make, start over several times, and pay close attention to the techniques you are working on.
2. Experiment
Make careful to attempt new things when you're practicing your nail art!
Instead of sticking to what you are familiar with, try experimenting with other colors, techniques, textures, and materials to help you venture beyond of your comfort zone.
This will undoubtedly be useful when you encounter consumers that demand outrageous nail art and will also help you feel more confident.
Tumblr media

There is always a path you haven't taken yet that will enable you to advance your abilities.
5. Supplies

have any of the org members learned any new skills while in quarantine? like knitting, sewing, art, have they been reading more, writing poetry?
y’all i taught myself how to knit and i’m in the process of teaching myself sign language, i have literally gone from being productive to not being productive to being more productive than i’ve ever been in my life
also What day of quarantine are you guys on? I’m on day 55
-
Xemnas - has been teaching himself a bunch of new languages, particularly Russian and Italian - he’s also been reviewing and polishing up his French
Xigbar - has been doing a lot of target practice, but he’s been listening to audiobooks while he’s doing it
Xaldin - has taken up carpentry? he’s built about eight bird houses and he’s started to move into furniture
Vexen - has caught up on a few new experiments and read a few books that he’s been putting off, and he’s also managed to do a lot of cleaning, which involves the harsh task of getting rid of a lot of shit that he’s been hoarding
Lexaeus - he’s knit a total of four scarves, a set of gloves, a tea cozy, and two baby blankets
Zexion - zexion has dabbled in a little bit of everything because he gets bored easily. he’s tried a few new books, some experiments, exercising, different types of artwork, he’s gotten Lexaeus trying to teach him to knit, etc.
Saix - hasn’t really taught himself any new skills, but he has ABSOLUTELY caught up on so much work, his office is the cleanest and most organized that it’s ever been
Axel -  he’s been teaching himself a lot of new card tricks and like sleight of hand magic
Demyx - demyx has gone through a grand total of about eight coloring books. he’s been watching a lot of online tutorials and he’s gotten pretty good at sketching?
Luxord - luxord is the dorky one who’s been writing poetry, but it’s ALL kinds. Limericks, blank verse, rhyming poems, haiku’s, sonnets, etc.
Marluxia - Art (he’s been watching a lot of Bob Ross)
Larxene - has also been working on target practice, but in her spare time she’s been doing some yoga
Roxas - he’s teaching himself to cook! (under supervision)
Xion - cross-stitching!!! usually hangs out in the kitchen to make sure that Roxas isn’t blowing things up while he’s cooking

surveys by -thoughtlessdork
Have you ever had the chicken pox? No. I’m constantly in a place of waiting for it to pass by, because everyone tells me all people are bound to have it at one point in their lives (idk how true that is, though). I am also told it gets a lot suckier as one gets older, so...not too thrilled about it at all.
how often do you do laundry? I don’t handle that chore myself, but it’s done 1–2 times a week in our house.
Have you ever been evicted? Nopes.
would you grow your own garden? I don’t see that happening. I’m a magnet for killing plants.
do you know anyone who snores? I do.
Trigger warning kinda, by the end.
what is your favorite font? Proxima Nova. It’s the default font that my org used for all documents and works-in-progress, and it ended up becoming my actual real-life favorite. I’ve always picked out that font even outside of org matters.
do you know what a wombat is? Sure.
would you make a good movie critic? Not at all. I don’t know enough about different filmmaking elements to make a reliable critic. I’ve criticized things like acting, plots, and dialogues in the past, of course; but there’s still so many things that go into films that aren’t overtly projected like lighting, symbolism, hidden meanings, etc. I don’t have a very good nose for those.
what goal are you aiming for this year? In the last 8 weeks of the year? Hmm...avoiding corona would be at the top of that list, lmao.
are you currently reading any books at the moment? No. I’ve stopped opening the book I used to constantly mention on here.
when i say foxy lady what comes to mind? Beyoncé’s character in the Austin Powers movie she was in lol; her name was Foxxy.
would you have liked to have lived during the Victorian times? Wasn’t this era like a golden age of sorts for the UK? I’d love to visit for that purpose; but given the still-horrible hygiene and living conditions for most people of the time, I wouldn’t choose to live there.
would you own a Siamese cat? No.
have you ever had an ultimate adrenaline rush? I don’t think so. I’ve had bursts of energy in the past, but I wouldn’t call any of them an ultimate adrenaline rush.
do you like deviled eggs? I’ve never had them; it’s not a common dish here. But they always look so good in the American shows I watch??? I really hope they taste as good as they look.
what tends to upset you? Hearing anything about animal abuse.
what's the farthest you've walked? I can’t give you a distance, but my parents opted for us to walk the whole time we were in Bali (except if we had a tour day which included transportation). Walking in an unfamiliar - and very humid - country and not knowing where anything is (this was before food and travel apps got as detailed as they are today) and ending up walking long stretches because you can’t locate any good local spots is a very easy way to run out of patience, apparently.
what is your favorite horror movie? Carrie was pretty fun.
what does your favorite shirt look like? It’s a twist on the Chicago flag, made black and red and with a raised fist in the middle. At the back it says “CM Punk: Best in the World.” Been my favorite and most overused shirt for the past 9 years. My friends tease me about it sometimes, but I don’t care lol, the shirt is very significant to me.
is your life like a daily routine? It is, but I prefer that it is. I like when things are in my control and, for the most part, predictable. I enjoy spontaneity in short bursts.
were you ever told as a child if you eat carrots you'll have pretty eyes? So many times.
what career are you most interested in? Communications and media, so it’s great that I’m headed there so far.
have you ever seen a rooster? Sure.
what time do you usually wake up? I wake up wake up by 7:30 or 8 AM, but I usually also wake up for a bit any time between 4–6 AM. Sometimes I choose to stay up from then, and sometimes I’d want to go back to sleep.
what do you think about religion? It’s good when people use it for good, or if it has helped save a person’s life. In my own personal experience, though, it’s beenhard to find Christians who aren’t hypocritical. So even though I see religion’s potential, I don’t have a lot of trust in believers themselves.
what made you feel most accomplished in your life so far? Graduating college.
have you ever seen a lunar eclipse? I saw the super blue blood moon two years ago, which according to a quick Google search is a lunar eclipse! So yeah, I’ve seen one.
what are you allergic to? No allergies.
do you ever feel like people hold things you do or say against you? Only my mom does this.
what can't you afford but wish you could? Front-row Wrestlemania tickets. My childhood (and now adulthood) dream is to go to Mania 50 which is only 14 years from now, but at least I still have more than enough time to save up for it.
--
what is one word that sums up this year so far? Revelatory. ever felt like you were putting your life in danger? [trigger warning] Yes, it’s called suicidal tendencies. what do you like with your eggs? If scrambled, with cheese. If omelette...stuff that crap up with everything lol. Tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese, ham, bacon, and onions are all good in my book. what remedy do you partake when experiencing the common cold? The good ol’ wait-for-it-to-go-away life hack. would you ever spend a weekend in the mountains in a log cabin? That sounds amazing. I sure would. have you ever been called a psycho? No. have you ever taken martial arts? would you? No but I was always a little envious of my cousin who was taken to taekwondo class every weekend when we were kids. Sure, I’d take classes if I had the chance. who is someone you look up to? Nacho, but he’s gone now. is there something you're anxious about? I have work jitters for tomorrow, but they’re manageable for now. Otherwise I’m feeling pretty good. what is the longest you've gone without sleep? A little above 24. what is the longest you've been on the phone? This makes me cringe now, but it was like 8 hours long or something like that. It was still the ~honeymoon phase of that relationship and we were still clingy. We never did it again after that. do you care about calories? No. do you know someone with a really annoying laugh? Nah, can’t think of anyone. what band do you mostly always listen to no matter what mood? Paramore.  have you ever been to Indianapolis? Nope.
--
what type of bread do you like to eat? I eat white bread all the time, but my favorite kind is brioche. do you have any great great grandparents still living? Two greats is a bit too much don’t you think? Lmao. Anyway, my last great-grandparent died in 2010. I never knew my dad’s grandparents, and my great-grandfather on my mom’s side had died all the way back in the 70s. what is one country that you really want to visit someday? India. who usually cooks or what do you usually crave the most? Those are two different questions haha. My parents take turn cooking; and as for my craving, I find myself seeking sushi most of the time. ever been associated in a program that was a complete waste of time? Yep, like that one time I had to attend this 5-hour mandatory program/seminar before my driver’s license could be issued to me; it taught me nothing I didn’t already know about driving, and it used driving tutorials that I’m pretty sure were recorded in the 90s. This seminar took place in 2016. do weird numbers call your phone? Not regularly. Occasionally an unknown number will come in, but I reject all those. where are you right now? Sitting up on my bed. do you tend to care about other people's feelings more than your own? Yes. I really shouldn’t. what type of lifestyle do you want to obtain? if you haven't obtained it [trigger warning] I haven’t even figured out yet if I love life enough to want to stay in it. A type of lifestyle isn’t much of a priority for now. what was something that use to frighten you as a child? Getting lost at the mall. have you ever been on a train? Just once. who's been in your life the longest? did you expect this person to still be around? Apart from family, Angela. Yes, she’s here for the long haul. how do you feel about anatomy? Fascinating. I’d take a class on it. Insert interesting fact here: Read this on Reddit a few days ago, so I’ll just copy-paste the whole thing: “When Jadwiga, the King of Poland (medieval Poland referred to every ruler as King regardless of gender), was considering a marriage proposal from the Grand Duke of Lithuania, a chief concern among her court was that said Duke was rumored to have massive genitals to the point that they would kill his wife on their wedding night. Two of her councilors volunteered to travel to Lithuania to try and discover the truth of these rumors, which naturally meant they would watch the Duke as he bathed. They returned and happily reported that not only weren’t the Duke’s genitals fatally large, they were in fact a tad smaller than average, so nothing to worry about. Thus Poland and Lithuania were united, and the rest is history.” Got a chuckle out of that one when I read it that I just had to scroll through the entire thread again just to be able to share it here lmao.

How To Build Up A Live2D Model in Aseprite Tutorial + Resources
This Tutorial is old and outdated, it also needs to be remade soon but enjoy it still! -v-
Making a Live2D model in pixels were kinda overwhelming, sinse at the time nothing of help were on the Internet about pixelmodels at all. all of this into is just from my experience from making all my models
so i thought it would be a good idea to show you how I make My Models and some tips i've picked up along the way aswell as some info and resources :>
Note This is Part 1 in a series of Tutorials
Tutorials on Steam
How to build up your Pixel-Live2D-Model
How to Export a Pixel-Live2D-Model from Aseprite to Live2D Cubism
How to Rig a Live2D Pixel-Model
Tutorials on Newgrounds
How to build up your Pixel-Live2D-Model <- You're here
How to Export a Pixel-Live2D-Model from Aseprite to Live2D Cubism
How to Rig a Live2D Pixel-Model
but first a little quick info!
Pixel live2D models are made of Upscaled pixelart.
Pixel models are generally more rare than Digital-art Live2D models.
Pixel models are generally rigged like normal models or atleast can be.
here is also a list of Vtubers/Artists who Makes/Uses Pixelmodels.
These could be good to look through before you decide on a way to build your model!
(These are just the ones i've found so far)
NumachiTanegi (Numa) (Vtuber & Artist)
KeinaNate (Vtuber & Artist)
BlubbrMuffins (Vtuber & Artist)
BokiPixelart (Vtuber & Artist)
Chibikki_ikki (Artist & Vtuber)
Poribaketu137 (Artist)
Me, Grat-Grot-10-Berg :> (Artist & Vtuber & Guy Writing right now)
The Paralax Effect VS Deformers
Pixel-models doesnt like being bended by a Warp-Deformer much, and in turn someone smart on the internet found out that you could split the hair into layers and make a simple Paralax Effect with them (Org Tweet of that)
Generally you're gonna be able to recreate the Look left and Look right of the Model Inside Aseprite even before making more then the Head of the model.
Tumblr media
Here you actually see i made a mistake on the Left looking one, its outline is a little off
Snapping VS Opacity
Pixel-models, can look pretty nice when stuff just snaps from one position to another, the Opacity from switching sprites can look a bit Blurry if you arent careful.
Bellow are Exsamples of Opacity (The Eyes) and Snapping (The Wings), both work really well, but on the wings it makes sense just to snap else it will just create a Ghost'ish effect. These Sprites Animations are just made by Making the different would be Frames on diffrent layers.
Snapping Exsample
Eye Opacity Exsample
i think thats about all the info i got :>
Okay so making a model, is kinda painful, but atleast we're gonna be in pain together!
i always start by making the Faceplate of the Model. Oh and remember to split everything into layers like a normal model. :>
Tumblr media
something like this
Then i ether go and make the front hair, or the eyes i'll go for the eyes for this Tutorial
Tumblr media
Something like this!
you need to make a sprite for Open Eyes, Half Closed Eyes, and a Closed Eyes, i mainly only do that with the eyelashes
i split the Eyelash, Eyewhite and the Pupil, i keep my pupils in its own folder so you can add more pupils like a heart eye pupil or an angry/yandere one.
Tumblr media
the layers for me ends up looking like this, now do this for the other eye (or eyes) too.
oh and how i add smug is just by adding a small line of whatever skin color the character has under the eyes on a layer above the pupil and eye white.
for it to look good exported, it actually needs to be put a pixel or two down, so when you enable it in Live2D, it moves up into place instead of showing up by Opacity.
Tumblr media
when we come to rigging, then i normally bind the smugness to the EyeSmile param,
Thats the eyes done :>
Hair time!
Tumblr media
I make my Hair by actually Splitting it into 2 or 3 parts, The front hair, The Middle hair, and the Back hair which is split into even smaller parts.
its very importent that the hair is able to create a small paralax effect like i said before, we do this by the splitting.
i always start with the front hairs, but then when i come to the part thats slightly more behind then i switch to the middle hair and then flip flop between till i'm happy about them
Tumblr media
then i as a finish'er i add the back hair, and i make sure the layers sprites overlap slightly even with the outline
Tumblr media
then we're nearly done, we still need a neck between the face plate and the middle hair, then thats the head done!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All done, i added a little bit of Expression stuff too, you can go do that too if you want :>
(but just to be sure, test if it can look from left to right, maybe up and down without the outline breaking?)
The body!
I must admit that i'm not the best at rigging the body, i can show you what i do know though
i like splitting the body into two folders, Upper body and Lower body.
Tumblr media
I split them up so its easier the Rig the Breath parameter in Live2D
i also split the Legs at the joints so you can make them move when looking from side to side, same goes for the arms.
as you can see its showing two outfits for the model, you can make the model flip between those with a parameter later in live2d aswell
else i dont really do much more then that, my bodies are very simple, heres how it looks though
Tumblr media
very simple model, you can always add more to it later! :>
That being said thats about all i know, i hope it gave you a little idea about how you go about building one, its a daunting task, but the end is very worth it.
Now its onto the next Tutorial in the List!
Tutorials on Steam
How to build up your Pixel-Live2D-Model <- You just did this one!

2018: A Year in Review of Giving Back
2019 is in full swing and we’re so happy to celebrate another spin around the sun with our amazing staff, dedicated customers, and gracious community partners! Since it’s the time of the season, we at Greenlight have been reflecting on 2018 and the ways in which we’ve been able to support our community through giving. We couldn’t have done it without the help and commitment of you—our customers, fans, and friends! Big thanks and props to all of you!
In partnership with nonprofit organizations, city agencies, the book publishing community, and our customers, we’ve been able to give back this year in significant and meaningful ways. Some donations are financial, supporting schools, nonprofits, and causes, and others are gifts of our expertise and resources to get books into the hands of those who need them most.
“An independent bookstore is a unique kind of community space: welcoming, inspiring, and humanizing,” says Greenlight co-founder and events director Jessica Stockton Bagnulo. “Along with our colleagues in bookstores around the country, we at Greenlight are looking now for new ways to use our space and other resources to address the issues that affect our community. We have always been a place for conversations, stories and ideas; we hope to become a place where neighbors can make connections and find tools to help one another when we need it most.”
In 2018, Greenlight donated $23,704.07 and 4,306 books in total!
Read on for a (non-exhaustive) closer look at what Greenlight gave in the past year.
Secret Snowflake Book Drive:
Tumblr media
Greenlight partners with NYC Service, a division of the Mayor's office, on an annual Secret Snowflake book drive to provide new books to kids in the shelter and foster care systems in New York City. We curate a list of great titles for kids and we discount book drive titles 30% to customers when purchased for donation. We also donate additional books and take on all delivery costs of the books to NYC Service.
This holiday season, we donated 1,007 books to NYC kids! Much gratitude to all of you for your generous book donations that made this drive such a success.
“We are constantly inspired by the generosity of Greenlight customers, as well as Rebecca and Jessica’s commitment to supporting youth in our city.” –Meg Cook, NYC Service
Gift an Author Visit Program:
Greenlight created the “Gift an Author Visit” program, inviting customers to purchase books in support of authors visiting local school PS 375: if the store could collect purchased books to donate to an entire grade, the author would visit the school and present their book to students.
This year, we collected Happy in Our Skin by Fran Manushkin for the entire Kindergarten and 1st grade, and Sea Creatures from the Sky by Ricardo Cortés for the entire Pre-Kindergarten grade!
Tumblr media
Ricardo Cortés visited PS 375 in December and Fran Manushkin will visit in the Spring.
“Our pupils are starstruck when meeting real life children's book authors and the students treasure receiving their very own signed books. Kids succeed when schools and businesses join together.” –Marie Spinney, teacher
Books Through Bars Wish List:
Tumblr media
NYC Books Through Bars is a nonprofit collective that sends free books to incarcerated people across the country. Greenlight hosts an ongoing wish list on our website with books that are always in demand for BTB’s clients; customers purchase books for donation, which are collected at the bookstore and delivered to Books Through Bars. In 2018, with your support, we donated 3,076 books to BTB!
Tumblr media
“It's a win for everyone involved: people are able to buy books for individuals in prison from an independent bookstore, we have our shelves stocked with the most frequently requested books, and the incarcerated people who write us get the titles they want.” –NYC Books Through Bars collective
  #IndiesGiveBack Book Donation Project:
Tumblr media
Through the “Indie Bookstores Give Back on Small Business Saturday” campaign (#IndiesGiveBack), the American Booksellers Association and American Express are working together with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to make available 20,000 special edition copies of Ghost by Jason Reynolds, the 2018 Indies First spokesperson.
We joined bookstores nationwide in purchasing books at cost for donation and were able to give the entire 6th grade class of Launch Expeditionary Learning School in Crown Heights their own copies of Ghost.
 School Book Fair Fundraisers:
Greenlight works closely with teachers and administrators to curate book fairs so students can have access to books on campus, and we donate 20-25% of all book fair sales back to the school.
In 2018, we put on 29 book fairs and raised over $16,000 for 26 educational institutions!
  Civic Engagement Series:
Tumblr media
In 2017, we launched the Civic Engagement Series, which hosts nonprofit groups working in social justice, community organizing, and the arts for hour-long, interactive events with the goal of providing tools for involvement, creativity, and action. 20% of sales on the day of each event are donated to the featured organization to support their important work.
In 2018, we hosted Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association (PLGNA) for a panel on educational equity; Atlas: DIY for testimonials and tutorials by youth clients on immigration justice and advocacy; and teachers and students from Generation Citizen for a demonstration of action civics education in high schools.
Tumblr media
“It was a powerful opportunity for young immigrant leaders at Atlas:DIY to share their personal experiences, the ways they are taking a stand about the issues and policies that affect them, and to share resources and information about immigrant rights with Brooklyn community members.” –Jason Yoon, Atlas: DIY Executive Director
 Other Charitable Donations:
Greenlight responds to requests from schools, literary nonprofits, and neighborhood organizations for donations to support their causes. We donate gift cards for raffles and drawings, ad space in programs, or other forms of support for the orgs that make Brooklyn the best it can be. In 2018, we donated over $4,000 in other charitable donations!
Thank you so much for helping us with these accomplishments to benefit our communities. It really would not be possible without you. Every time you shop with us a portion of your support goes toward projects like these. Together, let’s see what we can all do in 2019!
